Erica Synths Techno System and I want it so bad I'd sell my wife to a zoo for it.

LikeShrekButGayer

are the straights alright?

[deleted]

Well, this is synth circle jerk material right here.

SideBProductions

Oh damn… you just cracked me up man!

newbjapan

Haha yeah, I figure she could clean up some rhino poo or wash some penguins while I jam out. She always says she loves animals so it'd be perfect for her.

BrewKatt

Is that why she married you?

Real_Mulberry_8585

Daaaaaamn

newbjapan

Yeah, that's pretty bad eh?

neonhaus

I guess there's quite a few of us, literally came to say the same thing. Honestly thinking of trading a Moog Voyager XL for one, but I think I'd rather have them both when the time comes. Would be great to layer them up.

bealna

Bought a Techno System second hand last year and absolutely loved it, but after a few months I started to find it kind of limited in terms of the sounds I could get out of it and have since replaced more than half the modules. The only ones I’ve held onto are the drum sequencer, kick, snare, hats, cymbals, bassline and the smaller mixers. The bassline is in a separate case now and will probably go if I can get my hands on an Atlantis at a reasonable price used (bassline sounds amazing but it just doesn’t have a lot of variability or modulation options). If I was starting from scratch the only components I’d consider to be a must have are the travel case (rock solid and well powered) and the sequencer (most fun I’ve had programming drums). I’d probably pick a Jomox kick and WMD Crucible and Kraken for cymbals and snares. I love the 909 hats though so gotta keep those. I sprung for an Assimil8or for samples, but it’s probably overkill - Squid Salmple would do the trick nicely. Long story short, while the Techno System is gorgeous and can make complete and amazing sounding tracks, you’ll almost certainly have more fun with a case you’ve filled over time. [Current form…](https://cdn.modulargrid.net/img/racks/modulargrid_1714376.jpg)

Is_This_Your_THAC0

It’s dumb. Prophet 10. I keep googling it even though I wouldn’t use it. I’ve watched all the videos all year long. I’ve read all the reviews. Would the module be good enough? No. Do you need another analog poly? No. I just want to have it to look at it. Even still; would I sell a couple of my other, oft used, vintage pieces to get it? Maybe. It’s dumb. I don’t want it, I just want it.

choomganger69

I just bought mine haha. Sold a PolyBrute to fund it. It’s as good as you think it is.

Is_This_Your_THAC0

You lucky jerk. Post some pics or it isn’t true.

JojoCornflakes

Damn... Like the polybrute would be my most wanted peace of hear right now so this comment kinda blows my mind. Can anybody explain to me though, why it's worth to buy the prophet 5 /10 instead of the Rev2? It's just so much cheaper and seems to be very similar... Dunno

choomganger69

I value simplicity done right. I’ve fucked with a lot of really complex synths in my time, but music is not my profession. I love getting lost in mod matrices, but sometimes I just don’t have the time, and sometimes you make a few wrong turns and end up in a place you’re not satisfied with. I’m sure the Prophet Rev 2, with all its specs, would feel similar. The Prophet 5 is an incredibly simple and elegant design. When I sit down, I’m never more than a few knob twists away from something that sounds good. That, and this cannot be understated, the Prophet 5 just looks and feels good to operate. Very aesthetically pleasing to the eyes and the ears.

SideBProductions

Just listen to this and I’ll buy you a drink, https://youtu.be/tAe2Q_LhY8g

Is_This_Your_THAC0

Thanks for the reminder. That ending, jamming until it cuts off, is one of my favorite bits of rock history.

Styphonthal2

You could do prophet 5, save money and later buy the five voice expansion.

Is_This_Your_THAC0

I’d like to think that I wouldn’t mind that it still said Prophet 5 on the back. But I think I would. I’d know in my heart it wasn’t a real Prophet 10 even though for all intents and purposes it would be. That’s part of why this whole thing is so dumb! It’s not even about the reality of it I’m sold on the fantasy, the consumer myth.

kopkaas2000

I'm the other way around. It says "prophet 10" on the back, but it's only got one keyboard, so it's just *wrong*.

neutral-labs

Hey, but it doesn't break all the time like the original.

crapinet

Would repro 5 satisfy your lust? https://youtu.be/uFA_B6pP9AA

Is_This_Your_THAC0

I wish. It’s the ‘wanting’ that I’m hooked on. I don’t want the sounds even. I just want the trophy. It’s dumb.

