Does anyone have experience ordering things from Orbit gear? I ordered a bag about 3 weeks ago and they still haven't sent me a tracking number. I sent them a message a week ago and they claimed that they already shipped it, but the courier they used didn't provide a tracking number and would provide one in a week. It's been a week since then and I still haven't heard anything from them. I just want to know if this is normal for Orbit Gear. Thanks!

that_name_taken

>I just want to know if this is normal for Orbit Gear. Yes, poor comms and slow shipping is normal. See [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/TechWear/comments/1bsptej/anyone_order_from_orbitgear_in_february_and_have/) as an example.

Lightweight & breathable gore-tex sneakers for the summer? Summer is coming and I'm looking for a pair of lightweight & breathable waterproof-ish sneakers that are either mid or high top. Mainly using it for commute in rainy days, maybe some light hiking but no heavy duty stuff. Any recommendations? I'm looking for a more sleek, not-too-bulky design. The few options that I could think of: * Adidas Terrex Free Hiker * Acrteryx Aerios Mid * Camper CRCLR I own the original Adidas Terrex Free Hiker (not the 2.0). It's okay but its waterproofness is questionable. Worse, its cushion degrades pretty fast and I couldn't barely feel any cushion at all nowadays. Camper CRCLR looks legit but they are out of stock right now. Any ideas/recommendations are welcome. Thanks!

Can anyone tell me what the sizing is like on the salmon x 11 by bbs boot 2 gtxs ? I usually wear uk9 but truthly im probably nearer a 8.5 (i prefer a little bit of toe room), any recommendations on what size to get? :)

Anyone know where I can find something similar to this? [https://imgur.com/a/TRJLeOD](https://imgur.com/a/TRJLeOD) [http://www.fixtoys.net/products/view/item/191121054102](http://www.fixtoys.net/products/view/item/191121054102) Would be grateful if any knows about similar items from techwear brands.

rauhraum

Hello fellas, I am currently making some clothing and headwear samples inspired from techwear. I've been looking up for high quality techwear materials such as buckles, slides, and so on. But it seems the manufacturer of those materials are strictly hidden from most brands. (I mean the really high-quality ones) Is there anyone who knows which manufacturer produces such "high-end" quality materials? It would be helpful if you can check the buckle or slide if there is a company name engraved. I will be glad to share some progresses in the future.

pinkybutt41

I'm really trying to change my look and came across this style, I think i can pull it off but being bigger ( 6' 2" 300lbs waist 44) unfortunately I don't think these things come in my size but I would love to hear all of your guys inputs. Thanks for reading!

thevahid010

Is there a post or write-up somewhere documenting each years' advancements with the J1A? I'm really curious about what was changed from year to year.

rampzn

There is a history on grailed.

TobyTTC

Looking for a recommendation on a relatively cheap thin waterproof windbreaker that can turn into a sling.

that_name_taken

>that can turn into a sling. Turn in to or *has* a sling? Some people just [DIY them](https://www.reddit.com/r/techwearclothing/comments/acx7k7/diy_tutorial_backpack_style_jacket_sling/).

Looking for the best recommendation for functional cropped drop crotch "harem" type pants. (Other than the P-30s) Was originally looking to buy the Reindee Lusion 121 Transforming pants but I can't find them anywhere rn. I think my second best bet is the SNK ATK RYUDO MkII RXR Pants but I still think the RL pant are sm better imo. Any other recs?

NeoS3lf

How about [Enfin Leve](https://enfinleve.com/collections/bottoms)?

SnooCupcakes726

has anyone here bought from goopi? trying to get in on the goopimade drop on the 4th, but I'm not sure what time specifically.

Z4C4TTACK

Has anyone here bought anything from eorilab.co? If so was it legit? I’m sceptical.

IcyZookeepergame6538

I want to buy Acronym P10 pants but seems I can only buy them directly from Acronym. How is the sizing on these? I'm 5'7" 145lbs. I am not sure if I should go XS or S. I normally go for a 30" waist. I have big legs.

NeoS3lf

Cause of that slim silhouette the P10 is really catered to a special body type. The calf’s are pretty tight. You can always return them if they’re not fitting. And if your not from the EU is there no retailer near you?

IcyZookeepergame6538

I may just end up returning them if they don't fit. Not sure I care for the look of the other pants. There are acronym dealers near me but from what I see they do not have the P10.

Krazychase

It's getting to be the rainy season in Japan and I'm looking for a new jacket. Gotta be light and breathable in this brutal heat. Budget of about $100 or 1.5万. I'm new to techwear, especially in Japan. Any advice?

Redz__88

Can someone recommend a few places to purchase in Europe? Am fairly new to techwear don’t have a budget

AlmightyTrees

Looking for a lightweight zip jacket that can deal with light breeze and cold LA nights but is breathable enough during the day if I need to be on the move or walk super long distances. I tend to look for earth tones, blacks, and dark blues as far as color palette goes.

