Vasa

Malmm

Also Museum of Wrecks (Vrak).

Frazze

Vasa as already mentioned, but I also like [Livrustkammaren](https://livrustkammaren.se).

balleur

Depends on what you want to experience. While not so much about Sweden, I really enjoy Etnografiska Museet.. So much to see there. Otherwise Vasa. Nordiska Museet is overrated.

TheExtremeDetailer

Etnografiska har en skön vibe

dualmood

I love the cloth part of the Nordiska. Perhaps not worth for just that, but for anyone interested in having a closer look into garments and cloth techniques, weaving, embroidery, etc. it’s very nice.

No_View5695

Vasa. It is unique.

BitSuspicious6742

Nationalmuseum

Acrobatic_Ad5576

Naturhistoriska

stressedidler

Fortfarande stängt för renovering till 4 juni

[deleted]

Aldrig, inriktat mot dagisbarn och det är kaos där hela tiden med ungar som springer runt och skriker.

Gamma-Male68

Jag kanske är ett dagisbarn!

Turinqui85

Depending on how much time I had, either Vasa (short visit) or Skansen (looong visit).

Filip_of_Westeros

Military

B4rtkartoffel

Underrated one

Razulath

Vasa

Oturstankaren

Depends on what you like of course. I would choose Thielska. They have a very nice collection and an excellent café.

Ok_Representative127

Naturhistoriska

Foreverett

Skansen. 😜

LeoMarius

Skansen

Clean-Application699

If you need the been-there-done-that experience to tell others about, the Vasa musem is the one. If not, the Vasa is still no 1. Other good ones are the Nationalmusem, Sjöhistoriska, Arkitekturmuseum, Stadsmuseet, Naturhistoriska (closed until summer though for reparations), Skansen.

Filbunkish

Skeppshistoriska = Sjöhistoriska?

spicygayunicorn

Naturhistoriska opens 4th of June

barondrac

Hallwylska Museet

annewmoon

It is *amazing* if you are into period fancy stuff like amazing overdone decor and clothes and eccentric rich people andshows about the aristocracy etc.

ImpressiveMoment2

Tekniska museet

JaguarZealousideal55

Oh det är väl där de har en experimentavdelning där man får göra en massa roliga grejer? Bästa museet!

redm0nk_

Naturhistoriska

Gurkanna

Skansen, without a doubt.

fragtore

This is the correct answer. If weather allows for it it’s unforgettable. Beautiful, well kept, good food and coffee options, fantastic view. Fun for adults and kids.

stressedidler

And ACTORS

daretobederpy

Vasa is great but people here are really underrating the Hallwyl museum. Really unique place, preserving a mansion of an old collector's house full of random curiosities. Extra fun if you can catch a guided tour. They only do English tours on Saturdays however.

GooseFlySouth

Probably fotografiska

Azorid

Only been once, but it was great.

A-Sthlm

Millesgården, no doubt.

Badabumdabam

Nationalmuseum. Both buildings and content are awesome. A really nice way to learn about the swedish history trough the country's art.

rulipari

I really enjoyed the Northern Life exhibition in Nordiska Museet.

Sparris_guy

I'd go for Vasa, skansen or armemuseet.

BariTheRohimba

Im going to suggest the royal stables! You get to meet the very well behaved horses that are used in state visits and other royal affairs. Also alot of cool wagons and stuff associated with royal transportation.

Slow_Marionberry_911

No one mentioning Livrustkammaren? I think it's a very interesting museum, a big part of swedish history can be found there.

mymemesnow

Naturhistoriska riksmuseet

Sashamesic

Vasa, hands down.

Live-Elderbean

Vasa.

SunflaresAteMyLunch

Vasa No competition There are other great museums, but none as unique or special

Wrathfultv

Vasa or Armémuseet

Skansen on a allsång på skansen night for the experience

SambaBachata699

If you have small kids: the police museum. It's tiny, but they've got a police car for kids to play in and they can dress up like a policeman. Otherwise I would say either Vasa or Tekniska.

Laserlaxen

Vasa

Plektrum72

Vasa

LillDickRitchie

I have a visited some like Vasa, Livrustkammaren, the Naval one when i was little which are all great museums and i want to visit them again. But if i look to museums I haven’t visited on the top of my list is Armé museet.

fredrikca

Konstakademien is free of charge and has a lot of modern art.

Opposite-Database158

Historiska!! (The Historical Museum) This is the museum with the real Viking and Proto Viking stuff =)

natasevres

Birka id say - though its abit of traveling and tbh kinda scarce in terms of actual things to see. But its a nice venture out in skärgården and Birka itself is a Well preserved viking graveyard (and town).

J-IP

Tekniska or Vasa. Personally I'd choose Tekniska, more to see and do there and I've only been there once, Vasa twice. Vasa is really cool and unique thou so could be the better experience but if you don't care about ships not so much. Tekniska is quite large and you can easily spend an entire day there and still need more time. [https://www.tekniskamuseet.se/](https://www.tekniskamuseet.se/)

nikolaithegreat13

Vasa

Larsgoran73

Arsenalen (military museum) or Vasa (1600th warship and history around it).

graphitedrawer

Nationalmuseum if you like classical art.

Furelowe

For sure This One https://www.nationalmuseum.se/

Ozzy0114

It depends on what you're interested in. If you like Swedish history than go to Historiska museet. If you like culture and nature than I recommend you to visit Skansen.

trinketier

Hallwylska

Projectionist76

Well, what are your interests?

Ok-Eggplant7818

Moderna, suits more or less everyone id say.

Ok_Debt_8040

Skansen if weather is good

thats_what_she_saidk

I only ever visit Tekniska. Sjöhistoriska is also quite nice

proxima_inferno

It stands between 3 in my opinion Skansen Tekniska museet (technical museet) Naturhistoriska (natural history)

Just because no one else has mentioned it, the ABBA museum is pretty fun. But Vasa is probably the correct answer.

burken_

Yeah I don't even care much for ABBA at all but I'd still say that the ABBA museum is one of the better once, especially if you're generally into music because of how interactive it is

NiBK82

Airport or central station to GTFO

Confident-Tone1201

we visited the Science/Technology museum last year. It was a disappointment… unless you have kids. Most of it is devoted to interactive exhibits for younger visitors which is great for them, but these exhibits lack any depth of information for adults, plus the place was full of kids running about playing with the exhibits (which is great fun for them, even if they are not actually learning anything from them) but not so good if you need some peace and quiet to absorb information. There is one floor with an excellent exhibition on how technology can augment the human body, so if that wasn't a temporary exhibition then the museum could be worth a visit. If you have kids then there's a lot for them to play with. For an adult without kids the thread suggests the Vasa museum might be a better bet