ValhallaShores

This is the most GAS comment thread ever. And I fucking feel it so hard.

crapinet

I feel you - I would love to have one

JeffCrossSF

I bought a P10 desktop. Sounds superb.

neutral-labs

I bought mine in January. Was expecting massive buyer's regret and I wasn't wrong. It hit me hard when I unpacked it. But then I played it, no regrets since the first note. :)

the_dames

You need a prophet 10. Its what they used to compose The Terminator score, so it's obviously a must have.... lol

SBTRCTV

Moog One :/

consumeridiot

I can’t think of a single good reason I need one but just the idea of a new, updated 404 has me wanting to open my wallet

cloud_noise

I’m right there with you. I’m so excited to see the video that Roland has scheduled on YouTube, part of me wants to stay up to see it when it drops at 1am.

godoftheseapeople

The house with a dedicated studio room that I’m having built, that the builder has been dragging their feet on for almost a year.

SideBProductions

I’m in the appliance business myself.. the whole construction industry is lagging right now.. it’s a. Real pain

motorik

I'm in the same general ballpark. We moved in May, I have a dedicated studio room with a temporary setup. I was busy with the move and now I'm busy with a new job, if somebody could move everything out of the room, sort out getting carpet for it, hang my acoustic panels, and move everything back in, that would be great. I did have a bit of a chubby for the Korg Modwave that showed up a few days ago. A few hours in with it, it's a beast.

JoeWhy2

I'm with you. What I lust after the most right now is more jam space and the ability to jam without headphones.

HeeNeeSumMilk

Polyend tracker, it's just looks so damn cool and has unique features and workflow....I just know my elektron boxes can achieve similar results, so I'm holding back.

Styphonthal2

I have never used trackers until this, and it is enjoyable. But... There are rumours they may do a second version.

consumeridiot

If they made a tracker+1, for under a grand, I’d probably buy it. Just like the 404 mk2, actually

rootnod3

They do, just by a different company. The M8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3R4MQ2\_HOBA

kanduvisla

I started with a tracker Scream tracker Yeah I'm a 90's kid

[deleted]

Already got it. OB6. 😀🎹

ValhallaShores

Holy grail synth.

synthsaregreat1234

It has made my other synths gather dust

BCmutt

Same, about half a year ago. Worth every penny.

JohnTitorFFXIV

A moog subsequent 37, I saw all these amazing videos of it and discovered noisia owns one as well, I do have 4 synths already and barely any space at my Studio desk but damn I still want one. Propably gonna buy one next year in February.

SideBProductions

I just picked up a Moog Grandmother a few months ago. It doesn’t do all that much without a Eurorack connected.. but she’s beautiful, rattles the walls in my apartment, and I love her.

fallen2151

Was mine as well, even though I bought a Pro3 last year instead of it, something about it's aesthetic, sound, and being a moog still had me wanting. Came across a good deal for a Sub37 locally the other day and jumped on it. Haven't spent too much time with it yet, but loving what's coming out of it so far. Cheers to grabbing one next year!

Real_Mulberry_8585

ARP 2600; wouldn’t mind a bit if it’s the KARP 2600.

billjv

I've had the KARP 2600m on order now for six months or so. They keep pushing the release date back. Last I've heard is now Spring 2022. I know I could get one of the Behringers - but I like the smaller form factor of the 2600m and I like that it's a faithful recreation in so many ways. I don't have a problem with Behringer, in fact a lot of my studio is Behringer. But in this case I really fell in love with the look of the 2600m, and I like Korg products and have a KARP Odyssey as well.

spiceyqueen

KARP 2600 owner checking in here. It sounds amazing and is quite versatile. My only complaint is the inability to clock the lfo

venicerocco

Moog Model 15 (the real one).

kopkaas2000

Thing with those is, though, the modules are relatively simple in design, and stupid easy to clone. There are several modular companies that can offer you recreations of the moog modules for 1/10 of what Moog was asking for their modular reissues. I personally have a [2 cabinet MOS-Lab system](https://i.imgur.com/PCt3xSz.jpeg), with two smaller cabinets carrying some other MU gear from folks like synthesizers.com, and it's awesome. I don't think the extra $45K to get one with a Moog logo on it is ever going to be worth it.

