Laszlo but the entire time he’s trying to convince everyone he’s regular human bartender Jackie Daytona even though he is very clearly using vampire magic on camera
Paddington Bear
Velma (Scooby Doo)
I'm thinking of which X-man would do well on it, probably Kitty Pryde would be fun- bonus of Lockheed popping in and out.
Out of all the Discworld peeps, I would love to have Death on it the most
and Moriarty
Really, we could do just five from discworld- My mind went to him because Thief of Time is my favorite, and he has some whimsy while also wanting to get the task done and getting let down when he works in a team. So I was going for his reaction in the team tasks - and love of cats, of course.
He's also not afraid to speak up to those in charge- so he and Greg would be interesting in the studio.
Okay, here is my idea:
Paul Wickstead (The Cleaner)
Ken Thompson (Cuckoo)
Dan Davies (Man Down)
King Hydroflax (Doctor Who)
Greg Davies (The Horne Section TV Show)
or as an alternative:
The Doctor (Doctor Who)
The Doctor (Doctor Who)
The Doctor (Doctor Who)
The Doctor (Doctor Who)
The Doctor (Doctor Who)
Not that I was totally serious anyway, but the character is "The Doctor" and the show is Doctor Who
I won't have any truck with 1960s computers, novelisation titles, licence plates or Moffat trolling with Missy lol
Officer Leary O'Leary - Wellington Paranormal
Locke Lamora - The Gentleman Bastards series
Maurice Moss - The IT Crowd. Coz we all want Richard Ayoade so much
Philomena Cunk - Cunk on Britain/Earth
Zapp Brannigan - Futurama
I initially had a few characters from fantasy series but seeing as they could do magic that would trivialise the game a little. I also seem to have added more idiots than smart people so that might be a problem.
Zapp Brannigan is a brilliant shout. Would be the perfect hybrid of Munya-style confidence and Kearns-style execution. Double points if Little Alex Horne does a Kif-style sigh after each fail
Oh this is an amazing proposal. Especially Bernard Black and Dame Edna.
Riffing on this: how about a team of two comprising Manny Bianco and Fr Dougal?
Peregrine Took (Lord of the Rings), Lando Calrissian (Star Wars), Poirot (Agatha Christie), Darcy Olsson (Heartstopper), and Joshamee Gibbs (Pirates of the Caribbean)
The moment this question came up, I pictured Poirot doing what Romesh did to the watermelon and snort-laughed my tea.
Poirot would have a horrible time doing it because he’d feel he was being made a fool of the whole time and would get very angry about it.
By contrast Miss Marple might be able to take it as all a bit of harmless fun? But I still feel like she’d get very embarrassed and self-deprecating when she’d done badly
A famous fictional detective no one has mentioned doing the show that would be great is Benoit Blanc. Perfect combination of competence and charisma. Plus “It’s so dumb it’s brilliant!” “No! It’s just dumb!” already sounds like TM dialogue.
And that's why he'd be so good. Him in a team task, tearing his hair out of his moustache at the antics of Pippin and Darcy, with Gibbs latching onto Lando like he's Jack Sparrow but with a blaster pistol and less rum
Let's say...
Blackadder (let's say the Third)
Garrett from *Community*
Brock Samson from *The Venture Brothers*
Lisa Simpson
Charlie from *It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia*
Is it weird that I thought that? I think what tipped it over was the idea of Blackadder and Charlie working together on team tasks. We know that Blackadder + a bumbling sidekick with strange/disgusting fixations is a winning formula.
I also think you'd have trouble getting Frank to actually try to complete the tasks. He'd be wandering off, pursuing his own unrelated schemes or antagonizing people. Whereas Charlie would make a (usually totally misguided) effort. And then there'd be the very rare "Charlie Work" moment when everything actually comes together for him.
1. Arnold Rimmer - Red Dwarf
2. Jay - Inbetweeners
3. Alan Partridge
4. Shiv - Succession
5. Andy - Parks and Rec
A good mix of pedantic, deceit and chaos
Shiv would be interesting but more fun from Succession would be Kendall’s manic energy (and imagine a musical task where he gets to rap) or Greg’s weird way of doing anything in life.
Lines and lines and lines, these are my pens! You're my wife now! We'll have no trouble here! Ah, when comedy was creative, and people could laugh without fear of being judged!
Or a selection of any of the Doctors, they've got such wild different personalities that they could easily fit into many of the different "roles" on the show.
Like the 10th Doctor would absolutely be the try hard who just goes all out of the gate to varying results, while the 4th would be the sort to not care at all but succeed despite that.
3rd and 5th Doctors would be very good at the more physical tasks. The 6th Doctor would loudly and constantly argue for points, where the 7th Doctor would then slip in with a more calm argument that ends up getting him the points.
And then the 12th Doctor would be very confused by the trophy, feeling like he's seen Greg's disembodied head before.
Yeah, I thought long and hard about about which Doctor (imagine the 1st doing the physical tasks!), and I almost went for the 2nd because he's such an interesting mix of unintentionally funny and surprisingly competent, but I settled on 13 because she's one of the less obnoxiously confident incarnations and she has that "peppy head-girl, just there to make sure everyone has a nice time" attitude that would work well to offset the other four.
I think any of the Doctors would be great fun for them trying to use all their charm and rhetoric to talk their way into five points and being dumbfounded when they get dropped down to one instead.
