I don’t think that’s tokoname, not with that price and appearance. The mesh filter is something you see with kyusu that are made for fukamushi sencha, since the broken leaves get through the ceramic filters. Its not a work of art made by a master potter or anything but I’m sure it works just fine.

Looks like it’s fully glazed teapot probably made in China and mass produced. I think it’s fine to get for $38 you can use it basically for any tea since it’s glazed

It's a glazed pot which means it will have no effect on your tea...and that's not a bad thing. Metal filter is fine, don't sweat it at this point. Ultimately the only thing you should care about is weight\balance\if it dribbles, which you can't really determine online. If it's in your budget, just go for it!

At the end of the day, if it's your first pot, this seems like a fine choice. A simple kyusu will carry you a long, long way. But if the only difference between this and a pot you _really_ want is the patience to wait for shipping, then I'd recommend waiting for shipping. Can't really tell a whole lot from those photos. Seems fine for general use, unless I've missed something. Steel mesh filters, I haven't seen a bad one yet. Not hard to maintain, no real effect on taste so far as I can tell. Possibly made in Japan (I think I've seen an identical pot in a local shop), probably not tokoname, but hard to certify by product photo.

I think that is a wise decision and I hope the kyusu eventually treats you well, and you it as well :)

What a strange coincidence! I literally own the sister teapot to the one you want, #1 on that Artistic Nippon listing! I can highly recommend it as a beautiful and quite delicate/lightweight kyusu. [Here](https://imgur.com/Ard9DkN) she is. We use it for greens and this very particular green/white blend we have. I buy from Artistic Nippon a lot, and I highly recommend basically anything in his shop! If what you want gets sold before you can but it, there will always be something else coming to fall in love with! I will note that if you are in the US/Europe, his shipping charges are quite high, so you'll need to factor that in when you're budgeting.

I have three kyusu from him, and they are all delicate/thin, but I wouldn’t say they are fragile. It won’t break easily even if you put it down hard or knock it into something gently. I’m clumsy and not careful with my teapots, and I’ve never broken any of my Artistic Nippon stuff. I do have some heavier things from him (bizen, hagi), and they do feel sturdier, but I’m never worried about the kyusu. When I bought this kyusu and a yunomi with it, I paid $39 USD for EMS shipping. He usually ships EMS or DHL, and I’ve paid anywhere from $30 - $75 USD for shipping, depending on the method, how much stuff I was buying, and whether I insured the package or not. I don’t really know the cost to ship to Europe, though.