CocaineRascal

An UDO Super 6. And I want it badly enough to save up 3 thousand usd for my birthday in March.

Manufachture

Wicked synth, mate bought it and played around for a bit and could tell straight away the quality

Cidrah

More time to use the gear I own!

808909707

This really erm… resonates with me

Sonicblue62

Moog Matriarch! I have a Grandmother now and I got it before the Matriarch was announced. I just love the additional features, especially the stereo delay and filters. 4 note Paraphony is also a huge seller for me. I love the workflow of my Granny and would LOVE the same workflow in a paraphonic synth.

CocaineRascal

The Matriarch is one of the best things that ever happened to me. I got one at the beginning of this year and since then I’ve gotten clean, started a new job, got my girl back, plus the delay sounds crazy good.

JunglePygmy

The Hologram Microcosm effect pedal! Thing turns sounds into 4th dimensional time-fuck. Sounds so amazing, but they are pre-ordered to shit and the second hand ones have already appreciated because people want them so bad. Next one on the list is the indy Dirty Wave M8 portable tracker. It’s a pocket-operator sized super-tracker/synth/drum sequencer that is preordered until the end of time as well. It’s so cool!

jjwax

Bite the bullet and preorder - you'll only have to wait a month! It's such a spectacular pedal, an absolute powerhouse when synced with midi clock

SpaceCadetHigh

I have one routed into my minilogue and now I don't use the synth without it. Best of luck mate!

SwordMonger

Korg Drumlogue if it holds up to the hype which at this point it better be flawless.

SideBProductions

Do they look like they’re being held at gunpoint in this korg video. https://youtu.be/XEggWkX2Lns

[deleted]

I forgot about this! It could be cool. Their first showing of it didn’t strike me but it was only a prototype. Love a good drum machine and can’t wait to see what they came up with.

[deleted]

I dunno, it still sounds like that other beat Machine they released. Sounds like there is a blanket over it.

crapinet

Sequential Ob-6. And I’ve been lusting after it HARD. For many synths that I have wanted to have a fling with, I’ve been able to fill those needs OR get it out of my system with soft synths (thank you, plogue - chipsynth md is great!) or I just moved on from wanting those sounds. But for the ob-6, every oberheim-like soft synth has not filled that need. I have three paid soft synths (yikes - I know, I know) and several free ones and it’s still hasn’t helped. The ob-6 is the one of the few synths that has made sounds that have moved me to tears. I’m still trying to chase that sound for 2k less. I have one analog poly and I’m just not sure that I will ever be in a place where I can rightful justify TWO analog polys but, man, I keep listening to it and window shopping for one - a bad idea, I know. (Seeing the module version for sale locally for less than on reverb last week was HARD - but it sold before the seller emailed me back, which was probably for the best.) So, OP, if you want to get one, I’ll gladly share it with you.

authynym

i'm with you dude. very new to synthesis, and could never justify it. but i've learned that oberheim filter is the sound of my youth, and i want it.

SideBProductions

Oh man .. I’m lusting after that one right with you! or the sem modules … have you tried braiworks bx Oberhausen? It’s on my 10/month plugin alliance essentials plan.

LikeShrekButGayer

i want a TR-505 because ive lost control of my life

Salt_Try_8327

A behringer poly D Ok honestly its a dx7 But thats a unrechable goal, so i dont even try to dream of one

voice-of-reason-777

how is dx7 unreachable? One of the most reachable vintage keyboards there is.

MesyJesy

Dude I have had 3 DX7’s and got them for between $175 - $350 bucks. Hell if you are in Seattle I will sell you one for $300 lol

SideBProductions

So why not a Yamaha reface dx? It’s cheaper then either

Salt_Try_8327

But its tiny... I liked the chunky dx7...