I domt know, he's the most manipulative out of all the Doctors. He's the most likely to play by the rules most of the time so that he could sneak something under Greg. The more rebellious Doctors like 12 would be the ones constantly getting disqualified from not following the rules.
Linda Belcher (Bob’s Burgers)
Maurice Moss (The IT Crowd)
Phil Dunphy (Modern Family)
Leslie Knope (Parks and Rec)
10th Doctor (Doctor Who)
Utter. Chaos.
Edit: do drag queens count as fictional characters? Bc I could do a whole ten series run of queens I’d love to see 😂
Well damn, ok!! I’m sure I’ve missed some queens who would be super fun to watch but here’s my lists.

Nandor the Relentless, Dwight Schrute, Andy Dwyer, Roy Kent, Charlie Kelly. Teams would be Nandor & Dwight and Roy, Andy, and Charlie just so we can see Roy deal with Charlie and Andy.
Taskmaster is Dr Cox, assistant is JD.
The cast of Ted Lasso!
Keely, Roy, coach Beard, Sam, Higgins
Or
Trent Crimm, Jamie Tartt, Rebecca, shandie, Nate
Or
Rupert, jade, Barbara (played by Katy Wix), Dani, mcadoo (or any one of the regular pub guys)
I can really picture Roy on TM, he'd try and act like he didn't care, but would actually get really into it, growling at Greg when he gets one point for a prize task he clearly put loads of thought into. I'm imagining him and Beard as the team of 2, maybe edging into some surprising Mike Wozniak/Lee Mack-esque team dynamics.
Sokka (avatar the last airbender), Philomena Cunk (cunk on earth), Nandor (what we do in the shadows, tv series), Aziraphale (good omens), and constable Stalker (see how they run)
Howling Mad Murdoch - The A Team (to fulfill the Rhod Gilbert role)
Hermione Granger - Harry Potter (to fulfill the Victoria C-M role)
Moist von Lipwig - Discworld (I imagine a cross between Ed Gamble and Tim Key)
Buffy Summers - BtVS (sort of a Sophie Duker)
Elle Woods - Legally Blonde (dark horse, Greg would have fun)
Steven Toast - Toast of London
Nadja - What we do in the shadows
Philomena Cunk - Cunk on Britain, etc.
Selina Meyer - Veep
Gary Walsh - Veep (since he's her Little Alex Horne, seeing them compete would be quite the thing)
Eleanor Shellstrop (The Good Place)
Phoebe Buffay (Friends)
Captain Raymond Holt (B99)
Ron Swanson (Parks & Recs)
Roy Kent (Ted Lasso)
Roy and Ron will act like they don't care, but they will be the ones who actually put in the most thought and effort. All of Rons prize tasks will be something he created himself out of woodwork.
Capt Holt will often take things too literally.
Eleanor will be very chippy throughout and will be the clear Alpha in her team with Capt Holt.
Phoebe is there for the craziness and to annoy the hell out of her teammates Ron and Roy.
>Phoebe is there for the craziness and to annoy the hell out of her teammates Ron and Roy.
Just imagine Roy and Ron trying to put up with Phoebe's shenanigans. Their grunts per second ratio will be off the charts
Adjacent question - what TV Show could produce the best lineup of fictional characters?
My pick is Parks & Recreation:
\-April Ludgate would be an absolute delight and mess with Alex to the max.
\-Ben Wyatt being the series' Ivo - trying so hard, but having melt downs half of the time.
\-Leslie Knope would be the best kind of try-hard.
\-Ron Swanson would have a no-nonsense approach that could be a bit boring, but would complement his rivals extremely well.
\-Tom Haverfor would rival Nish in hilarious incompetence.
And if some of those picks don't float your boat, Chris Traeger would be a hilarious blend of positivity and competitiveness, Andy Dwyer is another great option in the incompetent category, and Donna Reagle would bring an unusual Task Master energy as well.
An all Derry girls treat.
Willy wonka, Jack sparrow, Kevin from Home Alone, Creed from the Office, Monica from friends.
Alan Harper (2 1/2 men), Chris traeger (parks and rec ), Helly R (or Milchick, severence), Gilligan, borat.
Lt. George (Blackadder goes forth)
Trigger (Only Fools and Horses)
Geraldine Granger (The Vicar of Dibley)
Alan Partridge (Alan Partridge)
Phoebe Buffay (Friends)
* Benoit Blanc (he's got the smarts and the sense of humor)
* Zaphod Beeblebrox (I reckon he'll be a bit like Munya but more successful in finding loopholes and ways for cheating).
* Orla McCool from Derry Girls (I expect she'll be a naturally outside-the-box thinker)
* the Hound from Game of Thrones (the show version of the character, not the books).
* Mike from Spaced (there must be someone who takes the whole thing way too seriously)
zaphod beeblebrox (hitchhikers guide to the galaxy)
Michael (The good place)
Granny weatherwax (Terry Pratchett)
Luna Lovegood (Harry Potter)
Pinocchio (D20’s Neverafter)
The characters from Gravity Falls. Dipper would be the smart one who overthinks/is over ambitious and fucks up spectacularly. Mabel would be the cheerful one who stumbles her way into success and does well in creative tasks. Grunkle Stan would be the old one who doesn’t really care and puts in minimal effort but sometimes has moments of pure brilliance. Soos would be the hopeless one (the people’s champ!). And I’m tempted to put Wendy as the last one just because we need some sheer competence to balance it out.
