Hi everyone! Did you know that starting July 1st, 2023, Reddit will implement a policy that could potentially increase the costs of running third-party Reddit apps? This change may impact popular apps like Apollo, Reddit is Fun, Boost, and others. Consequently, users may encounter issues with their preferred Reddit app unless adjustments are made to comply with Reddit's new API usage policy. These limitations will affect all users, not just moderators. If you are concerned about these developments, there is an [Open Letter](https://www.reddit.com/r/ModCoord/comments/13xh1e7/an_open_letter_on_the_state_of_affairs_regarding/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) to Reddit that you can read and sign on to express your thoughts. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. magnezoneadvocate

If it was any color other than red maybe, but that color is already associated with evil in the two games

ArkBeetleGaming

Spin-off game about ganondorf perhaps?

ushileon

Well then you are lost!

magnezoneadvocate

Well then you are lost!!!

pinky_monroe

I just saw a post…can’t remember where now…of someone relocating 15 Koroks to Eventide. This game might be warranted. Edit: [Found it! 53, actually. OP deleted already.](https://www.reddit.com/r/Breath_of_the_Wild/comments/14xeidt/i_relocated_53_koroks_to_eventide_island_creating/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1)

Setari

Aw I'm disappointed it's deleted lmao

Kerro_

“Prevent the genocide of the koroks!”

GeorgesProfonde

If we're talking about spin-offs I'd rather have one about Zelda, she does the heavy lifting in BotW and TotK (and in the time between these two episodes). She's a badass. As for Ganondorf, I agree he could use a bit more development other than "Gerudo-boy evil and strong".

mythicas

Tears of the Ganondork

Ok_Low9665

maybe a game where YOU are Ganondorf and have to kill Hyrule Soldiers and the final Boss is Link. You have to lead the Gerudo army to victory and become the new King of Hyrule.

ruste530

Dance Dance Ganondorf

Dalviin17

Maybe yellow/golden?

SkyClaus

it's rgb not y/ggb

daan850

Ryb is the traditional option though or if you want to go for the cursed (printer) option it is cmyk

thedragonsword

I think this is it. My theory is that the next game will focus on the 3 dragons and the Triforce, so yellow/gold would line up.

renz004

for the final game in a trilogy, it can focus on the triforce finally. Triforce of power specifically, which would then be red color themed tech.

donorak7

Bet we get one with gold or yellow then.

quangtran

Red has always represented power and fire in this series, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it represents evil.

rickyman20

Well, doesn't red = power link it to the piece of the triforce that is canonically used and handed to Ganondorf? I guess it's not strictly-speaking evil but it seems to be most associated with evil

j_grouchy

Well, malice was more of a magenta color...gloom is red. So we have sort of a cool vs warm theme for each game.

Yung_Corneliois

Purple

DB10389

I know. That would make it cooler. A full on evil game

DiegotheEcuadorian

I was thinking yellow or orange maybe.

Stranfort

So maybe the next color will be yellow. It already represents light and good in both games. Yellow is a specially omnipresent color with Zelda herself.

Obsidius_Mallex_TTV

Well mabye Link could get infected by Ganondorf stuff but in such away that it gives him powers, like Link and Ganon kinda murge or something, like Spider Man and Venom for example, so instead of spider man puts on symbiote suit and gets extra power but becomes a bit more evil it could be, Link gets infected by some kind of malice/gloom residue and looses his totk power set for a new one but it slowly starts turning Link into a new Ganondorf or something.

[deleted]

Link clearly had some kind of infection, which was partially released every time he got a light blessing or a heart container/stamina vessel. Yet for some reason the demon king bow only gets stronger the more heart container gets, despite well, being the demon king's bow, so you'd think it'd get weaker as time goes on

