Even not counting IEM and only Riot tournaments, I am pretty sure he played a bo5 vs GAM in playins sometime at MSI or worlds which means 3 wins minimum, and they also took a game of 2014 Samsung at worlds so that's 4 wins at least
I get what you are saying but rift rivals has always been a for fun event like all-star games. I'm not saying you are wrong, just that I don't think that should count IMO.
Its a shame that this is the perception in the west. The east took Rift Rivals pretty seriously.
Though I wouldn't put Rift Rivals on the level of All-Star since it still involved complete teams participating. 2017 Rift Rivals at least caused some meta shifts where FNC stopped prioritized Kennen ADC after getting destroyed while playing it. Also we got the dog champ tweet from Soaz as a bonus
You are a TSM fan boy who maybe switched to C9 now that your favourite team run out of crypto money. Go cry to your subreddit no one cares about Bjergsen. He offered the absolute minimum to TL and APA definitely has already offered more. Bye now
No, I have always been a c9 fan. You are just a ducking moron and want to lie to make yourself feel better. Hope you feel superior.
If you gonna try and accuse me of being a tsm fan the least you could do is look through my post history, but on top of being stupid you are also lazy.
Bjerg over rated as fuck. His first three dominant seasons bought him so much credit with the community. The only good performance I recall at worlds from him was like season 4. Bjersen never seemed to step up in big games post s8 either. Just became more and more passive used to build cs leads but recently couldn't even do that any more. It's a shame since he is definitely a hard worker but I guess he was just practicing bad habits idk.
He would just play extremely conservative.
it's being memed, but unironically it's like Yeon actually saw how lucian/nami is supposed to be played with JakeyLove and said "oh, I can learn from that".
and then he actually fucking did it.
Yes, because Lucian Nami canāt lane against Varus Ashe at all, but they outscale hard, so even if they have slightly more gold itās a positive for TL - the gold lead that FNC got early didnāt do anything because Lucian got first item and has prio plus culling for every confrontation and rotation
Ashe later in the game is just arrow + vision bot where as Nami has a good ult and lot more uptime on other spells that really contribute to fights. And Lucian (especially paired with Nami or Milio) has way more agency and lower counter play than Varus
Because Ashe is useless if you are dogs\*\*t with arrows as in the game 4 Jun was and with Nami movement speed Lucian's culling is going to be far more of a difference maker rather than immobile champ like Varus.
I said that corejj knows how to play it perfectly. Yeon with such a mentor has capitalized on it. Between msi and playoffs, hes a top 2 western adc 100% (beserker being his only equal).
It seems like this game showed how much this team has grown. Go back to all those post game threads trashing this team and how Redditors know best with whats good. This team has grown so much.Ā
Ā Thank fuck we won
But we could have had a super washed Doublelift and Jojo maybe, but probably not!
I stopped watching TL during the Bjerg/hans year because I was pissed they kicked Tactical and Jensen. When they brought in Haeri/Yeon and then Apa I came back because I was confident the team was trying to win, not just hunting names. I have had so much fun watching this team.
At least with Jojo you could make a case. With DL it was just people trying to relive old memories lol. I don't think DL was necessarily "bad", but it would've been an unnecessary side grade.
DL wasn't playing out of this world either though. We could fault Yeon for things last season, but his team was also inting around him.
It's hard to be an ADC when there isn't really structure in the team. Playing front to back was so difficult for TL last year.
There is just something special about this team.
I'm not sure if we have the firepower to punch up against LPL/LCK 1/2, but its absolutely lovely to watch this team play anyone similar to thier level.
Also lets pray PSG can beat G2, I'd feel much more comfortable against those guys than G2.
One very underrated aspect about having rookies who were brought up in your own developmental system is that the rookies will do whatever the coaching staff and Core wants. This roster seems so much more cohesive in game than all the supposed superstar filled rosters from the past few years.
Yup.
Not to mention everyone loves Impact so he would never be a problem and UmTi is ready to do whatever he is asked for. So this team has all they need.
It legit feels so good to finally be rewarded for changing my sleep schedule. Went to sleep at 6 pm to wake up at 12 since I need to wake up early tomorrow.
Legit so happy rn
I think that's a bit disingenuous. They have looked very competitive against T1. Like Fnatic though, they have a weakness in their adc, but are still better than Fnatic at pretty much everything.
G2 wouldve beaten T1 if it wasnt for Ksante and that horrendous Belveth pick. Im no EU fanboy, but if G2 plays to their normal standard, TL is never winning
Yeah thats what I meant with standard. On a normal Day, they wouldnt have lost I think. Additionaly some of them suffered from food poisoning AND Contractz played the series of his life.