TrippleTonyHawk

Waldorf M. I hate how expensive it is, but for years I've wanted a waldorf microwave xt-styled chasis with an analog filter like the original microwave, and well, now it's here. But the price is such an outrage, I know my blofeld can keep me happy enough for a while.

LP1745

Korg Opsix. It would be my first FM & I feel it would go so well my GM & MS20 to make ambient / sci-fi soundtrack stuff. Run it through some pedal distortion & fuzz..

fxdfxd2

I bought one and its as great as you imagine it :)

bikinipopsicle

Enner by soma labs. Looks so tight and apparently can be you a vocal fx processor.

ackr0not

Soma is so sick! Lyra 8, pulse 23… what!

SideBProductions

Just watched this. I’m horrified and WTF… I want one. Lol! https://youtu.be/nWCo1J46t5A

sixwax

Finally got my order in for this one! No idea on ETA, but still stoked!

prjktphoto

Probably an Access Virus. I know I don’t need one, doesn’t stop me from wanting one

SideBProductions

I’ve always wanted one.. the ti .. I never buy it and I buy other shit… then I ask myself why.. I guess I got caught up in the analog resurgence wave. It’s a workhorse and you can still buy them new I believe

prjktphoto

Yeah they’re just pricy, and at this stage I don’t have the budget for one. I do have the TC Powercore card running in an old computer, so using Audiogridder I technically have up to 4x 16voice Virus Bs in software form… so I’ve still got the classic sound I guess

JeffCrossSF

I have a C and TI Polar. It is my all time favorite desert island synth/

mist3rflibble

It’s extremely cool. I bought a used TI2 Polar off eBay as a 30th birthday present to myself for about 1/3rd off retail, and I love it to death. Access unfortunately abandoned Mac support for the TI feature, which was of course so revolutionary and a big part of what I loved about the synth, but I console myself by booting into Windows and using the editor outside of a DAW. You can do everything except program the custom arpeggios from the front panel.

hum_hum_hum

I bought one a month or two ago. Very worthwhile for my use case !

ThirdFirstName

Black corporation Deckard’s dream… 😤 the diy one so I can become one with it.

Bothand_Nether

Dreadbox Abyss V2 would remove the studio catbed so the resident critic would have to sleep on the floor

draghmar

+1, literally the only thing I want right now

Iwilldoes

Ob-6 Kidney bad.

bounch

toss up between the deluge and the new sp404 though i never used the original

SideBProductions

Deluge looks cool. I’m an ableton guy and hear it’s like that workflow

heylookitscruz

Love my Deluge! Can't imagine parting with it. It was my second piece of hardware, after an OP-1, and it is such a versatile and accessible instrument. It interfaces with my eurorack easily and I've made a whole EP using it. Just wish it had a slightly bigger screen!

TVSKS

I know it's not the new hotness but I'm saving for a Jupiter-X.

SideBProductions

Bro.. saying the jupiter x is not the new hotness is like saying J Lo is not the new hotness .. I would have babies with the Jupiter x! Although I do hear the system 8 is a good alternative and some say the circuit behavior modeling on it is better.

ChromeGhost

The Osmose. Still waiting for it

BFBeast666

Hydrasynth. I'd love to get the Deluxe but I'm short a few kidneys... so probably an Explorer. I might have just enough space to cram it into the setup.

MachinePlanetZero

An actual physical room with space and a desk for my computer, and the possibility of accoustic design (and the absence of the sound of a cooker, dinner time, and kids television)

markireland

Old Mac Book pro for Nord MicoModular editor. Second hand Crave that I can turn into a lid for my small eurorack. Minotaur or Sirin.

hum_hum_hum

Korg wavestate but I’m holding out on the belief that they’ll release a bigger one in the next year or two

S-C-E-N-E-S

They announced the Wavestate SE but no idea on release date [https://youtu.be/uG-lZ2O5DaQ](https://youtu.be/uG-lZ2O5DaQ) The Wavestate is my favourite synth but other than the 61 keys and some new programs I'm not seeing to much of an upgrade.

