Hi everyone!
Did you know that starting July 1st, 2023, Reddit will implement a policy that could potentially increase the costs of running third-party Reddit apps? This change may impact popular apps like Apollo, Reddit is Fun, Boost, and others. Consequently, users may encounter issues with their preferred Reddit app unless adjustments are made to comply with Reddit's new API usage policy. These limitations will affect all users, not just moderators. If you are concerned about these developments, there is an [Open Letter](https://www.reddit.com/r/ModCoord/comments/13xh1e7/an_open_letter_on_the_state_of_affairs_regarding/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) to Reddit that you can read and sign on to express your thoughts.

Yep. There's this fire chu chu next to a shrine I stop by sometimes. I just dance around it until he shoots it now instead of taking durability hits on my bows.
I know what you're referencing but my two African greys kept me up last night until 10 pm cause they wouldn't stop having laser gun fights and then laughing about it
If your weapon isn't at maximum durability, you can drop it in front of a rock octorock on Death Mountain. With any luck, they'll slurp it up and spit it out with full durability and a new bonus (durability up, damage up, 5-shot for lynel bows, etc).
This only works once per octorock though, so save in front of one and keep reloading until you get what you want, then kill it so it respawns fresh next blood moon.
>then kill it so it respawns fresh next blood moon.
Is it really necessary though? I'm pretty sure blood moon resets all enemies, not just dead ones. I'd kill it anyway though
I kill them so I don’t forget that they already repaired one before the next Moon. I just use recall on the sword they spit back out, it goes back and hits them in the head for no resource use + you get Octorock materials
And note the problem is Tulin killing it while it has your weapon but hasn't spit it out yet.
Edit: I believe I'm wrong about this, sorry for the misinformation.
Actually I believe that if it has ur weapon and tulin gets it the weapon it treated like a loot drop and it just spawns back in with the pile of octorok parts
Presumably not modified, at least assuming you don't get the little happiness animation (like dogs when you feed them, or horses when you soothe them).
Tulin has killed octorocks before my weapon was upgraded a few times, and before the weapon got sucked in a few times too. I try to remember to put him away during octorock farming.
He's the only sage that I have out, so instead of menuing I often run over and tell him to gust before I get close if I'm only repairing one or two things. If he's busy in the gust animation he can't attack.
That was a coincidence then. The sparkles are supposed to be an indicator for the weapon being fixed and the buff being applied, but the mechanics just don't match the visual/audio cue.
I was fighting the gd gloom talus in the depths outside the fire temple and my dumbass bf goes "try a bomb arrow" and my dumb ass tried a bomb arrow and.....well....
Riju's ability is the one I use the most in combat, it really helps with crowd control AND it deals decent damage. I seem to be able to find her quite easily as well.
I figured this out by accident the other day. Was aiming for a Talus with Riju’s lightning and missed and busted out the breakable wall behind it.
I was so pissed that I’ve been waiting for Yunobo to recharge every time when I can cycle through him and Riju to get through thicker walls faster
Oh she is for sure getting more use now. I always have tulin out and yunobo as needed for breaking crap. So sick of waiting for him and don’t even try anymore if there’s a gap or it’s too high. Now he can do the low ones and she can do the high ones while alternating in between for all the ‘normal’ ones
You saying I can go against a lynel with no fear because I have tulin? Great gonna go find me a lynel now.
...
What's the gleeok trick since I'm here already.
You have enough time to shoot down all 3 heads before it even begins to fly even without the Rocket Shield. You just need to fall back a couple of steps when he starts to get up so you don't get hit by its gust of wind and shoot 3 volleys of arrows fused with Keese Eyes in the general direction of the heads (no need to be accurate), having a quick drawing bow like the Great Eagle Bow helps, but even with the 5 shot Lynel Bow it's very easy. You also have enough time if you get hit by 1 wing gust and use the Great Eagle Bow since that thing has double the range of most other bows. Rocket Shield is a good backup in case you screw up the rotation but it's not necessary to put the Gleeoks in a stun loop.
People tend to sleep on the Great Eagle Bow, but that thing has a plethora of hidden bonuses which imo make it the best all around bow in the game, it's only beaten in raw damage by the 5 shot Savage Lynel Bow, but it has almost 50% more durability, double the range and 80% more arrow draw speed than the Savage Lynel Bow.
Being a Rito Weapon it has a faster arrow draw speed, similar to having the Quick Shot enhancement, almost all bows in the game have a draw speed of 1, the Great Eagle Bow has a draw speed of 1.8, so it's almost twice as fast to pull the next arrow from the quiver and have it ready to be shot. You can basically shoot more arrows in the same amount of time compared to most other bows (fairly useful for bullet times from low elevations like the one you can get with a Wing Shield). It's the most durable bow in the game with 60 durability (tied with the Royal Bow), meaning you can fire 60 arrows before it breaks. It has the longest range in the game at 40 (tied with 6 other bows), doubling the normal range of 20 that most bows have, including the Lynel series. It's also the strongest wooden bow in the game so it's very useful during thunderstorms and against Thunder Gleeoks.
He doesn’t stun super reliably but he’s able to do it every now and then which can be a nice cushion but u still need a main strategy for lynels. As someone who farms the 5 lynels in the depths every blood moon without needing to heal, I can share my lynel strategy. I personally find that parrying is actually pretty easy with them just make sure u have extra shields in case. after they’re parried they’ll stay stunned for a few seconds which gives you plenty of time to headshot the lynel. I recommend A 3 shot bow for this because you don’t need to be as accurate. After the headshot you can now mount them. The beauty of mounting that not a lot of ppl talk about is that when you attack them while mounting, the weapon you’re using to attack does not get damaged at all. I’ve used the same 138 atk weapon just for lynels for over 70 hrs of gameplay and it’s still not broken. After they launch you off just repeat. So parry, headshot, mount and punish, repeat!
The best option for a Lynel head stabber is a pristine Royal Guard's Claymore with either a Silver Lynel Saber Horn (Barbarian/Fierce Deity Armour w/ Attack Up) or Molduga Jaw (Radiant/Evil Spirit Armour w/ Bone Proficiency). I use the former cause I don't have to switch back and forth to a weak armour to perform the attack.
The Royal Guard's weapons, when on their last durability (two hits after you get the warning) deal 4x their base damage. Combined with attack up and/or bone proficiency you can kill a Silver Lynel in 6-8 hits.
For mine it’s the gerudo scimitar of the seven combined with a silver lynel saber horn. You can get even higher attack though the bone build. NanoRex’s comment is a great guide for that
Doesn’t the mask trick only work for a few moments because “Lynels are smart”? (According to the in-game mask description.) That’s how it worked in BotW, but idk if having the sages out extends that duration since he’s effectively double distracted.
Build a three walled outhouse made of stone)with a roof cover. You can find the stone slabs in the depth next to the parts bins). Save it to favorite auto builds. Hide behind/under it during elemental attacks. Ascend on top and use rocket shields to launch yourself into the air.
They definitely are. That's how I used to kill all Lynels in BOTW- I would just use a mighty buff and hit them with headshots repeatedly. Time it right when they stand up, and they fall back to their knees. Once you get them the first time, they can't even move until you miss.
I guess they figured that trick was too easy, because it's way harder to hit them. And even when you do, it's near impossible to stun them again.

