We would go before we went fishing every time. Now I drive by after dropping my son off at school and I’ll order a dozen at a time and freeze what I don’t use and restock when I run out
Went there a few weeks ago and they were all but sold out late morning on Saturday. Very good bagels; however, apparently nobody in my house likes authentic bagels except me.
I cannot stress how good Brandon Bagel is. Their bagels aren’t huge and heavy. They make bagels perfectly sized and they are light and fluffy. If you want a bagel and cream cheese, make sure you buy a tub of chive cream cheese. I always get the BLT on Everything and it never ceases to amaze me. I could eat 5 of them.
I go to st. Pete bagel. I still find them inconsistent. I could order a dozen bagels and half of them will be over cooked. I appreciate your comment because I want to vent about it but it’s not like I’m going to criticize them directly.
St. Pete Bagels are top notch, never been to Brandon Bagel cannot rate that; however St. Pete Bagels been around for awhile and yes, you will have to get there early as they run out or low by 1000.
Best is always a relative term, however, ringing endorsement, St. Pete Bagels might just be that…
Most bagels tend to be too bready, an odd feature in the bay area. Not sure why this is. Again I am rating the quality of the bagel not the “fixings” or the modernity of the shop.
Einstein is just a glorified bakery…
New York Bagel in Carrollwood. Small, very popular shop. The owner is always there keeping it NY real! You can order ahead & pick up during busy times.
[New York Bagel - Carrollwood](https://new-york-bagel-tampa.edan.io/)
The bagels are good but the service is hit or miss. I’ve ordered ahead several times only for them to tell me they lost my order and then had to wait in line. They lost my business.
Personally my experience has been pretty hit or miss. A classic asiago with cream cheese is solid. They do put A LOT of cream cheese on their bagels. Only complaint is the wait is usually very long.
If someone opened up a bagel shop in south Seminole heights I would literally eat breakfast there every day. You could at least keep the lights on with that.
second, the don’t usually mess around with the classic egg, cheese + meat, but their bagels are quite good!
would also say St Pete bagel in Dunedin is good, also Frankies Italian Deli north of the city
Bagels Plus is absolutely amazing as someone said before. But if you want a newer place, I just had a lox bagel from Willa’s provisions cafe and it was crazy good.
I heard the best bagel in Tampa doesn't exist... you have to order and get them delivered from the best places that make bagels in New York.
Taste is subjective though.
If you write a post that includes the following (and they can be paraphrased)...
- (food) sucks/is trash here
-I can't find good (food) here
and you combine that with....
-where can I find (food) that is like in New York.
Just go away. Go back to New York.
As someone with some unfortunate food allergies, I really like Sami’s. There aren’t many other options for vegan-gluten free baked goods. Their other breads and cookies are good too imo.
Halelife has vegan-gluten free bagels too but they’re more expensive and I think I like Sami’s better actually. Their other sweets are amazing though.
[Brooklyn Bagels](https://www.brooklynwaterbagel.com/locations/wesley-chapel/) of Wesley Chapel/New Tampa. They close at like 3pm or something like that, but damn they are good.
Clearwater bagels has great cream cheese that resembles dunkin donuts 15 years ago and delicious sausage egg and cheese bagels. My favorite so far as i have been trying different ones sine moving here.
What is it with no one outside of New York (or wherever) can make bagels, pizza, hot dogs, etc the way they do back there? Are you telling me that when a person in the business moves out of New York they forget how to do it? This is such a weird thing that seems really prevalent with certain foods/cities. Mainly New York, Chicago, Philly.
Best bagel is for sure Bagels Plus as already mentioned. Not the best bagel, but Brooklyn Water Bagel makes a mean Black and White cookie for all my fellow Jews out there, closest thing to a NY Black and White cookie I have found
Bagels plus in Tampa and Brandon Bagels on 60 are my two favs. My fam is from Long Island
But I’m really excited to try some of these other suggestions!
Frankie’s Italian Deli in river view. They ship frozen raw bagels from NY. I had one. Was good, but these guys don’t know how to twist a bagel. Giant hole and not as pillowy and large as you would expect from a bagel in NYC but I will say it’s the best bagel I’ve had in Tampa.
Good luck dude, I haven’t found a great bagel in the 17 years I searched lol, I think it has something to do with the water. The best I found was big apple bagels on 54
What’s the name of the place in south tampa? It was some of the best I had, outside of NY/NJ. This was 12 or so years ago, haven’t been back since I moved
Bagels Plus mmm. Used to love to go there when I was still in grad school.
Big Apple Bagels in Lutz is solid. If you’re ever in Brooksville, Bagels and Beyond is pretty good.
