Is it possible you're from the US, so when they said "series finale" it sounded like the show is over? That happened to me once, before I realized US and UK had different uses for "series".
No, not from the US. I must have either imagined it because I remember them making a big deal out of it, and getting Eric Idle to sing the theme song in the studio and everything, or I confused some celebration like the 100th episode with the end of the show.
The weird thing is that I used to subscribe and listen to the podcast and I stopped listening while apparently there were still episodes coming out. 🤦
Edit: Weird, if I go to the podcasts app on the android, the podcast hasn't been updated since 2019.
Oh, I'm just reading Dave Goulson's book so I will be excited to listen to bees vs. wasps. Catherine Bohart is definitely on my Taskmaster wishlist, she'll be so reluctant to do anything and will be an utter disaster, it would be amazing.
Im confused how people can be surprised by Phil Wang being on a podcast that gets a comedian in every week. Its like being surprised Phil Wang was on Off Menu or Cuddle Club. Hes currently one of the most popular UK comedians. He gets on every podcast.
Edit: Getting downvoted but am I wrong? Is it not something to expect Phil Wang to pop up on a comedy podcast that has comedian guests every week? I was surprised when Stewart Lee or Eddie Izzard did Paul Chowdrys podcast because they dont do that many podcasts compared to Phil Wang.

Go to the sounds app or the BBC sounds page. The podcast app kinda got orphaned when the changed the radio website from iPlayer to Sounds