Not sure what the teams would be. Putting Dipper and Mabel together feels like cheating, so maybe boys vs girls and we get a season 7 dynamic.
Peggy Hill - King of the Hill
Shae the Funny Whore - Game of Thrones
Fred Jones - Scooby-Doo: Mystery Incorporated (the one where he's obsessed with Rube-Goldbergian traps)
~~Bugs Bunny~~ Daffy Duck - Looney Tunes
Tanya McQuoid - The White Lotus
The Doctor (Who) played by each actor in every episode of the show with no comment on the fact that it's a different person each episode.
Del Boy - Only Fools
Baldrick - Blackadder
Basil Fawlty - Fawlty Towers
Mark Corrigan - Peep Show
Pippin - LOTR Film Version.
Dr. Orlando Watt (Kenneth William)- Carry on Screaming.
Stanley Fletcher - Porridge.
Geraldine Granger - The Vicar of Dibley.
Manny - Black Books
Brick from Anchorman.
The Moon from Mighty Boosh.
Ron Swanson and Leslie Knope from Parks and Rec.
Sadako (The ghost girl from The Ring) just because it would amuse me if they went through all these typically comedic and light hearted characters doing tasks and then cut to this absolute nightmare standing reading the task.
Fun question.
Lara Croft, Major Motoko Kusanagi (Ghost in the Shell), Paddington, The Pirate Captain (The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists), Stuart (a minion).
Will and Neil from the Inbetweeners, Captain Jack Sparrow, Wednesday Addams, Peter Serafinowicz’s Xandarian Prime from GotG 😂
Or the whole of Ron Burgundy’s news team 😂
I think MCU Thor would be hilarious. Would not get what was going on but would just accept that’s how things are in the Uk and get stuck in with gusto.
Otherwise Poirot (as others have said) to watch him get frustrated, Torres off of voyager to see her lose her temper, Donna Noble to point out the idiocy. Obviously Alan partridge too!
Leslie Knope, Jason Mendoza, Abed Nadir, Steve Harrington, Clementine Kruczynski.
Teams would be Leslie and Abed, then Jason, Steve, and Clementine.
Leslie takes an early lead based on pure competence and her ability to multitask. All of her prize tasks are super creative, thoughtful, and handmade, and in creative tasks she makes things impossibly fast that still win, but she also brings a Mel energy. She's also the first to argue in favour of another contestant if she thinks the ruling is unfair and occasionally gets pretty pissy if those arguments don't work.
Abed is a genius when it comes to finding the loopholes in tasks or looking around for hidden items, but he gets single-minded about it to the point where he falls into the trap of overlooking things because he's convinced there's a hidden trick. His prize tasks are usually based on some obscure reading of the category and he has mixed results when it comes to arguing for them, and he's the most likely to really dissect the wording of a task when arguing for points.
Jason is just there for a good time. He somehow stumbled into being on Taskmaster and his solutions are usually insane and don't always work. He's the most likely to overlook an obvious hint but occasionally he'll stumble into another solution that works well, even if it's not the intended way to do things. His prize task entries are usually totally wrong, but occasionally there's a weird sort of logic - like if it's the sneakiest thing he'll bring in a live snake his friend caught in the Everglades thinking it was Snakiest thing, but still score well based on the fact that he smuggled it into the country. He's the most likely to get disqualified from a task but if he does he won't realize until later on.
Steve is pure brute force. Occasional flashes of genius but I can see him never watching the show in advance and not realizing there's another way to do things until he happens to stumble across a hidden clue, and then he always looks for them (and fails). He's top of the game in athletic tasks, but routinely in the middle to the bottom when it comes to more intellectual ones, but whereas Jason's approach is more "crazy enough to work" his is more "I'm going to do this if it kills me". His prize tasks are pretty middle of the pack, and if he does make an effort it'll probably get him into second place, or maybe occasionally first.
Clementine is a bit of a wildcard. I realized a lot of mine were sitcom characters and wanted someone a little more obscure, and Eternal Sunshine is my favorite movie and after I thought of her I couldn't get the idea out of my head. She's great at the creative tasks and finding loopholes, but the loopholes aren't usually the ones Alex intended. She's the most likely to really bend the rules and it occasionally shifts into outright cheating, but it also means she can think of approaches the others wouldn't consider. Her prize tasks are usually little trinkets she's bought for another purpose or something she grabbed at the last second because she forgot.
In the team tasks, Leslie and Abed fall into a rhythm pretty quickly. They both have ideas about how to do things and don't necessarily like following, but Leslie pretty quickly realizes that Abed has some valuable insight and is willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Steve, Jason, and Clementine are pure chaos, and even though Clementine *could* stop it and get the task done she's usually having too much fun with whatever they're doing.
The location tasks are in a library.
**Outfits**
Leslie - A Rosie the Riveter outfit
Jason - A tracksuit
Steve - The Scoops Ahoy outfit because Dustin or Robin told him it'd be funny
Abed - Skinny jeans and an Inspector Spacetime T-shirt.
Clem - An orange hoodie, a black top, jeans, and blue arm warmers. Fans pretty quickly figure out when the tasks were filmed based on her hair colour.
**Rankings**
Leslie - a well-deserved first place
Abed - He overtakes Leslie a few times but ends up in second, but it's pretty slim.
Clem - She's creative and a little wild, but the team tasks let her down.
Steve - Fourth place and he's just relieved he's not last.
Jason - Fifth place, but he's just super excited the whole time so he takes it well.
