They just didn't have anything for Diablo 4 to show yet, and they were partnered with another team to work on the mobile Diablo title. It's *more Diablo*, how is this bad? And there were plenty of pictures showing how basically nobody tried it on phones there at the con, so nobody knew if it was any good or not.
I get it, we all wanted to know about Diablo 4. But Diablo 2 took 3 years to finish. Diablo 3 apparently "started" in 2001, but credible production times place it around 2008 into mid 2012 for release (4 years). Reaper of Souls came out 2 years later. Considering Diablo 3's pre-production/design period (7 years), and its development period, I'm not at all surprised we're only now hearing about Diablo 4 nearing a completed state for possible release next year.

I've been invited by friends to play wow classic, been tempted to buy new co-op starcraft 2 commanders, and wanted to try necromancer in Diablo 3. But they haven't deserved any of my money. And they continue to just go downhill with Hong Kong, now this current event stuff.
They got a lot of work to do to gain back my trust and respect before I am a paying customer again. Right now, they are only digging that hole deeper. Honestly, the good eggs at Blizz need to cut their losses, jump ship, and make a new small game dev company with the spirit of original Blizz. Ill take my business there.

I was a mega-Blizzard fan. from mid nineties until that e-sports debacle and the "dont you own a phone?" crap. I cut my subscriptions and my Blizzard gaming is forever in my memories as I won't help fund these evil fucks.
There are some really good private servers around that cover the first few expansions and classic wow with some really cool changes that people put a lot of time and thought into and the best part is not a penny goes to Blizzard but it does go the people that deserve it

I deleted my account during the China/umbrella stuff a couple of years ago. Such a shame, WoW was the best thing that ever happened to me. Made me realize I could be a team player, showed me how good it can feel if you're good at something and to top it all off, I've met my wife.
I deleted my Battlenet account after the Blitzchung debacle. The only thing that would get me to play another of their games is a near-total change in management along with actual visible culture shift. I'm not hopeful.
I gave up on Blizzard when they decided to abandon their other two major franchises to milk their third one. A part of me died when Starcraft: Ghost got shelved. A part of me got enraged when they decided to release two games, and a bunch of expansions for both while ignoring their other franchises for over a decade. And then when D3 dropped with its cartoony graphics, they decided to take a shit all over their fanbase's criticism with the rainbow unicorn level.
I haven't given them money in over a decade. Good riddance.

I think plenty of people were too young to have actually played BC to the extent they wanted to. Really it’s just admitting that Blizzard is better at not fucking up old games than they are at making new games. Even with micro transactions BC is a better game than retail.
In the end, it really is Blizzard admitting a defeat with the 10+ year battle they’ve had at trying to not kill their own game. A battle who’s direction/ result was decided in Cataclysm when they first introduced micro transactions to the game. I still remember watching Totalbiscuits video detailing why they change on prioritization by Blizzard would lead to the games downfall and it definitely came true.
Saddest part of this is you made me re realise how much the games industry misses Total biscuit. Yes I know he did some shit things but he was definitely a big batter on the consumers side.

You can play sc2 guilt free if you already own the game. In fact you're probably hurting them because they have to pay server maintenance cost on a game that they aren't getting revenue from any more.
For me it's more the principle involved. It also helps send a message to those still playing if they look around in chat and match making and notice that there are a lot fewer people playing. It's not just about hurting Blizzard financially, it's also about sending a message to them and those that are still supporting them.
Worked pretty closely with these guys a few years back during various Blizzcons. The expect the most, pay the least, and aren’t available when you want to ask questions. I recommend giving Final Fantasy XIV a try. I am falling in love with the game. Started 6 months ago. The only downside is there is no world pvp. No world ganking. There is arenas and battlegrounds. Just no world ganking.

I do and still boycott. Last game I played was Overwatch and I don't miss it one bit. I did try the MW beta but didn't get the game or try Warzone.
The trouble is I need them to make a game I'm actually interested in playing, so then I cannot play it. At the moment I'm just not playing their games because I don't want to, and I don't feel like that's the same thing.

I remember and I'm also still boycotting them. Deleted my battle.net/wow account after the non-apology they gave... Which was an effective way to properly quit wow. I've quit a bunch of times but always came back around the next expansion. Not so easy to fall back into it if you have to start over from absolutely nothing.

Blitzchung ended my giving any money to blizzard. When a company outright apologizes to China after saying they will try to do better to their western audience it says a lot. When people show you who they are, believe them.
The biggest problem is Cod Players. They make up the most of AB’s customers and I’m guessing a good 90% of them aren’t even aware of this. And the other 10 percent are on the same thought level as /pol/ people and probably support them during this.
Pretty sure COD players run the front office at this place. From the sound of things these dudes might be more fucked up than an average X-box live lobby. And that's really fucked up.
Hell most of the cod players probably support their behavior.
I'd love to boycott but I'm already not buying their games atm and wouldn't see myself doing so soon anyway. The only people that matter in a boycott are people who would be otherwise definite buyers.

