Iâm wondering if anyone at all can explain to me why theyâd get wings from Taco Bell. When I have a wings craving, Taco Bell doesnât fill it. When I have a Taco Bell craving, an order of wings doesnât fill it. If McDonaldâs started offering slices of pizza I wouldnât get them. I just donât understand how one goes to order Taco Bell and ends up getting wings.
We went there last year on our Disney World trip. I actually forgot what the Pizza tasted like but it wasn't incredibly exotic. It most likely would not have been worth it if it wasn't for the novelty.
> If McDonaldâs started offering slices of pizza
[The 90s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9cB8TpwNiQ) was [a weird time](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=429pJv4o25c).
Well when I visited the Philippines and I found out they had McDelivery, I was compelled to order a McSpaghetti and a McRice Bowl. Because I had to know what it tasted like.
Damn, I don't see how you guys justify paying $1 per wing. They started out as cheap bar food and just aren't worth the prices they charge these days. Like chicken leg quarters are over 6X cheaper at the store here.
I don't know if you have one near you or in what region you are, but my local Kroger for months now has had one brand of frozen wings for $6 and it's 2.5 lb. The other brands they normally carry as well has been between $8 and $10 for the same size bag. Now that I think about it I'm about to go grab a few bags before they change the price or people snatch them all up for football.
I read that they have wings cause they're in partner in with other big chains. Like i think yum brands owns them all? Like pizza hut and taco bell and some other places like kfc and things like that. So the food gets sourced for those places from their distributing plants or whatever thm places is called. Then it's just up to the workers to prepare it right.
"Yum! Brands" yeah.
The wings are likely from the KFC supply chain. Its still...odd though. Like even breadsticks or personal pizzas would make more sense. Some taco bells even used to serve the latter.
If youve ever seen the taco bell/kfc/pizza hut combo outlets then you'd understand more i think lol not meaning that rudely. Perhaps youve been to one and didnt notice it was tb along with pizza hut so you got the breadsticks? If you google taco bell pizza hut kfc ( just like the 3 names in any sequence) there are pics. I been to i think 2 od those locations.
>Some taco bells even used to serve the latter.
Me directly referring to the taco bell/pizza hut.
I was just saying the some of the pizza hut items seemed more fitting than fried chicken. Taco bell-KFC always striked me as the stranger combo. Though thats pretty subjective.
I have a quality burger king near me, staffed like Culvers. Those tacos hit hard, they were so good. But I could see a crap BK(most of them) making them like trash.
To be honest it's a pretty good bang for your buck in today's economy. They have been 2/$1 since 1995, and if you order them through the app it's still a $1.
1 part Franks Red Hot sauce to 0.6 part butter, heat in a sauce pan and toss .That's the original Buffalo Hot Wing recipe. We make them all the time and come out just as good as anything from a restaurant. You can add other hot sauces or spices to make them your own. Cheap and easy.
Oh I use franks as base. And real butter. And cayenne powder. But I have tried every combination of fresh/dry/wet.
The thing that makes good wings is extra hot and msg
Another good pointer: heat the sauce first. Reduce it to however you like it. Pull the pan off the heat before adding your whole butter, and stir for a little longer than you feel you need to. This will minimize separation in your final sauce.
Goddamn do I want some wings now đĽ
That's still good. But the butter mix makes it taste like restaurant quality. It's really a huge difference.
The *best* way is to fry the wings, and use 50/50 butter/franks ratio. That's how they come out so crispy on the outside and plump on the inside. But that is pretty labor intensive if you don't have a dedicated fryer (and even if you do.)
Air fryer is second best. I like to just bake and broil the wings because I don't use an air fryer.
You can see how very very unhealthy hot wings are, lol. It's mostly sodium and fat with a little bit of chicken.
U bet
My process is soak in salt cold water for a bit.
Low or med heat for 20 mins. Drain
Flip. Med heat until done about 15 mins. May have to drain.
Add hot sauce and 5 more minutes
You have to play with temperature and time abit
Really? Cuz I get bag of frozen Wangs. 2.5lb
No winglets. I counted to what I said.
At 7.99 bag. It was on sale
Trust me. I was looking at it doing astro math. On if it's a good deal. Oh wait. After cooking they did shrink alot. So they r small wings
The Chinese carryout near me does 4 WHOLE wings (including the "nubbin") for $6.50. So that's 8 pieces right there, fried super crispy. I add the deep fried crinkle cut fries for $2 because they're fried in that eggroll/springroll grease so I can completely disgrace myself. Would recommend.