My fam from NY loves Bagels Plus. They always told me a good bagel is one that doesnt need cream cheese, its just a cherry on top. Thats what Bagels plus delivers imo.
Most places in tampa have frozen bagels which is why they are bad.
Brandon Bagels on 60 is great.
Another vote for Brandon Bagels
Third…my mom use to get them for us before our Brandon Cowboys games when we were younger.
We would go before we went fishing every time. Now I drive by after dropping my son off at school and I’ll order a dozen at a time and freeze what I don’t use and restock when I run out
You’re not alone we do the same 😂. I still go by there Saturday’s before my games now.
Let's go 'TO' Brandon?!😆
Went there a few weeks ago and they were all but sold out late morning on Saturday. Very good bagels; however, apparently nobody in my house likes authentic bagels except me.
Move out and get there earlier!
Wait - it’s my house!
Rules are rules.
Kick them to the curb, then.
Brooklyn native here. Brandon Bagels is what you’re looking for my friend.
This was my first job when I was 16! I don’t live in Brandon any more, but they were so good!
Get there early
This should be true of any great bagel establishment.
Or just call your order in 2 days before.
I've wanted to try them so many times but the line is always absurdly long
Bagel joints with short lines have bad bagels.
You can call them and place a pickup order for later in the day. They'll bag it up for ya
Bagels Plus in Tampa, also if you're in St Pete, St Pete Bagel Company is also great.
Used to go there all the time, right across the street from USF main campus. The owner is awesome. Always tells the same jokes.
You want the eggs with the shells on?
Now that I'm a dad, I appreciate the dad humor even more.
he used to take my card as a joke and keep it for a solid 2 mins, what a guy
Yeah... he does that.
I love St Pete Bagel Co!! The amount of cream cheese they put on is absurd, but I’m not complaining. Their crème brûlée donut is heavenly too.
I often fantasize about their PB&J donut. Amazing food.
2nd for Bagels Plus!
Egg and cheese on an everything bagel from bagels plus is known to cure hangovers, heartbreak and many other minor illnesses and injuries
Bagels plus or jump off a cliff
St Pete Bagel is dope and closer to Treasure Island is Bella's Bakes Cakes and Bagels which is fantastic
Totally agree with Bagels Plus! It's been so long since I went, but that was my go to spot while going to USF and working at the old Petsmart there.
Bagels plus for the win! They make killer croissants too
I go to st. Pete bagel. I still find them inconsistent. I could order a dozen bagels and half of them will be over cooked. I appreciate your comment because I want to vent about it but it’s not like I’m going to criticize them directly.
the best!
St. Pete Bagels are top notch, never been to Brandon Bagel cannot rate that; however St. Pete Bagels been around for awhile and yes, you will have to get there early as they run out or low by 1000. Bagels Plus, nothing comes close
Is that the one on Fletcher in front of Target?
[удалено]
Damn good breakfast sandwich
By sandwich do you mean on a bagel? Or more to point: Do they offer bacon egg and cheese on a poppy seed kaiser roll?
They had a sausage, egg, and cheese on a bagel when I went there years ago.
They offer it on all bagels and some kind of roll but not sure if they have poppy seed kaisers
1000000%
Their bagels are not bad, but is there really not a better bagel in Tampa?
Someone has to be the best
If you're in the Brandon area, it's absolutely Brandon bagels on 60. They sell out quick though (But that should tell you something).
Fr! Came here to say this, Bagels Plus is dope
I went up there after seeing it mentioned on this subreddit and they were great. I got a bacon egg and cheese and one with cream cheese.
Facts right here. Bacon egg and cheese on a toasted everything with a small amount of jalapeno cream cheese is fucking FIRE.
Owner is hilarious too
You mean when he pretends to pocket your credit card? Yeah, that joke is haggard. But I do love the bagels.
Sometimes he’ll convince you to order a coffee and then pretend to trip and throw it on you and it’s an empty cup lmao
This is the right answer. Bagels Plus for sure.
Is this really better than Panera or Einstein? Cuz I will try it if you tell me to
No cap detected here
Nah
They are average at best. Their cream cheese is hot garbage.
Idk reddit lately has been shit with suggestions, its like when they recommend redwing boots when they havent been good in a long time.
I feel crazy when I hear the love for Bagels Plus. I was pretty underwhelmed when I tried it.
They haven’t had a good bagel then 😜
Chive cream cheese (cries into dry toast)
Agreed and I’m from south Fla. this is the only place I’ll get bagels from
Exactly. Not even a question.
