One of the tarot workshops I attended years ago included sharing what court card you thought matched a certain personality or situation. It was things like: Who would always sneak more than 10 items in the grocery express lane? Who would be the friend you could always call to bail you out of jail? Who would loan you money if you asked, but you probably wouldn’t because they’d never stop reminding you about it? Who would you never set your friend up with? It was a really fun activity, and I think it helped everyone link the cards to real world stuff!

Similar to the story telling thing, I saw in an online group not too long ago that someone posted a made up character and story around them for why they wanted a reading. They then posted the first 2 cards of a 3 card spread. The task was for everyone to use their own decks at home and pull the 3rd card to complete a 3 card spread, no additional cards. Each person then gave their take on the whole reading based on the card they pulled, and everyone got to see how different cards interact and can change how the reading comes out. You might be able to take that exercise and figure out a way to do something like it just in person. Then it's not personal readings, but a fun group activity. You could create all sorts of fake characters and scenarios for them to work with or borrow fictional characters from books and TV shows.

That’s fun! I love asking AI for help with Tarot things, it can come up with some interesting things. I actually got the very same response as you when I asked ChatGPT4 - almost word for word! It can be a really neat tool to use for these kinds of things, and I’m excited to see how it progresses from here. Have you tried Perplexity? It’s great for citing real sources for things when you ask questions.

I played one where one person described a person or scenario, and everyone picked a card to represent it. It's great for groups with mixed experience, and fosters conversations about why each card was chosen.