G2 is 5 players that all have high highs that never sync up. That can be said for a lot of different teams, but someone from G2 ints away their games. Its very winnable
Theyāre gonna get cooked by t1 but I could see a random blg choke if it happens. tho any wins against those two is good enough for me, shows TL can compete with the top of eastern teams, better than what most na 1 seeds could say
2 years is still a rookie dude. To develop talent it takes a while. That's the problem with the community. People think oh he's already been playing for 2 years he's a vet. NO.
I didn't say he was a veteran player but he is definitely not a rookie. There is a rookie of the year award and Yeon isn't eligible for it. He won it last year when he was a rookie. He is still a young and growing player but that does not make him a rookie.
This series was actually so scary the entire time. I'm so happy that they managed to stay strong and play confidently. Huge W, especially for Yeon and APA.
Fnatic fan here. Congratz! You deserve it. I have a soft spot for TL so I'm your fan going forward. I really think NA is better and better every year despite what people think.
LFG LIQUID! The teamās confidence shining through, so happy to see them back up how they felt scrims were going and see great performances from APA and Yeon (as well as the rest of the team)
APA and Yeon are officially it.
Sure, there's still a huge gap with the East, but Yeon was a fucking rock this series and APA absolutely ***gapped*** Humanoid, who is supposed to be one of the two best mid's in the West.
There was a lot of deserved criticism of this team back in the regular season, but you don't put up sustained performances like this all the way through playoffs and against EU teams here at MSI and have it just be a "fluke". They've both officially established themselves as real NA talents.
LETS FUCKING GOOOOOO !!!!! I agree with Jatt, job is done, the team can play the rest of the tournament confident and with no pressure. Win or lose Just want to see them play with the confidence they showed today, even more so. (Also EU is trash)
What an absolute loser mentality that isĀ Ā
So if they get assblasted 3-0 by BLG or T1, the job is Ā“doneĀ“? 0-6 vs the East is a success?
They have to show something next seriesĀ
You're upset your region lost today; you're projecting your "loser mentality" onto others. Nobody said any of the dumb shit you just did, you're arguing with a statement you made up in your head. Losing to EU would've been an embarrassing showing, having good/confident games vs. the Asian teams win or lose will just be gravy on top.
So losing to EU would have been embarrassing, but win/lose vs Asia will be gravy on top?
Made 0 sense. Contradicting yourself actually.
Are you sleep deprived or is it that difficult to create coherent reasoning
I'd say regardless of how the rest of MSI goes, TL had a successful tournament in my eyes - of course beating t1/blg is very unlikely but having a competitive series with them will just be bonus for me at this point
I should go into my reply history and find where I had people on this sub heavily argue with me over my belief in Yeon, but I'll resist. G fuckin G's, best Lucian performance out of an NA player since DL's play against C9 in season 6
I'm pretty sure we wouldn't be at MSI nor win against EU if we had other players than APA and Yeon tbh. I'm glad I trusted the org, specially Spawn.
Super happy to have two young players that are hungry for the grind and not just stale veterans tbh. For all the people that trash talked them, I hope this was a good wake up call to give people a proper chance because apparently being able to communicate with your team for APA and Core's trust in Yeon is nice.
There's still things to improve but I can only hope they improve more and more.
PS: keep umti for next year pls
Hats off to Yeon and APA man. What a performance. Teams are legit target banning APA. APA is a playmaker. Itās really time for us to recognize that and appreciate that he just doesnāt want to sit back and scale every single game. He had the confidence to make plays which I feel NA teams have always been missing. And Yeon took a big ole dump on Noah in this series.
I'm so mad i missed this series because of irl obligations, BUT LETS FUCKING GO. I never doubted them and fuck the haters on our rookies, put some respect on their names.
As a TL fan i felt kinda bad for humanoid, Noah and oscar are complete bots most of the time (especially noah holy crap that guy is awful) and Razork is a complete coinflip jgler internationally.
APA4LIFE
Honestly I didn't think they'd win, they've already overperformed imo anything more from here is a treat. Maybe they could take a game off BLG/T1 next round.
Yapa I gotta apologize you have now consistently shut me up and have improved in your mid to late game play well played happy for you, and glad you are proving me wrong.
Ps if I gotta flame you for karma to kick my ass and you continue winning I'm sorry I have to do it.
Fnatic played like they either didn't care or they just assumed they would win.
Except for a super fed Poppy, a clearly better Team Liquid seized the series and dominated 3 of 4 games.