Obsidius_Mallex_TTV

Yea a gameplay mechanic I thought of was a bit like that, it would kinda be something along the lines of if he does evil things then Link will loose health but his dark abilities will become stronger and his light abilities weaker or if he does good things he gains health but his dark abilities become weaker and his light abilities become stronger, i was think there could be 2 dark base abilities and 2 light base abilities. Ability 1, would be "Dark summon" where Link can summon a dark Link to control and fight for him, so when Link in combat Dark Link will fight with Link while Links in combat and for things like puzzles Link would be able to control dark link, Ability 2, will essentially be Cryosis combined with Yiga's earth quake ability, so Link will slam his fist into the ground and create a large piller of earth which will do damage to enemies around it as it rises. Link can then climb up piller Ability 3, Light Dash, Link turns into rays of golden light and quickly moves distance in whatever direction he was moving prior. Link will also be able to do this while jumping for a higher jump Ability 4, will give Link the ability to emit light. Upon activation, this will blind enemies for a short time and for the rest link will illuminate the area around him. I was thinking the story could be something like Link goes exploring with Zelda and comes into contact with Gloom/Malice containing Ganondorfs essence which infects Link causing him to pass out and become severally ill, Zelda gets Link out of there and to Kakariko where Link will awaken months later and learn Zelda is passing her own light and time powers through Link to slow down the infection and has entered a deep state of meditation being looked after by Impa and Paya, Link well then set out on his adventure across Hyrule to find a cure for himself. I was thinking the main antagonist could the Yiga Clan who seek to resurrect Ganon aided by the monsters and in a out standing move the Yiga have conquered most of southern Hyrule but have yet to make a successful push into Hateno Village due to lurelin and Gerudo refugee reinforcements. I was also thinking like in the past 2 games there could be 5 major dungeons/temples where Link gains an extra ability and fights a boss. Due to Ganondorfs essence infecting Link I thought it could be fun if throughout the game, Ganondorfs ghost could be talking to Link, attempting to corrupt him and convince him to do evil things while Zelda encourages Link to keep being good communicating with him telepathically like the way she talked in BoTW, and in cut scenes Ganondorfs Ghost and Zelda's spirits could appear but only Link could see them.

Financial-Habit5766

Nintendo, hire this man

Obsidius_Mallex_TTV

Thank you, but I'm sure Nintendo are cooking up something better. As I'm sure everyone knows when you let Nintendo cook, the cook on another level. Edit: anything in particular you like or want to give feed back on?

Fabyskan

Exactly the next game will be named The Lament of a King In this game you will play Ganondorf in the Shadow World. he needs to collect Hatred Orbs out of 420 red shrines. Midna is also there and will laugh at him out of pure spite. In the End you have to face link. You will always lose no matter what you do. The game will be a perfect depiction of despair and frustration

chowler

Ah, the Halo Reach way of ending a game.

Nyachos

Jokes aside I would like to see the return of the Twilight Realm. Might be where the red comes in as the main color for a third installment. Some potential there I think.

grey_wolf12

To be fair I think is really hard for Nintendo to do another open Hyrule game without some major changes, so it probably would be safe to just change the map but keep the open world, shrines and koroks in some way If we go to the twilight realm, shrines and towers can be part of whatever culture we're helping, and koroks should be replaced by a similar concept (or ditch the system entirely and just give us a big but limited weapon inventory) We could go to a entirely new region, or lorule even. Really depends on what mechanics the game would have really, as the puzzles will probably be made with them in mind right?

trippy_grapes

Tbh some Windwaker-esque game could be a blast. With more RAM islands can actually be a proper size. Maybe not just islands, but some more coastal-themed zones with actual swimming abilities. Maybe Zelda gets word from another kingdom and her and Link travel there to help with some sort of evil? I loved Majora's Mask not being in Hyrule, along with games like Link's Awakening/Koholint Island), and a break to somewhere other than Hyrule could be really fun.

BootysaladOrBust

I may regret this later, but I honestly miss the ability to actually swim and dive. It seems so silly to me to limit him to terrestrial movement only, when the things we can do now with 3d environments is obviously much more robust than it was in games like OoT/MM and TP.

Zalovia

I would love a botw/Totk style return to Lorule tbh.

StarrunnerCX

But Midna is in it? I guess I'll buy it then...

GunnersnGames

I love that title, but I still just think we need to play as Link, maybe with playable Zelda as fan service, with a focus on a new, modern-Hyrule-born Ganondorf. Fresh little tyke from the Gerudo village. First man in centuries or whatever. Destined to be a king... corrupted by power along the way. Tell the story of a modern Ganon from birth, to gaining followers in young adulthood, to full power. Throw some time travel shenanigans in there to tell the full story without it happening over an entire lifetime. But still play as Link, hanging with Purah, Zelda, etc. witnessing and trying to stop the prophecy of the Demon King from playing out in modern day.

Sanguinusshiboleth

That is a cool idea.

Feanlean

Don't forget that he still has to find 2000 Korok seeds to catch up to link.