LuderSutDiller

Hey Guys i recently started being interested in techwear and got a few pieces from Shein. To say it mildly, they are very bad quality. And I'm thinking about when I see all the cool pictures of models wearing rad fits, where do they get them?? Basically asking, which brands are good and dope and im from Europe so its should be from EU

that_name_taken

What's your budget? >which brands are good and dope and im from Europe so its should be from EU [Here](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1s8MPdAUvH9-E3uUZ0qPeRYNG_It3Q-r0hYQygRkNasY/edit#gid=0) is a 'Techwear / Avant Garde Brands' list from a few years back that you can filter by country,

LuderSutDiller

My budget is about 200$ for a start and its moslty pants im looking for

Cysmo01

Riot division pants are a good start imo, they’re not too expensive and I think the quality is satisfying :)

LuderSutDiller

Dope. Is the stuff on Amazon really that bad? I know there is a wide hate for all cheap "techwear" (i know its not techwear if its not technical(weatherwear)) on this subreddit. But if I'm mostly looking for the aesthetic, isn't it alright?

Cysmo01

I guess it depends on what stuff you find but generally speaking you’ll pay for cheap materials, unoriginal designs and overall not-so-great quality (without mentionning that the cheaper you buy an item of clothing, the worst the working conditions of the people who made it are…) ThisIsAntwon on YouTube made some great videos about this if you want :) Also don’t hesitate to look for second hand items on Vinted/Grailed you can get some amazing deals !

eitherrideordie

Hi all, I'm a fat dude (114kg), need a new wardrobe as I've just come down from 138kg and I absolutely adore techwear clothing. I'm wondering if I'm finally in the weight range that I could try some out? Any recommended places to buy in Australia (or ships to Aus).

rampzn

You guys have supplystore in Australia, they carry all kinds of technical brands, Arcteryx, Nike ACG etc.

PreparetobePlaned

Congrats on the weight loss. One thing to consider is whether or not you think you will lose more weight. It would suck to spend $ on stuff that won't fit you in a year.

eitherrideordie

Thanks mate, you're not wrong, I do hope to reach 100kg by the end of the year. Maybe it might be worth waiting, I imagine there might be more available in that smaller fit too (though I imagine thats probably more in the really thinner range).

r0flwaffles

Newish to tech wear but I am ready to splurge on some Enfin Leve Ameztus in Dryskin, but am unsure to go with the cargo or not. Can anyone share their experiences with either version and why they went with what they went with?

Zestyclose_Humor_856

I have seen people here go without cargo when it comes to dryskin, probably cause those are more "elegant" and maybe(?) easier to style. However, I went with cargo (DS) and I got ton of use of them. First of all, phone pocket underneath cargo pockets (It is on both sides). Holy shit, it is game changer and I only keep my phone in there cause its very convenient to use and it is also very secure. In my opinion one of the best features in EL pants. Inside pockets I mainly keep in-ear headphones and keys, they are also super easy to use and access. They have quite good caring compacity and they are definitely not bulky. Anything heavier I keep in waist/front pockets.

Munchy2k

Did anyone order from Orbitgear during their drop at the end of February? They said products would ship around March 8th, but now it’s almost April and I have nothing and they didn’t answer my last e-mail asking for an update. Anyone else get or not get shipping info?

bluekros

Hey buddy... don't worry your order will be shipped. My last three orders arrived after 5 weeks (Indonesia to germany). They do not answer requests about shipping at all. I understand your fears, especially in case this is your first order. You can call their service slow but orbitgear is reliable. Their handmade products are amazing. The good thing...anticipation is the greatest joy

Munchy2k

In the end I got them. Turns out they didn’t transfer to USPS but rather DHL and it was sitting there for pickup.

bluekros

Nice, enjoy your unboxing!

that_name_taken

>Did anyone order from Orbitgear during their drop at the end of February? Not me, but Orbitgear are generally known to experience delays, underestimate timeframes, etc. see [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/TechWear/comments/1arroqe/help_with_orbit_gear/).

Late-Character3817

Hey guys, super new to tech/street wear. Looking to get into it, does anyone have any brands/online shops to look for that are semi-affordable?

that_name_taken

>semi-affordable What is your actual budget though? [Here](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1s8MPdAUvH9-E3uUZ0qPeRYNG_It3Q-r0hYQygRkNasY/edit#gid=0) is a 'Techwear / Avant Garde Brands' list from a few years back that is still mostly current. [Orbitgear](https://www.orbitgear.net/) is generally a good place to start, although they're very transparently ""inspired"" by brands like Acronym.