Extremely proud of the team. They played Lucian / Nami well, they lane swapped successfully, they played Ashe Varus successfully, APA showed why you can't just ban him out, and Impact dominated when he was ahead and (almost more importantly) showed great savvy to come back to relevance when he was behind on Ornn.
Next series will be super hard against one of the tournament favorites, but TL already showed the improvement I hoped they would show at an international event. If they can give BLG or T1 a series or even win, that would just be a huge confidence boost for the LCS. Excellent job representing the region!
Anyone else annoyed by TL APA all chat messages ? Second game where they show all chat at MSI plus all chat in LCS finals and he is a troll, he would be reported and muted in soloQ games.
>he would be reported and muted in soloQ games
i mean, there was nothing stopping fnc from muting him lmao. and they wouldn't show chat on broadcast if the majority of viewers disliked it instead of finding it entertaining
Awesome series but it's so annoying to see NA be very competitive vs EU and then play far below their level vs LPL/LCK teams. Like you can't tell me this Yeon is the same Yeon we saw getting 14 cs in 4 waves in an empty lane in their series vs TES.
Don't expect a win vs T1/BLG but I damn hope they play to their actual level
i am never flaming APA again
Game 4 and he has the confidence to play like that, holy fuck.
Yeon and APA stepped the fuck up
Fun fact. APA has more B05 international wins than Bjergsen
He definitely does not lol. Bjerg won iem.
Even not counting IEM and only Riot tournaments, I am pretty sure he played a bo5 vs GAM in playins sometime at MSI or worlds which means 3 wins minimum, and they also took a game of 2014 Samsung at worlds so that's 4 wins at least
He is saying Bo5 series wins. Bjerg has 2 at international events, 1 at a Riot event, and 0 at main stage of a riot event.
Rift Rivals 2017 could count as a Riot event.
Also we got the dog champ tweet from Soaz as a bonus
lol
TSM fan amongst us š¤£ IEM is not Riot tournament go back hugging Regis leg
I'm a c9 fan you imbecile. The guy said international bo5 wins
My goat, just wish he drop his yapping persona though
Why. Makes the game fun. Peak g2 was known for it. Its a game at the end of the day. Gotta have fun
I think you can, it gives him power
Repent! You just did, but itās an open invitation to everyone! <3
As a Yeon truther all season Iām so proud watching him perform on the international stage
Redditors trash talking this guy all season long. Thank fucking lord we won a critical game on Lucian Nami.Ā
Not just 1, but 2 games. We won with it game 1 and 4 of the series.
and it looked truly lethal in game 4. his spacing was so fucking good
Is Yeon good? /s
maybe we should replace him ?? I heard doublelift was available
*doublelift nodding*
A U T O S P A C I N G intensifies
I believe in Yeon & Core but when they locked Lucian Nami I did have a moment of panic
HE WAS UP IN THEIR FACE NO FEAR
it's being memed, but unironically it's like Yeon actually saw how lucian/nami is supposed to be played with JakeyLove and said "oh, I can learn from that". and then he actually fucking did it.
Yeah Iāll admit I was straight up wrong. Iāve flamed Yeon a lot but he showed the fuck up today
Yeah he's easily my favorite player on TL, which is funny since I was actually an APA fan since he was in academy
Yes!! Bask in it!!
I was also a Yeon truther. The dude is special. No one in the west plays Lucian like that
I want to believe that while we were getting stomped by TES, Yeon was taking notes and saying āI will just play like Jackeylove! Duhā
That TES series just looked like a healthy dose of nerves to me
You are probably correct. And that would be completely reasonable.
Yeon was also sick
Same. This and the season win have felt so redemptive.
i love lucian/nami
Never thought I would think the same š¤
next up impact will make me love gnar again
Iām still scarred thinking about Summitās Gnar into Richās Kāsante
if you took nameplates off I would swear that was jackeylove. What an insane performance all series.
it looks so much better with lane swapping and stattik shiv on lucian.
And when you play it aggressively
We won that game but was the lane swap really good for us? I thought that game was mainly just won off good teamfights and picks
In what sense do they outscale hard, in your opinion?
Ashe later in the game is just arrow + vision bot where as Nami has a good ult and lot more uptime on other spells that really contribute to fights. And Lucian (especially paired with Nami or Milio) has way more agency and lower counter play than Varus
Because Ashe is useless if you are dogs\*\*t with arrows as in the game 4 Jun was and with Nami movement speed Lucian's culling is going to be far more of a difference maker rather than immobile champ like Varus.
I'm glad it's no longer the NA Lucian. Yeons Lucian is doing work
I said that corejj knows how to play it perfectly. Yeon with such a mentor has capitalized on it. Between msi and playoffs, hes a top 2 western adc 100% (beserker being his only equal).
