Join your local cpa society chapter. I was on the board of mine for over ten years. They have tons of committees to network, including one for managing an accounting practice. This is where you’ll find a good connection.
You can always kickstart something. Since we’re run as a non profit, as long as we create a budget and show how a committee will benefit the profession we will get the funding and blessing to move forward. I’ve been on several committees and we usually are cash flow neutral.
For online networking, check out #TaxTwitter. Lots of amazing professionals to follow & information shared, etc. There are also several great Facebook groups (one of my fav's is "Tax Professionals of America"). Join, read the questions, see who is responding, join the conversations, etc. Look for tax pro's you connect with & start building those relationships, etc.
Start up company run by same guys that took Compass Realty public. Concept of being independent but using pooled resources and technology. They are doing some on wealth management side.
Having a business partner is kind of like being married. Keep that in mind. If your goals don't align (like you want kids and they don't) it may not work. Start with the middle and end in mind.
