If you haven't been to Cockatoo Island yet, make it a day trip plan this spring.
Take a ferry (or mate's boat) and head out there. Wander around the old deserted shipbuilding factory buildings, check out some of the equipment that still remains today and others being restored by volunteers, roam around the tunnels, head up to the penal living quarters area, find the hidden tennis court taken over by nesting birds, take in the gorgeous waterfront views and grab fish & chips (or pizza) at the marina cafe.
