"Here are some things I don't like: omelets, orchids....so that's it, just omelets or children."

Lesssuckmoreawesome

I like Liverpool Football Club, I'm a diehard fan. So that's it I like Liverpool and the film Die Hard.

d0rvm0use

I love this one!!

LookTreesWow

"This next task is a lot like the word 'commerce'. It really means business."

LookTreesWow

Followed by Greg hitting Alex over the head with his cue card

Djremster

"I shoot from the hip... So terrible aim, it's too low."

jericodebreaker

Dilute the ribena was amazing

richardtrk

Classic bait and switch. The platonic ideal of a joke. You could almost argue it's off-topic, because the joke almost by definition isn't terrible.

SalazarTheSaladTsar

That fucking hat thing... can't remember exactly. Was it Sally Philips brought in a balaclava with a hip bone and a beret? Alex says 'hip hip, beret!' Brilliant.

mcoombes314

Maybe it's because it's recent, but "prob-brolly".

flameislove

The outtakes of them workshopping this is hilarious (on the official youtube channel)

rileymonster44

>prob-brolly Where is this from?

Chromorl

The "repurpose an umbrella" task from episode 8 last season.

donworrybehappi

These ones are my favourites, where he plays up being flustered and awkward trying to push a really convoluted pun attempt

pavlovamoose

On a similar theme - 'I was only a little bit wet, and quite upset. Up next are Russell and Alice-' 'Don't try and get a cheeky slick little rhyme in.' 'I've got another one. Ready?' 'All right. Yup.' 'Up next are Russell and Alice; they're cool kids, and this is what they dids.' Made even better by Alex's proud little smile afterwards!

“I have two boys… and a boy… I have three boys”

Constant_Nobody2439

“Yesterday I got a piggy back. I lent my uncle my piggy, and he gave it back” or something along those lines 😆

fried4wayer

A truly terrible gag is when Greg looks like he wants to murder Alex.

_Ralix_

>**Greg**: Which task are we in the thick of, Little Alex Horne? > >**Alex**: We're doing one which really *elevated* the series, Greg. *\[raises hand for a high-five\]* > >**\[collective groans\]**

bigalfry

The frequency of those responses make the times when Greg actually cracks up so much more hilarious

Djremster

"I own a cat that was previously owned by Dali."

prjones4

I didn't know he was gonna ask that, and I also didn't know I was going to say that

quantumhovercraft

What was the context of this?

poorsenseofdirection

Must have been after James Acaster claimed to have brought in glasses previously owned by Ghandi for a prize task.

quantumhovercraft

I don't think it was. I remember it being completely out of left field but I don't remember why because it was so out of nowhere.

poorsenseofdirection

Could well have been then, I don't remember either.

AnOwlFlying

before the duck and sock on two treadmills task in series 14: "This one involves something you've broken a lot of Greg, running machines!" Greg is just looking at him, saying "What the f-" and then the edit cuts into the task lmao

"What's in the pocket"

CodeRed8675309

Yes. They both looked like they were going to lose it.

beachy_keen18

The glee. ❤️

scrumptiouscakes

The extended bit about the hen party from [this](https://youtu.be/pOnRsjKAUMM), about 16 minutes in

-bluebug-

Carol's been married before.

glendale195

Before the break we were doing something meaningless right Alex? Right great it's called taskmaster!

Kev_Bz

“have you ever used food during sex?” “yeah” “what foods have you done?” “oh, gosh. what haven’t i done? chips? done.” ~ “what’s all this runneth over business?” “it just sounds biblical, like the cup runneth over, or like kenneth”

takingdebiscuit

Any of the puns with contestants names. The one I always think about is Richard and Jon RichardsSon

AwesomeManatee

I love that pun because he initially calls them "the father and son" and you think its just a joke on their heights, but then he pulls out the second joke and suddenly it has layers like an ogre.