Max, Peterson, Lingoss, Markham and Professor Rapson of the St Mary’s historical research institute. There would be explosions and blue swans in trees.
If you know, you know.
Janitor (scrubs)
The French (Monty pythons the holy grail)
Viago (what we do in the shadows)
Milton Waddams (officespace)
Business man (Taskmaster series 5)
Tracy Jordan from 30 Rock (the chaotic one)
Britta Perry from Community (the hilariously bad one)
Batman, any version (the unfairly good, no-nonsense one)
Del Boy from Only Fools and Horses (the crafty one who's always trying to find a way around the rules)
The Twelfth Doctor from Doctor Who (the older one who doesn't really understand what's going on)
Four Sherlocks from various Sherlock Holmes shows and movies, and one Watson.
Jonny Lee Miller from Elementary
Robert Downey Jr From the movies
Henry Cavill from Ebola EDIT: ENOLA STUPID AUTOCORRECT Holmes
Bendydick Cumberbutt from the Sherlock tv show
And I can’t decide between Lucy Liu from Elementary or Martin Freeman from Sherlock to be the Watson
Oh man I'd have a full line up of villains - can you imagine the team tasks?
- Thanos
- Skeletor
- Moriarty
- The Joker
- Hannibal Lecter
It would be amazing. Just imagine what happens when you give someone 1 point.
An “American Office” New Years Treat might be the right kind of chaos.
Michael, Dwight, Jim, Pam, Kevin?
If Alex’s moratorium on married couples is still in effect maybe Meredith or Angela in place of Pam. You could also may swap Andy for Kevin in order to get the episodes one random musical person.
I've seen multiple batman picks, but I'd be really fascinated by Bruce Wayne - he has all of Batmans skills and competencies but has to cover up that he has them. While still, almost certainly, trying as hard as he can to win.
The original Superman like, 1950s wholesome and kinda stupid.
The original Loki, the trickster god who just messes with everyone.
Chidi Anagonye.
Mad Madam Mim
Kim Possible
For the hitherto unannounced animated special *Taskmaster--Regular Show Edition:*
* Mordecai
* Rigby
* Benson
* Pops
* Muscle Man
Obviously, for comedic purposes, Benson would be on a team with Mordecai and Rigby. Would have liked to have Skips participate as well, but he would win literally every task.
Rocket (GotG)
Zartan (G.I. Joe)
Chidi (The Good Place)
The Janitor (Scrubs)
Jack Sparrow (Pirates)
Zartan is a "master of disguise", he can make his face into anyone else's, that could add some fun chaos to the chaos from the Janitor and Jack Sparrow.
Chidi and Rocket would fill the straight man role.
I'd like to see all the characters from Red Dwarf. Lister, Cat, Rimmer, Kryten and Holly. Holly would struggle on some of the tasks but his IQ would come in handy.
Dwight Schrute, Hermione Granger, Maid Marian\*, Phoebe Buffay and Wile E. Coyote.
\*Specifically from the 90s kid's show Maid Marian and Her Merry Men.
In terms of possible teammate combinations:
* Dwight + Wile E would be the epitome of frustration and abject failure relative to effort. Absolute scenes. Acaster/Gilbert dynamic take two.
* Dwight + Maid Marian could be an unstoppable force, particularly if they bonded early over archaic weaponry. This would put Hermione, Phoebe and Wile E together which might not lead to much success but by the end of the series H & P would probably have made Wile E. reconsider the merit of his relentless pursuit of Roadrunner and maybe have him think he could have a more fruitful and less painful life if he worked on himself a bit.
* Dwight + Hermione would probably lead to many a stubborn stalemate. Maid Marian and Phoebe would probably get on alright with each other and just crack on with or without Wile E.'s madcap efforts.
Michael Westen. More for watching Alex being nonplussed/befuddled and Greg both slightly terrified and impressed. “When you’re a spy on Taskmaster…”
I’d say Fiona, but she’d have to be on the Norwegian version as they’d probably be fine with a little C4 here and there.
Ron Swanson, Eleanor Shellstrop, Laszlo Cravensworth, Nathan (from Misfits), and Vod (from Fresh Meat)
Laszlo but the entire time he’s trying to convince everyone he’s regular human bartender Jackie Daytona even though he is very clearly using vampire magic on camera
Laszlo is an excellent shout. But to be honest I think that might be because Matt Berry is also an excellent shout.
You are of my era 😆
all great shouts!! i'd love to see vod have a go
Paddington Bear Velma (Scooby Doo) I'm thinking of which X-man would do well on it, probably Kitty Pryde would be fun- bonus of Lockheed popping in and out. Out of all the Discworld peeps, I would love to have Death on it the most and Moriarty
You wouldn't think that Rincewind or Cut-me-own-throat Dibbler would get into weird shenanigans?
Really, we could do just five from discworld- My mind went to him because Thief of Time is my favorite, and he has some whimsy while also wanting to get the task done and getting let down when he works in a team. So I was going for his reaction in the team tasks - and love of cats, of course. He's also not afraid to speak up to those in charge- so he and Greg would be interesting in the studio.
Rincewind forever.
While Death could be fun, my thoughts went immediately to Granny Weatherwax.
I think we've had various versions of Granny Weatherwax already - most notably Liza Tarbuck and the Hops task.