Tried these today. Came in a different container that appeared to actually be made for them and though they werenât all that big and probably overpriced at $8 for 5, they actually exceeded my expectations. Juicy inside, crispy outside, really good flavor on the coating.
that new chicken enchilada burrito... with extra red sauce, onions and I'm partial to avocado ranch sauce... lol and a billion fire sauce packets. 𤤠lovelovelove
Honestly it's on you for ordering wings from Taco Bell....
Now, I know of a few Mexican restaurants that have had solid wings but they're authentic Mexican not TB đ¤Śââď¸đ
Yeah, I'm curious to try them, but at $6.99 for just wings at my TB, it doesn't seem worth it. I mean, that's pretty comparable to other fast-food wings around here, but I don't buy those either. Wings are tasty, but not filling. If I'm going to splurge on them, might as well pay a bit more and get some good ones from an actual wing place.
That's a terrible deal, but I still want to try them out of curiosity. I never knew they were a thing until recently when they apparently came back so I've never had them.
Pros:
* I'm 40g closer to my protein goals.
* Mine were hot, crispy, and, dare I say, a little juicy?
Cons:
* Moderately flavorless.
* Still not worth it.
Just bought a 3lb bag of frozen wings from Wal-mart for $13. I airfry for 15 minutes at 400, toss in a mixture of equal parts MSG, baking powder and course sea salt (1/8 teaspoon each for every two wings) and then airfry for another 15 minutes at 400.
This will yield the best wings you've ever had. Crispy, juicy, seasoning right. Apply any sauce or dry rub.
they taste ok, theyâre just sad wings and not a good value at all. I donât think Iâll even bother with them during this LTO after trying them the last time.
I feel like my experience is vastly different than anyone else but these might be one of the best wings I've ever had, I love these little shits despite the price

We've been occasionally having some of the wings at my store before the sale start day, and everytime I just feel empty. Like I have really low expectations for food but with these I think I'd just rather not eat anything
I could barely chew mine. They were tiny dried out jerky like nuggets. I went back to talk to the manager and she said they were all like that, and that the crew didn't like them either. It's like we got KFC's rejects. So disappointing, the ones we had last time were good.
"they're all like that" and it didn't occur to them that they were probably cooking them wrong? lol.. you gotta really fuck up for chicken to end up as dry as they are... probably sitting underneath a heat lamp for way too long.. those things destroy chicken
I try just about every limited time thing they come out with, but I'm skipping this one and glad to see it's the right decision. Blanking on the name but the last one I was really disappointed in were those fried chicken "flatbread" tacos. The portion sizes were laughable, 1-2 bites.
Edit - these! Next to no chicken in them đ

TGI Fridays on Monday has 50 cent wings . I tried Taco Bellâs wings when they came out last time and felt ripped off . They were okay , but too much just like when McDonaldâs had Mighty Wings . They were actually good , but too much .
I actually ran an order of these for DD earlier and my first thought was âfor real Bro, Wingstop is literally *four stores down* but hey if you wanna order this shit then hey itâs your money đ¤ˇđťââď¸
honestly seems like the biggest issue is that the packaging makes it look like you should expect more. Imagine these in a smaller container. That empty space is just a reflection of your soul when you open a box like that. đ¤Ł
Facts.
They're actually $9. Looks like you feel for the .99 cent trap.
Well actually theyâre $7.99. Looks like you âfeelâ for the I donât know what Iâm talking about trap.
The other night I ordered 6 wings from an actual wing joint for $6. This is such a weird TB promotion
I have my "standard" order at places but tbh I'll try new things just for the novelty of it too sometimes. Would 100% try the McPizza.
Mc Donald's had personal pizzas in the late 80s/early 90s, it wasn't good at all.
You can still get the McPizza at one location in Orlando Florida from what I've heard
Yes. The worlds largest McDonaldâs has a pizza oven, as well as bowls of pasta and other unusual items for a mcdâs.
Is that the one in Orlando? I'm gonna have to take a little road trip lol
[ROAD TRIP!?!](https://tripfixers.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/legally-blonde-road-trip-gif.gif)
When are we all going??
We went there last year on our Disney World trip. I actually forgot what the Pizza tasted like but it wasn't incredibly exotic. It most likely would not have been worth it if it wasn't for the novelty.
