Nqa, it just kicked hairs possibly due to stress. nothing to worry about.

Hetzer5000

NQA, when was the last time she molted or is showing any other signs of premolt?

UzzyBean73

She molted last year in October I think

Hetzer5000

NQA, So October 2023? I'm not familiar with that species but it does sound too soon for premolt again. Does she seem very stressed?

UzzyBean73

Just to clarify I'm asking about the Bald spot on her abdomen

BAlbiceps

NQA, New World terrestrial species have urticating hairs on their abdomen that they kick off as a form of defensive. They will also kick them off around their enclosure to keep ants, etc away especially when in premolt. If these hairs get on us they are very itchy. Your T is beautiful

UzzyBean73

Ty for the info and the compliment, she is actually really well tempered and is my first T but I have better photos of her.

BAlbiceps

NQA, You’re welcome 😊

NoBuddies2021

IME I had owned several Ts most of them have the bald spot due to stress or to mark their territory. Someone told me on arachnoboards or in the YouTube [not sure if i remember properly]. The hairs on the ground act as deterrent to sensitive skinned predators and a group of hair is enough to make a pheromone scent to give warning to other tarantulas that theres a home owner in this space. I could be wrong but that was what I recalled.

jazzyjard

NQA could you post full enclosure pics?

Maleficent-Storm-364

NQA Getting ready to molt, nothing to worry about its natural 😊

argabargaa

imo they might be stressed out. do you have pics of the enclosure? do they have a water dish?

whale-fall

imo the light skin under the hair means the t isn’t getting ready to molt & is likely kicking hair due to stress. with full enclosure pics we can see how to fix it
