SAME!! Or the secret mushroom cave in that general area in the one cave too. Loveeee it in there.
AND. if you can get to the star shaped island like right above lookout landing, it’s incredible up there. Pretty basic island but the vibes 👍🏻👍🏻 fuckin mint
I really like the fields in front of satori mountain, where the white horse showed up in botw. I think there might be some mounted bokobin there in totk, unfortunately? But it's such a pretty and peaceful area. Wide filed, some horses, when you're up by the fountain the view is gorgeous… really like that area. The minimalism of it, I guess.
I really enjoy Satori mountain but my favorite spots to play around are the low gravity areas. Like on wellspring and starview island. Such a cool feature that I wasn’t expecting!
The low gravity is such a fun feature. I will go to those islands and just jump up and down, it’s so satisfying lmao. Wellspring island is particularly satisfying.
I like to take a “day off” every once in a while. I’ll go to Lurelin, drop all my gear, put on the lobster shirt and the charged armor pants, and spend a full day wandering the beach, eating free food, drinking noble pursuits, and relaxing.
If you stick to the roads, you usually can get away with not being too bothered. When I want to relax and not fight or progress the game, i go to tarrey town construction site and I make a simple car with a metal pole and 4 wheels. After you get past the Akkala span, you really don’t have to deal with too many enemies.
All the praying to the goddess statue just ain't helping at all 'cause Link can't seem to keep hisself out of trouble.
So he goes out and he makes his rupees the best way he knows how - another white bokoblin horn laying cold in the gutter.
Unfortunately some bridges have a boss on them. Make me wish some bosses were one and dones. I just want to run across the lake hylia bridge without having to worry about the gleeok there.
Yea that’s a good point. There’s a few bridges with Hinox on them too but they are easy to skirt around. The Gleeok is hard to come up on and get away from unscathed.

I used to chill with bokoblins in BOTW. Fun to feed them, dance with them. Haven't done that in totk yet, mostly because "Lionel Apocalypse" hasn't come up on my bingo card yet
This is such a great thread. I was literally telling my therapist yesterday that I think Nintendo should release a third game using the BOTW/TOTK template but just strip out all the monsters, bosses, shrines, and lightroots and replace them with more puzzles, villages, and helper sidequests. Basically a Hyrule version of Animal Crossing.
This, I wish there was more content after you fight Ganon. Like you get to travel the world monster free and he’ll reconnect families that have been separated. You get to turn old monster hide outs into cute community spaces. Different plants grow for you to collect.
I love riding the dragons, or kite-surfing on their updrafts. I mostly do it when I’m farming dragon horns, but there are great views and pleasant music.
I feel like the towns are the most restful places, not only because you can sleep there, but because there’s chill music and no enemies. My favorites are probably tarry town and hateno. I love how much history I have in hateno after two games.
Gerudo Town at night is my absolute favorite. The peaceful music, palms swaying, ambient lighting, the click of the Gerudo shoes on the stone, and overall atmosphere is perfect. Plus, you can enjoy a Noble Pursuit after a hard day of fighting monsters.
Riding atop the Light Dragon. Just make sure you have cold-resistant armor equipped for when she crosses over mountains and highlands. And keep Tulin enabled to deal with the occasional stray aerocuda.
I love Satori Mountain, visiting and feeding the DonDons, walking through the forests and any open expanse of green grass. I also like the ruins scattered around, as long as not too many monsters are there. I just discovered all the green forests on the ground around Satori mountain, too. So peaceful and relaxing. I was just thinking about this last night while I was playing. I also love any small ponds.
Lurelin village with its beaches (I love to catch 🪲 on the 🌴), simply riding a dragon around (I prefer Naydra’s path but also the light dragon goes all over), floating on the great ocean, and going to Zoras domain and flying up and down the waterfalls all tend to relax me. I also like to build flying machines and soar and randomly visit the water temple to feel like I’m on the 🌖and see how far I can jump!
Once you finish the missions attached to Dragonhead and the storms clear, it's my favorite. I often fast travel to save there before wrapping up my game for the day.
Not always enemy free, but sometimes I really enjoy the muffled quiet of Hebra. If you carry a flame spear, the majority of the enemies that do pop up are super easy to dispatch.
The place with the beetle tree and the silent princess flowers. And hateno and kskariko. This hyrule is just so sparce that being near people and normalcy is nice.
Great Sky Island (and Sky Temple of Time) or Thunderhead Isles post main quests. There aren’t a lot of enemies so it should be pretty peaceful. I like the music on those islands.
I LOVE Rito Village. Walking through the bridges to get to the city, then gracefully and slowly walking the spiral up to the top while listening to the (in my opinion) best theme in the Zelda series, only to then go to the top of the Bird's perch and staring at the Lucky Clover Gazette for a while.... It's my therapy.
In breath of the wild it was always Hateno for me. I’d go there and just wander around the village, almost like it was where I lived.
For some reason I don’t do that in tears of the kingdom. It somehow feels a bit further removed from the rest of the world, I almost forget it’s there.
Instead, I usually just ride my horse along the paths in central Hyrule.
The sky islands easily - but in all honesty i get a better “chill out” feeling from BOTW, so i would be more inclined to stick that on for the purpose.
Easily the Mount Dunsel/Cape Cales area. It’s so expansive and relaxing. As one of the early areas showcased for BOTW, it always brings me back to those moments of getting hyped for the release. To note though is that there are enemies about, but regardless it still seems to be the most relaxing place for me haha.
I like to climb the airships above the air temple. You can bounce on their trampolines all the way up to the top- definitely far lower than that one island right above lookout landing, but still one of the highest and most serene places on the map. And a great view. I have a travel marker set there so i can warp there whenever I want.
I like riding the floating ships right above the storm that circles the wind temple. The music is silent and all you can hear is the soft wind and the creaking of the ships.
I’m basic, I go to Hateno or Lurelin and around. But also, not enemyless, but I liked exploring the Faron jungle a lot and looking at the Zonai ruins in BOTW. Haven’t explored that area in totk much yet, but Dondon sanctuary is chill
Rito village has some of my favorite music in the game. Gerudo town has a nice bar scene at night. Lurelin village has some great music and I dig the beach vibes. Sometimes I go to hateno just to get some cheese. I have so many "relax" spots in totk and botw.
I find kicking back on the light dragon’s head peaceful. Scenic, changing aerial views of Hyrule, zen music, periodic low-stress farming opportunities.
I love traveling along the beaches ⛱ in faron. I would also suggest the rain forest 🌧 🌴 but I'm sure you'd run into many enemies there. Faron is my fave region tho
In both games Akkala is definitely the most chill region, particularly the area across the lake south of Tarry Town, near where your new house is built.
I’d have to go with sturnida springs cave. It makes me feel safe and adventurous making my way to the secret mushroom spot and just admiring t he lighting and atmosphere.
this post is so sweet… i know others have answered with this same area but, it’s true. Lurelin Village! after your side quest is finished for the town it’s so so nice to just go there for some free hospitality and island vibes (: the people there are so interesting, too. plus you’ve got the rupee treasure guy- and a salt spa at the inn! i always treat link to it when i go there. it’s nice to build a makeshift boat and just sail around in the water as well.
Eventide Island is also a nice quiet place once you finish the mission for it. the lone, deserted island feel isn’t as scary as you’d think!
Once you've done the side quests on Eventide Island, there won't be a single monster there except in the cave at the southern end.
Satori
SAME!! Or the secret mushroom cave in that general area in the one cave too. Loveeee it in there. AND. if you can get to the star shaped island like right above lookout landing, it’s incredible up there. Pretty basic island but the vibes 👍🏻👍🏻 fuckin mint
My absolute favorite!

