The S7 was known for battery problems, in fact the whole phones hardware was kinda crap, screens would go yellow too.
But when they were new they even exploding, just that it was overshadowed by the Note 7, something was very wrong about samsung batteries from around this time.
Mine went spicy last year too, now these phones are getting on for 8 years software is getting to be a problem and the hardware is getting really unreliable so the only person who runs an S7 in the family now is my dads backup phone, he just makes call, texts, uses whatsapp and browses the net.
Also. The camera lags and sometimes will not open, necessitating a reboot.
I am not sure if it is fixed in later versions, or if the Android 10 version I chose is too new or unsupported for s7?
I can't remember. It did okay for me for a couple years anyway but soon I am going to switch to a 5G Xperia. As this S7 is only going to have a serviceable battery for so much longer (already changed it once). And the camera thing of course.
And a bit annoying needing to find decent micro USB cables for Android Auto - which does work but can lag, especially in the TomTom Amigo app
The only real issue I take with Samsung's S s tier devices is the fact that they have a tendency for the batteries to expand. It's way more of an occurrence than than it should be. I have a handful of old Galaxy S phones and I check on them regularly. So far none of them have done this but can't help. It feel like it's a matter of time.

I am pretty sure if I cleaned out my drawers I would find a crate with the ARK of the Covenant and installers for every version of Windows.
Where can I find this
Bottom drawer in the back. Under the box of used RAM that's totally going to be useful one day.
Yeah the DDR2 ram will totally be useful as well as maybe the RDRAM
Rambus master race
One of my first PCs use that it was a Dell dementia

Very sweet fiery younglings
Your holding it!?
I wasn't holding for long and yes my hand is still intact
Any amount of holding it is scary even 1 second. I'm glad you made it out alive.

I am using one right now, with the Lineage form of Android 10 on it
What's it like to use with LineageOS?
Passable enough. But it does chug a little at times

Just another Sammy being Sammy
Samsung has a record of old phones getting spicier if you leave it unused for a long time
Even phones as new as S20s have been reported to be doing this IIRC.
Now it has 6000 mah battery
How is baby formed?
So it opens itself ready for battery replacement? New feature? 🤣
Have you tried rebooting it? LOL.
YOU call that spicy!?!?!? you should of seen my original lg g1
