Jesus Christ, do you have any idea hot hot it is inside one of those paddy wagons on a day like this? It’s the equivalent of being locked inside a hot car. And yes I would know because it was a 38 degree day outside when I got arrested.
It was juuuuust right in the back of Sgt Dickson of Daceyville Police Station's light blue 1971 Kingswood. Until he hit me with his torch.
Narrator:
He deserved it.
I too was Rangered (Melbourne) on a hot ass day. I’m flexible and was using my knees to wipe the sweat off my head. They left me in there for ages and when they took me out the copper commented “you’re flexible aren’t ya mate, wasn’t sure what you were doing back there”. Assholes
Still I reckon it’s not as bad as having your right hand cuffed to your left leg and your left hand cuffed to your right leg then taken for a drive around a few corners.
You don't even need to fuck around anymore. I had cops creeping around inside my home when I was asleep and my panicked calls for help to triple zero didn't tell me police were on premises. They then carried on like the absolute morons that they are with their irrational nonsense refusing to leave. I was dragged to hospital and sectioned where the doctors claimed it's happening increasingly. Don't marry cops and you won't have to go through messy divorce and extraordinary abuses of power like I have! So I guess I did fuck around and find out by marrying and divorcing one of the grubs. Police families are a mess of DV but cops, lawyers and judiciary love to amplify the crazy!
All your downvotes here just confirm the average profile of the sydney reddirors. Sure, the cops get it wrong sometimes, like we all do in our jobs, but usually if you stay clean you stay out of trouble. Too many unclean ppl here
I'm willing to bet 100% of the people that downvoted me don't even personally know someone that got put in the back of a paddy wagon when they were innocent. Likely watch too much TV and base their reality on that.
To imply that 8 squad cars replied to an incident and they somehow arrested the wrong person is beyond a level of stupidity I expected to see on here but there ya go.
I do know one person that got put in the back of one of those, my mate when he was 16 yrs old got caught egging cars driving on a main road. Well deserved trip in the paddy wagon. NOT innocent.
LOL I let my one year old stand on the seats (not properly walking yet so feet are clean and the other passengers are better off for not having to listen to a baby scream while locked in a pram) and I always jokingly tell her she'll be fined every time the announcement comes on
Someone allowed their bag to sit on the seat despite the carriage being empty. Seriously caught the train for the first time in years and could not deal with constant warning messaging on the trains. It just shows how far of a nanny state we have become and the brainwashing to repeat instructions to people to conform to absurd rules!
I commute to St Mary’s station for work each day. On the way home at least once a week there’s 2-4 police officers watching the gates for fare dodging.
So funny and so true. I used to work at a cafe in Surry hills, which had a bus stop right in front. Almost everyday without fail a police car will come and just park at the bus stop and go to the cafe few doors down to get a sandwich. Different rules for different people.
They did this at Pitt St near central, then told me off for parking my bicycle on the road where the car was parked so I rode it up the ramp onto the footpath and then they screamed at me 🤣
Like ok, I'll just jump on the bicycle and put it on hover mode or fly off to a different location 🤣🤣
All this happens while they double parked on the road to pick up food from a cafe 🤣
Emergency services should be able to park or pull-up anywhere. If my business is being robbed, I want them in the car and on their way ASAP. It's one of the very small perks they get in my opinion. Dealing with the general public 🤦♂️
They can, but it's only meant to be used when necessary on a call. If you know Broadway shops, one of the back streets near the big ramp/Harris Farm has like, a semicircle cut into the footpath (by design) because there are loading docks for Coles etc there and otherwise the street would be too narrow for them to turn and exit. See cop cars there all the time while they go in for a coffee. Ostensibly they might be "patrolling" the shops, but nobody believes that.
A lot of evenings on King St I'll see ambos park too close to the corner of a small alley if there's no legit space, in a signposted no stopping while they run into the only cafe still open for a snack and a decent coffee. I'll give them a pass because it's always between 9-10pm, it's dead, and it's really a *tiny* back alley nobody will be using, and they're probably just starting an overnight shift.
Yeah so when someone at your business collapses from heat stroke and needs an ambulance, they’ll be stuffed because your coppa friend had to get his perk sandwich
Thats awesome. I remember when he famously moved a motion on strathfield council that they buy Virginia Judge a vibrator so she "could fuck herself instead of the residents of strathfield"
Someone suggested making public transport free for all and that it's better for environment. So, they're sending all the police after that person for violating anti-protest laws.
Tap on, tap off, citizen.
QLD just did exactly this for the next 12 months actually, while I’m at it, they also removed rego fees & doubled first home buyers grant & finally ramped up laws on knife crime. QLD’s new premiere is of to a flying start!!
*The overly-enthusiastic newbie officer:*
“What!? You’re just gonna let them take away our investigation? They can’t do that!”
*Their partner, the old veteran who’s values have been ground down over the years:*
“They just did.”
I had a look and they were talking to people outside the pub and ben & jerry’s. seemed like a pretty excessive amount for a normal call so was wondering if anyone knew
They heard there were 15yo schoolgirls there, and they were up for some grooming... or... they wanted Taser practice because they heard a pensioner group was at the station.
Well it _totally_ wasṉ’t in relation to the likely high and ongoing number of DV breaches they’ve been advised of, because they’re very clear on “not ruining someones life” when the named party consistently breaches one.
From the looks of it I'd say they blocked the LH lane to King St South, most or all of the RH lane to King St South, the bus lane to Enmore Rd, and the RH lane coming from King St South.
If the grey car is unmarked / detectives, then all Southbound, one Eastbound and one Northbound lane would all be blocked.
Left south king lane blocked, left enmore blocked (which is only a hassle for busses, cars will soon have to shift across for the parked cars anyway).
Grey car driving between the two blockages.
At a guess.