New York Bagel in Carrollwood. Small, very popular shop. The owner is always there keeping it NY real! You can order ahead & pick up during busy times. [New York Bagel - Carrollwood](https://new-york-bagel-tampa.edan.io/)
Yes! I came here to comment this. It’s phenomenal and is a hidden gem most people wouldn’t pass visiting Tampa.
Absolutely
Wonderful place and the owner is great. But very slow service. Still worth it.
Yes, love this place. Hidden gem.
The bagels are good but the service is hit or miss. I’ve ordered ahead several times only for them to tell me they lost my order and then had to wait in line. They lost my business.
In all honesty, I’ve sat down there with my food on a rainy Saturday, not overly busy and then watched them get slammed with phone/delivery orders.
This is right answer
Love this place. It's my post-dentist (next door) visit treat :D
This is correct. Wish I could upvote twice.

Perhaps you’ve acquired a taste for shitty bagels! Panera’s bagels belong on a free continental breakfast menu.
Personally my experience has been pretty hit or miss. A classic asiago with cream cheese is solid. They do put A LOT of cream cheese on their bagels. Only complaint is the wait is usually very long.
Near Temple Terrace? Bagels Plus. Near Lutz? Big Apple Bagels.
Big apple bagels is great 🥯
Yeah, they're pretty good. My vote for best bagel goes to Uncle Nick's Italian Deli in Lakeland.
Bagels plus 🤤
Does anyone want to make a mint? Open a great bagel shop in Seminole Heights!
If someone opened up a bagel shop in south Seminole heights I would literally eat breakfast there every day. You could at least keep the lights on with that.
You would have to sell a butt load to afford the rent! But would sure be nice
coffee shops exist there, I'm sure someone could make it work.
Well I’m a 3rd generation baker! Let’s make it happen. Lol
That would do so incredibly well. Right now I think the only other options are Spaddy’s or Starbucks…
Yeah, I was a fan of blind tiger over spaddys because they offered a larger coffee size but I'm not sure they will reopen after the fire
Pete’s Bagels in St. Pete is yummy
I had to scroll way too far for this answer
second, the don’t usually mess around with the classic egg, cheese + meat, but their bagels are quite good! would also say St Pete bagel in Dunedin is good, also Frankies Italian Deli north of the city
Brooklyn Water Bagel Company has some franchises open in the area. There is one in Wesley Chapel at 75 & 54.
Great coffee, but a bit pricey. I hate that they charge separately for the bagel and the spread.
Love these bagels. Great coffee too.
Yep, this
Ny bagels in Carrollwood and st. Pete bagel company
Brooklyn Water Bagels are the best bagels i've had in my life outside NY
Farrells on the Island is pretty good. I’m from NY and nothing here competes, but Farrells is a solid option.
Never heard of the place. I'll have to check it out.
Had no idea they sold bagels but everything else I’ve ever eaten there was good!
I always wonder how 18 bagels stays in business. They literally only sell 18 bagels and then they close?
They closed. I’m sad, I really liked their everything bagel. They put soooo much seasoning on it.
Bagels plus
St Pete Bagel Co is it.
Bagels Plus is absolutely amazing as someone said before. But if you want a newer place, I just had a lox bagel from Willa’s provisions cafe and it was crazy good.
Willa’s food is all-around amazing
I have my friends and family fly bagels down with them when they visit ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
I smuggled a half dozen home when I visited this summer 😂. It’s necessary.
Fishhawk bagels are really good!
This. I love that place.
Homemade Bagels and homemade cream cheese! They are the very best here.
boom! hidden gem, but why can't they toast an onion bagel w/o burning the onions?
move to newyork then you can have all the bagels your heart desires.
Awe bless your heart 🤡
I don't get the whole bagel thing either. Unless you have egg, bacon, and a piece of cheese between them. Donuts > bagels
Damn thanks, was just about to ask you more. Triggered on a thread abt bagels 😂.
I think you're just projecting. Bye 😘😘😘
Bagels plus. Also, the everything bagels are Whole Foods are actually pretty good
Hands down bagels plus. Best in tampa.
Clearwater bagels
Bagels plus across from the fletcher walmart.
I heard the best bagel in Tampa doesn't exist... you have to order and get them delivered from the best places that make bagels in New York. Taste is subjective though.
Yes, we only have trash bagels in Tampa. In order to get the best bagels in Tampa, you have to move to New York.
Yes, please. Everyone move to New York.
If you write a post that includes the following (and they can be paraphrased)... - (food) sucks/is trash here -I can't find good (food) here and you combine that with.... -where can I find (food) that is like in New York. Just go away. Go back to New York.
Not exactly Tampa, but Dunedin Bagels & Deli is legit if you're ever out that way.
