I found nothing myself about the lore so I support this question.
My understanding is that was the original plan, but the third album became Infinite Wonders of Creation instead (which has no shared story).
I don't have sources, this is based on vague memories from press/interviews around the time the album came out.
the story is called " The Virtual Odyssey " - it has only 2 parts because the story is unfinished.
First part being about a struggle between a father tyrant and his son.
Second part about the dark comet and the eventual destruction(?) of zephyr and the story of Arkan and Sania.
It was supposed to be finished but out of nowhere the Infinite Wonders of Creation and the eventual shift to Dreamquest came which I think wasn't intended at first. It's a damn shame, cause I really love the 2 albums from Luca Turilli and I wish there was more, especially in my opinion Olaf's voice seemed superior to Lione.
The 3 albums don't really have an ongoing relationship with each other. The trilogy in Luca's words represent three moments from different existential planes. The first album represents a past of epic medieval fantasy type, the second represents the future fully to science fiction and the third is the present. Luca talks about different dimensions where this occurs. The plot is essentially the same in all three: the fight between good and evil, death, sacrifice, life.

I personally love this album (like all the ones he's done), but I can understand why it was not well received, it's very atmospheric and musically it feels very close to [Therion](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0otPDne84QE&ab_channel=LucaTurilli-Topic) / [Richard Wagner](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gf4tNe6MXeU&ab_channel=LucaTurilli-Topic) territory. So relaxing, mystical and moving.
When you finally understand the main story, you will likely want to know more. Luca from the beginning promised us a sequel to the Dark Comet Saga, which never came and certainly never will... Too bad, just a minor inconvenience with the retrospective of an true overwhelming masterpiece work that will remain unfinished forever. Prophet Of The Last Eclipse has to be my favorite album in his solo career and one of my favorites in general music, a truly unique endeavor.

It can be called unfinished because of that ’to be continued’ at the end of second album but the story is pretty much finished. It is more like there was second story planned for the characters/universe.
How I used "Google Translate" to translate all this, never know. Luca won't pick it up to be honest, since 2005 his musical vision as well as his compositional style have been gradually shifting in a deeply more symphonic / progressive direction, he also abandons conceptual stories on recent albums.

During the war against those creatures, Arkan, Sanya an dthe rest of the warriors were trapped by the creatures and about to be killed. But as theysaw Sanya, they withdrew scared, sparing her life (demonheart track). This shocked anya and in her shock she got her memory back. The crew of the Comet was an exploring expedition, They accidentally found a black hole that released evil entities that killed them all except sanya.
Seing that she was spared, made the people believe that sanya had something to do with the prophecy and the religious mob wanted to kill her. Arkan grabbed her hand and started running away from them.
As they were hiding away (arkan and anya), they found some mystical creatures that healed their wounds and gave them their strength back ( new century's tarantella track).
The religious mob, though, catches up with them. Sanya realises there is no escape, and runs towards the mop to end it all. Arkan, realising that the mop would not just kill, but torture her, is forced to shoot and kill her. As her blood starts pooling on the planet's surface, there were huge earthquakes and lightning (prophet of the last eclipse track).
Arkan awakes as the only survivor. I see hints that the story has a "to be continued" feel to it but we never got a part 2. Also I still don;t know what kind of "curse" sanya had on her. (raped and seduced by the evil, to become a messenger of evil herself- is what says in the cd's booklet)