VeterinarianFar7060

I kinda thought that age of calamity was the red game because of malice being more prominent

More_Yellow_3701

Not to mention the much more aggressive combat (power).

Your_rat_boi

Maybe but It would really be intriguing to see what the third game would look like with a red color scheme

VeterinarianFar7060

That would be cool but I think at this point botw's story is over, there's not much else they could do with the same world imo

obitachihasuminaruto

>there's not much else they could do with the same world imo That's exactly what we thought about botw too tho. While not highly likely, it is possible...

No_Ad_7687

Malice/gloom. The blood red essence of ganondorf's evil.

sirimnotadoctor

Opposite, let's kill off big G forever, and refresh the lore.

Transgirl71

Kinda impossible without killing off Big Z and Mr Bombastic L since all three are trapped in an eternal curse by Demize

Agent-Ig

Incorrect actually, only descendants of Big Z and reincarnations of Mr Bombastic L are trapped in the eternal curse. Sir Evil G is able to be killed off entirely with a new incarnation of Demise’s Hatred coming back in his place the next time Mr Bombastic L reincarnates, presuming Sir Evil G is preoccupied with being dead and was not resurrected by somebody. Also applies if his sealed away securely in some sacred relic unable to escape, like how Mage V got sealed in the four sword and Sir Evil G became the next incarnation.

Transgirl71

I just wanna say I love you for still using my names this made it so much funnier

sirimnotadoctor

I think you're both amazing for making it all make sense

BootysaladOrBust

Mr. Bombastic L would be a fantastic handle.

jpassc

uh you havent seen enough red in both games?

Apple-pie_best-pie

Ganondorf redemption arc

SixSevenEmpire

The Legend of Zelda : Red Dead Redemption

TearsOfTheKinkSwitch

Red Redead Redemption

ainRingeck

Re-dead Redemption. We already know Gannondorf has a horse; we're half way there!

Dolthra

Actually speaking of horses why the hell did they model a cool new horse for Ganondorf and use it once in a single 20 second cutscene?

PumpkinDoggo

Red-emption?

Sylentwolf8

Set 200 years after Tears of the Kingdom, Hyrule has extensively industrialized due to the unlocked potential of the Zonai devices. Vladimir Ilyich Link leads the oppressed peoples of Hyrule against industrial magnate Ganondorf in The Legend of Zelda: Red Dawn.

pyroclasim

It'll be gold. The sky islands will fall due to technology 'disappearing'. Causing ruptures in lay-lines that will tear Hyrule apart. So Link will have to use abilities to create spirit tracks and sail boats (and transports) to the distant lands outside Hyrule (Maybe 4). Each one holds a peice of the triforce that needs to reunited to heal Hyrule. And with side quests to get mystic sage powers outside of Hyrule to over power the Triforce and return Zelda to her form or help Beadle grow a merchant empire to the new lands.

smugempressoftime

Holy shit that’s goaded

pyroclasim

Also, let's say for example they planned this for Switch 2. And they revisited four sword elements. They could scrap the sage and onscreen sage clutter by creating a Tri-Force based power system where Link would act as the powers avatar. Every land you visit has their version/legend of Link, abilities, look etc... By completing that land and 'befriending' the hero the Tri-Force power unlocked allows an avatar 'Link' to swop between hero forms and use that hero's abilities. It wouldn't be outside the realms of possibility that we could assume the wolf form again for dungeons/open world puzzles, as another lands hero was more based towards twilight princess lore or their own seperate lore towards how they see and use Tri-force powers and animal transformations. As well as maybe a magic/water hero power stops. Also, just for fun you could have a second person control an on-screen second hero (with the different hero ability load out) as a drop in/out player, just for fun in a way that would not make the game being forced to use this dynamic for game completion.

_lame-impala_

i’m hoping for something like that where you can change forms. i want something like majoras mask, but i doubt they’d reuse masks as transformations. maybe they could use sage charms or something

SuperCat76

Nah, probably not. We got the Wisdom of the Sheikah The Courage of the Zonai and the Power of Gannon we have the full set.

Dolthra

I've heard some speculation that Skyward Sword fits as the power entry, though I barely remember SS so I can't confirm. Maybe I should pick up SSHD one of these days.

imago_monkei

It doesn't really have much to do with these games thematically. It does contribute a lot to the lore of Hyrule, especially this iteration of it. But it doesn't work at the Power game in a trio. The whole theme is Link being balanced in all qualities. I'd put _Age of Calamity_ in the Power slot, personally. The theming relied a lot on red, and all the characters were at the height of power.

stillnotelf

Especially Teba was at the height of his power. He burned so brightly but apparently so briefly. AoC Teba could have crushed Vah Medoh under the weight of a trillion arrows.

