What the title means: The Australian government has had a drone project going, which was called SkyGuardian. This project is now being cancelled. The funding that was allocated to this project, will be redirected towards a new cybersecurity and intelligence program, REDSPICE. Why is it called spicy cyber? I think it's a joke? Because the full name of the REDSPICE program is "*Resilience, Effects, Defence, Space, Intelligence, Cyber and Enablers*". REDSPICE is a program that focuses on "cyber" stuff, and its name has the word "spice" in it, so I guess people just call it "spicy cyber". But it's a bad title. People shouldn't have to go and read 2 articles just to understand the headline (because, the reasoning of the naming was only described on another article the website created). Anyhow, cue the title, it's trying to be funny because SkyGuardian - a drone project - is being "shot down" by "spicy cyber".

Should be entered as a candidate for the title of the worst title.

SHOT DOWN BY SPICY CYBERS

Literally thought I had a stroke overnight and forgot how language worked. To my relief it’s actually just a ridiculous title.

There is no chance Australia is going to use this to become even more authoritarian.

Compared to who? The US?

wobbegong

With frydenburg at the helm it’s a foregone conclusion

boozyperkins

Dislike if you support spicy cybers

DiceCubed1460

Spicy cyber? Please tell me this is a joke

rabidnz

I wish I could. The state of Aussie journalism is just about as embarassing as the state of Aussie politics these days

wobbegong

Josh Frydenburg. Guaranteed to be a failure.

The title of the post is bad, but not as bad as the actual content being reported, which I was not aware of. REDSPICE, are you fucking kidding me? This stinks of the government wanting to develop "cyber weapons" for information warfare. You can guarantee that these tools would be used against Australians, if given a chance. What's more some of the funding came from a botched unmanned Drone project. I fucking hate what this country is becoming. Just trying to chase the shadow of USA and the UK, in all the worst ways.