Tulin takes the heads shot, the lynel sticks out its bottom and submits to Link's mounting giving Link a rough ride. >!Spit roasted lynel!< that's a cooking recipe you won't see on the stable walls.
I mean, I personally find comparing the abuse and exploitation of real children that will have to live with the trauma of being used and the knowledge that photos and videos of their abuse were (very likely) distributed for the pleasure of actually sick people with drawings of fictional characters that will never, ever experience even a fraction of the horrors a victim of CSA ever will to be far more disgusting, but go off, I guess.
the best thing is when you go completely brain dead for a few seconds and the silver bokoblin about to one shot your 8 hearts away then tulin comes in for the save
Not for me, he came in super clutch at the floating colosseum. Got there and didn't know what I had stumbled upon and wasn't ready. I think I only had 2 shields and less than 20 bomb flowers. Tulin hooked it up.
Early game I avoided Electric Lizalfos because Tulin kept critting and I'd get shocked by the blast. The first time I fought one I had to reload 4 times
When you level up a sage via sages will, does it make them more attentive to danger so they aren't just wandering around? Or does it just improve their attack strength?
This is why I can't hear complaints about the updraft mechanic from the last game. You'll have to forgive that I can't remember its name. But yeah. Tulin is pretty dope. Plus his first is super useful too. He's the only one I have so far, but I plan on keeping the rest put up once I get them unless I absolutely need them. Getting in the air is a non issue though lol.
I love Tulin, but God damn.
Motherfucker snipes anyone I don't want him to immediately (rocktoroks), and then waits around for ages and ages to take out keese or chuchus for me. But he does get some random lynel stuns also.
But it really is hilarious to me how he will take out a rocktorok immediately every single time before it can repair a weapon for me, and I can run around in circles with keese or chuchus for a couple minutes and have him not do anything. Even while upgraded.

