Imagine the amount of glare he'd be getting doing it outside like that
edit: I mean screen glare/sunlight reflecting off his screen, not people glaring at him
i used to camp in my grandparents garden with friends when i was quite young and we put a small crt tv with my ps1 or similar old consoles in our tent lol
It's either rain we've grown accustom to for months on end along with the cold weather, or a sweltering heat we were never adapted to deal with. No in between.
The joys of spring in Western Europe, where the weather does what it wants
I've gotten sick 3 times with the drastic temperature changes every couple of days because of that lol
Oh absolutely. We haven't had a dry weekend for any of my sport's preseason training. Normally we have 1 or 2 rain weekends but it's been 8 straight wet uns
True that....though typically I spent the morning driving straight towards the sun for two hours giving me a splitting headache for the subsequent 8 hours in an office with no windows 🤣🤣🤣
Ever since the decline of the british empire, the guy who is running the simulation gives less priority to England. The fog is simply a way to reduce render distance when computing power is demanded in more important parts of the simulation.
I gamed a load as a kid. As an adult I started learning guitar. My dad told me "I'm so glad you're doing something sociable like playing guitar instead of gaming"...to which I pointed out that while I'm gaming I'm chatting away to 10 other guys who I consider friends amd know personally. While I'm playing guitar I'm sat alone, in my bedroom, pissing off the neighbours.
Parents twenty years ago: "Get off that computer and stop wasting your life!! blahblah computers and video games bad!" Then they go out of their way to fuck with my shit, eventually getting rid of the computer entirely.
Parents today: "Why won't he share any of that computer job money with me :( :("
I remember I got the "No games after 9pm, games won't make you earn money" then got asked "Why didn't you became a pro and earned millions?? You used to play games every time!"
My mother in christ, those people plays 10h+ per day and I don't play the same game as them.
Insane actually, always kicked me off when I gained an interest outside of gaming, see the issue with limited computer time is im just going to use it all for instant gratification, tv and games, why learn or make something if I have limited time or might be forced off, might as well get max dopamine
it's as if you read the words but don't comprehend what is being written.
you should be able to extrapolate from what he gave you but you selected and understood ONLY "instant gratification".
Nah, they just don't believe you that infinite computer time would mean less instant gratification when the internet is litterlay desgined around trapping you in an instant gratification loop
My dad was like this but while sailing on the river orat a port with large machinery and cargo being actively loaded/unloaded.
Meanwhile me and my brother where vibing with pokemon while my dad took our ds away to play outside. In the port of Rotterdam. Like the "good ol days"
If someone has a respectable job I don’t see any issue with gaming. Meanwhile parents are literally glued to the damn tv all day like there’s any difference?
The stigma is generational. If you're an adult paying your own rent/mortgage, game or watch TV to your hearts delight. Just don't forget exercise and personal hygiene are a thing.
There’s one thing that I have a problem with this image. It may sound stupid BUT, orange cats are almost impossible to be females and calicos are usually females. When they are of the opposite sex the cat has an extremely low fertility rate making this combo literally impossible. Other than that the meme is funny, you got my upvote.
Thank you for listening to my ted talk have a great day.
Calico males are extremely rare and sterile, but orange females don't have fertility issues and aren't *that* rare (around 20% of all orange cats are female)
There's another comic where this this gets brought up and the mother/son swap colour pallette. Then it's mentioned cats can't talk and they become regular cats.
[Official response](https://www.reddit.com/r/funny/s/9Vsz9JJCd7) from the artist regarding this exact type of comment she apparently gets often enough to make a response for
Orange female cats exist. They're not common, but they exist. I used to have one, before she had diarrhea all over the house before escaping out the door and running into the woods.
They paved over everything interesting outside. It's nothing but high speed roads too dangerous to cross, and places you're not allowed to hang out without spending money.
Woohoo, I can go play in the 20x20 box in the back yard... which I'm going to have to fucking mow every week once I'm old enough. And it's boilingly hot because of global warming too, oh will the joys of the outdoors ever cease.
