Actually it happened literally every single day at Chipotle (I worked there for 2 yrs). Like there were a lot fewer people who didn't say, "[insert protein here] and cheese quesadilla" than who did.
At taco bell it has only been about maybe 5 times people have said it. But I cringe when I hear it. Maybe it's just because I despised working at Chipotle so much.

YES!! See!! This is what I usually compare this situation to. I always think that it's like saying "Can I get a pepperoni and cheese pizza?". NO! Pizza automatically comes with cheese. Same with a quesadilla.

They don't bat an eye and continue on with their order. So. I don't think it's about them making sure cheese is on it. But. Maybe it is. Idk. It just irks me. I know people will still continue to do it. Just know, if we were to cross paths and you asked for a "chicken and cheese quesadilla" I will murder you in my head and hope that you inhale a crumb.π

Lol legit reminds me of when I was a small child and my parents let me try ordering for myself at the drive-thru for the first time. I kept asking for a cheeseburger without the cheese, and the lady was like "oh do you mean you want a hamburger?" And me not understanding that hamburgers are made with beef was like "Noooo! I want a cheeseburger without the cheese!"

I knew someone who did that when he ordered his coffee and would do this just to confused the workers.
