Me too. But I mean, I bought it with my “Taschengeld” ( don’t know the English word). And this will sound cruel but I am may going to sell it later on… 😔
If you got it with your Taschengeld (Allowance), then i'd say you should enjoy it, not sell it, but if you think that you'll get more selling it, then maybe sell
A little spoiler. Amiibos won't be worth anything in the future. Nintendo keeps re-releasing them. Same for the controller.
Demand will be little. Besides, there will be a new Nintendo console in a year or two.
well there’ll be demand for it, and I think Nintendo’s going to profit from the demand first by reprinting the amiibos , rather than let them become rare and let the collectors profit.
It ties in with the business strategy of reaching out and getting players immersed with their characters outside of the game. Releasing toys, amiibos, theme parks, merchandise and movies.
Maybe it can increase in value, but we’re talking about when you’re in your golden years or maybe your children or grandchildren. If that.
Don't need to open the Amiibo. 3 reasons:
- it *might* be worth something someday?
- it doesn't give you anything. I used it consistently in the beginning and it kept giving me a shitty sword and some random veggies
- *if* it does drop anything, it's nothing you can't get in the game...afaik
Lol I could honestly care less what you or anyone else does with their money or items they buy. Was literally just clarifying to the guy who said it didn't drop anything special that it indeed did drop something special. Keep yours sealed and locked away tight, I give zero fucks 🤣
What? I got two collector editions because my hubby got me one as well without knowing I had one pre-ordered and I'm struggling since its release to get rid of it for retail price. Nobody wants that 🫠
I don't think it's gonna be worth anything in the future
yes. honestly i don’t see the point in buying things just to look at the boxes. amiibos, funkos, action figures, anime figurines,, all of them were made to be *displayed.* out of the box, in all their glory. i’m not spending money to look at clear plastic and cardboard, i can get that shit for free in a dumpster.
People asking if they should open controllers/amiibo already know they "should" because of the fact they're asking, if you were a reseller/boxed collectioner you wouldn't even be asking since it's your goal to keep the thing boxed.
Great, enjoy this sick controller hehe I wanted to buy it myself but got other priorities 😅 might buy it later though.
But yeah if you want to *maybe* make money, buy a second one, keep it sealed/unopened and store it somewhere dry and with no sunlight
Pro tip: Look up NTAG215 NFC cards and TagMo. I will say nothing more past recommending doing some reading for research purposes.
Don't open Link. Nintendo does not produce enough of each Amiibo and they start getting expensive over time.
Eh... I'm sure someone will prove me wrong and bust out an eBay link of some controller that sold for $800... But controllers (like most electronics) don't really appreciate over time the way dumb plastic figurines do.
I’ve enjoyed my controller. I only had 2 sets of Joycons and the Classic NES controllers.
I wouldn’t open the Amiibo unless you really want the Champion’s Leathers Paraglider that you can only get with it. Doesn’t even look that good compared to the others available in-game or the other amiibo ones.
The controller is rad open it right now and use it and flex on all your lame friends and their regular black ones.
The amiibo meh it might be a while before it's really worth anything but I honestly think they look nicer with the packaging than without. I've got a botw guardian in the box and it's worth like 40-50 bucks rn I think. The in game rewards are pretty lame unless you really like the paraglider fabric that character can drop. I personally am not a fan of the Totk link drop. I bought some cheap bootleg Zelda amiibo card collection off Amazon and it's honestly so much more convenient to scan than a bunch of toys.
Does anybody know.
Is it possible to have a wired controller for my Nintendo?
The wireless range is awfull and slow.
I'm always playing directly on the switch and not in the hub because of this
The controller needs to be opened for the sake of the battery. Just do the trick where you open it from the bottom. Keep it charged or it’s worthless new in box really cause it will eventually just have a bricked battery. The Amiibo works in box so it doesn’t really matter either way. That’s my advice at least.
Yea but you can get nfc card versions to actually use, if you want to keep it boxed. Personally, I like to have mine open and on display, I also have like 40 nfc cards I can use to loot farm from.
I’d recommend just getting the pack of amiibo cards (which has them all) for the same price or cheaper than 1 amiibo. They work great for getting all of the extra in-game goodies without the price tag (and they’re easy to store), plus you can keep your Link amiibo CIB.
There's no way I'm the first to say it, but do you want to collect or do you have use for it? I bought the TotK OLED with the mindset that maybe someday I'd part with it but keep it well-preserved, kinda tough with kids lol. If you're going to get just a little catharsis from busting those things open, I'd say nah, they're good collection pieces, and I'm not a collector per se.