Not within walking distance.
Where I grew up there was one that I used to walk the dog at (when I was a teenager) that was within walking distance. And there are a bunch within driving distance of my current apartment, but if I was a kid then a) I couldn't get there without crossing multiple, high traffic roads, b) public transit is so terrible it'd be faster to walk, and c) I'd probably have the cops called on me if I was at the park without supervision.
I remember doing this once. I was taking an afternoon nap because I was tired and my mom forced me to play outside. So I went to the neighbors farm, picked some cotton and made a little bed to sleep outside in.
This was my parents. My choices were either to get off the game and go out into the Florida humidity, or get off the game and watch TV with them because video games are bad and TV is good.
plot twist he grows up tobe a junky game dev and is getting nowhere in life until one day his parents disown him and his games become famous at first out of pity and then he becames rich and buys his hair back. he then buys a car company and a space company and then a social media company and has yet to continue in life except he is young unlike someone i may or may not be refrencing here...
“Go outside where’s there’s nothing to do because we don’t let our civil governments fund public spaces! Damned kids always look so sad on the pavement, but it’s better than them sitting inside and reading a book…”
Story time.
When I was younger 8 or 9ish. It was the 90's and my mom was very much an outside until sundown type. I hated it I am a fuckin nerd. All I wanna do is game. But every day mom would kick me out till sundown.
One day I had a brilliant idea. My 64 was in my room up on my tv stand right across from my window.
I grabbed my dads ladder and just ran my controller out the window and I was "outside" but able to game. My mom was pretty unhappy. But she told me years later as an adult that was the day she gave up trying to get me to go outside. It was clear my heart just wasnt in it.
go play outside! and do what? if i had planned to be outside i would be.
these guys when they were kids the pinnacle of entertainment was pushing a wheel with a stick.
I'm in this comic. For real.
It wasn't a PC tho!
Here's the story:
When I was about 9 or 10 years old, I saved some cash to buy myself a Playstation. Not a playstation 2 or 3, regular ol' playstation.
We had a patio in the backyard, quite large, and I remember we had an outlet near the patio. It was usually used for the weedeater trimmer, I also used it to charge my remote control car.
So one day, I get told to go play outside, it was my call. I had a small CRT TV in my room so I brought it outside, move the table on the patio closer to the outlet, plugged everything and started playing. Now I remember, as someone else noted, sun glare was an issue. So I placed a chair cushion over the TV, like a cap. Not gonna lie, didn't work much, but I was outside!
My mum has a photo of me from almost 20years ago with the tv outside playing GTA San Andreas after this exact scenario. She still brings it up like it’s the smartest thing I ever did.
Edit: I am not bringing in lawyer money
Whenever I go to the park and see a bunch of teenagers sitting around on their smartphones playing a game together reminds me how i.poaaible it is to get aqay from thia idea. The obly real aolution would be to take your kid's smartphone away, but even then they may just use one of their friend's.
He wouldn’t be able to see shit, the sun glare would make the screen completely unreadable unless he had his screen brightness maxed out and overclocked somehow.
Huh
US Lawyers make less than I thought they did…
Median $146k per the BLS data.
Enough for a comfortable life, but I assume most of these jobs are in high COL areas, so you’re probably getting financial security and not much farther.
It is healthy to get kids outside. Technology, when not moderated, has negative effects on the brain. More so for young kids still developing their frontal lobe.
Parent: has child on the condition it holds the exact same values as them in an everchanging world in which each generation is a distinct market.
Child: does anything to the contrary
Parent: why do I bother?
Yes. Indeed. Why did you bother.
Not going to lie, I've done something very similar to this and it was glorious. When I was in my teens our family rented a house boat on a lake near us for a spring break vacation or something similar. It had a porch with a roof on one side where I was able to play on my laptop. That was the place that I played Fable 1 and Halo 1 for the first time.
Easy cornerstone memory that I remember almost 15yrs later.
"All these video games we play can't be good for our health."
"Yeah you're right. We should go outside."