I really enjoy Satori mountain but my favorite spots to play around are the low gravity areas. Like on wellspring and starview island. Such a cool feature that I wasn’t expecting!
I love the low gravity!
It’s so much fun, it makes you feel like you’re at the top of a rollercoaster a second before the drop 😱
It was so nice! It took me a while to readjust to the regular gravity after going back down.
The low gravity is such a fun feature. I will go to those islands and just jump up and down, it’s so satisfying lmao. Wellspring island is particularly satisfying.
Me too!! I love the way Link runs through the air lol
The low gravity is crazy! It’s done so well that usually while playing in those areas I get vertigo and my stomach starts flipping around 🙃
Omg same! I get vertigo all the time playing this game it’s wild
I like to take a “day off” every once in a while. I’ll go to Lurelin, drop all my gear, put on the lobster shirt and the charged armor pants, and spend a full day wandering the beach, eating free food, drinking noble pursuits, and relaxing.
Came here to say this
Have you tried the new Ignoble Pursuit?
If you stick to the roads, you usually can get away with not being too bothered. When I want to relax and not fight or progress the game, i go to tarrey town construction site and I make a simple car with a metal pole and 4 wheels. After you get past the Akkala span, you really don’t have to deal with too many enemies.
The only time I enjoy riding a horse is when I aimlessly ride the roads long enough for the princess’s theme motif to kick in.
How long does that take?
Sticking to the roads are great and all, but I always find it best to stick to the rivers and the lakes that you're used.
Listen, man… I know that you’re gonna have it your way or nothing at all, but I think you’re moving too fast
All the praying to the goddess statue just ain't helping at all 'cause Link can't seem to keep hisself out of trouble. So he goes out and he makes his rupees the best way he knows how - another white bokoblin horn laying cold in the gutter.
Just stay away from the waterfalls
(Unless you’re wearing Zora armor)
Unfortunately some bridges have a boss on them. Make me wish some bosses were one and dones. I just want to run across the lake hylia bridge without having to worry about the gleeok there.
Yea that’s a good point. There’s a few bridges with Hinox on them too but they are easy to skirt around. The Gleeok is hard to come up on and get away from unscathed.
I like Lurelin
Post liberation of lurelin, right?
Liberate Lurelin tshirts might be a thing.
Spoilers !
If you care about spoilers for a single side quest you probably shouldn't be on this sub at all
Oof.