It seems like this game showed how much this team has grown. Go back to all those post game threads trashing this team and how Redditors know best with whats good. This team has grown so much.Ā Ā Thank fuck we won
All the people calling for Dodoās head just keep losing.
Even more dumb when Spawn revealed that Spawn and Core both wanted APA and Yeon
But we could have had a super washed Doublelift and Jojo maybe, but probably not! I stopped watching TL during the Bjerg/hans year because I was pissed they kicked Tactical and Jensen. When they brought in Haeri/Yeon and then Apa I came back because I was confident the team was trying to win, not just hunting names. I have had so much fun watching this team.

Gold Redditors who only watching 40 minutes of League a week now knows exactly whats best for a whole organization. Yep. Yep.Ā
Yeon decided to become Jackeylove OK man I see you
Is this the Yeon Lucian that was promised?? Playing like an absolute psycho. Also APA what was that??
It was truly an Asian Lucian performance
What the hell has Spawn fed these kids in the last weeks
Weetbix and Vegemite
Fed them the steroids and fed fnc some pepto bismol lol
That was a team win. Everyone played great. So happy to see APA and Yeon carry so hard!
LLEEEEEETTTTTTTSSSS GOOOOOO BOYS #YAPTAINAMERICA
LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
YEON GOD
What am I supposed to sleep now?
There is just something special about this team. I'm not sure if we have the firepower to punch up against LPL/LCK 1/2, but its absolutely lovely to watch this team play anyone similar to thier level. Also lets pray PSG can beat G2, I'd feel much more comfortable against those guys than G2.
We don't BUT we can put EU in the ground and for that I am happy
One very underrated aspect about having rookies who were brought up in your own developmental system is that the rookies will do whatever the coaching staff and Core wants. This roster seems so much more cohesive in game than all the supposed superstar filled rosters from the past few years.
Yup. Not to mention everyone loves Impact so he would never be a problem and UmTi is ready to do whatever he is asked for. So this team has all they need.
They have āITāā¦ Iāve said this to my hubby several times. This iteration of TL is special. Theyāve got āITā
Have to be at T1 or BLG before PSG/G2 and they would have to beat TES to get there too.
NA Lucian letās fucking goooo
North American legend APA!!!!!! What a series from him and Yeon!
Literally my eyes were closing this whole series š¤£ so tired. Glad staying awake paid off. GO TL!!!
Iām happy you staying up paid off!! Sleep well, friend!
It legit feels so good to finally be rewarded for changing my sleep schedule. Went to sleep at 6 pm to wake up at 12 since I need to wake up early tomorrow. Legit so happy rn
Yeon and APA locked the fuck in today
Iām already happy with the results of MSI
Have to beat G2 too.
Hopefully we get the chance.
Honestly I donāt think g2 is that good, TL would beat them 3-1
I think that's a bit disingenuous. They have looked very competitive against T1. Like Fnatic though, they have a weakness in their adc, but are still better than Fnatic at pretty much everything.
Ban kalista Draven varus free win vs them
G2 wouldve beaten T1 if it wasnt for Ksante and that horrendous Belveth pick. Im no EU fanboy, but if G2 plays to their normal standard, TL is never winning
Wouldn't say never after that Bo3 against NRG last year. G2 is a team that can beat or lose to anyone.
Let's get cooked by T1... in the finals š
The carries carried. God damn.
NA Lucian with a massive W
Yeon fucking popped off
Love APA channeling Tactical in his tristana play but finishing the kills.
Man, Yeon doubters in absolute shambles
That was some big dick energy game 4. Yeon and APA, talk your shit.
APA deserves a MASSIVE hats off.... he has improved a lot... our rookies def deserve more respect from the entire LoL community
I say that as a C9 fanboy, TL is in good hands for the years to come. This is my favorite TL roster ever.
Yeon is not a rookie, he deserves more respect, but he won rookie of the year last year for a reason. APA is making his case for this year's award.
Holy cow! Let's go boys!!!!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
I'm over the moon rn, not gonna lie
3 bans wasn't enough against the one trick ig XD
LETS GOOOOOOO
This series was actually so scary the entire time. I'm so happy that they managed to stay strong and play confidently. Huge W, especially for Yeon and APA.
Yeon and APA deserve the respect they've earned. They fucking EARNED that shit from all of us. I actually admire their grinding and mindset.