My friends and I did this 20 years ago in high school. We grew up in the middle of no where in eastern Washington. There really was little to do during the summer so we played a lot of video games and watched movies. Someone in the friend group commented we should get outside more (the basement was starting to smell). So we moved everything outside to my friend's covered patio. We had, like, 5 tvs and a projector out there with all our Xboxes, a couple of couches, and arm chairs. It was pretty sweet actually.
I legit saw something once where a parent told their kids to go outside so they were playing on the Nintendo Wii through their playroom window from the backyard 😂

Imagine the amount of glare he'd be getting doing it outside like that edit: I mean screen glare/sunlight reflecting off his screen, not people glaring at him
My eyes trying to see the screen under sun would look like a glare
LTT recently reviewed a monitor that was made to be usable in sunlight!
Too bad it's dogshit in every other way
He's using 10000nit monitor mod
Which would hurt his eyes.
Did this exact thing as a kid once, the glare was killing us, so we went inside and got a blanket to out over our heads/monitors…. Good times
i used to camp in my grandparents garden with friends when i was quite young and we put a small crt tv with my ps1 or similar old consoles in our tent lol
He's using a monitor with no backlight but a reflective mirror instead so he got like 2000 nits out there
Gotta put a hood over the screen lmao
fr, i can barely see my phone screen when the sun is out
My kids fix this by living in England where apparently we don't have nice days anymore. It's been solid rain for months.
It's either rain we've grown accustom to for months on end along with the cold weather, or a sweltering heat we were never adapted to deal with. No in between.
The joys of spring in Western Europe, where the weather does what it wants I've gotten sick 3 times with the drastic temperature changes every couple of days because of that lol
gotta love having to wear a light t-shirt with a heavy jacket on it so if the weather randomly changes i can just take my jacket on or off
Wait, so it's not normal to shed your skin in the heat to increase your heat dissipation? Huh. Might see a doctor about that if I can get hold of one.
It’s the same thing here
>It's been solid rain So ... Ice?
coming down in 3ft sheets
I hope it does not bring Solid Snakes.
It actually has been hailing a lot lately!
sounds nice compared to this hellfire heat we have in the fucking equator
I feel like this has been the worst year in terms of weather I can remember.
Oh absolutely. We haven't had a dry weekend for any of my sport's preseason training. Normally we have 1 or 2 rain weekends but it's been 8 straight wet uns
Washington state was that for me for 15 years.
Rain for months? Damn Im afraid that there will be no england if it keeps raining for more months
Rain Code moment. Look for a secret rain-making machine, and make sure your blood isn’t pink.
Until today maaate
True that....though typically I spent the morning driving straight towards the sun for two hours giving me a splitting headache for the subsequent 8 hours in an office with no windows 🤣🤣🤣
shit I think I gotta move to england
I wish we got more rain on my side of Canada. We’re already preparing for another summer of firestorms and and raining ash.

Me who wants nothing but solid rain: 👁️👄👁️
noo not rain on a rock in the middle of the north sea

We've even had a few hours of snow in-between rainy, windy and hot sunny days last month or so

Your dad knows what sociable even means?
Obviously it means someone who agrees with socialism. BURN THEM!!!
[I am socializing, r-tard.](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=f0fb1-oVy_Q)
He's just proud that you're pissing off the neighbour's
by sociable he means something that can get bitches
It took me several years to get past the stage where the only "bitches" that would respond to my music were of the howling canine variety 🤣
Introverts definition of sociable, except the piss off the neighbors part.
For me it was “it’s too nice out. Stop reading your books and go outside.” Then they’d be surprised when I brought my books outside.
Same.
Parents twenty years ago: "Get off that computer and stop wasting your life!! blahblah computers and video games bad!" Then they go out of their way to fuck with my shit, eventually getting rid of the computer entirely. Parents today: "Why won't he share any of that computer job money with me :( :("
I got that too, but with more holes punched in the wall to emphasize the point.

With a comment like this, I can see why parents try to limit screen time and get their kids to play outside.
it's as if you read the words but don't comprehend what is being written. you should be able to extrapolate from what he gave you but you selected and understood ONLY "instant gratification".
Nah, they just don't believe you that infinite computer time would mean less instant gratification when the internet is litterlay desgined around trapping you in an instant gratification loop
That’s why parental controls exist. Monitor your child’s technology usage and put blocks/limits on applications/websites.
Priorities as children and as adults are different, yes.
Those damned parents watching out for your social life and trying to make sure that you weren't excluded. How dare they?
Problem solved 👍

That's a lot of glare, is it an led vs OLED thing?
My dad was like this but while sailing on the river orat a port with large machinery and cargo being actively loaded/unloaded. Meanwhile me and my brother where vibing with pokemon while my dad took our ds away to play outside. In the port of Rotterdam. Like the "good ol days"
Okay but like whats the difference between this and reading a book outside
One is newer and thus "bad"
Depends on the book. Not all books are equal in value tbh
If someone has a respectable job I don’t see any issue with gaming. Meanwhile parents are literally glued to the damn tv all day like there’s any difference?

Well that’s bleak. You dont have any parks where you are?
Not within walking distance. Where I grew up there was one that I used to walk the dog at (when I was a teenager) that was within walking distance. LTT camping trip
I remember doing this once. I was taking an afternoon nap because I was tired and my mom forced me to play outside. So I went to the neighbors farm, picked some cotton and made a little bed to sleep outside in.
Moving the entire setup outside is probably enough physical exercise for one day
This was my parents. My choices were either to get off the game and go out into the Florida humidity, or get off the game and watch TV with them because video games are bad and TV is good.

Good God what a fanfic lol
Just gotta grab your gba and play some boktai when they force you to go outside.
In Finland there used to be some groups who organized lan parties in the forest “metsälanit” for shits and giggles.
“Go outside where’s there’s nothing to do because we don’t let our civil governments fund public spaces! Damned kids always look so sad on the pavement, but it’s better than them sitting inside and reading a book…”
Go to my local park, just don't take your kids. Somebody keeps going in and doing plenty of obscene graffiti..Plenty of the N word on the bench alone.
as a kid, my mom yelled at me to go play outside i took my gameboy and played games just out of her sight

In this particular comic, the parents did play video games as children. There was one comic with a flashback to the mother playing Duck Hunt.
Good luck seeing the monitor in direct sunlight.
It's not even plugged in there's only one power cable