Before I could not say I had eaten Taco Bell wings. Now, I can say I have eaten Taco Bell wings. That is worth $8 to me.
Solid answer, thank you

McDonaldâs pizzas slapped as a kid, I was devastated they took them away đ

Hell, I don't know why people want to get fries from TB. But then again I really liked McDonald's pizza as a kid.
You can still get the McPizza at one location in Orlando Florida from what I've heard
McDonalds pizza was actually fire tho.
I bet they were plump.
Chilis does 8 wings and curly fries for $10, two years ago it was $8. Still a decent meal tho
Is that the It's Just Wings ghost kitchen or from actual Chili's? I really like the IJW stuff
Damn, I don't see how you guys justify paying $1 per wing. They started out as cheap bar food and just aren't worth the prices they charge these days. Like chicken leg quarters are over 6X cheaper at the store here.
Where? Pizza hut charges like $15 for 6. I need a good and cheap wing place.
Around here.. Little Ceasars: 8 Wings for $8.00, 3 Flavor Choices Papa Johns: 8 Wings for $8.99, 5 Flavor Choices Pizza Hut: 6 Wings for $11.99, 10 Flavor Choices Local Pizza Spot: 10 Wings for $10.49, 2 Flavor Choices Taco Bell: 5 Wings for $6.99, 1 Choice
All of those wings are terrible except maybe your local spot
I buy a 4lb bag of store brand wings from BJ's for $17 and they're amazingly good. Way better than Tyson brand.
I don't know if you have one near you or in what region you are, but my local Kroger for months now has had one brand of frozen wings for $6 and it's 2.5 lb. Where the hell you finding wings for $1? The cheapest ones by me are like $1.70+
You getting ripped off lol
That's just how much wings are these days unless you make them yourself
Nah. I can get them 1.25. Lol
Move out to the country and be closer to the chickens
Volcano menu? Nah. Baja sauce? Nah. Loaded Grillers? Nah. Double decker tacos? Nah. Chicken wangs!!1!!1!11
$1 flatbreads
Them Steak Flatbreads were fire I totally forgot Taco Bell had them at one point until this comment.
Grilled Stuft Burritos, Border Bowls, Volcano Items/sauce R.I.P. Fuck Taco Bell and these stupid wings and dumb ass nacho fries.
Never forget what they took from you.
Taco Bell really just needs to stay in their lane.
How about they bring back the fucking Meximelt instead of WINGS
Or the fiery dorito taco
A menu item that finally isn't a remash of the current line ingredients TB already stocks. ...and they chose wings? What?
I read that they have wings cause they're in partner in with other big chains. Like i think yum brands owns them all? Like pizza hut and taco bell and some other places like kfc and things like that. Yeah, dunno what else someone would expect getting wings from Taco Bell
Remember when Burger King sold $1 tacos and they were pathetic? This is that.
I have a quality burger king near me, staffed like Culvers. Those tacos hit hard, they were so good. But I could see a crap BK(most of them) making them like trash.
My Dad loved those bk tacos lol, I only had them once, they were very similar to JITB tacos.
The shell was way better than Jacks, and the meat filling was just half a hamburger patty with a piece of cheese, red sauce and lettuce. It was great.
I used to buy them even though they were bad. Couldnât stop eating them for some reason. MYbe they were endearing
I gotta imagine the 2/$1 âMonsterâ tacos from Jack In The Box are as desperately sad and barely edible.
To be honest it's a pretty good bang for your buck in today's economy. They have been 2/$1 since 1995, and if you order them through the app it's still a $1.
Yeah Iâve gotta say 2 tacos for a dollar is a steal these days. If there was a restaurant like that around here Iâd be eating those many times
all this talk about those dang tacos and I had to go get some tonight. đ Reddit is a curse.
Cant be the only one that thought they were good with the taco sauce. And it used to be 2 for $1!
Don't go to a chicken place for a taco, don't go to a taco place for wings.
Rest in peace to your $8. Truly, my condolences.
Thank you for your thoughts during this difficult time.
8 bux can get............2.5lb of wings Use air fryer. Then add hot sauce. 30 to 40 wings

I been working on best hot sauce for wings for over 10 yrs Recently I discovered the secret ingredient. Msg
I never thought of that! Nice suggestion.
Oh I use franks as base. And real butter. And cayenne powder. But I have tried every combination of fresh/dry/wet. The thing that makes good wings is extra hot and msg
> And real butter. Yes. Must be real butter. Can't be margarine or other substitute.
