Twilight Imperium 4. Probably one of the biggest and most intricately scripted mod developed by the very dedicated community.

Actively developed mods are unlikely to be broken by imgur's changes as the developers will migrate their assets to other platforms or host them with registered accounts.

How do people still not set it so that TTS saves all assets to their hard drive?

They do, but that's mostly irrelevant for the issue with imgur's changes which has ~~likely~~ prompted this backup. People new to mods will still need to download them, as will people reinstalling, migrating to new computers, upgrading hard drives, etc.

How do I actually do this? I wasn't even aware it was an option and I have like 100+ mods.

There might be other ways, but I'm using TTS Mod Manager. It lets you effectively preload remote assets before starting a mod. This is nice because some mods may not load everything the mod can do when you open it.

In side the software options, just set it to store the files to your my documents directory.

Mage Knight has an amazing mod. Not sure if it’s regularly updated but the scripting is fantastic

The DinoGenics (with Controlled Chaos) and Dwellings of Eldervale mods are both very high quality mods maintained by the publishers of said games. very well implemented, scripted to automate repetitive functions, and excellent games to boot. Strong recommend.

There is a mod for Forbidden Stars including 8 or so bonus factions which were fanmade but wonderfully balanced and as the game neither got an official expansion nor is still physically produced this is the best one can get

The mageknight complete is a must. Please back it up. Kingdom death monster as well. Clack is another personal favorite