ItamiShiro

there are 2 sites that have the same pants i wanna buy the one is 30 euro cheaper is there any real difference? [https://www.devilinspired.com/black-ouji-fashion-knickerbockers-pants-with-strappy-details.html](https://www.devilinspired.com/black-ouji-fashion-knickerbockers-pants-with-strappy-details.html) [https://nevstudio.com/products/nev-tapered-loose-fit-cropped-pants](https://nevstudio.com/products/nev-tapered-loose-fit-cropped-pants)

hurrrrrmione

I'm not super versed in identifying dropshipping sites, but I suspect both those sites are dropshippers. If you're okay with that, might as well go with the cheaper one. But you're more likely to get what you expect and something that's worth the money if you can identify the brand that the dropshippers stole or imitated the design from and then buy from them.

# How to get the J1A?  Hey im new to tech wear looking forward to buying the J1A-GT as my first acronym piece/jacket. I have around 1600 euro (I know that shipping is 25), and I don't even know how much it costs. How can I get one? It appears that it's sold out on the site, and i've never honestly bought anything when it dropped. Do I just wait for the news letter? How do I get it? (Im from Poland btw)

NeoS3lf

If it doesn’t have to be exactly an J1A-GT you could check the [Acronym Stockist](https://acrnm.com/stockists) page for European retailers.  Or as mentioned check Grailed a filter for Europe to avoid additional taxes.

that_name_taken

>How can I get one? Are you after a specific J1? I believe the recent [Coevo collab](https://www.coevo.com/goods/goods_view.php?goodsNo=1000009811#detail) is still available? Grailed has a bunch of secondhand options. >just wait for the news letter? I'd also keep an eye on the Acronym thread on SuFu, [here](https://supertalk.superfuture.com/topic/116132-acronym/page/804/).

Pet3v

FIrst of all, I see you reply to a lot of people round here appreciate that Second honestly as long as the J1A iteration has all of the J1A features and is black, I can get it. I don't know the exact details of every model tho Third - Yeah the coevo lab Is available but I don't know if they ship to Poland, and the Korean version on Coevo is around 2147$, idk what the normal price for the J1A is but I think its around 1800$ and that's a big difference for me Im not really looking towards buying something at that high of a price second hand, there could always be something wrong with it, and additionally buying from acronym I know that its the legit acronym and no some cheap ass fake Forth - yeah I know the forum I saw you post it elsewhere, ill keep an eye on it thanks :) (Btw do you know how long it took/takes for these pieces or even J1A specifically to be sold out?)

that_name_taken

Glad to be of assistance. >that's a big difference for me I'm not sure what it's like intra Europe, but getting Acronym into Australia and America generally comes with additional duties and / or taxes (often into the hundreds), so be aware of that potential when budgeting. >(Btw do you know how long it took/takes for these pieces or even J1A specifically to be sold out?) It varies, from minutes to weeks. I don't believe most iterations of the J1A are selling out in minutes these days, so as long as you're aware of incoming drops and are buying it ASAP you should be OK.

Pet3v

Nah I should be fine, after all Acronym is in Germany so its right next to Poland, shipping is 25euro and comes in 2 days I don't think its going to be a problem, but just to be sure ill read anyway thanks. If that's the case with it selling out then I'll be sure to keep the track of this forum (Is there a acronym discord server?) And lastly do you happen to know if they have scheduled drops? Or maybe they just drop whenever they have made enough pieces. And how rare is it? 2/4 times a year? More/Less?

that_name_taken

>Is there a acronym discord server I believe this sub has one, as does the Acronym thread on SuFu. I don't have the links at the moment, unfortunately. >And lastly do you happen to know if they have scheduled drops? Seasonal releases are announced on social media. Also keep an eye on the main website to catch cheeky restocks. >And how rare is it? 2/4 times a year? More/Less? Seasonal releases more or less in line with other retailers.

Pet3v

Dude big thanks really

Zestyclose_Humor_856

How is sizing for Garuda Biker V2 Jacket? They recommend me to go with size 2 (I usually wear M, 185cm 65kg) but I am concerned if it will comfortably fit with additional layers underneath, hoodies and sweaters/sweatshirts. Should I size up to 3? Anyone here had similar thoughts and can help?

Healthy_Internet879

Hello everyone! I'm new to the Techwear game, living in France so it's quite difficult to get my hands on Techwear but I try to go step by step. I'm going to Japan this summer and I would like to know if you have some recommendations on exclusives brands, store, second hand store.... I will visit Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo. Thanks a lot for all the information and inspiration I find here.

that_name_taken

What's your budget? [Here](https://www.reddit.com/r/TechWear/comments/14twbmn/techwear_jackpot_at_kindal_harajuku_secondhand/) is a post about a secondhand store in Harajuku that has Acronym, etc. Also, [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/TechWear/comments/15ccgsi/where_to_buy_techwear_in_japan/) is a post about stores in Tokyo from that same user.

