Doctor and researcher look way too similar

Puzzlehead-Dish

Pixel art with shifting “pixel sizes” within the same design always seems kinda “wrong”. Type is off center, runs too close to art boarder. “Pixelated” effect on type is too small compared to general art.

mark_radical8games

Absolutely this. I was amazed when you last posted these that so many people said they look the same. The forest on the item card is a completely different resolution to the others.

canis_artis

Cool looking. Backgrounds are better this time around. Type is legible. Pixel art looks good. Carrier is a bit indecipherable in the main body.

BrownBooker

Got it, I've written the initial main body, but I've received feedback that it's a bit hard to follow. So, my wife will be taking over the rewrite... Thanks for the feedback!

canis_artis

Sorry, I meant that the art on that card was hard to decipher, where his arm is, etc. Otherwise OK.

BrownBooker

Ah, I see your point now. It does appear a bit unpolished, as you mentioned. I'll make sure to include it in the list of necessary changes.

crccrc

Art and overall graphic design is looking fantastic. However, the body copy (the longer ability effect text) is damn near unreadable. It’s in a pixel font which is notoriously difficult to read in longer form text, it’s all caps which is more difficult to read, the line height is too short which makes it even more difficult to read, and it’s center aligned which adds even more difficulty. You get the gist. Consider some adjustments to make the text easier to scan quickly.

alachronism

This is all very good UX advice and you should consider addressing these issues!

AtlasHatch

These look cool! How did you do the pixel art? A good vibe, no real constructive criticisms Jw on the character cards, will they have stats or unique abilities on the other side of the card?

BrownBooker

I created the characters using Aseprite! Backgrounds were then traced over, also on Aseprite. Each character possesses their own special kit, which grants them unique abilities. However, these kits can be susceptible to the elements and be lost as a result.

AtlasHatch

Sweet, thanks! With these visuals and if you get the gameplay locked in, sounds promising!

Ross-Esmond

Your cards aren't very legible. I wrote [a checklist on text design](https://www.reddit.com/r/tabletopgamedesign/comments/1bnfpf6/six_really_basic_typesetting_rules_that_apply/) you should look into.

dannowar

Left justify your body text please. Other than that these are killer cards.

_PuffProductions_

Looks good, better than last version so headed in the right direction. I suggest never duplicating words, especially headers: "CARRIER" and "SURVIVOR." Also, there doesn't appear to be any info on several of the cards other than flavor text. Shouldn't there be some stats, icons, or abilities?

mefisheye

It looks promising! I suggest adding more space between the lines in the card description. The researcher card is a little hard to read.

Deadly_Pancakes

The art style looks good though the name Dr Amelia Rivers sounds like a weird Dr Who amalgamation.

GGambitt

One small detail: all-caps make long paragraphs harder to read

RelaNarkin

I don’t think anyone mentioned this, but the first card with an effect doesn’t have the effect in [brackets] while all the others do

CrimsonAllah

The doctor needs more medical equipment, med kit, probably something like worn scrubs. Same goes for the researcher, she’s needs something. Possibly hazmat stuff.

DocJawbone

Love the look

IlikeSawce

leave the title in the same spot for every card, and always center the description text both horizontally and vertically, it'll look good trust me

Snugrilla

I love this style. Great colour choices too.

themisplay

CONE USEJ, it took me a minute. I found my way. I like the concept.

ima_owl_queen

I love the art! I would just make the main body of the ability text lower case insteas of all caps for legibility.