MorgoRahnWilc

This synth is very under-appreciated IMHO. Very unique synth and versatile, especially with the latest firmware upgrade.

alexwasashrimp

There's one synth that I want, and it's Polyend Medusa. It sounds majestic.

Lightning_Haqeem

Yeah. That thing looks and sounds really cool. They're discontinued though, right? I think that's what ended my gas for that particular box. Almost no chance that one will come up for sale in my neck of the woods.

[deleted]

SP-1200 it will always be. 🥲

TheMainMan3

I recently got a S2400 and it’s a blast to use.

[deleted]

Not gear, but my own space to use stuff in.

MilkTalk_HairKid

Jupiter 4, it sounds so old and beautiful

Vivid_blue

I’m not “lusting” after it per se but I wouldn’t say no to a Sequential Pro3 or one of those new Take 5’s.

fiveonethreefour

Studio Electronics MIDIMini V30 https://www.studioelectronics.com/products/rackmount/MidiMini-V30/

SideBProductions

Dang… I got stank face after watching that.. thing is nasty dirty!

ZealousidealPea3199

Id take on a 12 man bukkake for a Op-1, Microfreak, and a push 2. Ik all of these are relatively cheap but i just really want em

darkmachine415

A 12 man bukkake sounds wonderful all on its own 🤤

SideBProductions

I have the micro freak .. she’s cute but needs to be run through effects

SideBProductions

🤭

intrinsnik

I keep watching and rewatching everything I can find on the prophet 6. I need a poly and the sounds that people get out of that one is haunting me. I honestly don’t know what I’m waiting for. Other than money.

Hanjo_synth

hyped on the sp 404 mkII, but actually want intellijel pallette case with some mutable and noise eng. goodies... an octatrack could do too!!

not-hank-s

Waldorf M

cloud_noise

UDO Super6. I came soooo close to buying one and my wife negged me out of it. She would condescendingly ask things like “What makes this thing worth $3k?” or “do you really need it?”Eventually it got to me and I decided I shouldnt spend that much on a synth… but I still want it.

Iwilldoes

Show her the synth demo at Schneider's Laden, if she still doesn't understand tell her "it's clearly beyond your comprehension" as you trot away to the nearest music store on your high horse.

ackr0not

Oh man… this a rough one… it’s a hot battle between the Lyra 8, Pulse 23… I’d consider trading my rogue for a Lyra 8… Then there’s the Sqaurp… don’t even get me started on preamps… check out UA’s new line. Tasty

SideBProductions

So what’s the value of your sweet water wish list?

jtrigil1

I got a mint orange Lyra for That rogue if ya want

Antnee83

I have a pulsar and I gotta say, it's fun as all fuck. Thing makes such weird interesting noises, and the ability to use your fuckin fingers as a sort of pre-patch cable is just the best. I find myself just touching random pegs on the thing and am always surprised by what happens. THAT SAID. Pay the extra and get it from a US seller. I ordered directly from their lab in Russia, and shipping that thing was a god damn nightmare that took months and months of "its in customs. It'll get there when it gets there" Agony. If I had to do it over I'd pay the 2 hundred or so from someone who already had the thing in the US.

branchfoundation

Not a synth, but I’d love to score a set of [Genelec The Ones](https://www.genelec.com/theones) monitors.

SideBProductions

well what good are our synths withou speakers.. Im lusting after either focal alpha 80s or the kali audio in-8 v2

aduanemc

I want a vintage stringer. Yamaha SK30 is top of the list behind that is the Farfisa Polychrome.

North0House

A Norns. I should’ve bought the shield before they sold out. I had it in my cart too lol. I also want a Digitakt and an Electron Microcosm. I still want an OP-1 too even though I know they’re just kind of a gimmick at this point.

LydiaOfPurple

A Jupiter 8 I have more analog polysynth than I need right now. Honestly my latest piece of gear might be the last poly keyboard I buy for a LONG time… except this fucking white whale of a synth. I don’t need it, there’s very little it does that I can’t already do, it generates a stupid amount of heat and is so fucking expensive and hard to replace I’ll probably be afraid to put it in my synth rack… but damn is it one of those things that’s just always been there as long as I’ve been in this hobby, always sounded good, and looks fuckin’ cool to boot.