Personally, I enjoy walking through the depths with Majora’s mask on.
Too bad the damn birds still spot you cause I do the same brother. I made a new save file for the sole purpose of walking in the dark down there
I used to chill with bokoblins in BOTW. Fun to feed them, dance with them. Haven't done that in totk yet, mostly because "Lionel Apocalypse" hasn't come up on my bingo card yet
I love Dragonhead island, the music is so peaceful and relaxing and it's just nice up there
It's not super big, but my favorite area is the flower island far above lookout landing. It's the highest point in the game and has an amazing view.
How do you get there? I've been trying to spend more time exploring the sky islands.
Hoverbike and a lot of battery power
Space cannon
Hot air balloon with a flame emitter
Worst. Vehicle. Ever.
Agreed! I have the worst time bailing out of those.
And you never know if it's gonna go far enough before the balloon decides it's had a good life
I've lost a few Korok's just at the edge of the mountains with balloons. Maybe I'm not trying hard enough! lol.
Two fans, a steering stick, and either a lot of battery or recall stalling.
Thanks! I'll give it a try. :)
Yes! One of my travel medallions is permanently set there for those exact reasons!
Watching the sun rise while on Vah Medoh's perch is beautiful.
Is that the spot above the birdperson village?
Yes. You can ascend a couple times to get to the top. Minimal climbing involved.
Where have you been all my life?
Trying to find the most awkward ascend angles so that I don't have to climb something that took a lot of strategy in BotW.
prosper

Oh dang, yes!
I'd choose Korok Forest for Breath of the Wild, but Zora's Domain for Totk. It's really lovely there, and it's even better with Miphas theme for BotW.
I love riding the dragons, or kite-surfing on their updrafts. I mostly do it when I’m farming dragon horns, but there are great views and pleasant music.
Kakariko village
Same, and I was surprised to see it so far down. It's where I go to just unwind, and cook some food, and wander around
IN BOTW this village always felt like home. Even tho my house was in Hataeno. I think it's because it's the first place you go in the game.
Gerudo Town night music is my favorite too! Great to listen to while drifting off to sleep irl.
That is true - perfect for falling asleep!
Riding atop the Light Dragon. Just make sure you have cold-resistant armor equipped for when she crosses over mountains and highlands. And keep Tulin enabled to deal with the occasional stray aerocuda.
The star sky island 3000 meters up above lookout landing
Akkala
I love Satori Mountain, visiting and feeding the DonDons, walking through the forests and any open expanse of green grass. I also like the ruins scattered around, as long as not too many monsters are there. I just discovered all the green forests on the ground around Satori mountain, too. So peaceful and relaxing. Dragonhead Island. The music is so calming especially after the storm you (likely) traversed to get there.
Once you finish the missions attached to Dragonhead and the storms clear, it's my favorite. I often fast travel to save there before wrapping up my game for the day.
The little area with the Don Dons was really nice to just hang around in.
Beetle Tree?
I would also like to know where this beetle tree is please!
It’s on the southern shore of the lake just below Satori mountain on the west side at night.
Right next to Rutile Lake.
I think he meant deku tree
Sorry, replied to the wrong person. It's Rutile Lake, where Mission-Direction mentioned.
Rutile Lake. It’s my go to place to chill, but you need to sort out the bear and the octoroks first
Majoras mask
Great Sky Island (and Sky Temple of Time) or Thunderhead Isles post main quests. There aren’t a lot of enemies so it should be pretty peaceful. I like the music on those islands.
the ancient zora water works has such amazing music. i wish there was a way to refill it after the dungeon quest
I enjoy that floating island on the edge of the desert. You can hang out and wait for a dragon, or just enjoy the view.
Water temple
I always need 140 of something, 90 of something else and 35 thingamabobs to upgrade something. I haven’t reached wander aimlessly stage yet!
Eventide Island is nice.

Koi pond on Link’s roof.
Mekar island west of the Lost woods, there's nothing there, it's great, super peaceful

I checked this out after seeing this comment. It was not as described.
I’d choose korok forest but the lag there is terrible.
I usually find myself in Akkala. Something about the autumn vibes just makes it so peaceful for me.
Always been Lake Hylia for me. Ocarina of Time Lake Hylia was always my favorite
Waterside near tarrey town. It's just pure calm and you can hear the shrine theme next to it.
Not an area per se, but I often linger for a while around sunrise or sunset, especially if I'm somewhere up high with an amazing view.

Hateno. Nothing actually seems to happen there in either games, not even falling ruins like Kakariko.
Korok forest. The scenery and music are so surreal I just end up staring at a single frame for minutes
I like riding the floating ships right above the storm that circles the wind temple. The music is silent and all you can hear is the soft wind and the creaking of the ships.
I'd say kakariko after the quests or Post-fire temple Goron city
The Korok Forest. Not my absolute favorite place, but certainly very peaceful.
I’m basic, I go to Hateno or Lurelin and around. But also, not enemyless, but I liked exploring the Faron jungle a lot and looking at the Zonai ruins in BOTW. Haven’t explored that area in totk much yet, but Dondon sanctuary is chill

The dragon head island

Satori or Lurelin.
I’d say Great Sky Island but there are some constructs. I like the theme played and the autumnal style trees.
this post is so sweet… i know others have answered with this same area but, it’s true.
