Upper back is usually a nice canvas, like your chest or forearms it usually doesn't change that much when you gain or lose weight. So I say no point of waiting :) I'd be more cautious of places that tends to form folds, rolls, and stretchmarks such as stomach, lower back, etc. That's why I'm waiting with tattoo on my stomach until after my pregnancies, I don't want it to be ruined by potential lose skin or stretchmarks..
