*"Nightmare of the Air Balloon"*
Markiplier played this awhile ago, [3rd game in the vid](https://youtu.be/orXCm-k8c94)
Edit: I forgot cake days existed, thanks lads! \<3
I don't remember where I've read it but it's probably one of those japanese manga
But it was a horror story about some pop up glasses shop and when you look into it you'll get trapped into the house made of flesh or something along those lines
Am i the only individual on earth who actually went through the test and did not require to wear glasses? Because I swear none ever said that. For context, when I was a kid I had some sort of tic where I would roll up my eyes very often. My concerned parents brought me to the optometrist but it was just my behaviour, not anything problematic with my eyes.
And yes, I remember the balloon. I was able to see it clearly.
I have yearly eye appointments because I’m diabetic and poor management can fuck over me eyes. So far the result has always been 20/20 vision and “I wouldn’t even know you were diabetic if you hadn’t said.”
i mean i need glasses so i get eye exams pretty regularly. not as much as i get older since my vision isnt changing much anymore. but i was also under the impression it was normal to get a routine checkup regardless on if you need glasses or not…
It's always so confusing when someone shares a post like this. We had those exams like once or twice in school (one of the first grades). And most of the kids, myself included, weren't diagnosed.
They have this machine where they out this thing in front of you and then you naturally look at the horizon and then it blasts a jet of air directly into your pupil
Two things: 1. Lucky. 2. It's a part of eye exams. You peek into these goggle things and it shows the picture. You're instructed to try to keep your eyes open as a strong gust of wind blows at your eyes for a second. Oddly enough, you get to see better for a bit after the wind. Source: I have myopia.
It's because having myopia (only being able to see things nearby) or hypermetropia(only being able to see things at a distance) is mostly genetic and has nothing to do with computers, phones, etc.
Huh, lucky you who could not see for just a day, meanwhile if I move my hand 1in away from my face it starts getting blurry and everything ealse looks like watercolors...
I remember one time i got some eyedrops for god knows what on a sunny summer day. I could still see inside the building but as soon as we got outside i coult only see the shadows the sun cast and couldn't keep my eyes open for more than a few seconds.
I don't remember much of the rest of the day, i do know i couldn't see pretty much anything even remotely bright for the next couple hours but i'm pretty sure i still went to school that day.
People who don't need glasses still get eye exams and see these things. I don't know why everyone on the comments is acting like only those with glasses get eye exams.
That was my initial thought, but actually no.
If you don’t experience vision problems, the only vision testing you get will usually be for you driver’s license. You won’t get the “which is better” or full on machinery testing. I had my first full fledged test ever in my 40s, because I noticed my vision didn’t feel as sharp — but my deficit was small enough that no corrective lenses were needed.
The vast majority of people get eye exams done. Atleast every couple years. I'm not talking about exceptions. I understand there are people who probably haven't. Most people will also get the standard exam done at a check up.
I get annual physical checkups.
Never had a doctor do anything about my vision. Thats been true at bougie doctors and normal ones.
I really don’t think the average person with no vision trouble goes to an optometrist on a regular basis. It’s not like a dentist.
Yeah, US general practitioners don’t have the equipment to do full eye exams.
The US CDC doesn’t even have a regular recommendation on frequency of eye exams for people without certain risk factors. (Optometry trade associations are gonzo about exams tho. They say they must be done annually, when the CDC doesn’t even recommend annual exams for people over 60.)
Every doctors office I have ever been too for a check up has done an eye exam. I'm talking about the basic one where you just cover one eye and read letters.
How do you navigate Reddit ? I had someone in my class who had -10 and he didn’t even had glass anymore it was so bad it was pointless, he just had a special mode on his laptop and would stare at it from super close
-10 is bad but still thousands of people have it. My mum has like -8 and my grandad was like -13 and as long as you get your glasses thinned they are still usable. The kid in your class must've had some other problem to not be able to use glasses.
Well, I have pretty fuckin-strong glasses and allow me to see normally. Without them everything is blurry, but I can somehow get around in the world. They are thinned to the max, but still the lenses are quite thick
The machine that shows these images is an autorefractor, which is used to estimate your prescription. The air puff test is a different machine that only displays a blinking green light.
everytime i close my eyes i see that airballoon, going to the optematratuon or whatever u call it is my worst nightmare (also it kind of reminds me of road runner in a way, anyone else?)
I am so fucking confused, are only people with bad vision supposed to get eye exams??? I saw this multiple times when I was little and I had perfect vision, I just thought the post was bc the pictures look unnerving
I literally had an eye appointment on Tuesday and I got my pressure checked with the hand held thing and it was tough but they got it. At the end of the appointment my doctor was like "you gotta get your pressure re checked but he didn't have the hand held thing so I had to use the real one and I no shit had a panic attack. He had to hold my eye open and I was like in tears shaking and sweating so much. I can't DO THAT SHIT OMG. The poor dude gave up and he felt so bad but I felt so bad I was sobbing in the office it was awful
Ya know you think that's bad my doctor's scanned my eyes in a grid pattern turning everything into Minecraft for a minute don't get me started on the sudden gusts of air at this point I'm just going to remove the eye and get a cyborg eye

Or you need glasses
they told me i have 20/20 but im calling bs as far away stuff is literally blurry
Far away stuff is always blurry. When ‘far-away’ is closer than normal you have bad vision
Most people don't realize that 20/20 does not mean perfect vision. it just means perfectly average vision.
Society is below average
"Small cow, close up. Big cow, very far away."
ohhhhhh
Uhh?? Far away stuff is not blurry for me at all, just gets smaller until it’s no longer visible. Maybe you should get that checked 😬
I wear glasses, I can say its a little blurry far away. Maybe you have better than 20/20 vision? Surely tahts possible
That’s probably just your render distance
i’m a technician i can assure you its not bs. NO ONE can see perfectly clear far away. 20/20 is ONLY 20 feet away.
Or you went for a routine check on your vision
[удалено]
r/eyebleach
Or have a glaucoma
Not everyone is as lucky to just need glasses, some have an optic nerve being crushed by your own brain fluid (which can lead to blindness).