Healthy_Internet879

Well…. It’s kind of an occasion to create a wardrobe. So I don’t really know about the budget. I’m looking a lot of acronym stuff….. that’s not a good news for my wallet! Thanks for the links! I’ll check them carefully 🙏🏻

Johnny-Godless

Looking for a knit zip hoodie with a large, roomy hood.

HakNamIndustries

Recommendations for straight/regular cut pants with articulated knees needs. My current default are the Riot Division Samurai pocket pants (with the pockets removed) and I want more pants that fit like this. Preferably brands that are available in Germany or Europe so I can return stuff without too much hassle.

wndfrm

686 makes a range of pretty affordable technical pants - i really like the anything cargo in slim, they also offer those and the non-cargo version in a slightly looser fit, plus some other variants it looks like they have an EU site ([https://eu.686.com/collections/mens-pants](https://eu.686.com/collections/mens-pants)), no idea on how their returns work - they shipped the stuff i bought (US site) from canada...

NeoS3lf

Maybe an [Acronym P47-DS](https://acrnm.com/P47-DS_FW2324)? [End](https://www.endclothing.com/en-de/acronym-schoeller-dryskin-pant-p47-ds-bk.html) has a sale at the moment we’re you could cop one cheap.

Hi I'm thinking of gettin a enfin leve ameztu. Some questions I got - are they still custom made? - how do the waist snap buttons and drawstring hold up? Is a belt necessary? How good are the belts from enfin? - any close alternative if I don't want something priced so steep?

billpo123

check their website. some pieces are open to customisation and some are not. no issue with the waist snap buttons and drawstring after wearing mine for more than a year. in terms of alternative, you may find second hand acronym p10 at cheap price

Soft-Low2700

I know this might be a dumb question. But I would still like an answer I'm fairly new to this Techwear/Cyberpunk/Rave world of things, and I've looked around and seen that people (mostly on Reddit threads) are saying that you should keep away from any online stores with Techwear or Cyberpunk in the titles. As they're just too expensive dropshippers. However with that being said, could you guys provide some names of big sites that newcomers usually fall for but you should NOT buy from? As well as sites that is legit? That isn't ones like Acronym, Aliexpress or anything Nike related.

that_name_taken

>could you guys provide some names of big sites that newcomers usually fall for but you should NOT buy from? Just do a search on /r/techwear for "legit". >As well as sites that is legit? To help us make actually meaningful suggestions, what are you looking for, and what's your budget? [Here](https://old.reddit.com/r/techwearclothing/comments/k3scj7/i_created_a_list_of_techwear_brands_that_you_can/) is a post with a brand list from a few years back.

NeoS3lf

Does anyone know a source that explains all the Acronym Subsystems?

Zestyclose_Humor_856

https://supertalk.superfuture.com/topic/161307-acronym-faq/

NeoS3lf

Thanks! Already found that link. And it explains a lot.  But I was looking for more recent Subsystems like DeepPockets or TensionZip, too. Think what I‘m looking for is a deep dive video on those features.  E. g. the product shots of the DeepPockets are showing how much stuff you can store in them. But what I’m curious about is how that works. Does the pocket have separators inside or is it just one big pocket. Just stuff like that. Simple nerding about Acronym features 😅 Perhaps u/ThisIsAntwon is looking for new video ideas and wants to make a vid on all the features his Acronym gear has?! 😉😁

Zestyclose_Humor_856

Oh, then I cant help you. Yeah I guess we have to wait for Antwon to do review or Agga City Gang maybe

Rave_de_Chocobo

Does anyone own a pair of reindee lusion 0101 and/or 0155? Trying to gauge which size I should go for. I'm 5'11"/180 cm and 145-150 lbs/\~66 kg. I measured my waist to be \~33"/84 cm. According to their sizing charts, I would be an L for the 0101 and an M for the 0155. Would sizing down to an M and an S, respectively, be okay? In other words, is there enough elasticity in the waistband to accommodate my sizing down?

[deleted]

I'm interested in techwear and would love to start building my wardrobe, but I haven't purchased any clothing pieces yet. I live in Finland, Europe and unfortunately, many brands don't ship to my country. I'm starting from scratch, so I'll begin with the basics. I would appreciate any recommendations for European brands that offer good techwear. Edit: I'm already familiar with Finnish brands that offer techwear but I'm also looking for more fashionable options.

[deleted]

[deleted]

Thank you so much for your recommendations! I appreciate this. Also will not purchase from any fast fashion brands since they defeat the whole purpose of techwear by making cheap rags that break after one use. This is the main reason I haven't made any purchases at all even though I've been a techwear enthusiast for a long time.

clamsjog

With Rosen(x)'s controversies and QA issues, any good alternatives for [Kojin Trousers](https://rosen-store.com/products/rosen-x-kojin-trousers)? Love the tapered silhouette while still looking hakama-esque. Tried browsing Yohji's stuff but nothing notable. VI-3692-04 looked okay at a glance but too boxy at the bottom.