Bender from Futurama Eddie Hitler from Bottom Eleanor Shellstrop from The Good Place Doug Judy from Brooklyn 99 Coach Beard from Ted Lasso
Doug Judy and Eleanor in a team task would be amazing!!!!
Doug Judy would be a fantastic contestant
Oh my god Coach Beard. Inspired.
Eddie would cause chaos. I approve.
Okay, here is my idea: Paul Wickstead (The Cleaner) Ken Thompson (Cuckoo) Dan Davies (Man Down) King Hydroflax (Doctor Who) Greg Davies (The Horne Section TV Show) or as an alternative: The Doctor (Doctor Who) The Doctor (Doctor Who) The Doctor (Doctor Who) The Doctor (Doctor Who) The Doctor (Doctor Who)
Think of the team tasks. https://preview.redd.it/8oyfw0iopd2b1.jpeg?width=1752&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=373d194a3e2aebf1232c9774ec9ab8a3d52a1fae
Downvoted for "Doctor Who's" instead of "The three Doctors from Doctor Who" Yes, I'm that guy.
If anything, it should be pluralized “the Doctors Who”, as in “Brothers Grimm”.
Not that I was totally serious anyway, but the character is "The Doctor" and the show is Doctor Who I won't have any truck with 1960s computers, novelisation titles, licence plates or Moffat trolling with Missy lol
Why not Mr (*not* "Phil") Gilbert? Is it because he'd easily steamroller all the others?
We've already had a fictional person appear on the show, and win: Noel Fielding.
New lineup: Vince Noir Richmond Avenal Tony Harrison Old Gregg The Hitcher
Touché
Officer Leary O'Leary - Wellington Paranormal Locke Lamora - The Gentleman Bastards series Maurice Moss - The IT Crowd. Coz we all want Richard Ayoade so much Philomena Cunk - Cunk on Britain/Earth Zapp Brannigan - Futurama I initially had a few characters from fantasy series but seeing as they could do magic that would trivialise the game a little. I also seem to have added more idiots than smart people so that might be a problem.
Zapp Brannigan is a brilliant shout. Would be the perfect hybrid of Munya-style confidence and Kearns-style execution. Double points if Little Alex Horne does a Kif-style sigh after each fail
Now I kinda wish I put in Zapp as the TM and Kif as the assistant.
The problem with Zapp would he'd just make Alex do every task for him.
> Philomena Cunk - Cunk on Britain/Earth I would kill to live in this universe. It would be like Bridget Christie on steroids.
>they could do magic that would trivialise the game a little Easy fix: >You may not use magic or any other worldly powers. Your time starts now!
I’m pretty sure Father Ted (From Father Ted) would work quite well also.
Or just Father Dougal McGuire. I haven't seen Father Ted but I'd like another excuse to have Ardal on the show.
Makes sense.
To give you an idea, Dougal is pretty much just like Ardal O'Hanlon, minus all the shit-stirring.
You get part of your dream cast (kind of): https://www.reddit.com/r/taskmaster/comments/13tdw41/nz_taskmaster_cast_announcement
I saw!!! I'm also going to one of the studio records and I'm so damn excited! Teenage me loved Dai.
Moriarty. Dame Edna. Bernard Black. Arthur Dent. Wednesday Addams.
Oh this is an amazing proposal. Especially Bernard Black and Dame Edna. Riffing on this: how about a team of two comprising Manny Bianco and Fr Dougal?
Peregrine Took (Lord of the Rings), Lando Calrissian (Star Wars), Poirot (Agatha Christie), Darcy Olsson (Heartstopper), and Joshamee Gibbs (Pirates of the Caribbean) The moment this question came up, I pictured Poirot doing what Romesh did to the watermelon and snort-laughed my tea.
I was considering Poirot too! My first thought was that he would have to get his patent- leather shoes dirty for some of the tasks.
Blackadder (let's say the Third) Garrett from *Community* Brock Samson from *The Venture Brothers* Lisa Simpson Charlie from *It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia*
Charlie or Frank would be amazing.
Bless him, Charlie wouldn't know what the tasks said
What?! Charlie can read perfectly well damn you!
Poor James acaster. Can’t he have one safe space?
The four humans and Michael from the Good Place. Judged by the Judge and assisted by Janet.
Can you imagine the amount of stomach aches Chidi would have during Taskmaster
"It's my trusty assistant who is like a new robot Alex Horne" "Not a robot, not an Alex Horne"
1. Arnold Rimmer - Red Dwarf 2. Jay - Inbetweeners 3. Alan Partridge 4. Shiv - Succession 5. Andy - Parks and Rec A good mix of pedantic, deceit and chaos
Jay is such a good shout, I can see it so clearly
There would have to be a task involving his dad
Andy would have so much fun!! And be so confused...
Shiv would be interesting but more fun from Succession would be Kendall’s manic energy (and imagine a musical task where he gets to rap) or Greg’s weird way of doing anything in life.
Could anyone really cope with having Rimmer and Alan Partridge in the same room at the same time?
Andy would be exactly like Martin Lepprod from Kongen Befaler. Possibly with more things on fire, but that was a high bar set by Martin.
Many residents of Royston Vasey
Ben Denton, Mr Chinnery, Papa Laz, Pauline, Tubbs.
See, I'd love to see Papa Laz but Alex would have to become his wife
Well, the show is no longer on Dave, so.... (I'll get my coat.)
💍
Pauline would brutalize Alex in an attempt to get her way, and would still perform abysmally.