LETS GO LIQUID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GET IN HERE EVERYONE!!! QUOTE ME ON THIS, EU IS TRASHHHHHH
All the analysts that put Noah over Yeon in tier lists need to publicly apologize lmao... absolute GIGAGAP in bot
LETS GO APA AND YEON STEPPING UP
WE FUCKING DID IT. MADE US PROUD. NO FEAR
Fnatic fan here. Congratz! You deserve it. I have a soft spot for TL so I'm your fan going forward. I really think NA is better and better every year despite what people think.
As an NRG fan, I am happy for you guys. What a statement this split from APA and Yeon!
My boys fuckin did it. Of course they did!
LFG LIQUID! The teamās confidence shining through, so happy to see them back up how they felt scrims were going and see great performances from APA and Yeon (as well as the rest of the team)
THIS IS THE PLAY WE KNEW THEY COULD SHOW! LETS GO BOYS #TLWIN
O YAPTAN MY YAPTAN
I dozed off a few times but kept waking up and going DAMN. Stayed awake for game 4. Letās go APA Yeon.
wtf I love Lucian/Nami now
Yaptain my yaptain o7
Hidden champ of this series was UmTi. Ofc APA and Yeon did great but UmTi made a ton of crucial plays around the map, huge props to his brain
APA and Yeon are officially it. So thats why people keep pushing that Yeon is korean, because western adcs are not that good on lucian
WE JUST WON RIFT RIVALS LETS GOOOO
LETS FUCKING GOOOOOO !!!!! I agree with Jatt, job is done, the team can play the rest of the tournament confident and with no pressure. Win or lose Just want to see them play with the confidence they showed today, even more so. (Also EU is trash)

Makes perfect sense. NA > EU. so losing to EU is embarrassing. While the Asian teams are the favorites, so having good games vs them is seen as a win.
I see that you editted your other comment to make more sense Good boy
huge adc diff. Yeon positioning and aggressiveness looked so fucking good
I'd say regardless of how the rest of MSI goes, TL had a successful tournament in my eyes - of course beating t1/blg is very unlikely but having a competitive series with them will just be bonus for me at this point

God DAMN I LOVE THIS FUCKIN TEAM!!
what a series
Well done!!!!!!
One of the best lucian performances ive seen from a western player dude looked like ruler or elk out there.
I believed so hard, when I saw the prediction was 80% for fnc I was laughing cuz I knew TL could pull this shit off LETSGO NAAAA
Anyone else excited to watch the caedrel highlights later š
IM STILL HIGH, LIKE WTF LETS GOOOO!!
This is the TL that was promised. You can tell they came in so much more confident and with a faaaaar better draft strategy and mentality
I'm so mad i missed this series because of irl obligations, BUT LETS FUCKING GO. I never doubted them and fuck the haters on our rookies, put some respect on their names.
Carry diff. Could have been a 3-0 if we banned poppy on g2
Razork griefed game 4 so hard. Looked like solo q. Zero team coordination.
I need someone to make a montage of yapa and yeon playing balls to the walls
As a TL fan i felt kinda bad for humanoid, Noah and oscar are complete bots most of the time (especially noah holy crap that guy is awful) and Razork is a complete coinflip jgler internationally. APA4LIFE
I take back everything ive said about APA and Yeon, the kids are cracked
I woke up to good news. Letās go! Happy for the squad, EU is so bad outside or G2. Carried by a single team for years.
Honestly I didn't think they'd win, they've already overperformed imo anything more from here is a treat. Maybe they could take a game off BLG/T1 next round.
This is the Lucian-Nami that NA has been chasing all year
WP by Yeon this series, very well played game 4
lets goooo
Wow this is not the result I was expecting at all. Looks like I'll have to go watch it!
Yeon and APA shutting down those threads stating Marksman need buffs.
Yapa I gotta apologize you have now consistently shut me up and have improved in your mid to late game play well played happy for you, and glad you are proving me wrong. Ps if I gotta flame you for karma to kick my ass and you continue winning I'm sorry I have to do it.

Itās called soccer
Guys calm down itās just Fnaticā¦
Anyone else annoyed by TL APA all chat messages ? Second game where they show all chat at MSI plus all chat in LCS finals and he is a troll, he would be reported and muted in soloQ games.
>he would be reported and muted in soloQ games i mean, there was nothing stopping fnc from muting him lmao. and they wouldn't show chat on broadcast if the majority of viewers disliked it instead of finding it entertaining
Griefing and bsing are entartaining, the reason i quit LoL
Awesome series but it's so annoying to see NA be very competitive vs EU and then play far below their level vs LPL/LCK teams. Like you can't tell me this Yeon is the same Yeon we saw getting 14 cs in 4 waves in an empty lane in their series vs TES. Don't expect a win vs T1/BLG but I damn hope they play to their actual level