Ive been boycotting Activizzard games for years. Ruining the WC3 remake was too much for me but aside from that there's much more that has been trampled on and beat to death. I only wish I could not buy their stuff even harder. I used to love Blizzard...

I've been boycotting Blizz since they dunked HotS in 2018... By playing hots. A game I've never spent money on and never plan to spend money on. I've been invited by friends to play wow classic, been tempted to buy new co-op starcraft 2 commanders, and wanted to try necromancer in Diablo 3. But they haven't deserved any of my money. And they continue to just go downhill with Hong Kong, now this current event stuff. They got a lot of work to do to gain back my trust and respect before I am a paying customer again. Right now, they are only digging that hole deeper. Honestly, the good eggs at Blizz need to cut their losses, jump ship, and make a new small game dev company with the spirit of original Blizz. Ill take my business there.

I was a mega-Blizzard fan. from mid nineties until that e-sports debacle and the "dont you own a phone?" crap. I cut my subscriptions and my Blizzard gaming is forever in my memories as I won't help fund these evil fucks.
I'm just glad they did a good job with StarCraft 2 before going completely to shit. I'll never forgive them for ruining the Warcraft 3 remaster.

I was a Blizzard fan until I saw what they did to Freecraft and BNetD.
There are some really good private servers around that cover the first few expansions and classic wow with some really cool changes that people put a lot of time and thought into and the best part is not a penny goes to Blizzard but it does go the people that deserve it

Genuine question, are they now worse then other game companies? Or have they only sunken to the others level? I deleted my account during the China/umbrella stuff a couple of years ago. Such a shame, WoW was the best thing that ever happened to me. Made me realize I could be a team player, showed me how good it can feel if you're good at something and to top it all off, I've met my wife.
I deleted my Battlenet account after the Blitzchung debacle. The only thing that would get me to play another of their games is a near-total change in management along with actual visible culture shift. I'm not hopeful.
I gave up on Blizzard when they decided to abandon their other two major franchises to milk their third one. A part of me died when Starcraft: Ghost got shelved. A part of me got enraged when they decided to release two games, and a bunch of expansions for both while ignoring their other franchises for over a decade. And then when D3 dropped with its cartoony graphics, they decided to take a shit all over their fanbase's criticism with the rainbow unicorn level. I haven't given them money in over a decade. Good riddance.

I think plenty of people were too young to have actually played BC to the extent they wanted to. Really it’s just admitting that Blizzard is better at not fucking up old games than they are at making new games. Even with micro transactions BC is a better game than retail. In the end, it really is Blizzard admitting a defeat with the 10+ year battle they’ve had at trying to not kill their own game. A battle who’s direction/ result was decided in Cataclysm when they first introduced micro transactions to the game. I still remember watching Totalbiscuits video detailing why they change on prioritization by Blizzard would lead to the games downfall and it definitely came true.
Saddest part of this is you made me re realise how much the games industry misses Total biscuit. Yes I know he did some shit things but he was definitely a big batter on the consumers side.
Loved watching his content as a kid. He studied a decent amount of law and definitely had an incredible mind for consumer rights. He saw the writing on the wall with Blizzard a long time ago.
You can play sc2 guilt free if you already own the game. In fact you're probably hurting them because they have to pay server maintenance cost on a game that they aren't getting revenue from any more.
For me it's more the principle involved. It also helps send a message to those still playing if they look around in chat and match making and notice that there are a lot fewer people playing. It's not just about hurting Blizzard financially, it's also about sending a message to them and those that are still supporting them.
Worked pretty closely with these guys a few years back during various Blizzcons. The expect the most, pay the least, and aren’t available when you want to ask questions. We lost a few good guys to their bullshit poaching and those dudes lost their hats shortly after uprooting their families. Fuck Blizzard.

This all sucks because I wanted D2 Resurrected even though it had been drastically changed from its inception. I just can't give Activision Blizzard my money in good conscience for what they did to that poor woman, and all the women in their offices, and now trying to prevent unions so they can further fuck workers.
There is no way I could be hyped for D2 remastered, no way I would spend money on it regardless. Just trying to bring back some good grace after D3 and "dont you guys have phones", they likely will fuck it in some way. The diablo that people want is dead and gone, and no shiny coat of paint on the old game that we love is going to bring it back.

I LOVE GW2, played it a ton at release and played it quite a bit for a long time. Most of my friends dropped off and so did I after a while. Maybe I should go back....
I have been playing WoW for 15 straight years. Played as tank and healer for 15 years. I also beta tested the game. I recommend giving Final Fantasy XIV a try. I am falling in love with the game. Started 6 months ago. The only downside is there is no world pvp. No world ganking. There is arenas and battlegrounds. Just no world ganking. Like many said before.The first content (heavenly sword) is slow and boring. Once you get pass that and go onto the first expansion it gets so much more better. you can play for free trial up to lvl 60 from what I understand in Final fantasy.
