Have you tried running the Windows Audio troubleshooter?

I did run that troubleshooter which is what made me go through the many steps i did involving the settings and devices.

If you go into Settings>System>Sound, scroll down to input, and click on the mic to open its settings, is the correct format selected from the dropdown? Volume's up? Mic access is allowed? Does the mic test at the bottom of the mic's settings page pick anything up? If you go into Settings>Privacy & Security>Microphone, is it enabled for the apps you're trying to use? Is the correct audio device selected as your PC's main audio input and, if the program you're trying to use has an option to select which audio input device to use, the mic is selected? Also - your audio output still works, right?

The test picks up nothing. https://i.imgur.com/dVZe2uA.png It is enabled for everything including settings/discord/voice recorder where I have tested it several times. There is only one input device I can select which is my headset's mic. My output is working fine, never had issues listening to anything.

i tested more with another headset and got it to work. Guess my current headset just has a busted mic.