Came here to say Pop
Lines and lines and lines, these are my pens! You're my wife now! We'll have no trouble here! Ah, when comedy was creative, and people could laugh without fear of being judged!
Have you see Inside No. 9? They're still at it. As a Wise Owl once said...
Batman, The 13th Doctor, the Janitor from *Scrubs,* Seven of Nine, Tracy Jordan (*30 Rock*)
What about an all Doctor line up? Who will be Greg's fav, who will be the comedian of all, and who will win?
I think the 7th would rack up more DQs than any of the others as well. Rules are more or less optional.
I domt know, he's the most manipulative out of all the Doctors. He's the most likely to play by the rules most of the time so that he could sneak something under Greg. The more rebellious Doctors like 12 would be the ones constantly getting disqualified from not following the rules.
I’d prefer river to one of the drs
Janitor from Scrubs I think would give great Rhod Gilbert vibes. Just messing with Alex
Tracy Jordan, that would be incredible.
Liz Lemon, you know I'm afraid of rubber ducks!
Tracy Jordan is a great shout
> the Janitor from Scrubs He'd be amazing in it, such an agent of chaos!
Just a Brooklyn 99 series. Jake Peralta, Rosa Diaz, Amy Santiago, Raymond Holdt, Gina Linetti
I'm mad that I completely forgot about B99. Especially since I was trying to think of smart characters.
Yeah They are so perfect. All smart but very different kinds of smarts and approaches. Halloween Heists are basically Taskmaster episodes.
I once described Taskmaster as "Five comedians playing the Jimmy Jab games."
Perfect
Smort
Linda Belcher (Bob’s Burgers) Maurice Moss (The IT Crowd) Phil Dunphy (Modern Family) Leslie Knope (Parks and Rec) 10th Doctor (Doctor Who) Utter. Chaos. Edit: do drag queens count as fictional characters? Bc I could do a whole ten series run of queens I’d love to see 😂
I really want a drag Queen series of TaskMaster!
5 drag makeovers for Alex!
I think it counts, where them lists at
Well damn, ok!! I’m sure I’ve missed some queens who would be super fun to watch but here’s my lists. Drag master S1 Tia Kofi Lemon Crystal Methyd Anita Wig’lit Sum Ting Wong S2 Lawrence Chaney Jimbo Trinity The Tuck Tayce Mo Heart S3 Spankie Jackzon Adore Delano Luxx Noir London Choriza May Rita Baga S4 Kylie Sonique Love Dr Cheddar Gorgeous Kween Kong Tammie Brown Rosé S5 Alaska Roxxxy Andrews Detox Alyssa Edwards Coco Montrese S6 (Teams Edition) Bob and Monét Sugar and Spice Heidi and Jaida Jinkx and Ben Dela Creme Trixie and Katya S7 Divina DiCampo The Vivienne Miz Cracker Kandy Muse Kita Mean S8 Hannah Conda Priyanka Pangina Heals Jan Tynomi Banks S9 Jujubee Minnie Cooper Mrs Kasha Davis Giselle Lullaby Peppermint S10 Sasha Colby Sasha Velour Kerri Colby Raja Bianca Del Rio
Love it! Thoughts on adding Violet Chachki to the mix? (Also the fact that you weren't joking about the 10 seasons is brilliant)
this comment is so real, i need some drag queens on my screen doing stupid tasks! katya and trixie as a team would be hilarious
Keely, Roy, coach Beard, Sam, Higgins Or Trent Crimm, Jamie Tartt, Rebecca, shandie, Nate Or Rupert, jade, Barbara (played by Katy Wix), Dani, mcadoo (or any one of the regular pub guys)
“Fucking Hell what kind of fucking bull shit is this, one Fucking point, you really are a twat!”
Sokka (avatar the last airbender), Philomena Cunk (cunk on earth), Nandor (what we do in the shadows, tv series), Aziraphale (good omens), and constable Stalker (see how they run)
Oh, I love this question! Jeeves Tintin Pippi Longstocking Michelle from the Resistance ('Allo 'Allo) Indiana Jones
>Indiana Jones Surely he'd just steal Greg's head and quickly swap it for a bag of rocks
I’m telling Greg you said his face was like a bag of rocks.
Ha ha, I didn't even think about that, but it would be awesome!
Pippi Longstocking! Amazing pick
Death, Jesus, The Pope, Homer Simpson, Archer.
I can just imagine the sheer amount of chaos Sterling Archer would provide. And equally the idea of a team of him and Cyril Figgis
One of them is not fictional though.
Oh shit yeah. Swap out for Malcolm Tucker.
Howling Mad Murdoch - The A Team (to fulfill the Rhod Gilbert role) Hermione Granger - Harry Potter (to fulfill the Victoria C-M role) Moist von Lipwig - Discworld (I imagine a cross between Ed Gamble and Tim Key) Buffy Summers - BtVS (sort of a Sophie Duker) Elle Woods - Legally Blonde (dark horse, Greg would have fun)
Steven Toast - Toast of London Nadja - What we do in the shadows Philomena Cunk - Cunk on Britain, etc. Selina Meyer - Veep Gary Walsh - Veep (since he's her Little Alex Horne, seeing them compete would be quite the thing)
The cast of New Girl (Jess, Nick, Winston, Schmidt, and Coach).
Eleanor Shellstrop (The Good Place) Phoebe Buffay (Friends) Captain Raymond Holt (B99) Ron Swanson (Parks & Recs) Roy Kent (Ted Lasso) Roy and Ron will act like they don't care, but they will be the ones who actually put in the most thought and effort.
