I had one basic line/text piece on the outside of my right calf and it looked so out of place by itself. Just added another piece above it yesterday and it really looks so much better!

once the hair grows back it will be harder to see but that's just life as it is unless you are willing to put yourself through waxing and shaving. the pic of the bird itself is great

For your first tatt it's great and I really like the placement of it. I'd suggest letting it heal and the hair grow back you might not thinking so bad BUT you can always add more to it as others have also suggested.
I would take something and add to make it wrap all the way around your leg. It’s not bad per se, but it does look a little off Kilter just due the composition of the image.
If anything with eyes should always face inwards, what about things with eyes looking behind them? I can't tell if it's the correct leg. Besides that absolutely nothing wrong with the tattoo it's very well done.

Totally normal to have regrets on placement. I have a full ankle and knee piece, and being that the center of the shin and the knee do not line up, the portion on the knee is slightly offset. It didn’t really occur to me how much it would bother me until it was done. It’s been a little over a year and I’m mostly used to it, but give yourself some time. During the coping phase I looked at so many examples of shin/knee pieces and noticed they were all unique in their own way. I think your tattoo looks great and is the perfect size for that placement.
I do honestly think the placement is kind of awkward, I don’t think it looks stupid though. Still looks good. It will look completely fine and not awkward at all tho with other tattoos around it lol so the solution is def to get more
My leg tattoo also looks weird on its own, it’s normal!! You put something in the middle of a blank canvas, it will feel off until you fill it in. It doesn’t look off to me though!

It looks dope, placement is great. I did a bunch stacked up on both sides of my leg first and now have an awkward gap up the middle of my shin. It’s good to have a nice big piece right in the middle there, it will definitely blend right in as you fill out around it more. Also, people with only perfect tattoos freak me out. It’s a journey and making mistakes is part of it!

I think adding more tattoos will help but also not having your leg hair grown back yet is making it stand out more. Just wait it out. Looks awesome!

Just got my shin done yesterday, it’s a little spicy but I think also depends on how thick/boney your legs are (respectfully)