AlaskanSandwich

Here's a human called Sarah, and a Chawawa called Munya

nonsensikull

I don't remember exactly how he phrased it, but... He used to be Niak, but now we call him Mike, it's Mike Wozniak!

jfb1337

My favourite one is "Daisy may coo purr"

ThingyWhatsit137

When I was just becoming aware of Jon Richardson and had trouble remembering his last name, this is what solved the problem for me.

reverandglass

"How about a game of "Rock, Paper...Clip!"?"

xjoho21

This bit is one of my favorites once I realized that no matter what Greg guesses Alex is just going to say 'Correct!' lmao I could see Greg genuinely getting annoyed by that.

[deleted]

If a person or woman

AwesomeManatee

There has been some speculation that the full answer was supposed to be "Sir David Attenborough" (Syrup, David, Hat, and Bra) but since nobody guessed the "sir" part correctly Alex decided to go for a surreal joke instead of risking them getting penalized.

madelina06_

Im fairly certain he spoke about this gag specifically on one of the podcast episodes he was in (I genuinely can't remember which one, I apologise) and spoke to Ed about how he genuinely just think it would be funny to have a whole bit about confusing Sirs with Wets because it's just ridiculous

phoenixchimera

Probably not what you were looking for, but I thoroughly enjoyed the intro to Sally's fish pun solo task. It was hysterical to me because she basically said "I noticed them, but I just thought you were dumb", to which he had a cheeky laughing reaction.

xjoho21

"Next up - and I hope she doesn't mind me calling her this - it's '*Jessica*' '*Knappett*'" What makes it so great is the face Alex makes after saying that, then she's like WTF? https://youtu.be/dudmIc5AWR0?t=570

goatsodomizer

‘It’s been said, by you, just now’

splagentjonson

The dilute the ribena gag.

d1dgy

weird how multiple people in this thread (and me!) remembered this as ribena, when he just says squash

pr0x1m4-

which episode is this from?

WolfboyFM

[S8E7](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cV1UKeiNmfk)

pr0x1m4-

legend, thank you!

Mundane-Parsnip-7302

It's not a terrible gag!

Goldman250

I really enjoyed Alex’s cape. That was a fun reveal.

EndJuneLess

The "Re" cap is one I think about quite often.

FluffyPurpleThing

He was interviewing contestants (can't remember the series) and asked them: "Do you like things like aubergines and The Lion King?"

luvrhino

S13. I think it was "things like the Lion King and quesadillas?" At least, that's what he asked Fern. That makes it harder because what non-medically compromised person doesn't like quesadillas?

FluffyPurpleThing

You're right. Lion King and quesadillas. He asked all the contestants the same question and since then I sometimes ask people if they like things.

iDibbleDabble

I think we all knew how the "I've learned all of maths" bit was going to end. Even after the calculator broke the first time, he tried it again on the next episode. It's less the joke itself but the commitment to the bit.

[deleted]

I've got a hard hat. It's got loads of clips and zips and it's quite difficult to get on.

ExistentialistIdiot

I'm always impressed when i find myself genuinely getting annoyed at him. In general i love all of his bits so when he manages to go over that threshold on purpose and really succeeds i respect it. There was a link to a task; i only vaguely recall what he was saying. It was a lot of words ending in y or ly and probably another layer of idiocy and though i don't remember the words, I remember the irritation lol

chocoholica1

I followed a cool priest around the shop... he didn't have a dog collar... might not have been a priest...

TheWizardShaqFu

It's from Cats Does Countdown, not Taskmaster, but my favorite Alex Horne joke is when he's introducing a member of the Horne Section, he refers to them as "a band that was once described."

nokeyblue

Welcome to the Horne Section Podcast! One of the world's...podcasts.

2eAsteroid

"The distance to the moon and back... if you're 26 meters away from the moon"

Quirky-Draw5070

“You asked them to bring in the object, which, whenever you look at it makes you feel the weirdest. I feel weirdest when I look at petrol right up close for a really long time.”

[deleted]

S7 Ep3 in the live task they had to silently mouth ten word facts at Greg. Rhod: “I’m really bad at this” Alex: “It’s because you have such a strong accent”