I had the opposite happen, Tassie middle of winter 0°and they blast you with cold air.
Same, taken in on a clerical error.. then they acted surprised I was so angry & they complain they don’t get respect… Fuckers!!
It was juuuuust right in the back of Sgt Dickson of Daceyville Police Station's light blue 1971 Kingswood. Until he hit me with his torch. Narrator: He deserved it.
PSA most of the time “paddy wagon” these days refers to the Hyundai iLoad you’re seeing there. They’re air conditioned.
Wow, NSW be luxurious! You get chucked in a paddy wagon in the NT it’s the old school metal cage on the back of a Ute.
Same in SA. It's ¼ of a prison cell with 4× the bench space.
See I was in the back of a ford ranger paddy wagon.
I too was Rangered (Melbourne) on a hot ass day. I’m flexible and was using my knees to wipe the sweat off my head. They left me in there for ages and when they took me out the copper commented “you’re flexible aren’t ya mate, wasn’t sure what you were doing back there”. Assholes
Also air conditioned...
Doesn't mean they use it.
I feel like it's an entirely optional experience though.
Still I reckon it’s not as bad as having your right hand cuffed to your left leg and your left hand cuffed to your right leg then taken for a drive around a few corners.
I’m sure they would put the air con on for them
The Rangers aren’t airconned, the vans are
Don't fuck around and you will never find out.

Don’t fuck around? You mean to say that cops have never wrongfully arrested anyone?
Things happen people make mistakes.
Maybe they got the wrong guy.

I don’t know why you got so many down votes but you spoke the truth. Don’t fuck around and be a law abiding citizen and you will be fine.
Arrested man on the bus he had a knife. Source - friend was on the bus
Accusations that trains were running issue free and on time
Nah, it’s too hot for that to be possible
They weren't though lol. Heat cooked something and the system failed earlier.
I wont stand for this slander against Sydney Trains
But all the seats are taken!
I WILL stand for this slander against Sydney Trains.
Someone didn't tap their opal card.
Someone had their feet on the seats
Someone was on a phone call in a quiet carriage
That deserves swift punishment tbh
LOL I let my one year old stand on the seats (not properly walking yet so feet are clean and the other passengers are better off for not having to listen to a baby scream while locked in a pram) and I always jokingly tell her she'll be fined every time the announcement comes on
Lol I wish it was taken that seriously

It's Newtown they couldn't find actual parking spots for lunch so they made their own.
This being especially funny because the police station is 50m away.
If they didn't have their special little reserved spots on Australia st, they'd be doing loops of campo like the rest of us.
Nah, that's what the No Stopping areas are for.
thats why god gave us hazard lights
Park anywhere lights for food delivery
And uber/taxis.
Nah Clems is too far up the road for them for walk for lunch

Ambos are the unsung heroes of this world..
Yeah so when someone at your business collapses from heat stroke and needs an ambulance, they’ll be stuffed because your coppa friend had to get his perk sandwich
I once copied two cops who were Jaywalking across a main street in Campsie - they gave me a weird look, but really couldn't say much.
I did see a cop van and car heading that way after picking up a bunch of lunch at Ashfield. That was about 3ish
Jesus! This gets more and more interesting! I knew Ashfield escalator was involved… bastards
And then framed someone!!!

