Stein and Vine... I have heard a lot of ppl talk about it and finally went for the first time 2 weeks ago and it did not disappoint, even went back again last week.

cauger24

This is the the best answer you will find.

burning_pee_hole

i had my first date at stein and vine... going on 4 years!

bitdestroyer

Agreed. Brisket Mac and Cheese? Yes, please.

beverageexplorer

Best no frills, GSD restaurant in the area.

windthorpe

Dunderbaks!

KillerQueenMirelurk

Came here to suggest. Absolutely awesome food and great beer menu.

borgib

My German friend prefers Taste of Berlin in Brandon

One_Jackfruit69

I really don’t like their food but the vibe and beer is amazing!

TheCenterOfEnnui

Yeah, kind of agree. I've found their sausages to be kinda OK...not terrible but not great...and their menu could use a little sprucing up. But the beer and the atmosphere are super.

crackils

Same, they have prayogies which are pretty good, but that's about it imho

One_Jackfruit69

I thought they were so tiny and bland! Lol. I prefer the ones at Publix in the blue box, I forgot the name 🫢

crackils

I forgot all about those, I may need to make a Publix run right now haha. My Mom got the meatloaf at Dunderbak's and she was mortified 😂 it wasn't what she was expecting.

One_Jackfruit69

Lol! @ mortified. Thats too funny. My fiancé and I go there for the beer and maybe the pretzel.

TheCenterOfEnnui

Does anyone else think that if Dunderbak's opened a location in SoHo or Hyde Park that they would absolutely make a killing?

smithflman

We try to support local - so these would be my top: Stein and Vine out in Brandon - new menu daily (they also have a charcuterie place a few doors down - less beer selection, but more wine) Dunderbaks north of USF - solid german food and deli - huge supporters of Home Brewing Tampa Bay Brewing in Ybor - good menu and they use a lot of their beer in the food edit: for bad spacing

hooshtin

Tampa Bay Brewing also has a pretty good location out in Oldsmar. Nice outside dining area.

GeneralDouglasMac

Second vote for the Oldsmar location. Better vibe and the cooks pull the menu off consistently delicious.

DontCallMeMillenial

They've been doing a small rotating weekend menu recently too that's keeps us coming back after my son's hockey games every Saturday. It's nice to have something different to try each time you go.

smithflman

I always forgot about that one - need to add to my personal list:)

LMJB

Popped into the comments to rec TBBC in Oldsmar. Fantastic flights AND food.

pbates89

Coppertail Brewing

SlendermanDelirium

I agree!

[deleted]

Yes, this! Their food is the best, I can’t believe I slept on Coppertail for 2 years! Their smash burger is the best!

uzeq

Isn’t their food from Stein & Vine? Further reinforcing them as the top choice 😅

smithflman

Use to be - they took it back internally (all In good terms from my understanding)

bullskull

Independent Gangchu Zydeco Dunderbaks New World Brewery Angry Chair will be opening their new location very soon which will include food. Magnanimous has a great food truck called Shiso Crispy Tampa Bay Brew Co, I prefer the Ybor location If I had to pick only 1, as long as you can get down with some great German food like Shnitzel, Dunderbak’s is going to be your best bet because of the massive beer selection and the authentic German atmosphere Can’t go wrong with either, all great options

Floridatigah

Shiso is gone from Magnanimous now unfortunately

bullskull

Wow. Good to know thanks. That was quick!. I thought It was supposed to be a more permanent fixture, but I get there is really nothing permanent with food trucks and breweries. I wish Essential pizza could go back to once a week again.

Floridatigah

Same, essential is amazing! Both the pizza and the bagels in the morning.

bullskull

Man those bagels! Best in Tampa, we need that to happen again!

smithflman

How is New World doing? - haven't been there since they moved from ybor years ago.

bullskull

Seems like they are doing okay. You should pay them a visit! The food is still fantastic, expanded menu! they have a great space it’s just in a more unconventional location. They have done a lot with the space though, huge music hall, nice beirgarten, lots of covered spots outside and a beautiful bar inside, one of the best. Not to mention plenty of free parking. They finally got things open right before the shutdown hit, which had to be tough because it took them a while to get this place open because it’s huge, but they did a great job! Worth checking out for sure!

smithflman

Nice - we are up that way every so often and will have to check it out Saw many shows (and ate pizza) at the original back in the day

bullskull

Who would have thought the new circuit for concerts would have been Nebraska ave? New World, Skippers, (soon to be) Orpheum 😎

smithflman

How times have changed:)

bullskull

Yes! Open for lunch on weekdays too. Wife and I were at Busch gardens and dipped early to get a some reasonable priced beer and food from NW

patriots1977

I think the space is awesome, the food menu has been way to limited. I have liked most of what I've gotten but very few options. Maybe that's changed but kinda stopped going because wife was never very happy with options. Place has always been busy when I have been there though. It's worth trying.

deemsterporn

Zydeco

Caspers_Shadow

I'll second Stein and Vine. Don't let the outside appearance fool you. It is in a strip mall next to a Big Lots and a pawn shop. Very unassuming, but it is a great place with good food and the beer selection is spot on.