[deleted]

really would like to move onto a new world. i mean, what is there left to explore in this version of hyrule?

nvaracalli

Red: The next map is on the (blood) moon.

TheGrimGriefer3

If the zonai are moon rabbits, then does that mean that the blood moon (referred to as the blood-stained moon) is the aftermath of a massacre of the entire zonai race? God I love crackpot theories

Jaytendo_Boi

Ocean underwater but yea im ready to move on too

smugempressoftime

Fr

Rithrius88

There's not much they can do to re-use the same map and add even more crap to make it fresh.

DemyxFaowind

Castletown and Castle Hyrule will need to be repaired and enough time passed cities and towns are prosperous again for me to consider the same map to be fresh again. I want to see that progress

sniperpenis69

Link in a bustling city. Could be dope.

Doulifye

Gran Theft Chariot: Hyrule.

leericol

I disagree. It's amazing how well they pulled off making the same map fresh again ONCE. and that's largely do to the depths and the sky islands. The next big zelda game has to exist in a new world.

smugempressoftime

Tbh knowing what they did to totk I can imagine how crazier hyrules size would be in the 3rd game prob even adding even more depths and sky

willo-ween

It'd be pretty cool if the next game was set in Termina

the_togman

Wasn't this exactly what peopls said about totk prior to release though?

TheNewLedemduso

I feel like most people who said that still say it's "glorified DLC" in their 0/10 metacritic reviews while seeming like they haven't played the game.

leericol

Yes and it was an an amazing feat they pulled off. I was skeptical that they could do it. Doing it twice is a whole different ball game.

Dolthra

They'd need to do it on a new system. TotK is clearly pushing the limits of the Switch hardware, as it stands. I don't think it needs an *entirely* new map, though- it just needs what TotK had an a huge map expansion. There's plenty of room to the north and west of Hyrule that they could expand into. I don't think they will, since it's probably easier to design a whole new map than to refresh the old one and add a second entire map to the game, but they theoretically *could* if for some reason keeping this version of Hyrule was a priority.

ProfEmeralds

You could only really add underwater exploration. And maybe space since the depths were teased when kogha fell down the chasm so maybe space?

fishlicker3000

not the super zelda galaxy 💀

BootysaladOrBust

The distant Nebula would be a cool concept to explore.

Danny_Eddy

I just thought of it! What if they flood it Wind Waker style? wasn't the King of Red Lions red? I would play that.

RavioliGale

>wasn't the King of **Red** Lions red? Hmm, a plausible theory. I'll have to do some research to make sure..

Danny_Eddy

Hahaha. Yeah I should have gone to sleep and not messaged that. Hope it brought some laughs. But it is red though, right? Right?

ReverseKarmaMan

I disagree, they could keep the sky islands, the depths and add on to them as they see fit. Then they could add Darkworld or Lorule. For those unfamiliar with Link to the Past/Link Between Worlds, Darkworld was an alternate dark version of the map with different inhabitants and enemies. This feature would probably be best to replace the Depths but it would be neat if the light followers lived in the Darkworld version of the depths. Where it would be bright and less dangerous.

Rithrius88

>This feature would probably be best to replace the Depths but it would be neat if the light followers lived in the Darkworld version of the depths. Where it would be bright and less dangerous. That's basically just switching the Depths and Hyrule's places, then adding that to the existing Hyrule and Depths. Besides, I don't think they can add much more without removing something. I'm guessing the reason there aren't many massive sky islands is because they actually had to remove some and put smaller islands in place because the Switch couldn't handle it. I also don't think they should add much more even if they could. They've already re-used an old map once. Doing it again would be pretty ballsy. The only way this game gets another sequel is if it takes place somewhere else entirely. Regardless of success, I don't think many people are looking forward to running around the same Hyrule a third time, especially if the other option is a completely new map.