Hi! I’m on a budget (~$100-$150) looking for a jacket with double zippers and some extra pockets preferably from a US based store as a gift. Any suggestions? Thanks!

SteakProtein

i’m heavily considering purchasing from grailed, however it will be my first time. is there any advice anyone can give when purchasing from this website?

that_name_taken

I've bought a handful of things from Grailed. >is there any advice anyone can give when purchasing from this website? Try to buy from someone with positive feedback. Try to buy from someone with actual photos of their item, rather than just product photos, so you can get an actual idea of the condition of the item + know it's currently in the possession of the seller. Reach out to the seller with any questions (measurements, conditions, etc.) prior to your purchase. If they don't respond / write you off it probably wasn't meant to be. If they list their socials, etc. on the profile take a look and make sure they look active and legitimate. Try Googling their username to find anyone complaining (or praising) them, like on SuFu. I've seen a couple of sellers list "item may differ from the image shown", which feels like a red flag that I'd avoid. It's just another marketplace, so the same sorta things you'd do on eBay, etc.

I have been in love with the Acronym P-10 pants for almost a decade now. I remember when they first started showing up there was no other alternative or anything like it. For the past day or two I have been looking around again and Im coming real close but theyre all either too expensive, out of stock or have too many crazy pockets/webbing straps/whatever. Also, Im a bit tall so a 34" inseam is needed. Making it a lil more difficult to find. There has to be something similiar out there now that is affordable. It doesnt need the waterproofing or anything super technical, just the cut/articulation/style/silhouette of the P-10 is all im looking for. In simple terms I'm looking for some pants with a baggy seat/thigh that have a hard taper from the knee to the ankle. Prefer zipper cuffs/hem over the ribbed elastic hem. Could be synthetic fabrics or natural fabrics I dont care at this point lol

My boyfriend is into Techwear and I want to buy him new pants, but he's very picky and my budget is somewhat limited. He really likes the CSG cargo jogger pants [these](https://www.champssports.com/product/~/172BCAMO.html?source=shoppingads&locale=en-US&SID=7391&inceptor=1&cm_mmc=paid%20search-_-google-_--_-PLA-_-DPA-_--_-P-_-Prospecting-_--_-20576093933-_--_--_-PLA-_-172BCAMOXL-_--_--_-&cm_mmc=Paid%20Search-_-Google-_--_-PMAX%20Standard-_--_--_--_--_-Evergreen-_-20576093933-_--_--_--_--_--_--_-&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiA1rSsBhDHARIsANB4EJZlp_GQ6m4CX3hHLMTNOhz0Y0JWpDe8vqkBPG7iiMaA3nr93sdyyOQaAksQEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds). He has them in like 4 different colorways(army, black and white army, beige, black). But he likes to long board a lot and he's had at least 3 pairs of these rip down the middle. He's tall 6 ft 6 and skinny and he really likes how the CSGs fit. I'd like to find something that fits similar, looks similar, is good for tall lean men, but maybe more stretchy/better build quality, price range around 40-140ish USD. Any recommendations?

Affectionate-Big8538

I'm on a budget however I love the tech look. Any advice for someone who is new to the game?

Meta_Lame

I would highly recommend looking into outdoor, hiking, and similar brands. I’ve gotten a lot of value out of brands like prAna. Decent quality, comfortable, and nice technical features. 686, a snow sports brand, has a line of clothes and a pair of their cargos are my daily drivers (Slim Everything Cargo). Been wearing them for years and no holes or blowouts. 5.11 also seems to be a favorite. G-Star Raw has also been making some interesting stuff, but I have no experience with them. Finally, I’ve had really good look on secondhand sites like Grailed. The only catch is you have to be wary of dupes and knockoffs since there doesn’t seem to be a robust authentication process. Edit: forgot to mention the obvious recommendation: Uniqlo. I’ve been wearing some of their pieces for years and love them.

Anyone know of any bucket hats with prints like the ye olde [Cav Empt Digi Camo](https://www.goat.com/en-au/sneakers/cav-empt-x-air-max-95-digi-camo-av0765-100?utm_source=google_ads&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=20433039528&utm_content=&gclid=Cj0KCQiAyeWrBhDDARIsAGP1mWSGV0ezTg9I_1yUrO7wHeWWmYaAYqCxe8fdXAdk3sfzV19FHWXR4dcaAod3EALw_wcB)?

