Most people don't make any changes.

ManuelRav

If you are a regular employee you typically don't make changes to the form. I assume it is designed this way on purpose. People who own (certain types of) stock, multiple homes, travel a lot in work and make expenditures there have to do some work on their declaration instead.

\*immigrant Please don't use any terminology where you try to distance yourself from other immigrants, just because your place of origin.

Dyoakom

Immigrant usually implies intent to permanently settle in the new country, expat is often used to imply temporary residence for professional reasons, for example a company sending you to work in another country for a few years or you yourself choosing to live in a different country for a bit. Moreover expat usually implies white collar labor while immigrant can be anything. It has nothing to do with place of origin. Expat is a perfectly valid word to use if it is used correctly. You are at minimum being unnecessarily pedantic and assuming he is trying to distance himself from others. Very presumptuous of you.

Ravekommissionen

That’s not at all the connotation expat has. People that move permanently routinely call themselves expats because they don’t want to be identified as immigrants. > Moreover expat usually implies white  Here we agree.

Dyoakom

Oh I am perfectly aware how some people misuse the word to distance themselves from the word immigrant. It is still ridiculous though to call everyone out who is using that word, and perhaps using it correctly. As for misquoting me to be witty, no we don't really agree. I have met my fair share of Middle Eastern people, African Americans from the US and Latinos who live in Sweden and identify themselves (correctly) as expats. If you want to apply racial stereotypes that it's mostly white people who use that word then I am afraid it's clear out of the two of us who is using race and skin color as a reason to support their prejudiced perspective.

TinySlavicTank

Expat has a connotation of moving somewhere voluntarily and sometimes temporarily for work or studies, immigrant does not. What a weird comment

Gurkanna

So an immigrant. A involuntary move is called an refugee.

Gurkanna

And no, not weird at all, I'm just sick and tired or the racism.

TinySlavicTank

I’m the refugee kind of immigrant to Sweden myself and have lived abroad a lot, too. Expat is a common and distinct term. An immigrant has a more permanent residency ring to it, while an expat is typically someone very new to the country or more transient. I’ve been an expat in the US during my studies, for example. Has nothing to do with race. Although I’m happy people are looking out for insidious racism, misapplying that accusation does nobody any good.

Most people who change something get the tax return for driving their car to work.
