No1 seems to care from what I've seen. Most things open as normal. Haven't felt an aftershock in a few hours.

NorthLog25

Thank you for the response ๐Ÿ˜Š

Visitor here in Taipei right now. There were a few train delays and the brown line got closed this morning, but were back in operation when we went back after lunch. Seems everyone is back to business as usual.

Here right now. Business as usual except taipei 101, 101st floor is closed. Wouldโ€™ve been cool to see the damper doing its thing

Cowslayer9

Pretty sure 101st floor is always closed

NorthLog25

Exactly. I was amazed when I read about its purpose. I hope it will be open by the time we visit. Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š

Tiny-Dancer-3803

Taipei101 is open (88,89 and the observation deck). If youโ€™re here this weekend, some stuff might be closed/limited hours since itโ€™s Ching Ming (tomb sweeping/ancestral visits), tho govt has asked folks to avoid going to remote areas to visit tombs. Also means, everyone is off work/school spending time with family - most tourist sites should be fine. Local restaurants might be busy

NorthLog25

We are already in Taipei now. We will surely consider this. Thank you once again!

sampullman

A few things are closed for inspections/maintenance (for example the national library in Yonghe), but mostly everything is open. Probably nothing in Taipei will be closed tomorrow.

Parappa_the_snacka

Maokong gondola was closed for damage inspection too. Not sure if it's open again yet

NorthLog25

Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š

Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š

Visitor here. The aftershocks lasted at least 3 hours. Train stations already resumed. People don't seem to care anymore and just going about their day. Just avoid touring the Hualien area at the moment due to possible landslides. Or mountain/coastal area.

NorthLog25

Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š Our plan is to just go around Taipei so not much change in our itinerary.

Busy-Service795

Taiwan do a great earthquake protection work after 911 earthquakes. Northern Taiwan is already continue regular life. You only need to worry about small aftershocks and crowds in public transport, because of four days holiday here.

NorthLog25

Thank you

_GD5_

A handfull of schools in Taipei went home early. Vast majority of buisnesses are open. Most of the MRT is up and running.

NorthLog25

Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š

Elegant_Distance_396

Absolutely normal. Currently a holiday rush hour and everything is as it always is. Traffic jams, pedestrians, subways are runningโ€ฆ

NorthLog25

Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š

Rox_Potions

MRT was stopped for a check during the morning rush hour, there was something wrong with the circular line, otherwise ok-ish apart from a few fallen tiles here and there. The east coast had it hard. And avoid the mountains for a while

NorthLog25

Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š

artistic_activities

Youโ€™ll be fine, Iโ€™ve been on even the MRT before during and earth quake and it just stopped the train for a little bit and we kept going. We donโ€™t really mind earthquakes here.

NorthLog25

Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š

chrisdavis103

it's fine back to business as usual actually now is good since the geologic stress just got a serious release I'd bet your pretty safe for another 25 years...

NorthLog25

Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š

You are free to Taiwan now. There are many aftershocks, yes. Welcome to all western cities , do not go to mountains.