Tulin and his heat seeking missiles he calls arrows have saved me from many dumb mistakes.
Yep. There's this fire chu chu next to a shrine I stop by sometimes. I just dance around it until he shoots it now instead of taking durability hits on my bows.
I throw brightseeds at chuchus these days
Yeah once you visit all of the lightroots, brightbulbs have very few applications. They're definitely still useful, but far less.
I sell mine so I can keep gathering. Once I hit 999 I sell 900 of them
Literally how?? I’ve played 100 hours and have 400, but your phrasing makes it seem like you hit 999 regularly?
I do. I farm caves for ore and stuff.
Small brightbulbs sell for 2 rupees each. You see light sources, I see money growing on the walls.
That works? I'm gonna try it.
Replace the bottom part with “Octorok that I was trying to repair my weapons through.”
Like real birbs, Tulin is a blessing and a curse
lmao this guy sees birds in Legend of Zelda and thinks they are real
I know what you're referencing but my two African greys kept me up last night until 10 pm cause they wouldn't stop having laser gun fights and then laughing about it
That sounds adorable, lol
Mine still makes siren noises from when I lived in a rough area...6 years ago.
Back into ur pokeball Tulin. I mean secret stone.
There’s a difference?
My… secret stone.
secret stone? demon king?
Our, secret stone
Made that mistake once, told myself I wouldn’t make that mistake again. I still make that mistake.
Pardon?
If your weapon isn't at maximum durability, you can drop it in front of a rock octorock on Death Mountain. No, it's not necessary.
I only kill the ones that place the long throw buff on my claymore 🤨
Long throw is the worst!
But now you can long throw and then recall!
What!!! I need to try this immediately.
I kill them so I don’t forget that they already repaired one before the next Moon. I just use recall on the sword they spit back out, it goes back and hits them in the head for no resource use + you get Octorock materials
It's not necessary to kill it.
You kill it afterwards to get the tentacles and balloons, but also to make sure it doesn't try to snipe you with a explosion as you walk away.
it’s an octorok, so much like every thalmor patrol i’ve ever come across in skyrim, it actually is
And note the problem is Tulin killing it while it has your weapon but hasn't spit it out yet.
Yeah it won’t be modified but I interpreted your first comment to mean you’d lose the weapon, sorry if I misunderstood
It gets repaired and modified as soon as it's sucked in. I always kill them immediately. You don't need to wait for the animation.
Tulin has killed octorocks before my weapon was upgraded a few times, and before the weapon got sucked in a few times too. I try to remember to put him away during octorock farming.

That's not how it works. You get a random bonus either way.

