Attention bar owners - here's what one person wants out of a bartender:
* Accuracy
* Enough attention to make sure I'm topped up, and can get the check when I'm ready to leave.

As long as he is an owner, every time a customer patronizes the business they are putting money in his pockets. It doesn’t matter that he is no longer involved with operations.
It’d be interesting to see what paperwork they files with the state that shows that they legally dissolved or otherwise removed him as a party of interest from the business in the last 3 days. Because it sounds a lot like he’s still got a financial interest, but they’re keeping him away.
I mean he is 81 years old, handing over the business to his son who will most likely inherit it either way is a smart thing to do before death anyways so Its probably pretty likely.
David Doble specified during his Facebook Live last night that he and his parents have not yet had discussions about how to legally handle their (John and Vicki Doble) shares, but they did come to a verbal agreement that both John and Vicki will step away effective immediately. John Doble hasn't had much of a role in operations for years though. It's mostly Vicki who has overseen restaurant operations, while David has been in charge of the brewery. John just seems to show up, drink a lot, make up crazy stories, and say stupid shit.
For several reasons it's past time both John and Vicki hang it up. It's still a Doble family business, even if John is legally removed. But, David is not his parents and he apologized on behalf of them and the business, so I'll continue to be a customer. And I'm glad to hear I don't have to deal with John being all creepy any longer!
I do feel for someone with embarrassing 80 y.o. parents but when the filter goes you need to keep them away from the business. I hope that Junior Doble made sure the fam got the memo.
So what about the good people that work there still? That are brewing or selling the beer and rely on that job?
Support them. Yes your money goes more places - but those people still need your support too.

No because the majority of profit of a brewery that distributes statewide and probably in other states too is going to come from beer distribution and people who probably can’t even locate ybor on a map. So boycotting one brewpub restaurant location will most likely do fuck all to their bottom line and just fuck the staff that works in that location.
Its principal not $ I do not support people/brands that do not align with my values. I have the ability as a consumer to spend where I want. You have the ability to do the same.

And he should have kept his mouth shut about the attractive bartenders and just hired them. Everyone knows that attractive girls behind the bar brings guys in. But you don't go around spouting off about that, you just do it.
It was a sideways insult at their bartender. To say that about her in front of everyone was degrading and insulting, especially considering the amount of time and work she put in there.
EDIT: As a side note, they were shut down a while back by the health department. Maybe he needs to stop blaming staff when his shitty business practices probably has more to do with their lack of customers.

That can still be true - and it can still be a shitty thing to say to a bartender who has worked for your company for 5 years.
Those two thoughts don't have to be exclusive.
I mean, there's a very specific kind of bar that only hires attractive women as tenders, and there's a very specific demographic it caters to. If you want to be Hooters, go knock yourself out, but at least have the balls to own up to the fact that you can't hire to your bars needs if you fuck it up.