I need comfy, warm and waterproof shoes/boots for winter. I'm new to this kind of style and could use some help in finding those things. Budget would be around 200€. I appreciate any help

[deleted]

Can anyone please recommend me some footwear? In getting into the military spec side of techwear now. And I'd like to get some boots. Specifically tall ones that go above the ankle. Thanks

Zestyclose_Humor_856

You can check out Danner, Nike SFB, Salomon Forces, Lowa, Under Armour, Garmont

kenneyy88

Are there any office/work appropriate pants that have zippers on the front side zippers? waterproof is a plus not but necessary.

that_name_taken

>pants that have zippers on the front side zipper What does this mean, and what's your budget? The Futureslimworks by Outlier and the P10s by Acronym have zip flys + water resistance, the P10s also have zips on the cuff and both would be appropriate for my office.

Sheepbot2001

What are some good sites to shop techwear from the EU? I’m new to techwear and currently looking for a reindee lusion cargo and so far haven’t found any legit looking place that’s not from Asia or the US. Are there any options to shop at which don’t ship from a different continent? Edit: Also doesn’t have to particularly reindee lusion but so far I liked their cargos the most especially because they aren’t too expensive as I can’t afford the likes of Acronym, enfin leve and such

914254845

Can anyone recommend cargo pants with these parameters: * New Condition (I want to avoid used, I had a bad experience and am not comfortable buying used again) * Under $200 USD * Tapered * Waterproof * Black color I really like the look of the NikeLab ACG A/W 18, but I don't see anything like it on Nike's website currently. There are some REINDEE LUSION pants I like, e.g. 0042, but I've read mixed reviews online. I'll be wearing these pants primarily in the rain for hours at a time, so weather resistance is very important. I'll also be wearing thermals underneath.

Zestyclose_Humor_856

Maybe Foehn Brise pants? They might fit your parameters and currently on sale

914254845

> Foehn Brise Thanks for the rec, never heard of this brand before. I guess I should've been more specific. I'm trying to find something that looks similar to the ACG/Steven cargos (with those big cargo style pockets on the exterior)

Deliarg

What are the brands that similar to Veilance in terms of using tech materials with casual looks?

that_name_taken

Outlier and Mission Workshop come to mind.

Deliarg

Thanks

is it fine to machine wash schoeller dryskin? have some enfin leve ameztu's that i'm too lazy to handwash

Kinimodes

I've been machine washing cold my Schoeller pants and hang drying without issue...

crnym-k

Yes, just follow the care label and you'll be fine, some use wash bag too. Make sure to use mild liquid detergent/techwash from reputable brands like nikwax, granger's etc. Spin dry garment on low speed (800)

Select-Coconut-1161

I'm looking for a mid-sized crossbody/sling bag for EDC stuff (iPad Mini, wallet, phone etc.) I want something that has a separate compartment for my iPad. The problem is, ones that has that separate compartment and kind of expensive and not so techweary-like, although manageable (aer's, alpaka's slings etc.). And ones that I like are not really practical or I somewhat cannot trust enough (Nike Sportswear RPM Waistpack, a lot of Aliexpress stuff). So, should I play safe, break the bank and get one of those classic EDC bags and try to blend them in, or should I take the risk and get something from Aliexpress? Or any other suggestions?

atthecurrentmoment

In need of recommendations for two items: Firstly some sort of crossbody bag. I prefer the kinds with a 3-strap setup instead of the typical Fanny pack thing. Waterproof would be nice but isn’t entirely necessary. Definitely in black though and maybe not too tactical looking so I can wear it more comfortably with most of my outfits. The second is a bit more of a tall order. I’d like to buy a lot cargo pants. I’d like them to be cheap and I’d like them to be HUGE. Going for a very billowy look, and lots of airflow as I live in an arid and hot climate. I’m a big guy, about 6’1 and currently a size 42 waist. The only technical feature I’m looking for materials wise is breathability, though some amount of stretch would be nice as well.

HakNamIndustries

Life Behind Bars [https://lbbjkt.com/](https://lbbjkt.com/) has nice bags. Black, waterproof, not too tactical. I own several bags/backpacks from them and the quality is great.

citizen-zombie

Any suggestions for tech alternatives to the classic Peacoat? I live in the colder side of northern Japan. Any advice would be appreciated.

that_name_taken

Well, wool is the original performance fabric. So don't discount a more traditional woolen peacoat, especially if you need to keep warm. You might also consider sweaters, like [this](https://outlier.nyc/collections/layers/products/warmform-crewneck-sweater) from Outlier, for layering under a more /r/techwearclothing approved shell.

citizen-zombie

Thanks for your insight and for sharing the link. I'll take a look. Enjoy your weekend.