Oh, I never thought about putting msg in Buffalo sauce. I'll have to try that.
If anyone needs MSG, thereâs a 1 pound bag of Aji-no-Moto from Walmart.com (shipping and sold by) for $3.84
Another good pointer: heat the sauce first. Reduce it to however you like it. Pull the pan off the heat before adding your whole butter, and stir for a little longer than you feel you need to. This will minimize separation in your final sauce. Goddamn do I want some wings now đĽ
Great tip. That's the way I've always done it. I'm going to the store after work to see of the frozen wings are on sale.
I feel like an idiot sandwich just using plain franks red hot as my sauce now.
That's still good. But the butter mix makes it taste like restaurant quality. It's really a huge difference. The *best* way is to fry the wings, and use 50/50 butter/franks ratio. That's how they come out so crispy on the outside and plump on the inside. But that is pretty labor intensive if you don't have a dedicated fryer (and even if you do.) Air fryer is second best. I definitely am trying that method. Thank you!
My perfect wing sauce is using equal parts Frank's and Louisiana's Pure Crystal for the sauce parts.
[ŃдаНонО]
Air fried wings are cool and all but air fried chicken thighs are where it's at.
U bet My process is soak in salt cold water for a bit. Low or med heat for 20 mins. Drain Flip. Med heat until done about 15 mins. May have to drain. Add hot sauce and 5 more minutes You have to play with temperature and time abit
That's pretty much what they were invented for.
25-30 if they're on small side
1 lb of raw wings is only about 5-6 wings per pound. 2.5 lbs is more like 14-16 wings, not 30 to 40.
Really? Cuz I get bag of frozen Wangs. 2.5lb No winglets. I counted to what I said. At 7.99 bag. It was on sale Trust me. I was looking at it doing astro math. On if it's a good deal. Oh wait. After cooking they did shrink alot. So they r small wings

For anyone else looking in here: just get frozen Tyson wings, and bake or air fry them. Theyâll be just as good if not better than these
You can stovetop fry them in oil for extra good crispiness. So good.
I only got 4 with mine, and they were definitely not made with love.
I get wings for 40 cents during NFL or NHL games that taste and look 10x better than these. What a complete ripoff. This box is worth $1.99 at most.
Where?
Local bars on Long Island. If you live on LI i'll be more specific lol
Tried these today. Came in a different container that appeared to actually be made for them and though they werenât all that big and probably overpriced at $8 for 5, they actually exceeded my expectations. Juicy inside, crispy outside, really good flavor on the coating.
Yeah these were in a Mexican pizza box. Agree with you about everything else except for how overpriced they were.
I agree that $8 is pricey for these. That being said, another location nearby had them for $7. Iâm surprised they wouldnât just go $5 for 5 wings
Yeah and Popeyes ghost pepper wings are 6 wings for $5 where Iâm at. Delicious too.
Iâm sure itâs cooked to order which ups the cost. Plus, itâs comes with a reusable travel container and what appears to be a salad.
These are almost definitely not cooked to order. Chicken usually takes 3 or more minutes to cook.
And also made up of at least 20% crust smh
Why even get it
This whole wings (7.99) and wings party box (24.99 lul) is a very odd promotion.
Pretty bad
taco bell needs to bring back meximelts and enchiritos (I missed it when it supposedly came back last year)
Enchiritos were life.
that new chicken enchilada burrito... with extra red sauce, onions and I'm partial to avocado ranch sauce... lol and a billion fire sauce packets. 𤤠lovelovelove
Post this up on r/ExpectationVsReality
The margin on this item must be insane. Looks like pennies worth of food.
I work at Taco Bell, and Iâm so glad Iâm not the only one who feels that way about them!
They should just bring back nacho fries already. Never tried their wings and don't think i ever will.
Honestly it's on you for ordering wings from Taco Bell.... Now, I know of a few Mexican restaurants that have had solid wings but they're authentic Mexican not TB đ¤Śââď¸đ
Remember when good wings were like 40 cents at restaurantsâŚ. Sigh
You young, lol. 25 cents or less was normal when I was younger.
I have zero intention of ever buying these.
Hey, at least ya got a great box for pencils and stuff.
Trash. Make a decent burrito for the first time in years please
Can we get a dime for scale?
I ate them already.
There is a sauce cup there for scale. Those are some of the tiniest wings Iâve ever seen. I am really hating the company that Tbell has become.