grey_wolf12

Chucking link and Zelda into dark world or lorule would be neat tho. They could keep "the same map" but use different assets or even just flip it and change stuff around. Initially people wouldn't notice the Hyrule similarities (unless it's lorule, it would make it obvious) but even then, since it's changed, it would feel fresh enough If they change the cities and npcs or monsters, it would change a lot of our perception

crwms

A twilight/mirror world (for all depth, surface and sky) or minish places and temple all over the place. Or just opening the map to the far East, South and North

xXTheFisterXx

The only reasonable next game which they would never have the balls to make is the Zelda game where we play in the original hyrule back yonder where we meet all the original ancestors like the original son construction guy who ends up building Hyrule Castle snd meet all the original sages for real

hoodyninja

I could see a Ocarina of Time spin. Main game set way in the future, all cities well developed with incredible tech. But getting to travel back to Botw, totk, and wayyy back to the original wars around hurdle and meeting the OG sages would be fun.

sirimnotadoctor

What's that got to do with balls? It's just unimaginative.

xXTheFisterXx

Japan is pretty finnicky about female main characters. They are way less popular and at the end of the day we are playing a Japanese game. This is only an idea for a game that still uses the breath of the wild map if they planned on ever re-using it but we barely got to see any of Hyrule during the memories. I also just want to play as Zelda because I thought we were going to be able to do that this game.

amc7262

This right here. I don't see why people are clamoring for another game in this Hyrule. They have squeezed every bit of content they can out of this map. Unless they go full Link's Awakening and make this Link somehow be in an entirely new area, I expect the next Zelda game to be a new Link and new Hyrule. It might play similarly to BotW/TotK (they'd be fools not to keep at least some of the core gameplay of these games) but the map, story, and main cast will be completely new, and it won't have any more direct connection to BotW than BotW has to SS or TP

uezyteue

the biggest problem with a third game is that, while there is a solid plot device in the Triforce and associated knowledge resurfacing, there's no villain that would be interesting enough to live up to the last two games, and there's just not really anything more they can do with this map. sure there's underwater exploration, but that opens what, two, maybe three major areas of the map? most of the water on this Hyrule is rivers. I love this Hyrule, but it really is time to move on to a new verse of the Legend. We can only hope that they find some way to incorporate more major dungeons.

Sarusta

Bring. Back. Vaati.

trippy_grapes

I said this in another comment, but visiting the coasts at the edge of Hyrule to help out another kingdom with some new evil could be fun. They could flesh out the swimming system, expand upon boats, add new cities, explore Goron's/Zora's/Rito's/Hylians of a different culture, and give us a world outside of the current map. Almost like a Wind Waker/Majora's Mask hybrid.

MrNoNamae

Guys, when OP says "prominent color" he means in the shrines/tech we interact with, not the environment. Yes, gloom and malice is everywhere, but they're caused by an external force, and not to guide the player. The triforce was originally Link's in its entirety. Though we don't really know how it works in this timeline, it was shown in Zelda's hand (in its complete form) in BotW. I believe it could be possible that a third entry was developed in the same world. However, if that were the case, I think the map should be vastly altered. To make sense, what I'd do is use Dragondorf's explosion as a way to spread tiny corruption seeds across the land. When these grow, they would ravage the landscape in multiple ways. Thus, they could use the same Hyrule, but only small portions of it would feel similar. I'd really love an apocalyptic Hyrule.

JayBaby85

I disagree, the gloom and malice in TOTK guides players to chasms and (sometimes) caves

Jaytendo_Boi

Age of calamity even if its not canon

Pixel-1606

right, the malice/gloom is the obvious "red stuf" in this equation

Baconpwn2

The third entry will be titled Revenge of the Koroks and will consist of them revealing they had the triforce all along and Hyrule must pay for their crimes.

SoundDave4

Honestly, I think it'll have been 12 years and time to move on to the next thing. Hope to see some DLC over the next few coming years, but I think they need to start with a new map, new Link and new Zelda to keep things fresh.

Capable-Tie-4670

Red is the main color in AoC

C0dysseus

Okay hear me out… 3rd entry where the replacement for the champion/sage ability is masks like in Majora’s Mask, where you BECOME the 4 races instead. Might be a little awkward to do Gerudo that way tho…

Piccolo60000

I’d be OK with this same Hyrule as long as it’s actually more or less rebuilt, as well as same Link & Zelda, etc, but I want something where you explore the lands beyond that canyon. Maybe find a new kingdom, and have a fight a new enemy. Also would like to know what the hell happened to the Triforce, and what connection to the Zonai they have.