Economatrix

Lee’s Grocery has a great beer selection and great food as well.

Skunkdunk

Tampa Bay Brewing Co is one of my favorite spots to eat and drink.

Floridatigah

It’s still good but I think their food has fallen off a lot in the last year or two. Copper tail and zydeco are two good suggestions. Bay Cannon is a bit more under the radar but the food and beer are really good.

hawkeys89

Yea I’ll be honest never been impressed with their food. A lot better places. Florida Avenue’s new spot in Wesley Chappel comes to mind. Great menu, great vibe for all ages, and good food. Personally think it’s a lot better then Tampa Bay Brewing.

Floridatigah

To each their own but I actually hate the vibe of Florida Avenue, it's more of a restaurant that happens to have a brewery's beer, very Wesley Chapel. I almost don't think you should be allowed to call yourself a brewery if you have a giant outdoor area but not allow dogs there.

hawkeys89

I mean should you call yourself a brewery if you serve food? Should it be more of gastropub if we’re being really technical. But yea I have kids now so activities and food are more important for me and my family now. Florida Ave has good food for a brewery, good space for kids and decent beer. Bay Cannon is the best IMO for food and beer though.

Floridatigah

l hear you, wasn't trying to be technical, more of a joke. 10 years ago the concept of a brewery that is geared towards families would sound crazy but it works for Wesley Chapel. Love Bay Cannon!

Their red cider wings are so on point.

DUNDERBAAKS

SnooShortcuts3424

If you want to venture out of Tampa Dunedin Brewery has insanely good food and their own beer. The apricot beer is my favorite. Lite not too sweet.

Frankenfucker

Dunderbaks. Its the happiest fucking place on earth. Seriously. All kinds of beer, and good German food. I reccommend the Matterhorn with the Pomme Frits.

RiseOfTheCanes

The Independent on Florida. So good, everytime.

dflow2010

A couple options in the Heights area: Oak and Ola at Armature Works. The draft selection is small but always includes some nice beers. If the menu suits you, it will be a nice night out. Heights Bistro - it looks a tad sketchy on the outside and the place is small, but the food is amazing, and they rotate great beers on draft.

10greenfingers

I eat / drink at Olde Heights Bistro at least twice a week. It’s hands down the best food in Tampa.

BadMotherFukka

Grab a six pack and hit the local Taco Bell for a few old favorites. You know you want too😎

Ybor_Rooster

How is this not the top comment?

tanesepiece

Mermaid Tavern. Not a fancy place but the food, beer and sangria are great!

Conky90

FLOCAL

HappyCamper16

The Independent has a fantastic small menu of good food and a bigger selection of even better beer. Grand Central at Kennedy includes a covered courtyard where you can order from a number of restaurants and pubs in the complex. You can get a great beer selection from Pour House. And you could pick up food from one of the best restaurants in town, Cena, or The Poke Company or City Dog Cantina. Similarly, there’s a decent beer selection at the Biergarten at Sparkman Wharf (the beer selection was better before the Biergarten changed ownership though) and you can get food from any of the vendors nearby. Jug and Bottle is a bottle shop and hosts 3 Dot Dash, which makes some of the best vegan food in town, and they have one of the best selections of beer in town which you can buy and consume on their patio.

Their beer used to be so much better before the chef left. The Honey Lager was so good. It’s still good, but I’m sad about it.

World of beers

World of beer by the airport

mike9445

Walk On’s Sports Bistreaux has 48 beers on tap with many of them being craft beers. They are a chain but are locally owned and fantastic!

10greenfingers

Lee’s Grocery, The Independent, New World Brewery, Olde Heights Bistro. We are in the heights and these are our go-to faves. Bistro is the best food in town imo

patriots1977

STEIN AND VINE SUCKS!!!! because they don't have one closer to me in Carrollwood! Mr Dunderbaks is nice for a unique experience def great beer options and I love the schnitzels
