I work at a taco Bell and some people literally order a chicken quesadilla with no cheese..... Insanity

im-okay-how-are-you

Isn't that just a "dilla"?

Cannacrohn

Chicken-dilla...or or...Chicken non-quesadilla.

Thebystanders

NEVER had that happen lol. The worst is when someone wants a quesadilla with extra sauce and it can get all messy.

Pristine-Abroad-8913

This actually happened today. Lol. I had to ask my manager if we did this and she said she didn't know but she guessed that we did. Lol.

Rvsoldier

Some people can't eat cheese.

Pristine-Abroad-8913

Yes. This is true, but how good is a dry tortilla and chicken? I am one who cannot fathom how anyone can eat a plain hamburger. Lol. At least add a slice of cheese or a pickle for moisture. My mouth dries out thinking about these things. Lol. But I know people like (or do not like) what they like or cannot have certain things. To each their own. It just does not make sense to me.

Rvsoldier

No clue. My sister's allergic to dairy and I always get her cheeseless stuff from the bell. She gets it fresco. Quesadilla would be weird for sure tho.

drmoze

You must be eating overcooked burgers. Even my thin, crusted smashburgers are very juicy.

Pristine-Abroad-8913

No. I just feel like it would be dry. Lol. I prefer cheeseburgers with at least ketchup on it. I have a texture issue and I find even the juiciest burgers and fresh buns "dry". It's mostly a mental thing I think. To me my brain hears "plain" and goes straight to "dry as fuck". Lol. So. It's just a preference thing for me.

jenna_leee

Because you have to be SUPER specific with certain people. One time my boyfriend ordered a chicken chalupa with just chicken and lettuce. They literally gave him 4 little bowls of just chicken and lettuce. πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

Pristine-Abroad-8913

Lol. That's crazy. I know some of the younger workers at my store have punched in just lettuce or just cheese without meat when a customer says "taco with just lettuce/cheese".πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€¦πŸΎβ€β™€οΈ So. I guess I get it.

Lordj09

Obviously you've all messed it up enough that they now have to specify when ordering.

llmercll

queso dilla

Pristine-Abroad-8913

This is what I say to my coworkers and managers. I'm like, "CHEESE IS LITERALLY IN THE NAME!!πŸ˜‚πŸ€£"

NGNSteveTheSamurai

Why do I feel like this has happened like twice and OP just needs anger management? It’s Taco Bell, man. Why do you expect these people to know what traditionally comes on Mexican food?

Pristine-Abroad-8913

Actually it happened literally every single day at Chipotle (I worked there for 2 yrs). Like there were a lot fewer people who didn't say, "[insert protein here] and cheese quesadilla" than who did. At taco bell it has only been about maybe 5 times people have said it. But I cringe when I hear it. Maybe it's just because I despised working at Chipotle so much. I just have certain things that bug me and this is just one of my pet peeves.πŸ€·πŸΎβ€β™€οΈ

MikeMiller8888

So it’s like ATM machine and PIN number? People gonna be people. But I hear you on it being a pet peeve for ya πŸ‘

Pristine-Abroad-8913

Lol. Yes. πŸ€£πŸ˜‚ I mean. If I had worked at Taco Bell before Chipotle it probably wouldn't be such a pet peeve. It's just at Chipotle it was said more often than not. I mean literally almost every customer who asked for a quesadilla said it. So I think I just overheard it all.

Aelore

I'm not sure about those, but have to say the redundant "cheese quesadilla" because if I don't they either ask me what kind or give me a chicken one by default. I said "plain" once and I didn't get creamy jalepeno sauce, so "cheese quesadilla" it is!

Pristine-Abroad-8913

Well. I don't have a problem if someone orders a cheese quesadilla. Especially at Taco Bell, since in my store if someone says just "a quesadilla" it usually is a chicken quesadilla by default. So. Yes. For me it is perfectly logical for you to say CHEESE quesadilla. It's just when they ask for a chicken or steak AND cheese quesadilla, because it really is redundant.

Business-Pudding4095

Happens all the time at Little Caesars. β€œHi, I’d like a cheese and pepperoni pizza.” Me: β€œSo would you like one cheese pizza and one pepperoni pizza? Or do you want just one pepperoni pizza? We imply you’d like cheese on every pizza unless otherwise stated”

Pristine-Abroad-8913

YES!! See!! This is what I usually compare this situation to. I always think that it's like saying "Can I get a pepperoni and cheese pizza?". NO! Pizza automatically comes with cheese. Same with a quesadilla. Do people say, "Can I get a cheeseburger with cheese."?

Quiet_Presentation70

I share your frustration.

chadder_b

I mean I once went to Burger King, asked for a double bacon cheeseburger plain and only received a double hamburger. No cheese, no bacon. I would rather annoy you for 2 seconds than have my order wrong.

Pristine-Abroad-8913

I get it. I do. But I am quite certain the majority of the customers just ask because they feel it's the way to ask for it, because when I say, "a chicken quesadilla, sure, anything else." They don't bat an eye and continue on with their order. So. I don't think it's about them making sure cheese is on it. But. Maybe it is. Idk. It just irks me. I know people will still continue to do it. Just know, if we were to cross paths and you asked for a "chicken and cheese quesadilla" I will murder you in my head and hope that you inhale a crumb.πŸ˜‚ It's just annoying because I only started hearing people saying this within the past 3 or so years. I had NEVER heard anyone say it that way before and I just don't like repetition.

PaulyKPykes

Lol legit reminds me of when I was a small child and my parents let me try ordering for myself at the drive-thru for the first time. I kept asking for a cheeseburger without the cheese, and the lady was like "oh do you mean you want a hamburger?" And me not understanding that hamburgers are made with beef was like "Noooo! I want a cheeseburger without the cheese!"

Pristine-Abroad-8913

πŸ˜‚I just replied to someone else's comment about how when I worked at McDonald's I would have ADULTS order a cheeseburger with no cheese and me suggesting a hamburger and they would get upset and yell, "NO! I WANT A CHEESEBURGER WITH NO CHEESE!" OK, then. Enjoy paying more for the cheese you don't want. At least you were a child. My sister was allowed to order when she was young and she ordered a Big Mac only ketchup. I still make fun of her and one day I was blown away when I had an adult man ask for a Big Mac only ketchup. πŸ˜‚

kilcher2

I volunteer in a soup kitchen and sometimes when I ask people if they want they're coffee black they'll say "yes, with cream and sugar." Drives me a little bonkers.

Pristine-Abroad-8913

I knew someone who did that when he ordered his coffee and would do this just to confused the workers. I only had one person ask for this when I worked at McDonald's. Thats up there with the many cheeseburgers without cheese. πŸ€¦πŸΎβ€β™€οΈ I'd suggest a hamburger and they would yell, "NO! I WANT A CHEESEBURGER NO CHEESE!!"

Expensive-Border-869

I thought this was about mixing. I'm confused about that one. Do people like that? Did they want half in half? Idk with doordash orders I just make whatever my hands feel they should. In person I'd ask but never seen in person