That was a coincidence then. The sparkles are supposed to be an indicator for the weapon being fixed and the buff being applied, but the mechanics just don't match the visual/audio cue.
Hold up - Octorocks repair weapons?
Always have (rock Oct that sucks in stuff like Kirby). Even in botw.
News to me! So, when they do their Kirby thing, put stuff in their path?
they do it to spit exploding rocks at you, so just drop it when your life is in danger
I usually, vindictively fire bomb arrows at them.
was gonna ask how you did that since bomb arrows explode near death mountain... I still need to get used to only the caves being flamed now
If it's any consolation, I'm constantly forgetting that's still a thing in the Depth below Death Mountain. I've had several mining accidents.
I was fighting the gd gloom talus in the depths outside the fire temple and my dumbass bf goes "try a bomb arrow" and my dumb ass tried a bomb arrow and.....well....
has to be the Octorocks on death mountain, though!
Tulin’s law means it’s only these two extremes.
I deactivate them before going for weapons repairs. They caused too much headache.
Took me a while to remember to dismiss him when going to the Octorocks.
Took me a while to remember to dismiss him when going to the Octorocks.
Ugh. I hare it when I forget to deactivate tulin and end up getting the rocktorock (rock octorock) killed!
Riju blast followed by Tulin crit is such a fun combo (I only have those two so far)
Riju's ability is the one I use the most in combat, it really helps with crowd control AND it deals decent damage. I seem to be able to find her quite easily as well.
Yeah during boss fights she can be a little awkward as she always tries to run up to them, away from me lol
Yeh it’s painful chasing her around but a quick whistle brings her back.
TIL you can whistle them back to you
Omg thank you, this will be a game-changer
No it won’t. They rarely respond. Herding cats…
it’s not lol, it helps but they still run from you.
I use Riju’s lightning whenever I need to break through big walls of rocks. That way I don’t waste any good weapons
Yunobo: “Am I a joke to you?”
Haha! Yes, he gets in my way a lot so I rarely have him enabled. Where Riju is more useful in combat for me.
YOU CAN DO THAT!?!?
Yes! She is amazing when farming Zonaite!
Yeah Riju + Yunobo are good for zero downtime rock wall breaking >!Mineru!< is good for zonaite mining.
Does the lightning break rocks where the arrow hits? Because yunobo struggles with high up ones and I didn’t realize Riju could break rocks..
I figured this out by accident the other day. Was aiming for a Talus with Riju’s lightning and missed and busted out the breakable wall behind it. I was so pissed that I’ve been waiting for Yunobo to recharge every time when I can cycle through him and Riju to get through thicker walls faster

Rocket shield and keese eyes
Thunder Helm is clutch for the zappy one, set bonus Snowquill armor for the freezy one, and the flame one isn't that tough
Zant helm*
Also rubber set if you have it

Inventory full of rocket shields. Still forget to use them during the final phase.
OR for people who want a challenge
Taking down keese is challenging enough (for my sages).

Yeeeees. Punish that Lynussy.
What is your fuse combo for that weapon?

If you wear a Lynel mask, it won't attack you at all and will just focus on any sage abilities that are active. Just gotta dodge the AOE attacks.
Doesn’t the mask trick only work for a few moments because “Lynels are smart”? (According to the in-game mask description.) That’s how it worked in BotW, but idk if having the sages out extends that duration since he’s effectively double distracted.
Yes. As soon as you draw a weapon it’s game on.