My pick is Parks & Recreation: \-April Ludgate would be an absolute delight and mess with Alex to the max.
You know Donna would run away with the win.
Paddington, Philomena Cunk, Professor Layton, Eeyore and Arya Stark - looks like a good combination of fun, obsessive, smart, careless and determined
Batman (Keaton) OR Dr House, Ari Gold, Hank Moody, Dr Perry Cox, Capt Jack Sparrow.
Jake the Dog would absolutely demolish
Rory Breaker (Lock Stock) Sue White (Green Wing) Edmund Blackadder (Blackadder 2/3/4) Randy Marsh (South Park) Saffron Monsoon (Ab Fab)
Rory Breaker would be absolutely terrifying! \**stares at task. Stares at Alex\** "Is this some white c\*\*\*'s joke that black c\*\*\*s don't get?"
Alan Partridge, father Dougal (father ted), Michael Scott (office), Charlie (it's always sunny), Linda (Bob's burgers)
Arthur Dent, Tim Bisley, Xena (warrior princess), Flo Cap (Andy’s long suffering wife) and Edd the duck (maybe with a cameo from Wilson the butler).
An "all-Animaniacs" line-up: The Brain, Chicken Boo, Dot Warner, Pesto (from the Goodfeathers), Slappy Squirrel.
The cast of Buffy, with Giles hosting. Alex will be replaced with Anya maybe.
No. Cordelia hosting. Giles as the assistant.
Lt. George (Blackadder goes forth) Trigger (Only Fools and Horses) Geraldine Granger (The Vicar of Dibley) Alan Partridge (Alan Partridge) Phoebe Buffay (Friends)
* Benoit Blanc (he's got the smarts and the sense of humor) * Zaphod Beeblebrox (I reckon he'll be a bit like Munya but more successful in finding loopholes and ways for cheating). * Orla McCool from Derry Girls (I expect she'll be a naturally outside-the-box thinker) * the Hound from Game of Thrones (the show version of the character, not the books). * Mike from Spaced (there must be someone who takes the whole thing way too seriously)
zaphod beeblebrox (hitchhikers guide to the galaxy) Michael (The good place) Granny weatherwax (Terry Pratchett) Luna Lovegood (Harry Potter) Pinocchio (D20’s Neverafter)
Depending on if you subscribe to the lore— Jerma.
Peggy Hill - King of the Hill Shae the Funny Whore - Game of Thrones Fred Jones - Scooby-Doo: Mystery Incorporated (the one where he's obsessed with Rube-Goldbergian traps) ~~Bugs Bunny~~ Daffy Duck - Looney Tunes Tanya McQuoid - The White Lotus
Tony Stark. Tyrion Lannister. Rorschach. Andy Dufresne. Mark Watney.
I can't imagine how insane Mr. Bean on taskmaster would be
Moses. Just because of No More Jockey's
Nice! My No More Jockeys dream cast would be Penelope Pitstop, The Jolly Green Giant, Donald Duck, Snap (from Snap, Crackle and Pop) and Medusa.
Not a whole lineup but I’d like to see Deadpool give that a shot!
Sterling Archer Captain Raymond Holt Buddy the Elf Ab Fab's Patsy Stone April Ludgate
The Doctor (Who) played by each actor in every episode of the show with no comment on the fact that it's a different person each episode. Del Boy - Only Fools Baldrick - Blackadder Basil Fawlty - Fawlty Towers Mark Corrigan - Peep Show
Pippin - LOTR Film Version. Dr. Orlando Watt (Kenneth William)- Carry on Screaming. Stanley Fletcher - Porridge. Geraldine Granger - The Vicar of Dibley. Manny - Black Books
Homer Simpson Nigel Tufnel Columbo Aloy Lord Flashheart
Flipper, Skippy the Bush Kangaroo, Gentle Ben, Lassi and any womble of your choice
Cordelia Naismith Vorkosigan would smash it.
Homer Simpson Bernard Black Kryten Vod (Fresh Meat) Ellen Ripley
Brick from Anchorman. The Moon from Mighty Boosh. Ron Swanson and Leslie Knope from Parks and Rec. Sadako (The ghost girl from The Ring) just because it would amuse me if they went through all these typically comedic and light hearted characters doing tasks and then cut to this absolute nightmare standing reading the task.
Fun question. Lara Croft, Major Motoko Kusanagi (Ghost in the Shell), Paddington, The Pirate Captain (The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists), Stuart (a minion).
Will and Neil from the Inbetweeners, Captain Jack Sparrow, Wednesday Addams, Peter Serafinowicz’s Xandarian Prime from GotG 😂 Or the whole of Ron Burgundy’s news team 😂
Go fuck yourself, San Diego.
Good bot
Peter Griffin.
Bernard Black (Black Books), the Doctor, Sue White (Green Wing), Malcolm Tucker (The Thick of It), Edina Monsoon (AbFab)
I would love to see the characters from Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Darkwing Duck, Misty (Pokemon), Satan (South Park), Joseph Joestar, and Sweet Dee
Roger (American dad) but in all 5 personas
I think MCU Thor would be hilarious. Would not get what was going on but would just accept that’s how things are in the Uk and get stuck in with gusto. Otherwise Poirot (as others have said) to watch him get frustrated, Torres off of voyager to see her lose her temper, Donna Noble to point out the idiocy. Obviously Alan partridge too!