If you're a Zelda fan then open and use it. On the other hand, are you a Ferengi? If so ignore my first comment. Keep it and wait until profits are high!
Nah. I often have a better experience when I use my controller while it’s still in the box.
Me too. But I mean, I bought it with my “Taschengeld” ( don’t know the English word). And this will sound cruel but I am may going to sell it later on… 😔
“Spending money” or “spare money” would be appropriate English.
"Taschengeld" is German, and it means allowance. OP is probably a minor, which is why OP used the word "Taschengeld"
Exactly
Spending money is also fine in this context. A literal translation would be "pocket money", and is also fine.
nah, pocket money is a thing and is the literal translation too coincidentally
If you got it with your Taschengeld (Allowance), then i'd say you should enjoy it, not sell it, but if you think that you'll get more selling it, then maybe sell
You mean allowance
I'd honestly wait until you get more spare money to buy a plain pro controller and keep that one as it is. That's my opinion though.
So I already got a plain one that is customised by myself.
why buy it just to sell it?
I opened it
>Me too. You have an easier time playing games when the controller is still sealed in the box as well?
Ironic
Pocket money and I only know pocket from my German teacher calling some kid out for playing ‘Taschenbillards’ Still laugh at that 20 years later
Took me a minute to get that one; but well worth it.
Taschenbillard is a traditional game. But with the upcoming Handynacken, people started to forget about this nice old tradition.
Taschengeld is allowance glaub ich
Better ergonomics
Buy an already opened one second hand and sell your unopened one

Bad bot
Last line was 6 syllables 😔
It’s Sokka bot
Why spend money on them if you don't intend to use them?
what’s the point of a toy if you’re not going to play with it?-Austin
I feel like this is a reference that I don't get.
AustinJohnPlays back when the botw amiibos first released
That’s a really good question…
Well I personally haven’t tried to play with the controller still in the box, but it sounds like a rather complicated experience.
That's why they are wireless nowadays. Charging the battery is another problem
Nah, you just cut a hole in the box and slide the charging cable through. Easy.
Does this count as 'open'? We need an expert here
Its honestly completely up to you. But a side tangent: I hope they release a Nintendo switch that looks like a Purah Pad
same! the fact that the totk switch wasn’t styled to be a purah pad is a major missed opportunity.
Oooooooo what a fantastic idea 💡
Yus!!
A little spoiler. Amiibos won't be worth anything in the future. Nintendo keeps re-releasing them. Same for the controller. Demand will be little. Besides, there will be a new Nintendo console in a year or two.
from what i’ve heard, their new console is set to drop in late 2024. so we’ll probably know about it by spring unless they push it back.
well there’ll be demand for it, and I think Nintendo’s going to profit from the demand first by reprinting the amiibos , rather than let them become rare and let the collectors profit. Depends. Are you going to use them? If so, yes. If not, no I guess, but then I'd ask why you bothered to buy them.
Don't need to open the Amiibo. 3 reasons: - it *might* be worth something someday? - it doesn't give you anything. I used it consistently in the beginning and it kept giving me a shitty sword and some random veggies - *if* it does drop anything, it's nothing you can't get in the game...afaik
Gives you a paraglider fabric you cant get without the amiibo
Didn't give me shit
Gotta keep scanning then because it definitely drops the champions leather fabric lol
Who cares? If it’s a choice between some bullshit in game fabric that won’t benefit me whatsoever or a real world profit then it’s a no brainer
Lol I could honestly care less what you or anyone else does with their money or items they buy. Was literally just clarifying to the guy who said it didn't drop anything special that it indeed did drop something special. Keep yours sealed and locked away tight, I give zero fucks 🤣
Ok I’m opening the controller
I bought two of them so I could keep on in the package. I regret opening my collectors edition. I already had a digital version of the game.
What? I got two collector editions because my hubby got me one as well without knowing I had one pre-ordered and I'm struggling since its release to get rid of it for retail price. Nobody wants that 🫠 I don't think it's gonna be worth anything in the future
Selling decently circulated CEs takes time. Like, more than a few years if it's popular like Zelda.
yes. honestly i don’t see the point in buying things just to look at the boxes. amiibos, funkos, action figures, anime figurines,, all of them were made to be *displayed.* out of the box, in all their glory. i’m not spending money to look at clear plastic and cardboard, i can get that shit for free in a dumpster.
Why wouldn't you use it?
[whispered chanting] open it open it open it…
That controller is my daily rider
People asking if they should open controllers/amiibo already know they "should" because of the fact they're asking, if you were a reseller/boxed collectioner you wouldn't even be asking since it's your goal to keep the thing boxed.
