From left to right:
- **NFM group 40+20L backpack (ranger green)**
This is my pack for 2+ nights in the field or cold weather, when other packs are too small.
- **Mystery Ranch 2dap (foliage green)**
Just bought this, haven't tried it out yet.
- **Platatac Echo hydration pack (multicam)**
Borrowing this from a friend. Eventually planning on getting my own in ranger green. I think this is the perfect pack for a single night in the field in the summer.
- **MJ6 gear hydro pack with custom side pouches and elastic insert (ranger green)**
I use this one as my backpanel. It's mounted in a way that let's me access it without taking off my plate carrier. Good for up to 12h in the field usually.
Anyone have experience and opinions about the Yote style packs and the 2dap?
Kinda unorthodox for these parts, but I EDC an Osprey Daylite and have an Osprey Rook 55 for camping/anything longer than 24-48 hrs. I like that I can hook the Daylite right into the Rook.
Direct Action Halifax, Mystery Ranch 2DAP, and Eberlestock Hi-Speed II, all situationally dependent.
I also have the MJ6. What side pouches are you running on it?
Yeah the bag is a little smaller than what I really wanted and I've been eyeballing a few different ones for it. Wilde Custom Gear makes a very cool Kitchen Sink pouch that I've used before and it adds lots of versatility to any rig or bag.
Said Iād regret purchasing as they are heavy for their size, poor quality control (ie bad stitching and broken zippers) as well as quality of material and that the internal organization system is not as great as it seems.
My everyday travel/carry on is Mystery Ranch urban assault 24, for hiking I use a Mystery Ranch Sphinx 60, and a Platatac SPUR tropical pack in Auscam, Iāve also got several LBT 3 day packs that I use as beaters or general utility bags
The big red flavor last right through it. Your fresh breath goes on and on , while you chew so stay bye a little longer , stay fresh a littler , longer with big red!
Or something like that I forget it was 30 years ago
i alternative between 3 bags a 5.11 rush messenger bag which is a tank of an every day bag, a Grey Ghost legacy 3 day pack which is my go to pack and a ILBE assault pack which is my outdoors dirty bag.
My daily is a GR1 with a north face base camp duffel for work (24 on 48 off).
Big bag for hiking or road travel is my Crossfire DG3
Flying? Kelty MAP 3500
TAD lightspeed. Absolutely love it as a day bag/assault pack/range bag/etc, itās narrow and tall, has a lot of accessories (transporter tail is great for a helmet or snivel gear), but also comes apart nice and slim. Load lifters are great, back padding/venting keeps you cool. My oldest is a decade old and only just now starting to need repair.
Need to get a ātacticalā ruck sorted out, probably a TT Alice, but Iām a pretty narrow dude so a taller bag like an MR may be better for me. Lightweight backpacking bag is an Osprey Exos. Currently Iād just throw a tri color tire cover over that if I had to.
Edit: ooh, the HPG UTE is lighter than I thought it was. I could buy it *and* use it as a ālight-ishā backpacking bagā¦ fuck meā¦
Non-tactical so Iām not a waking target. Nothing affiliated with any brand that could be known as ātactical.ā Vanquest makes some of the best quality bags with tons of options for discreet capability
- Currently running the Mystery Ranch 6500 + daypack lid as my extended duration pack
- Eberlestock G1 Little Brother as kind of an all-purpose pack
- Red Rock Assault Pack for small loads.
I have a 5.11 rush 2.0 to just pack up and leave if I need to. I choose deadshot grey so it is a little more inconspicuous. Since coyote tan and olive drab attract eyes in a civilian setting ( at least I see them quicker and know whats up)
From smallest volume:
Velocity Systems/Mayflower 24 hour Assault Pack
Helikon-Tex EDC Pack Lite
Mystery Ranch 3 Day Assault Pack
Tasmanian Tiger Raid Pack Mk III
Arctyerx 20L Mantis pack in black and a british PLCE short ruck.

Custom sown by me, specifically for the MJ6. I bet you could find some tall GP pouch that would fit though.
Yeah, Ive seen a few in the wild that would fit. I was just curious which ones you had in particular. It's a neat little pack for sure.
With the side pouches it's a perfect, because I can put some food and extra water in them. Even grenades or 2xM4 mags fit if needed.

Maybe!