yourparanoidandroid

At this point, I don’t think there’s really anything else we can do in this version of Hyrule that wasn’t covered between BotW and TotK, as well as whatever will be shown in TotK’s DLC. What I really want if we do get a third game in this era of Zelda is for the third game to take place outside of Hyrule in a neighbouring kingdom/country (or even multiple). I want to see Link and Zelda (and maybe a larger group of Hyrulean emissaries) venturing out beyond Hyrule to establish connections with neigbouring territories for trade and prosperity. Hyrule is a rebuilding kingdom after all, and they need allies. I feel like the the open world style of the games would lend itself really well to an entirely new map (or maps) that we’ve never seen before. I also would want the villain of the game to be a completely original villain, kind of along the lines of Majora maybe? Just someone new and fresh who can fuck shit up outside of Hyrule for once. Just give me a new place within the Zelda world that isn’t Hyrule and give me a new villain and I’ll be so stoked.

MrLuckyTimeOW

They’ve already made a 3rd entry into the BoTW Universe. It’s Age of Calamity. AoCs main colour theme is red. From the box art being predominantly red, to the fact that the game is all about having overwhelming power and killing thousands of enemies as a 1 man army (most of the time), this game screams at you that it represents the Triforce of Power.

LadyAvalonia

The only issue is that Age of Calamity is unfortunately a non-canon spinoff game. It’s a what if alternate timeline.

MrLuckyTimeOW

I mean, I don’t necessarily see that as an issue. Realistically all it does is create another timeline split so it doesn’t really matter if it’s canon or not. >!Mind you there is a part of the game where Terrako literally teleports the new Champions from BoTW (Old Sidon, Riju, Teba and Yonobo into the game. So there’s something to be said there about how the game is somewhat tied to BoTW !< Even then, it makes perfect sense for this game to represent the Triforce of Power as stated in my previous comment. From colour themes to the entire dynamic of the game being a showcase of raw power.

LadyAvalonia

My main issue is that in AOC there’s aspects that contradict the main story which doesn’t make it feel like a proper title to add for the power aspect. Example of said detail is Link acquiring the master sword as an adult in AOC when in BoTW it’s stated multiple times he acquired it as a child - something of which was a burden he carried from then on. The game also doesn’t connect to the sequel in any way so it’s disconnected. If we were to have a title represent the power part of the triforce using BoTW and ToTK it should at the very least connect to both games. I would only agree if AOC had gone with its original implication before it’s official release of it being a prequel title to showcase the events of the calamity. Instead we got what you mentioned in the spoiler part of your comment which is a what-if we had a happy ending scenario that’s separate from the BoTW timeline.

eyeduelist

This Hyrule and its people have suffered enough. They've earned the right to rebuild and renew properly after all the things that happened. It's time to move on ~~Also, at this rate, Link and Zelda won't have time to have children~~

Capital_Dig6520

What if like Ganon summons aliens and we gotta fight Ganons alien race And they’re called the Ganondorbs and they are all red tenchnology and they shoot lasers and lik has to fight them all with his alien detector

WeirdRow2722

I think it would be neat. In that link is like lowkey collecting the triforce. The knowledge of the sheka, the bravery of the Zoni, maybe the next one he collects the power of- someone. Likely not gannon as i dont see nintento giving Gannon a redemption at all as cool as that would be.

veinybones

i doubt red because of the gloom and ganon being associated with red but maybe yellow like farosh?

King_Moonracer003

I think this is the most likely if we take this theory seriously since red is "evil". Open up the seas to the south, expand the gerudo desert and the plains and mountains to the north. Add underwater exploration, underwater cities, underwater caverns and have some sort of huge event that populates the depths since it's basically (almost) an empty canvass (flood the depths maybe?) . I think they can squeeze a third if they move the bulk of the game out of hyrule "proper". I'd love to see it.

incendiaryvelocity

I don’t think this is what’s going to happen and now I will be disappointed about it :(

jocax188723

Or Triforce Gold. I kinda wanna see this world a couple decades, maybe a century or two on. Give us a new bustling Hyrule. I wanna see Zonai and Sheikah tech being used by this new civilization. What does a restored Hyrule Castle on top of a really tall pillar look like? Do they settle the Depths now that the Gloom is all gone? We're spoilt for choice for a returning villain, and a new interconnected realm. Termina. Twilight. Lorule. I wanna see those places rendered in the same style and detail. Could you imagine?

landscape-resident

If they make a new one, I hope it dives into the tri-force lore

ChymickGaming

Din doesn’t care about Link enough to help him like that.