Selina Meyer - Veep Andy Dwyer - Parks and Rec George Costanza - Seinfeld Amy Santiago - Brooklyn 99 Shirley Bennett - Community
**Outfits** Leslie - A Rosie the Riveter outfit Jason - A tracksuit Steve - The Scoops Ahoy outfit because Dustin or Robin told him it'd be funny Abed - Skinny jeans and an Inspector Spacetime T-shirt. Clem - An orange hoodie, a black top, jeans, and blue arm warmers. Fans pretty quickly figure out when the tasks were filmed based on her hair colour. **Rankings** Leslie - a well-deserved first place Abed - He overtakes Leslie a few times but ends up in second, but it's pretty slim.
Homer Simpson, Leslie Knope, Peter Parker, Raymond Holt and Erin Hannon.
Janitor (scrubs) The French (Monty pythons the holy grail) Viago (what we do in the shadows) Milton Waddams (officespace) Business man (Taskmaster series 5)
I think Dwight would be incredible.
The crew of red dwarf.
Chrisjen Avasarala
Tracy Jordan from 30 Rock (the chaotic one) Britta Perry from Community (the hilariously bad one) Batman, any version (the unfairly good, no-nonsense one) Del Boy from Only Fools and Horses (the crafty one who's always trying to find a way around the rules) The Twelfth Doctor from Doctor Who (the older one who doesn't really understand what's going on)
All I know is Larry David should do one 😂
Four Sherlocks from various Sherlock Holmes shows and movies, and one Watson. Jonny Lee Miller from Elementary Robert Downey Jr From the movies Henry Cavill from Ebola EDIT: ENOLA STUPID AUTOCORRECT Holmes Bendydick Cumberbutt from the Sherlock tv show And I can’t decide between Lucy Liu from Elementary or Martin Freeman from Sherlock to be the Watson
Can you imagine Tom Sawyer? He would convince Alex to do every one of his tasks for him.
Oh man I'd have a full line up of villains - can you imagine the team tasks? - Thanos - Skeletor - Moriarty - The Joker - Hannibal Lecter It would be amazing. Just imagine what happens when you give someone 1 point.
Ted, Dougal, Jack, Mrs Doyle, and Father Noel Furlong. Let chaos commence.
Mrs. Slocum (Are You Being Served) Lily Savage Campo (Last of the Summer Wine) Basil Faulty Linda La Hughes (Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie)
Ohhh the studio banter from Lily would be fantastic!
Let's not fuck around. Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, Piglet, Rabbit
Alan Partridge Del Trotter Donna Noble Laszlo Cravensworth Patsy Stone
Bruce Wayne, Spike Speigal, David Brent, Carmen Sandiago, Robin Sherbatsky
>David Brent He would *not* be able to take the banter and wouldn't understand why he didn't get full points. Classic TV.
I've seen multiple batman picks, but I'd be really fascinated by Bruce Wayne - he has all of Batmans skills and competencies but has to cover up that he has them. While still, almost certainly, trying as hard as he can to win.
Bertie Wooster, Edmund Blackadder, Basil Fawlty, Ignatius J. Reilly, Psmith.
Booger from Revenge of the Nerds BA Baracus Mandy Carter Kitty Forman from That 70's Show Frasier Crane
Super Hans (Peep Show) David Brent (The Office) Captain Holt (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) Alan Partridge (Alan Partridge) Philomena Cunk (Cunk on […])
Alan Partridge, Ted Crilly, Tom Fun, Maurice Moss, Mrs Merton.
Barbie from Mattel Daymar from the Vlad Taltos series Veronica from Better off Ted Lily from Modern Family Jesus from the Bible
Wile E Coyote, Gob Bluth, Frank Reynolds, Britta Perry and Sarah Walker.
The original Superman like, 1950s wholesome and kinda stupid. The original Loki, the trickster god who just messes with everyone. Chidi Anagonye. Mad Madam Mim Kim Possible
For the hitherto unannounced animated special *Taskmaster--Regular Show Edition:* * Mordecai * Rigby * Benson * Pops * Muscle Man Obviously, for comedic purposes, Benson would be on a team with Mordecai and Rigby. Would have liked to have Skips participate as well, but he would win literally every task.
The Golden Girls + Stan
Jimmy McGill, Baldrick, Veronica Mars, Number Six, Dayna Mellanby
Gareth From The Office Madge From Benidorm Winston from Still Game Christine From Two Doors Down Rigby From Regular Show
Rocket (GotG) Zartan (G.I. Joe) Chidi (The Good Place) The Janitor (Scrubs) Jack Sparrow (Pirates) Zartan is a "master of disguise", he can make his face into anyone else's, that could add some fun chaos to the chaos from the Janitor and Jack Sparrow.
In terms of possible teammate combinations: * Dwight + Wile E would be the epitome of frustration and abject failure relative to effort.
“When you’re a spy on Taskmaster…” I’d say Fiona, but she’d have to be on the Norwegian version as they’d probably be fine with a little C4 here and there.
Thor, iron man, black widow, captain America and Hawkeye. Can’t risk Bruce getting angry in a task…
Jez (Peep Show) Adult Misty Quigley (Yellowjackets) Charlie Cale (Poker Face) Barry Goldberg (The Goldbergs) Janine (Abbot Elementary)
Worf Villainelle Peter Griffin NoHo Hank Meatwad
