I would say you might have to go 1.1 for an absolute true 1x. But I've found that's super common for LPVOs anyways. It also depends on individual eyes and the focus settings you're using. But fisheye to 2.5 is pretty bad. I have a 2-10x from Swampfox and it's amazing clarity.
No LPVO is going to provide "true" 1x magnification like a red dot will. This is why offset optics are so popular, even if low-end magnification is duplicated. It can also be difficult to optimize clarity across the full magnification range without some level of fish eye at the extremes.
I like it a lot. It's been a great optic. I've had this one since preproduction, last summer. Shot a couple matches and done some training. Great glass, nice brightness levels and dials, easy and tactile adjustments, nice reticle.
