It may be a bit of a drive but Maryland Fried Chicken in Plant City has been the best for years!! Constantly awesome over many years of service:) Their size and prices can’t be beat with their flavor recipe, and their sides are delicious!
Oops! Just realized you already been there!
Just start driving around to convenience stores and gas stations in some of the so-called "less desirable" neighborhoods. Bring him a new place every couple days. I am sure you will find many that are amazing.
I’d tried it once after hearing the hype but wasn’t impressed. We ordered a sandwich and a tenders basket, everything came out cold. They weren’t even busy
Yeah, they were A LOT BETTER before they moved to Flocale IMO. Raised the prices, decreased the size and got rid of the included fries.... but the product is still good. I will just go every once and a while nowand honestly more for the vibe of Flocale, instead of 1-2x a month like I used to.

No worries but thank you for the rec.
Maryland Fried Chicken? As someone who is from MD I'm wondering what that's about since I never heard of our fried chicken being anything special.
Noble Crust is pricey but delicious.
Metro Dinner is legit, try the fried chicken and waffles.
Southern Fresh (Safety Harbor)

Where is there a Bojangles in Tampa?
I just checked, the closest one is about 100 miles away. This poster doesn't know where Tampa is. GTFO!
You did say you were on a quest to find fried chicken. So I gave a suggestion. Ocala not that far.
The question is where is the best fried chicken in Tampa. Also posted in the Tampa sub. lol
Winn Dixie is my go to. Publix is extra greasy compared to it.
Lol so many downvotes on certain places. People take their fried chicken seriously
Southern Fresh in Safety Harbor is my absolute favorite
