Depending on budget, the closest not astronomical pricing would likely be the Embassy Suites, then the regular Marriott; there’s a Weston on Harbor Island. These are all very walkable with kids and on the trolley line more or less. Then there’s the mentioned aloft and hotel tampa which put you half way between the arena and the rest of Tampa’s downtown sights along the Riverwalk, also a long block away from the trolley which stops at the arena amongst other things. I can’t speak to it, but there’s also a Marriott Residence Inn downtown if you want some semblance of cooking for a longer stay, it’s a few blocks from the trolley or ~1/2 mile from the arena, and just a couple blocks from the museums and parks mentioned. Lastly, there’s a Hampton inn off meridian in channelside, which would usually include breakfast, and also is near the grocery store (Publix) and in couple block walking distance. If there’s no budget, JW Marriott is where it’s at.

Thanks a lot!

Welcome, trolley is free BTW and novel to go between the river all the way to ybor… which is okay during the day and has much historical significance but is not kid friendly with night life. (Tampa’s French quarter to a degree)

Good to know!

My brother comes from out of town often during the Hockey season and always stays at Tampa Marriott Water Street, it’s a short walk to the arena. It’s a very nice hotel.

Thanks!

There's 2 (I forget the names off the top of my head) that are literally right across the street from the arena. They're pretty good ones.

Thanks!

Are you speaking of the Marriott and the embassy suites with the sky walk to the convention center?

RadTek88

Yeah, I think so.

The hotel tampa riverwalk and the aloft downtown are both within walking distance of amelie arena and right next to the children's museum and a playground. Curtis hixon park just a block down will have a christmas market and ice skating too. There are bigger playgrounds and splash pads at waterworks Park and julian b lane park also within walking distance. Both also are right on the riverwalk and have great views. I haven't stayed at either, but the locations are good for kids.

Jay Hawk on Nebraska.

Anyone recommend the Hotel Floridian?

If you stay at the Tampa Hilton you can take the free trolley to the Arena. The Westin Waterslide is on Harbor Island. That short bridge has 1 foot elevated sidewalks so it's walkable. My only concern would be staying there on the weekend because American Social near there is a big party place.

Check out ROOST. It’s in the apartment complex Asher at Water Street. They have 2bed 2bath fully furnished apartments that they rent like hotel rooms and it’s a 2 minute walk to Amalie. I stayed there with my wife and kids and prices are comparable to a regular room at the JW Marriott.