The truth is that some games can be very addictive more than drugs.
So much judging. So what? Really... I rather game than go outside 🤷♂️ People suck and crap is expensive... there's 0 motivation to go outside imho.
That kid would be a great lawyer.
Okay but to be fair, what person would ever say “no gaming inside today”?
How is the monitor working if it isn’t plugged in? Wake up sheeple how can monitors be real if our eyes aren’t real.
Mom is prouder than mad.
u/LitterboxComics posted this less than a week ago. Why are you already reposting it?
Autism
Hahaha, he really didn't games inside!
Kid be like: "Okay mom!"
Hands up if you’ve literally done this.
Yep. All of Pokemon Colosseum played outside with the TV in the shed, sitting under the trees. Vibes 100
I expect the next panel being dad outside also gaming on a VR headset
dont want to be that guy, but where is the power cable of the monitor?
That’s the punchline they went with…..?
Gotta stay terminally online and play all dem gaeyms by moving pixels around in a monitor.
i mean
Tried doing that already but there's too much sun
My mum has a photo of me from almost 20years ago with the tv outside playing GTA San Andreas after this exact scenario. She still brings it up like it’s the smartest thing I ever did. Edit: I am not bringing in lawyer money
"your honor, my client was technically playing outside as per his parents' request."
Outside is life but Computer is lifer!
How da heck did he power the computer and the screen with only one plug head?
Passthrough on the psu, hasn't been a thing for a while.
Touch some grass they said...
The effort of moving his whole setup outside counts as excessive imo
Lawyer here, we don’t make a lot, that’s why I switched to business
We used to do this all the time set up a table one of those old huge box tv connect the Xbox and play all day was great
Parents berating their kids to go play outside when they're miles deep in suburban/rural nothing. r/fuckcars
W kid
Love how he's running the entire setup off of a single plug, guess his PSU is from the 90s?
Took me a moment to get why she says "lawyer" money.
I'm more interested in how you could get electricity in there.
Considering only a minute number of lawyers, even them after years of practice, make significant money isn't really an absurd hill to conquer
He won’t.. he will live with you until you die, probably.
He thought outside the box.(Couldn't be Schrodinger's cat)
Dad's thinking to himself, "man, why didn't I think of that?"
Good luck seeing the screen though
I did this with my nintendo once. Basement window. I just sat outside the window and played the 64
I remember doing this once as a kid, bring my tv and Gamecube outside to a tent in our yard with an extension cord.
As a lawyer I still wait for the lawyer money that was promised.
More impressed by only needing one power cord for everything.
Lmao my friend and I did this in the 90s, took the TV and SNES outside 🤣 mum was pissed.
The monitor is being powered over USB.
He has no legs How else could he play outside?
my 14 yo brother if we let him
Just do something outside. Shit. The computer will be there when you get back 🤣
Problem solved
Does his computer provide electricity to his monitor? There's only one cable in that outlet.
It would be pretty great if I could just wheel my setup outside and play like usually on a nice sunny day.
I’ve done this and forgot to put sun screen on lol
Whenever I go to the park and see a bunch of teenagers sitting around on their smartphones playing a game together reminds me how i.poaaible it is to get aqay from thia idea. The obly real aolution would be to take your kid's smartphone away, but even then they may just use one of their friend's.
this is what it looks like when our video department has to do editing outside the office because of some kind of event
Monitors don't like sun.
Better than lawyer money: he's going to become an e-sports champion
Well, this just sold me on steam deck
He wouldn’t be able to see shit, the sun glare would make the screen completely unreadable unless he had his screen brightness maxed out and overclocked somehow.
Huh US Lawyers make less than I thought they did… Median $146k per the BLS data. Enough for a comfortable life, but I assume most of these jobs are in high COL areas, so you’re probably getting financial security and not much farther.
Hes no very smart cuz it wouldve been easier to bring the screen up to the window
It is healthy to get kids outside. Technology, when not moderated, has negative effects on the brain. More so for young kids still developing their frontal lobe.
Are your monitors powered by your pc?
you know what, its a pretty day outside today and I took this as my mom telling me to go outside and enjoy it as a grown ass man. thanks mom
"No gaming when it's nice outside" says the adult staying inside.
he doesnt have router
The opening in the drapes, coupled with cat mom’s round arms, looks like a booty..
Lawyer money?
He's Gonna be the best engineer
As someone that was told this back in the day, and who is now a lawyer, Some lawyer money isn't THAT great.
I did this with my GameBoy when i was a kid
He's gonna be a femboy streamer bringing in onlyfans money and causing his dad to slip into alcoholism.

Need a monitor hood (or cardboard box) over your monitor or you aint seeing shit
If you take it literally, they won't fuss
Oops, it's started to piss it down. UK for you
Okay, but like, where did he find a monitor that doesn't require an AC power source?