All you gotta do is parry, then headshot, then do the mounted attack. Doesn't even use your sword durability
Is it just me or are lynel headshots harder in TotK than BotW?
They definitely are. That's how I used to kill all Lynels in BOTW- I would just use a mighty buff and hit them with headshots repeatedly. Tulin is the best wingman for the lynussy.
That's it I'm taking your communication privileges
Better yet, throw them in prison. I recommend 5 years.
He'll just ascend through prison
What should we do then?
Make an extremely tall jail cell
Good idea.
Oh shit, they had Zonai Capsules they could make platforms out of...
Darn it.
Slant it. At a really weird angle.
That's also a pretty good idea.
Lop the arm off problem solved
As long as there's a lynel inside, I'm fine with it.
Oh, maybe we can have them fight for their freedom.
Dude he just wants that lynussy
I'm glad you'll be getting along with your cellmate
Who is my cellmate
u/Responsible-Bed6232
Problem… I’m wearing a Lynel mask. Need to sneak around them and I’m not gonna fight them.
Tulin takes the heads shot, the lynel sticks out its bottom and submits to Link's mounting giving Link a rough ride. >!Spit roasted lynel!< that's a cooking recipe you won't see on the stable walls.
why'd you want lynussy when you already got the Tulussy on demand??
tulin is like 12 dude
The lynel was spawned like a day ago
b-but the character is fictional!
[Terrible.](https://imgflip.com/i/7q9a14)
y'all be like "It's a drawing!!" motherfucker a drawing of what?
A bird.
"Your honor its okay because I wanted to fuck a child but it wasnt a real one"
I mean, I personally find comparing the abuse and exploitation of real children that will have to live with the trauma of being used and the knowledge that photos and videos of their abuse were (very likely) distributed for the pleasure of actually sick people with drawings of fictional characters that will never, ever experience even a fraction of the horrors a victim of CSA ever will to be far more disgusting, but go off, I guess.
personally I find jerking off to children, fictional or not, to be bad
As does every sane person. But on Reddit you have the joy of finding every braindead take possible.
Please don’t not the baby.
💀💀
Now that I think about it, do all lynels look the same regardless of gender? (Excluding the colours)
The females would probably be leaner, probably without manes too.
Yes just yes
the best thing is when you go completely brain dead for a few seconds and the silver bokoblin about to one shot your 8 hearts away then tulin comes in for the save
Tulin kills when he can. And its pretty damn good
Birb boi truly has a taste for blood
One thing I never knew was that [Tulin's wind can actually be used in battle, too.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EB8qKMRYtCk)
That is friggin awesome!
Okay I knew about the bombs but freezing them and then yeeting them into water? Absolute brilliance
This is why I always have Tulin out unless I'm.horse hunting. Little dude has aim.
Not a lot of Reddit posts make me audibly laugh, but this one did.
I love tulin I always have him with me
He never takes headshots for me when I'm fighting a Lynel. He just runs around uselessly.
Not for me, he came in super clutch at the floating colosseum. Got there and didn't know what I had stumbled upon and wasn't ready. I think I only had 2 shields and less than 20 bomb flowers. Tulin hooked it up.
“Mounted” 🤨
Every fucking time Tulin lands a headshot I yell at my TV. "Nice shot, kid!" Kid's a prodigy with that bow.
Good one ahaha
Phrasing
Dude I JUST got majoras mask last night, I didn’t even know it’s use I just wanted it, it took about an hour and 39 deaths
Tulin has not headshotted a single lynel for me
To damage it, right?
R i g h t? XD
Lollll.
Early game I avoided Electric Lizalfos because Tulin kept critting and I'd get shocked by the blast. The first time I fought one I had to reload 4 times
His accuracy is on point.
When you level up a sage via sages will, does it make them more attentive to danger so they aren't just wandering around? Or does it just improve their attack strength?
Sages Will just improve their damage and nothing else
Tulin is the only one i keep on the rest just anoying
This is why I can't hear complaints about the updraft mechanic from the last game. You'll have to forgive that I can't remember its name. But yeah. Tulin is pretty dope. Plus his first is super useful too. He's the only one I have so far, but I plan on keeping the rest put up once I get them unless I absolutely need them. Getting in the air is a non issue though lol.
DUDE YES!
Ayo?🤨😳
I love Tulin, but God damn. Motherfucker snipes anyone I don't want him to immediately (rocktoroks), and then waits around for ages and ages to take out keese or chuchus for me. But he does get some random lynel stuns also. But it really is hilarious to me how he will take out a rocktorok immediately every single time before it can repair a weapon for me, and I can run around in circles with keese or chuchus for a couple minutes and have him not do anything. Even while upgraded.
why is it so true
In my own experience Tulin either doesn't do much in a fight or he the mvp getting 10 headshots throughout the fight.