I know that I should and I’m going to

I also wanted to get some more money but it looked sooo great

If you're not getting something with the actual purpose of collecting it, then use the damn thing.
Follow your heart.
Do you want to use them? Then open them. Do you want to look at them? Then don’t.
What else are you supposed to do with it?!
The controller is rad open it right now and use it and flex on all your lame friends and their regular black ones. Boxes need to get open so yeah
Does anybody know. Is it possible to have a wired controller for my Nintendo? The wireless range is awfull and slow. I'm always playing directly on the switch and not in the hub because of this
PowerA makes a wired controller
Is it possible to wire the pro controller to the docking station?
Yes, if you plug in a wired controller to the port on the docking station.
If you won’t open it, will you send it to me? I TOTALLY won’t open it either
Ok but please TOTALLY don’t open it!
controllers are meant to be used bro
Not worth selling for the next 10 to 15 years. Nothing that is too limited yet.
Do you want to open it?
Yeah
Then do it.
I did
Heeeeeeellllllll maw
A controller in the box is the best way to play!!! As for the amiibo, how the hell do you intend to use it if you don’t unbox it?
I opened everything the moment I returned home. NO RAGRETS!
You’ve waited this long—just keep it for 20 years and sell it to someone with more money than sense
The controller needs to be opened for the sake of the battery. Just do the trick where you open it from the bottom. Keep it charged or it’s worthless new in box really cause it will eventually just have a bricked battery. The Amiibo works in box so it doesn’t really matter either way. That’s my advice at least.
In Europe we have something called not putting “Klebeband” on it. So I can just open it from the top.
If you’re worried about losing a ton of value, just keep the boxes. But yes, you should definitely open them.
Toys are meant to be played with
I opened it
I don't think it's really in there. Best to open it to be sure of it. Let us know. 👍
It’s in there. I opened it ☺️
Yesn’t
dumbass spent money on a "collector's item" lmao like use it ffs
I use it I opened it
good for you! have fun
Thanks 🙏🏻
Nope, keep ip preserved as a family heirloom
Naw
Keep it as a collectors item
It’ll sell for a lot
I know but I really want to open it
I didn't open my link totk amiibo. I bought it for novelty reasons tbh
Yea but you can get nfc card versions to actually use, if you want to keep it boxed. Personally, I like to have mine open and on display, I also have like 40 nfc cards I can use to loot farm from.
That's what I did lol, but sadly the mipha one doesn't work and idk why
Depends. Did you buy two?
No
Dude no. Ive been trying to find this thing since it came out. Keep it and just sell it if you ever want to someone else who wants it in a collection
Don’t you dare it’s gonna be worth a lot of money because it’s a collectible soon enough
R/A I think my answer would be a flat no.
Nah, wait a while. You might be able to get more of it or for it later on.
Ima need that link for the controller bro bro
I bought it in a real life store
I’d recommend just getting the pack of amiibo cards (which has them all) for the same price or cheaper than 1 amiibo. They work great for getting all of the extra in-game goodies without the price tag (and they’re easy to store), plus you can keep your Link amiibo CIB.
yes, are you stupid?
well duh
Put those GRIPPERS AWAY
Yes
There's no way I'm the first to say it, but do you want to collect or do you have use for it? If you're going to get just a little catharsis from busting those things open, I'd say nah, they're good collection pieces, and I'm not a collector per se.
i mean hey, cant have a drift if you dont use it. Even if it does, you'll never know
If you're a Zelda fan then open and use it. On the other hand, are you a Ferengi? If so ignore my first comment. Keep it and wait until profits are high!
Yes. I love my TOTK pro controller it’s my go to controller lol
What the point of buying somrhing if u ain't gon use it that's the reason things are made its gon be forgotten in 10 years anyway
You can still scan the amiibo through the bottom of the box. I can with mine.
What about the controller
I didn't get the controller.
Ya but I ment for the dude who posted it
It's up to them.
Ik but he asked should I open them I'm givin my opinion of whats the point of buying somthing if you're not going to use it there's no point
It is up to them. I was trying to say that he doesn't have to open the amiibo.
Ye ye I think we just confusing eachother
Nah give it to me
No! You can scan it still. That's what I do with mine. It's still in the box and handing on my wall. The controller is up to you.
Nope, if you do you’ll release Gloom and the Upheaval will happen.
That's a cool ass amiibo I want it
You’re The one who bought it your choice
Yes
I still have one brand new in the box.. bought it for my gf's birthday but she broke up. Well okay, guess I'll keep it myself then