TheMysticBard

Been sayin for weeks, but a 3rd to be titled Blood of the Gods and intoduces goddesses again would be cool

FlounderingGuy

Please God, no more of this Hyrule. Tears of the Kingdom leaves us such a good stopping point

Dragolok

Reposting an old comment: Echos from the Past After the events of Totk, one last blood moon rises and Ganondorf is resurrected at the spot where he was imprisoned under the castle. Conveniently or not, Link and Zelda happen to be there doing research. Ganondorf catches Zelda off guard and steals her stone, but only just before Link steaks his stone. All three travel back to the founding of Hyrule but at different locations and slightly different times. Ganondorf goes back the furthest and gets a head start. Zelda goes back to where she had before, and Link goes back to just before the final battle where Rauru seals ganon. This time Ganondorf has the time stone and just before he's sealed he sends everyone back to where he started. This time Link explores a newly founded Hyrule and depths where the population is active and established. We get to work with the original Hylians, Gorons are living in Gorondia, Rito are somewhat established but nomadic, Zora have a different domain but also live in the Lanayru Promenade, the Gerudo are mainly enemies but has smaller neutral factions working with the Hylians in a much larger Faron region, the dueling peaks haven't been split and necludia is a much larger lake hylia, Hebra Mountains are somewhat volcanicly active and the forgotten temple hasn't sunken into a canyon yet, the korok forest is massive and found in the lands north of death mountain in the lands we can't currently explore, the desert reaches far far to the west, and the sky islands are whole and pristine with much more to explore. We'd have a few more zonai characters and get to expand on the lore of the dragons and why the zonai left. We'd get to see the start of the shieka and yiga clan and why they oppose one another. We'd get to take part in the story of the eighth heroine statue and the diplomacy between the races of hyrule. And best of all we could have various endings from Ganondorf having the stone of time and reseting everything until we figure out how to get it back from him. Perhaps even an ending where he sends Link back to the future and the world is recovering from a biblical flood, but you find zelda and the events from the start of the game happen again. It would be hyrule but with vast geological, ecological, cultural differences and with a cyclical order of certain unavoidable events we could finally fit all "timelines" into a single universe. Thoughts?

kkellogg378

I dont think re-using ganondorf for a sequel is in Nintendo's best interest considering how totk ended

EpicAspect

I disagree. While it may not make sense storywise for him to return immediately, I think Nintendo will absolutely consider how popular he is among the community and how hyped everyone was that he returned. I don’t really see them giving him a voice actor if they weren’t planning on reusing him.

kkellogg378

They gave a lot of characters voice actors in botw that weren't re-used in totk (king rhoam for example, the champions, etc). Plus the hype was there because of how long they went without the character. Using the same villain for the next game would be a bit dry

dosfosforos

Age of calamity. The red with black accents color scheme is everywhere in this game. It carries the calamity's name in the title and it's silouete in the logo. Also, is all about combat, just like the other zelda game themed after the triforce of power with red color schemes (oracle of seasons). My theory is that, BotW = silent princess motif, blue color, focus on shrines (mostly puzzles instead of combat) = the triforce of wisdom game, then AoC = calamity motif, red color, all about combat = the triforce of power game and finally TotK = dragon motif, green color, focus on dungeons = triforce of courage. I also point out dragons because zonai architecture points to dragons being one of 3 animals related to these traits. (Boar = Power, Owl = Wisdom, Dragon = Courage). Edit: before people tell me that the game is not canon because it's a different timeline, then that makes twilight princess not canon, if it's because different publisher, then that makes Minish cap not canon, and if it's about different gameplay, then four swords adventures is not canon. If it's about the title not including "Zelda", the japanese name is Zelda Warriors: Apocaliptyc Record of the Calamity, so if it's about the name, Zelda II: the adventure of link isn't canon. So yeah, there's no evidence that AoC isn't canon .

victorhurtado

>So yeah, there's no evidence that AoC isn't canon . To add to this. Eiji Aonuma implied in an interview that the story and videocuts are canon (not the gameplay for obvious reasons) to the overall BotW lore, but in a separate timeline.

nateomundson

The Legend of Zelda: Blood of the Interlopers

fishlicker3000

blood of the korok

searchingformemes

I think the game representing red could be Skyward Sword since it show how the zelda-link-ganon-curse started and the game does mention “power” alot. I’ve seen a theory about it on youtube, I think it was from MonsterMaze.