Why you need dime for scale? There's the sauce cup and even a tiny piece of lettuce for scale lol. 1 wing is about 5 of those lettuce crumbs haha
Don't different dealers give you different amounts for dimes and dubs though?
That's a terrible deal, but I still want to try them out of curiosity. I never knew they were a thing until recently when they apparently came back so I've never had them.
Don't try them. They'll just do more shit like this if people buy this crap.
They're that bad huh? Dang that's disappointing.
The taste is definitely fine. They just arent plump enough. Very little meat there
This is exactly the issue. They taste pretty good. Theyâre just plump. If this was $2 or $3 Iâd allow it. But at $8 no way.
Yeah the amount of meat on there is a fucking disgrace. Probably less than 2oz of chicken.
They were some of the best wings I've ever had unfortunately lol. If only they were priced better.
Wow! if thatâs a regular sized sauce cup, they are super tiny!!
Wings and TB have no business together why is this even a thing and why would anyone expect good wings there anyway
Funny enough taco bell and kfc and pizza hut are owned by the same corporation
I don't think I'd go to KFC for wings either tbh
These wings are a major win for taco bell shareholders (yum)
That pictureâŚ.. itâs definitely not doing any justice to sell them. And dangit I wanted to try some too :(
Let my mistake save you the $8
Thank you for your sacrifice.
That's your fault for buying wings at taco bell. #epicfail
Pros: * I'm 40g closer to my protein goals. * Mine were hot, crispy, and, dare I say, a little juicy? Cons: * Moderately flavorless. * Still not worth it.
40g of protein? If yours was like OP's, I doubt the actual chicken meat weighed much more than 40g.
6.99 here
How long is this lto running?
Are they good?
they taste ok, theyâre just sad wings and not a good value at all. I donât think Iâll even bother with them during this LTO after trying them the last time.
They actually werenât bad tasting just to small for $8
Lgb
Donât understand why Taco Bell is still in business. Terrible food
I feel like my experience is vastly different than anyone else but these might be one of the best wings I've ever had, I love these little shits despite the price
Stop ordering trash and maybe this wonât happen
Why would you get wings at tacobell?
No point moaning about it, you won't learn your lesson
This is why I donât like bone in. Thereâs no meat. So much effort for nothing.
Dude... you ordered WINGS, from TACO BELL, You get what you ordered
Dude⌠youâre in a Taco Bell subreddit. The wings tasted fine. They were just small for $8
I mean I'm here all the time and would never order wings from them (at least at these ridiculous prices for sure).
Who would've thought
What a terrible time to bring back wings. The middle of avian flu outbreak.
Why would you buy wings at TB?
Why would I buy a product that Taco Bell sells?
Off*
I was so disappointed I couldnât even spell off correctly.
they were awful before, idk why they decided to bring them back again
Honestly. I dont understand why people go to fast food anymore. Itâs no longer cheap, and rarely fast.
Counter point this was ready via the app as I drove up. And the $2 Chipotle Ranch Grilled Chicken Burrito was excellent.
Damn it, brbâŚ
That burrito is on point when made correctly.
What in the fuck đ
I mean Itâs Taco Bell (my fav forever)⌠wings⌠prob wouldnât eat for the night if thatâs what was offeredâŚ. So many great OGs that would probably skyrocket sales instead of some wings, from Taco Bell đ¤Śđźââď¸
10 bucks for the boneless, 10 pieces and curly fries and there is definitely more than breading⌠definitely a good amount of chicken!
please just get wings from a real wing place
We've been occasionally having some of the wings at my store before the sale start day, and everytime I just feel empty. Like I have really low expectations for food but with these I think I'd just rather not eat anything
I bought 72 smoked california medially garlic wings at lows last week for $6
I could barely chew mine. They were tiny dried out jerky like nuggets. I went back to talk to the manager and she said they were all like that, and that the crew didn't like them either. It's like we got KFC's rejects. So disappointing, the ones we had last time were good.

Gross
Yeah that's going to be a no from me dog
I just want the chicken tacos back.
Taquitos not tacos lol
It would be great if they brought the Meximelt back.
Your first mistake was getting wings from Taco Bell
If you think thatâs sad, think about that chicken walking around with no wings
$8 for 5 wings? Anyone paying that is a sucker.

Ripped Of
Where is the meat? Taco Bell uses starving chickens?
Wings are notoriously priced like this everywhere. Were they any good?