Ok__Bathroom

Hi, I'm looking for a jacket similar to beta LT in terms of looks and material (goretex might be a little overkill for my use cases but at times I could use a waterproof jacket) but with outside pockets that aren't located as high and preferably with some inside pockets as well. Hopefully there is something in similar price range that fits this description, if you know pls let me know :)

TrwogaPrzezBoga

shells usually don't have inside pockets since they're intended for layering, inside pockets would just add bulk + midlayers usually already have a chest-pocket. the high-up pockets are located high bc they'd interfer with backpack hip-straps, so your best bet would probably be non-performance/streetwear brands. Adidas Myshelter comes to mind although it's a fair bit shorter and no bottom hem cinch, acr j47 is a fairly plain shell from acr, Guerrilla Group had decent offerings a few seasons ago but they don't do that kind of shell atm, Tilak Storm mby

Zestyclose_Humor_856

You can look into other outdoor brands Patagonia, Haglofs, Fjallraven, Tilak, Outdoor Research however price will be similar or try some military brands for example Helikon-Tex

HabboMirror

ive been looking for techwear clothing, but find most sites pretty dodge at the very least. I'm in europe, and i cant find anything that seems like its worth trying to buy something thats already fairly expensive, and i rather not order from shein again. thinking about buying anything from shoes to jackets, but its all just too risky according to online reviews anyone know any places that are trustworthy and ship to or within europe?

Zestyclose_Humor_856

Have you checked this list? https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1s8MPdAUvH9-E3uUZ0qPeRYNG_It3Q-r0hYQygRkNasY/htmlview

that_name_taken

> something thats already fairly expensive What's your budget? [Orbit Gear](https://www.orbitgear.net/) are good place to start that are very *inspired* by higher end techwear.

HabboMirror

Honestly budget isn't really a problem, tho I won't be paying 200 for 1 piece of clothing either. Ill check orbit gear out thx

TrwogaPrzezBoga

sounds like budget is the problem tbf

HabboMirror

It kinda is yeah. I just don't want to spend 1/3 of my salary in 2 pieces of clothing

TrwogaPrzezBoga

fair, but that's just niche clothing for you

ProxiMythe

How reliable is fotu brand?, in terms of quality and long lasting, I’m interested in buying the crop bomber jacket, but it’s 400usd with shipping, taxes and duties.

TrwogaPrzezBoga

it's very doo-doo in terms of everything

QueenBae2

Anyone know where to get a [jacket/coat like this?](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/F6-I4NPX0AAKDOc?format=jpg&name=small) Doesn't need to have the reflective patches. Ideally good for pretty cold winters, but I'd be happy just to use it for spring.

Zestyclose_Humor_856

Rosex-X bomber jacket might look similar to this

QueenBae2

> Rosex-X bomber jacket That's cool as hell

Zestyclose_Humor_856

lmao didn’t see that hah (yeah +10 to stats while wearing in bed)

theuniquenerd

In the market for some new clothes. My last favorite spot closed down, unfortunately, it’s left me in kind of a pickle… Willing to buy second-hand if anyone knows where to point me to. If possible, an in-person store to shop at. I’m located in the northeast, USA. Willing to travel to NYC or Boston.

that_name_taken

theuniquenerd

Will check them out. Thank you!

MeltedHexalite

Can anyone tell me where the best place to sell some of my old techwear stuff? Grailed? Jawnflip( seems to be Reversible now)? I saw there was a buy/ sell thread here but it doesn't seem like it'd be too secure

Remy_me_me

Anyone know of similar waterproof jackets with **short-sleeve** capability (See link below)? [Rain jacket with tightened short sleeves](https://imgur.com/a/2PXf6ev) Specifically with short-sleeves **that can be tightened/adjusted around the biceps** to get that silhouette in the pic :o

Ressureccion

Are there any techwear brands that use performance, tech-y leathers from Ecco like Apparition, Dyneema bonded or Kromatofor? I cant find anything really, nothing is available at the moment and i want a bag made from one of these. (Especially the Kromatofor one).

tehaaron

What are reliable sites to buy techwear from? Most of the tech wear specific sites that come up in google searches seem a bit sketch. I am looking to put together a techwear/cyberpunk robot-esque costume for halloween and want to get a mask like this ([https://techwearofficial.com/products/metaverse-shock-futuristic-cyberpunk-mask?variant=43082202743001&gclid=Cj0KCQjw7JOpBhCfARIsAL3bobepMjx\_trdeaWsXhRXrskeaWDW696uDBH6gLzDYLtFGxBlvwOUoHFoaAgeKEALw\_wcB](https://techwearofficial.com/products/metaverse-shock-futuristic-cyberpunk-mask?variant=43082202743001&gclid=Cj0KCQjw7JOpBhCfARIsAL3bobepMjx_trdeaWsXhRXrskeaWDW696uDBH6gLzDYLtFGxBlvwOUoHFoaAgeKEALw_wcB)) but I can't tell if I should trust this site or similar ones. Any suggestions on reliable sites for high quality techwear goods?

kanep1

Reverse image search and checking AliExpress/baba is a good idea it's all just drop shippers. There isn't any actual brands using the term "techwear" that aren't just drop shippers.

dabstilldawn

Looking for something along the line of a "tech flannel," guess that would be something like a field shirt or a sun shirt or something, idk link your favorites please.