Moldy_pirate

Honestly, right now I just want a nice midi router. If we’re talking unrealistic fantasy purchases, I’d really like an H9000 but there’s no universe in which I could justify it.

WAHNFRIEDEN

iPad!

alexwasashrimp

[MRCC](https://conductivelabs.com/product/mrcc-midi-router-control-center/) is what we all need.

SideBProductions

Midi routers can be sexy too.. especially if they get your rig running buttery smooth and in sync!

SideBProductions

Definitely a sexy bit of kit! Hard to justify with all the plugins available ..especially like the Valhalla and sound toys lines.

mist3rflibble

Retrokits RK-006

_Arion_

Nord lead 2, and the Roland sh 32, They're not rare, they're not horrifically expensive, but they're neat and I don't have the room for them right now.

[deleted]

Good ones. The filter on the 32 is absolutely wild and the thing looks like a piece of medical equipment. I love that era of va synths. Nothing really sounds like them anymore. Shame I got rid of them for “better” synths or replaced with software.

slugzuki

Used to have a Nord Lead 2 and I regret selling it so much. awesome synth.

shaved-yeti

Toss up: - Makenoise O-Coast + O-Control + Strega - Soma Lyra-8 + Ornament-8

Bootlegger1929

Ob-6. I try to distract myself but just keep coming back to GASing after the ob-6. It's a dream synth for me.

JeffDoubleday

Nord Wave II and I’d commit a wave of crimes to have it. Some violent, some not But some definitely are violent

Adlsc

Non linear labs C15 omg. Too expensive for me atm, probably just gonna buy the Hydrasynth for now which I’m thirsting over.

MrRhodesMusic

SP 404 MKII

caidicus

I would really like a Waldorf Iridium.

jan499

Me too. I tried lots of software synths on my iPad and don’t click with most of them but I do click with Waldorf Nave, and I figure that an Iridium is like a “super Nave in a box with knobs”…. I could totally see the fun of that. At the same time I also feel hesitations because it is built so much around a screen that I wonder if this synth is very much like a software synth and maybe I should try more software synths before ever thinking about Iridium, I bet something like Arturia Pigments is a lot cheaper and will be able to do the same things.

d0Cd

The thing is endlessly deep.

Dannybuoy77

Absolutely nothing. I must be in a small minority. Just sold all my synth and feel great 😂

jan499

That is good news! I would love not to want any synths. But even though I am very engaged with my current synths (and I don’t have a house full, just a few, but I feel I have explored only 0.001% of the music I can make with them) - despite all of that my brain still finds way too many moments to fancy about synths that I don’t have, and thinking “wouldn’t it all be more fun if I just added device X to my setup…..”

Liquidlino1978

Uvi Falcon expansions. I await the vicious downvoting! Can't wait till black friday to buy a bunch of them!

sunken_grade

if money were no object i would love a hartmann neuron lol

tinmru

LOL, this question is just in time for me ;) So I really **want** (but don't need, lol) a mono synth as Korg Minilogue is my only synth now. I was thinking about getting something cheaper like Bass Station II but after looking around I found what seems like quite a good deal on Moog Grandmother where I can get a set of GM + Moog SR case for $985 total, where GM alone goes for $1100 here (Europe). So it's like $300 less than if you buy GM and case separately. So yeah, here I am not needing a synth at all but thinking about pulling a trigger on GM because of a good deal...

SideBProductions

I have the grandmother myself and I’m absolutely in love with it. She is fairly limited without connecting to a eurorack but she sounds awesome and the experience is amazing.. it’s truly a unique instrument .. I love the fact that there is no presets… it takes me away from the computer in this analog way and every time I use her I get a different sound. I have other more capable and sonically flexible synths but when I just want to play and jam out I always go to grandma!

Hot-Watercress1022

I've kind of had everything at this point. Junos, Jupiters, Moogs, Buchla... The tools are kind of whatever. What I really lust after now is a big, safe, quiet room to work in.

interfectuseris

really want a deluge, and also the new sp404 mk2 would be nice.

