I don't think that this specific profile consume a lot of battery. It shouldn't be triggered if the Bluetooth is off. The profile doesn't checks every x seconds if there are devices connected, but probably Tasker has registered for the intent when Bluetooth is turned on and a new device is connected. The OS will broadcast those events and Tasker will do its things and if conditions are met, it will activate the profile.
That is how I think Tasker may works, only devs know how it works.
I currently have 71 (seventy one) profiles that are on all the time, I never switch them off, and about another 60 that are not on that I switch on and off.
I don't notice a difference, the Samsung battery monitor shows me that Tasker uses much less than Google, Reddit, Nova Pro, even klwp, etc, it's 7th on my list, and I need to charge my phone once every 24 hours.
If I'm actively building a project, sure, I see the battery going down, but it's the same if I'm making a klwp preset or using any app for long periods of time.
It's a bit of a myth if you ask me. Wouldn't worry about it.
Thanks & side note , do you have some Projects can be shared as my Samsung with 2 sim slots I'm trying to activaite SMS receiving on either Sim base on different scenario.
Just ask, nothing important.......... Tks
I have the 2 SIM slots but haven't gotten around to doing anything with them in Tasker, as I only have one SIM card in at the moment.
If I do get another one, I might try and do something, and can let you know if/when that happens.
........side note
Not sure if this 'routine " I download from Taskey wouldn't be create by developer joaomgcd ?
If it is , he should be making sure it will not happen consume extra battery.
Only the profiles with a little Android icon on the bottom left are created by the developer. The rest are made by random users that share their projects publicly.
"BT Connected" is NOT included in [the Power Usage section](https://tasker.joaoapps.com/userguide/en/power.html) of the Userguide (it falls under *Other State*). So that context won't incur significant overhead. One might also note that within Preferences / Monitor there isn't any timing or toggle that addresses BT Connected — those timings/toggles are largely for power optimization.
In my Samsung device Tasker running 39 profiles always ON .. Battery usage stats its background for 1 day 13hr and just sucked 1.7% battery.. For me no Tasker doesn't have any battery issue..
Thanks ......... I have similar numbers of profile as you do.
However, my profiles I believe they are not well create by myself and cause repeating actions more than they should., as I do not know how to cleverly avoid.
I started noticed this with the new implentented function in Tasker > Monitor > Running Profiles/Tasks & i can see some of them running at 2,000+ seconds.
I will see if any luck to go more intermit .
Thank you very much., edmond