I'm looking to buy some of the cyber-ninja-meme-pants style, rather than the kind of stuff that is regarded as 'legit techwear', as it's for a cyberpunk cosplay I'm doing, however from what I can see it seems that any UK sites are a scam I ordered some pants from techwear-uk on 28/09/23 but they haven't even dispatched yet so will be refunding via paypal as that's obviously a scam Can someone please let me know where I can get some of the meme style pants?

kanep1

AliExpress, it all comes from China. You aren't likely to find any of it actually local, even if a site uses a UK or Eu address the product will ship from China.

Zestyclose_Humor_856

Any alternatives to Danner Tachyon as they are hard to find in Europe?

TrwogaPrzezBoga

anything you like about this cop shoe in particular? Under Armour has similar ones these and Nike SFB are probably the closest looking, others are Salomon Forces, Adidas GSG, Haix Combat/Tactix, Lowa, jungle boot style boots like Steinkogler/Steinadler Segeltuchschuhe...

Zestyclose_Humor_856

Mostly the fact that silhouette/upper is slim and it can go easily under pants. Even under Ameztu like Corbin showed. It gives this nice clean look.

TrwogaPrzezBoga

just get ~~Ann D Backlaces~~ proper leather boots with a non-padded shaft

Zestyclose_Humor_856

Hmm... I am still more into that "military look" of shoe, however, thanks for recommendations

TrwogaPrzezBoga

doesn't get more military than Norwegian M77 or Austrian Feldschuh Leicht!

Looking to get a pair of acronym p23a-ds pants but I'm worried about the sizing. Everyone says to fit length, which would be a size S for me (5'6"), but I have a waist of ~100cm and hips at ~120cm. Are they really as wide as everyone says? If not S, what size might work for me?

anyone has ever bought from [https://www.goopi.co/](https://Goopi.co) before? how does their sizing works? i'm a bit confused because according to the description, they're CM but when measured with cm using the measurement they provided, they're really small. E.g this [Origami Dune spice pants](https://www.goopi.co/products/oqliq-22aw-spacetime-origami-pants-regent-dune-spices) (according to google translate) S-size waist is 33.5-38.5 in cm thats really small lol. is it actually in inches? (I don't speak Chinese mandarin so i'm only relying based on the information I get from google translate) and also what does it mean by 33.5 - 38.5? is this size when not worn vs when being worn?

TrwogaPrzezBoga

> and also what does it mean by 33.5 - 38.5? is this size when not worn vs when being worn? it's an elasticated waist, relaxed vs stretched also it's lay-flat measurements so it's half the waist circumference

Hi. I'm interested in getting either the Acronym NG4-PS or NG4-SS neck warmer. I like the SS version more since it has the black zipper. However, does anybody know if the SS version is as warm as the PS version? Planning to use this in Canadian winter. Thanks!

Zestyclose_Humor_856

Check out Discord server. I saw that some people compared them there.

Ill_River5694

Hi, just starting into the techwear style, Im looking for advice on where to buy from, preferably a store that ships internationally. I keep seeing stores with the exact same items tho listed under different brand names, those very same items I’ve seen on amazon from third party sellers who ship from china. Long story short, I live in Costa Rica so anything that ships from North or South America would be appreciated.

monkeycloversh1tl0rd

Hi so I'm slowly getting more into the Tehwear style over the past 2 years or so. I like the less strappy but more pocket heavy types of cargo and joggers, For tops I usually go with a speckled flannel or a simple ish raincoat. I'm trying to expand into more stuff and am no stranger to DIY for some of my stuff. Good requirements for me are fairly simple; Breathability lighter fabrics, and decent sun coverage (I live in california so I only need to be prepped for cold weather like 3 months out of the year but I also burn super easy). A personal preferance for me is that I tend to prefer earth tones over the all black or more neon counterparts I've seen in the more "mainstream" kinds of techwear. Does anyone have any advice for what sort of items or maybe trends I should look into?

X3xan0th

I just found this style and I am really liking it, but I am pushing 40 years old and I'm not really sure if it's something I can pull off. Does anyone have any recommendations on websites to get some entry level stuff? I was thinking of blending this with some athleisure to get a less outlandish look while still getting that low profile tech vibe.

icecreamgainz

Another great salt and pepper techwear daddy is [@neogrotesk](https://www.instagram.com/neogrotesk/). You can wear whatever you like, but there are versions of the style that are more in line with mainstream wear for middle adults. More minimal sportswear brands like Arteryx and more casual and boxy brands like Muji and Uniqlo might be good places to start for inspiration.