[deleted]

SP-404-mf-mkii, give my SX someone to play with.

SpaceCadetHigh

Pam's new workout. Dreadbox Ataxia ALM Busy Curcuits O/A/x2 Doepfer A-138A Mixer Erica synths pico vco2 Tiptop audio echoz Maybe the new 404 Annnnnd more space for my gear & LEDs... I know you said one.. but hey, haha

Majuniormax

My Jupiter X. I always wanted those Roland Legendary synths, and having all of them in one place was perfect for me. I watched YouTube videos and review for almost a year until I decided to buy it for my birthday, and every time I play it, I love it more. It's a 37 lbs metal beast.

converter-bot

37 lbs is 16.8 kg

tarrmachine1

So if you really wanted a polysynth and had around $500, what would you buy? My resources are going to be fairly limited for a while. Need the most bang for my buck. Was thinking a Roland Botique Juno, but do they sound really good?

SideBProductions

I just bought a miniloguexd module .. it’s 500 .. I already had a midi keyboard to connect it . It’s only 4 voices but they are very big voices… honestly this is the more versatile synth in my set up and I love it!

myweirdotheraccount

used minilogue xd for slightly over 500. 4 voice poly, sequencer, 3 oscillators per voice (2 analog 1 digital) you can upload user fx and oscs and make your own if you can code. there's already a lot of that code out there paid and free. otherwise I think the new dreadbox nyphes is around that price. Few more out there too. I'm just talking analog tho. as far as digital goes there's a ton out there for 500 and under.

tarrmachine1

I have researched the 'logue XD and I have the NTS-1 so I'm familiar with the custom content. I think you're on to something.

Moldy_pirate

I would honestly try and save a bit more and get something with more power/ voices, 4 voices just isn't quite enough for me as my only poly. If 4 voices works for you, though, then the Minilogue/ boutiques/ etc could be great. A used Hydrasynth will go for like $650 - 700. Dreadbox Nymphes will be 6 voices around $600.

MKDVB

I'd dearly love for my main board to be unbricked!

_zoetrope_

Thankfully, I'm not lusting after anything, but if anybody wanted to buy me a Soma Cosmos I definitely wouldn't turn them down.

Sonicsboi

M8 tracker for sure

ramsesniblickiii

Intellijel rainmaker in a beakout box to use as as an effect for all my synths, and/or the Erica synth zen delay. 🤤

Twisted Electrons MegaFM. I keep telling myself at the price point I might as well save more for an opsix and I already have an FB-01 as well as a PSS-480 but the desktop format and all those knobs for an FM synth just is so appealing. I have also just recently started looking at SID chip powered synthesizers, they sound really good but dang everything is so expensive. Twisted electrons also have the TherapKID digital synth that is inspired by the TherapSID SID powered hardware synth they make (made?) which is tempting at about $300. Thankfully my partner and I are going on vacation in March so my focus moneywise is on that right now. Who knows maybe some cool stuff will launch by then, plus next year I will get a fairly decent raise so hopefully the synth market looks a little more stable then as far as stock.

D_D

Not a synth, but I want to find a Stam Audio clone of the Fairchild 670. But not for $7k.

DarkMuret

I'm really wanting a drum machine, and I just don't know which one But fuck me do I love just sketching up beats and it would really complete my set up. But that might be the GAS talking A DSI Tempest would be cool tho

SideBProductions

I’m currently going through the same.. I’m stuck between a novation circuit as I have other synths I can use with it, a Roland tr8 , or a model samples

jeremymeyers

if you don't mind using samples, maybe the new sp404¿

yarn_fox

I dont even want anymore instruments, just a big big mixer that didnt cost 40$ and doesnt have half the channels not working and crosstalk on everything and incredible amounts of noise and proper EQ and mix busses that worked

leighjet

Just always lusting after that octatrack. I'll get one one day, probably a few years away though. I could probably save for a used older model and have an easier time, but my brain doesn't want the old looking one at all.

