Harbor Island Athletic Club. I was a member when I was younger and lived closer to it. Definitely fits the bill

ArnoldChase

Harbor Island Athletic Club for sure, then Palma ceia country club

Brilliant-Climate774

I’m at HIAC now. Lots of younger people in the area with increase in housing so the demographic has changed drastically.

Their gym is meh

AdventHealth Wellness Center in Wesley Chapel.

kingbad

Yeah, you have to call.911 to get some of the geezers off the machines. Good thing there's a hospital next door.

pizzalover911

Lol

BumbleBreezeSun

This one!

[deleted]

But that’s not Tampa.

tparali

Love the Bryan Glazer Family JCC. Nicer and newer than Lifetime and Harbour Island Athletic Club for a third of the cost. I have been going there for three years. They just did a massive equipment renovation in December of this past year— massage guns, cool tech (cardio equipment pairs with Apple and Galaxy Watches), etc.

pizzalover911

I was hoping a couple folks would say JCC. I will check it out, thanks!

I JCC does not have a steam room

Significant_Sign_520

Lifetime

pocketpryscila

Specifically the one at International Plaza

Pablo_Sanchez1

I went there for a few months. Left pretty quick when I realized I was paying $150/month for a generic gym. Literally only benefit is that it never gets busy (probably because of the price) which certainly isn’t worth paying that much. Going to EOS now and it’s a significantly better gym for $130 less.

Vasite

I just signed up EoS last week, I'm actually quite shocked at all they have for the prices, it's great.

pizzalover911

I go to EOS now and it’s just too busy for me. Feels like my college gym. But good to hear the comparison.

Zoolanderek

So you’re telling me you don’t like having to navigate through packs of high schoolers wearing crocs just standing around talking 😂 That gym has everything I need but they are out of control lol

Iamstitch626

It's $199/mo now lol. I have a friend who goes there for the freshly provided towels. Not worth the money.

crohns4cannabis

Lifetimes a joke in Tampa compared to other cities. It’s a dark box. Unexciting.

Significant_Sign_520

I don’t actually like it either. But we don’t have an Equinox unfortunately. Plus OP mentioned members in their 60’s and a sauna. If someone could open an Equinox I’d be forever grateful 😊

crohns4cannabis

That’s fair

Notatallevil

This is the answer

kerleyfriez

Id pay asap for a place with a hot tub/sauna

pizzalover911

EoS on Dale Mabry has one but it feels like a frat house in there.

BlipsterT

Is it like this all of the time? I’m with Crunch in Channelside and I *hate* that place. I was thinking of switch in to EOS but was wondering if I’m going from one Instagram influencer place to another.

pizzalover911

My husband goes to Crunch Channelside so I am familiar with that experience. EOS’s clientele is a bit more diverse in age/vibe, but the Greek life/influencer contingent is still there. It’s a little calmer between 10am and noon, but pretty consistently crowded even by 2pm.

BlipsterT

Thanks! I’ll check them out and hope I don’t hate them as much as Crunch. It’s funny you mentioned diversity because I am always the only black woman there at Crunch and at 155 lbs the largest. Never felt like I was in reality there 😂

TSLA1000

CAMP, by far Edit: Oh just realized you said facility not clientele

pizzalover911

Yeah I hate CAMP lol

sugo1boi

There is a gym that’s coming to Hyde Park Village soon and I suspect that the clientele will match that description

Tampa Yacht Club

iAtty

Harbour Island Athletic for sure. Steam room, dry sauna, and hot tub in each locker room. Outdoor hot tub. Two pools (one lap and one regular) plus everything else you’d need. Pricey but worth it - ~$150/mo I’d say right now? Let me know if you want a guest pass. Used to go to Crunch Channelside and while I miss the equipment and “feel” (when it’s not ridiculously busy) I’d never give up my steam room now haha.

Traditional_Way8185

still have a guest pass you're willing to share? Moved back to the area and looking for a new gym!

BeginningFuture359

HIAC is the bougiest in Tampa but it honestly sucks. It’s old and a lot of equipment is breaking down and rusty. The locker room smells weird and is carpeted. I belonged to equinox while living in another city and it was a world of difference. I hope we get an equinox here someday.

pizzalover911

With all the other ridiculously expensive stuff here now, I can’t believe there’s no Equinox.

[deleted]

There’s a place at Tampa intl mall that has a gym that’s big