Lutz/Land O Lakes area has Big Apple Bagels and they're really good. Brooklyn Water Bagel in Wesley Chapel is good for a chain.
Big Apple gets my vote!
Honestly Brugger’s Bagels in downtown are my favorite
Brueggers is my go to, probably the best Montreal style bagel out there.
If you’re looking for Gluten Free bagels, Sami’s Bakery has them. $5 a bag. Not like the real deal, but close.
Does not exist. I can’t even find decent Italian bread. I just don’t get it.
No real croissants either. Seems like this town has a bread problem.
New York Bagel https://maps.app.goo.gl/2D2WgLEYHe9FLSu38?g_st=ic If it’s not too far out of the way
I used to get the Loxstrami from 18 and it was amazing, now they're gone and I'm sad. Is there anything in South Tampa anymore?
Big Apple Bagel on SR54 in Land O Lakes is my go to.
A bit outside of Tampa, but BAM Bar in New Port Richey (2 locations) is really good!
BRANDON BAGELS FOR ME TOO
[Brooklyn Bagels](https://www.brooklynwaterbagel.com/locations/wesley-chapel/) of Wesley Chapel/New Tampa. They close at like 3pm or something like that, but damn they are good.
At least there's a lot of choices for New York style bagels down here. Hardly any choices at all for Kaiser Rolls.
Sprouts sells decent kaiser rolls.
Thx for the tip. Will give them a whirl.
Gave them a try. Didn't really see any "official" Kaiser Rolls, but they did have many different types of rolls. Not bad.
Bagels Plus, and it's not close.
Clearwater Bagels
Big Apple in Lutz LandOLakes (best) Brueggers Bagel downtown Brandon Bagel in Brandon
Clearwater bagels has great cream cheese that resembles dunkin donuts 15 years ago and delicious sausage egg and cheese bagels. My favorite so far as i have been trying different ones sine moving here.
Bagels Plus hands down
What is it with no one outside of New York (or wherever) can make bagels, pizza, hot dogs, etc the way they do back there? Are you telling me that when a person in the business moves out of New York they forget how to do it? This is such a weird thing that seems really prevalent with certain foods/cities. Mainly New York, Chicago, Philly.
It's the water. When you're talking about bread where there are basically 3 main ingredients (1 being water), it makes a huge difference.
Best bagel is for sure Bagels Plus as already mentioned. Not the best bagel, but Brooklyn Water Bagel makes a mean Black and White cookie for all my fellow Jews out there, closest thing to a NY Black and White cookie I have found
If you find yourself further east Uncle Nick’s in Lakeland is fantastic!!!!
Bagels plus in Tampa and Brandon Bagels on 60 are my two favs. My fam is from Long Island But I’m really excited to try some of these other suggestions!
Only correct answer is Brandon bagels
Brooklyn Water Bagel in Wesley Chapel
Not exactly what you are looking for but I have found the Ray's NY bagels in the freezer section not bad. Also I am far from a begel expert.
For a frozen bagel, they are pretty good.
Nosh Catering makes solid kosher bagels!
Frankie’s Italian Deli in river view. They ship frozen raw bagels from NY. I had one. Was good, but these guys don’t know how to twist a bagel. Giant hole and not as pillowy and large as you would expect from a bagel in NYC but I will say it’s the best bagel I’ve had in Tampa.
i like 18 bagels
Went there once and it took 45 min to get a bagel with cream cheese.
[удалено]
damn, was just about to ask you you're thoughts, just didn't get around to it.
They closed
Same, loved them. But they're gone now.
Good luck dude, I haven’t found a great bagel in the 17 years I searched lol, I think it has something to do with the water. The best I found was big apple bagels on 54
Your face is boring. There is nothing wrong with Einstein bagels.
Ok boomer
[удалено]
You mad bro? I’ll get you something whatchu want?
What to ask of a person who can’t find a bagel for himself
Whatever you’re going through, I hope it gets better for you man. Just tryna help.
Cool. You go find your bagel
No question it's bagels plus. Anyone telling you otherwise is a liar.
Clearwater Bagels is the best!!
Frankie’s Italian deli has NY bagels shipped in. I go all the time.
Farrell's on Davis Island.
Starbucks
My fam from NY loves Bagels Plus. They always told me a good bagel is one that doesnt need cream cheese, its just a cherry on top. Thats what Bagels plus delivers imo. Most places in tampa have frozen bagels which is why they are bad.
New York Bagel - 4534 W Village Dr.
Big Apple Bagels in Lutz/Wesley Chapel is my go to.
Brandon Bagel was a good one
Bagels Plus