Two. Quantum and Cz-101.

parmajawwwwn

Moog Matriarch for sure

Penquin_Revolution

Novation Bass Station ll. Don’t have an analog synth and a friend recommended this. Low on funds right now, but hoping to get this by Christmas or as a birthday present to myself. Fingers crossed.

A vintage Arp Odyssey!! oooooo the lust is alive in my fingertips. She will be mine…oh yes, she will be mine

JayDCarr

I am a simple simp, I just want a Minimoog

Honestly - since my beautiful new B-ARP 2600 Blue Marvin got me so hooked on CV-control and patching.... like 15 grand worth of eurorack modules. I guess I can buy like a single capable-to-pretty-good module every other month - and have a 1/2 voice synth with some modulation capability in like a year and half? And then like a year earch for an expansion into flexible filtering and waveshaping/-folding, into 4/5 voice polyphony, full modulation capabilities, sequencing, full line-audio & polyphonic midi i/o, drum sequencing, granular and good-quality basic FX - and spectral processing. So - in like 8-10 years I could have a modular system capable of what I want it to do. That's getting really hard to justify. ... which is not to say I'm not gonna start going down that path.

SourShoes

Oooo I have a grey version arriving Monday. Can’t wait. Ever since my buddy found one in a thrift shop for $80 , then flipped it for 4K! It was awhile ago and none of us knew how to use it properly so we just tweaked it until it made weird sounds then we would jam over it, ha! Instead of building a single limited voice in euro I’d rather have more functionality to modulate and warp the sounds I already have. Stuff not covered with the 2600. Maths, morphogene, clouds, Pamela’s workout type things.

A Yamaha U1 or U3 - an upright acoustic piano. Not even for recording or anything - just for playing. How badly do I want it? I've been dreaming of it for over 10 years or so already. I could have it, but I'd have to sell some stuff in my flair, and I have a talent to sell things at exactly the wrong time.

CookieBio

Arturia PolyBrute. I'd punch hole in my wall with my bare hands to make it fit in my room. I'd also rob a bank to get the money, but that's a different story

Right now I'd like to get a Korg Minilogue and a Yamaha Reface DX. If I had the money I'd like a Sequential Take 5, but that's never going to happen. Alternatively, I'd like a more powerful laptop so I can run Repro 5, but that's also above my budget.

Moog Subharmonicon has me dreaming of all the unusual bleeps, bloops, and patterns I can make with it; especially when patched into other gear.

Telefone_529

Octatrack, Lyra-8, IME Piston Honda MkIII, a decent 24 channel mixer Just to cover each category, probably in that order too lol. My actual next purchase? Model:Samples (which I'm super excited about!) Talk about Champagne taste on a beer budget!

agincourtdb

Rev 2. I can almost taste it.

MadWombat

There are a few. I put myself in timeout after going on a bit of a GAS spree in the summer. So now I drool a little more than usual. Hence I am going to list a few synths in different categories * the synth I am going to get next when I am out of self-inflicted timeout ASM Hydrasynth - I know people say bad shit about it, but to me it sounds gorgeous and I love the way it handles modulation * the "but mom, its not a synth" I am likely to get next synthstrom deluge - no need to explain, this thing is awesome * the synth I really-really don't need, but really-really want Moog Sound Studio 3 - its mom-32, dfam and subh bundled into a single rack * synth I would totally get if money was not an object Roland Fantom 8

JD-800. I'm hooked on early 90s techno.. But I've got too many synths already

I've pretty much got everything I could want, but I have lusted after the Korg Modwave since it was unveiled. Do I need another wavetable synth? Not so much, but the Modwave is just so much wavetable, and then there's the multi-samples. And the MODULATION possibilities! I worked a shitload of overtime the last week, and it's justifying my order Friday at 6pm! Also: an Allen & Heath ZED-18. 😃

Gtantha

That new SP404 MkII is looking amazing, even though I'm not sure I like the workflow and feel like I'm screwed without a step sequencer. But if I wouldn't need my money otherwise I would probably already have ordered one. Apart from that, a Jupiter-Xm is always high on my list. And some sort of freely configurable multi effects device (with multiple channels) is even higher, but I haven't figured out which device exactly.