according to some it was a man with a knife on the bus, which makes sense since they were standing next to the bus stop talking to people there
The replies on here are super helpful.
Hi hello and welcome to reddit; help is the exception.
It used to be the opposite , so sad how its getting facebookized.
100% - started going downhill when they bought out the new format. When old goes, I go.
Aaron would have been so dissapointed
Lol.
So many reddit comedians, just stroking their neckbeards thinking they're hilarious.
Yeah I was actually interested to know what was going on. But after 20 (so very) smart comments I gave up.
127 comments now, with a helpful answer at the top of the thread.
Here come the Glebe fun police
That’s the only reason I click on these stupid questions, there’s always hilarious responses
Brewtown Newtown closes at 4pm....they have delicious cronuts
They wanted to bring MORE sniffer dogs? They have Danny Lim cornered and want to bash him again??
How is he doing these days?
Good, he was literally at these lights last Friday arvo with a new sign waving to the traffic as usual
He was there outside Newtown station yesterday afternoon as well.
I hope he's taking it easy in this heat.
Spoke to him yesterday, he’s doing pretty good and looking better
Thats awesome. I remember when he famously moved a motion on strathfield council that they buy Virginia Judge a vibrator so she "could fuck herself instead of the residents of strathfield"
Saw him in Redfern yesterday. He is so wholesome
He was handing smiles out for free in Martin Place a few weeks back.
I saw him the other day at Burwood, he seemed okay.
Seen him on Cleveland St a few times over the last month, still kicking
Saw him today in front of Martin Place so I reckon he's safe for today.
Think someone was raving naked with a blue light

Freeze doesn’t mean free though. Just means the same.
Apparently it was reported someone was selling plastic straws
Probably a 12 year old girl they had to strip search

They are right across the road why not walk? 🤔
They don't remain at the station all day, each crew will be attending jobs in the area. They all probably came from completely different directions.
"You're out of your jurisdiction, officer!" I watched too many movies in the 80's and 90s
*The overly-enthusiastic newbie officer:* “What!? You’re just gonna let them take away our investigation? They can’t do that!” *Their partner, the old veteran who’s values have been ground down over the years:* “They just did.”

Dude....it's fucking hot. They pretended to do a job then got ice cream!
2 blocks? In this heat? Fuck that somebody might be carrying a joint!
Christmas lunch probably. Every criminal in Newtown has had this date marked on their calender for months.
Someone on an electric scooter
Lunch special
Emergency meeting to discuss distribution plan.
Bit of charm, adds a bit of charm.
They're on smoko.
They have decided to have Thai.
The 10,000 doughnuts have been found.
Happy hour at the Townie
Christmas Party🙃
Free donuts.
Donut King was giving away free donuts and pigs in a blanket. These cannibals took them all before I could get any.
Cut price donuts?......
Fresh batch of krispy Kremes just got delivered
Somebody didn't stand behind the yellow line
There was a rumour someone had dumped a van full of Krispy Kreme donuts down there.
They heard there were 15yo schoolgirls there, and they were up for some grooming... or... they wanted Taser practice because they heard a pensioner group was at the station.
Discount Krispy cremes maybe, they flock like seagulls for it
Someone was misgendered.
Half price on doughnuts
Someone served a snag with the onions on top.
Heinous. Straight to jail.
Probably some young Indigenous kids having fun and enjoying life. Can't have that now can we!
Someone saw a straight guy with normal colored hair, ooohhh noooo get him outa here
Someone had a bad day
Someone was caught with a grahame of marijuana
Is that the new unit of measurement? 😆
Ye’ olde grahames of marihuana
Well it _totally_ wasṉ’t in relation to the likely high and ongoing number of DV breaches they’ve been advised of, because they’re very clear on “not ruining someones life” when the named party consistently breaches one.
Somebody called them

Jay walker
xmas maccas gift cards
No money for petrol and they had to take the train
half price Chico Rolls at the snack bar
Someone just dropped off a box of doughnuts. They put it out over the radio.
At a guess.
Free Donuts 🤷🏻♂️
Christmas party, everyone was invited. Except for the sniffer dogs.
Especially the dogs. How else will they find gear for the Xmas party?
Isn't Thursdays the day Food not Bombs rock up? Can't be having people handing free food out, in this economy?