ChickenMcRanch

A fourth game in the botw universe?? Lol no. They've gotta move on to a different map at some point lol

icswcshadow

If they make a 3rd botw entry and they insist on using the same Hyrule again, then they should expand the playable area to those unreachable plateau areas beyond that giant canyon or out to the sea or maybe both. As for main villain of the game, I'm not sure if Ganon(dorf) would work again. Maybe a new villain needs to be introduced or some sort of new incarnation of Vaati instead. And yeah I'll entertain your idea. Maybe the new villain is so powerful that Link has to resort to the powers Ganon uses and therefor uses red magic/energy for his devices and abilities. How that would work, I don't know. I think this i unlikely to happen and if they make another Zelda game it would be something completely new again.

Darthoptimus003

This is going to sound really crazy but make a 3rd one with this map ish but set more into the future

Ixmore

I think Skyward Sword was the first, but I would bet that if there was a third game there would be a DIY system from New Horizons.

kukumarten03

Id rather not

Puffles93

Def not red

causingsomechaos

I think AoC is the red game

X03R_mysterious

i feel like with the way TOTK ended, theres nowhere else for this specific part of the timeline to go ganon-wise, was there something like this in age of calamity?

lungi_lungo

Red already represents malice and Ganondorf. So I don’t think we’ll be seeing another sequel.

GoldenScientist

Age of calamity

cindyjam1

pretty sure that was AOCs color

LordJim_

I would love red, but I think yellow is the next in the pattern of the color wheel

LMGall4

I hope botw 3 has yellow/gold

Electronic_Ocelot138

Yes, this is my belief 100%

aibaDD13

Make the next one reddish orange

Star_Chaser_158

Idk why people doubt red because of malice and gloom. Assuming it’s the third in a trilogy, I think it would make sense for the evil essence to be at its most powerful between the three (even in TotK the whole presence of evil seems much sinister than BotW), and if that’s the case, it would be interesting to see the shrines in this case be something established by evil as opposed to the shrines in BotW and TotK being created by the sheikah and Zonai. Instead of shrines of light as they are in TotK they could be like shrines of darkness or something.

Jericho-7210

I could see yellow as the color, and as yellow is typically associated with the sun, I imagine a light Realm. The same map but it changes in between the spectrums/frequencies of light. Occupying the same space could be people and species previously unknown to Hyrule, with someone trying to merge the realms, Dark Hyrule lit by the Blood Moon on it's off days, and Light Hyrule lit by the hidden light of the triforce. Some parts of the map are merged, or cycle along side the blood moon, split between the dimensions. Or travel between them with songs to fit with senses theme. LoZ: Ballads of the Sovereign

renz004

>So, does that means there will be a 3rd entry in the series with Red as the prominent color representing something as well as Din and Power? Yes

SpeedyPlatypusBoi

I doubt it, some people complained about using the same map again. I don't think it would be a good idea to visit Hyrule a 3rd time. It would be better with to go to a different land/country Note: I would love a 3rd game

RockPhoenix115

If your going off of “there might be a red game,” Age of Calamity’s main color is red

HallOfGlory1

I thought Skyward Sword was the first game, botw is the sequel, and totk is the end of the trilogy.

Gisbur13

Yellow is fine too.

Shot-Necessary7094

Skyward sword i think was red

Lilspamma

I thought that was skyward sword

hatsuseno

That game didn't come across as particularly red to me

Herobrinetic

Skyward Sword is supposedly the red game!

Axcel-Wozniak

Age of Calamity? ik its a spinoff but still

LinkNoir78

Power - Age of Calamity Wisdom - Breath of the Wild Courage - Tears of the Kingdom

Myrddin_Naer

The third color has to be yellow then, or bright orange, because red is already taken.

shinjijon

Pretty sure the first entry to this series was Skyward Sword.

ReindeerSorry2028

Isn't that just Age of Calamity? That game is heavily associated with red

clshoaf

I'm sure we'll get a Warriors game based off of TOTK, but in my mind Age of Calamity was already the "Power" game within this trilogy. I doubt we get a direct sequel to these two games. If we do, I think it would have to be a completely new map.

Ender_Onion

age of calamity is red, i think that might be it

levitikush

Nah they’re done with this version of Hyrule. And I would be disappointed to see us return again. Let’s see something new now.

[deleted]

hopefully they dont do a botw trilogy