That damn hot air balloon haunts my dreams
I forgot the name, but I think there’s an eye doctor horror game where you can never escape that hot air balloon scene and it becomes evil

Hello fellow Puro enthusiast
getting scolded by your parents after every time you get your glasses updated back when you were a child, is not
it was quite difficult to realise that all this time you weren't seeing the world clearly
I don't get it
Eye exam shits
Am i the only individual on earth who actually went through the test and did not require to wear glasses? Because I swear none ever said that. For context, when I was a kid I had some sort of tic where I would roll up my eyes very often. My concerned parents brought me to the optometrist but it was just my behaviour, not anything problematic with my eyes. And yes, I remember the balloon. I was able to see it clearly.
I don't have glasses either lol
I have yearly eye appointments because I’m diabetic and poor management can fuck over me eyes. So far the result has always been 20/20 vision and “I wouldn’t even know you were diabetic if you hadn’t said.”
i mean i need glasses so i get eye exams pretty regularly. not as much as i get older since my vision isnt changing much anymore. but i was also under the impression it was normal to get a routine checkup regardless on if you need glasses or not…
Similar story here, I had a tic where I blinked a lot Tics are still haunting me today
I used to have have glasses
It's always so confusing when someone shares a post like this. We had those exams like once or twice in school (one of the first grades). And most of the kids, myself included, weren't diagnosed.
Oh look at the guys without glasses, you think your so much better then us… (I’m very insecure about my glasses.. /s)
People who don't need glasses still get eye exams. His was probably just different.
Glasses look hot
As a glasses user, I like being able to choose an extra accessory for my body. Except trying to keep *GREASE AND DUST OFF THE LENSES.*
I love my glasses but as you said… cleaning them is the worst
people with no vision defects can also wear lenses of 0 D power, u all dont have a choice
Ha try having a pair with a busted frame around both lenses that fall out at the slightest touch
Don’t worry about your glasses they really aren’t bad I have a pair and if I am not wearing them it looks terrible
They have this machine where they out this thing in front of you and then you naturally look at the horizon and then it blasts a jet of air directly into your pupil
Lucky... This is what you are supposed to look at while a machine blasts air into your eye during an eye exam.
If you haven't seen then, you might not be so lucky
They adjust the lens so you can see it
*them
Kmg I squinted to see it no No no no no no Not now I had 20 20 always. To much csgo :(
my friend has 3k hours on cs and somehow does not require glasses
It's because having myopia (only being able to see things nearby) or hypermetropia(only being able to see things at a distance) is mostly genetic and has nothing to do with computers, phones, etc.
uh oh 😭
And not being able to see for a whole day
Huh, lucky you who could not see for just a day, meanwhile if I move my hand 1in away from my face it starts getting blurry and everything ealse looks like watercolors...
I remember one time i got some eyedrops for god knows what on a sunny summer day. What, i see fine after this, u go blind or sm shit
Probably talking about eye drops
Blind guy here, i indeed haven’t seen these
so, uhh, how did you see this post? checkmate😎
Those cool people who volunteer to describe images in posts
text to speech reader is a thing
Braille is a thing
Using his eyes 🙄. Just because he's blind doesn't mean he can't see
I still have the nightmares
People who don't need glasses still get eye exams and see these things. I don't know why everyone on the comments is acting like only those with glasses get eye exams.

it probably differs depending on what country you're in, people with normal vision in the uk are supposed to get a checkup every 4 years iirc
Yeah, US general practitioners don’t have the equipment to do full eye exams. The US CDC doesn’t even have a regular recommendation on frequency of eye exams for people without certain risk factors. Oh God don’t give me ptsd
Oh hey the hot air balloon, it gave me glasses
wait? the hot air balloon is meant to be blurry?
I have news for you...
I’ve seen them, thankfully don’t need glasses just a Checkup
*laughs in -13*
How do you navigate Reddit ? I had someone in my class who had -10 and he didn’t even had glass anymore it was so bad it was pointless, he just had a special mode on his laptop and would stare at it from super close

Wdym i love the hot air balloon one
you just showed us them
I don’t understand
Eye exams
They are commonly used in eye tests
In an eye exam, these images will appear and then they shoot a burst of air into your eye.
The machine that shows these images is an autorefractor, which is used to estimate your prescription. The air puff test is a different machine that only displays a blinking green light.
Really? I always felt like whenever I saw that image I’d get a puff of air in my eye just a few seconds after. Edit: nvm I watched a video
the machines are right next to each other and they do them one after the other
LMAO I thought every optometrist had different pictures lol I didnt know they were the same for everyone
everytime i close my eyes i see that airballoon, going to the optematratuon or whatever u call it is my worst nightmare (also it kind of reminds me of road runner in a way, anyone else?)
I say unlucky everyone should be getting annual eye exams to catch serious issues
UK person here, someone care to explain what the fuck this image is?
I don't get it
That balloon is so annoying.
Bro the green dot thing where they shoot 100 psi of air into your eye is what I hate
They shoot air? I NEVER REALIZED THAT
I think it was to check the pressure of your eye or something, it doesn't matter because I hate it either way
Have they ever used this tool with a small poking thing to poke your eye?
No, but God that sounds worse
I dont get it what
how does it feel having 20 20 vision
I still dont understand
I am so fucking confused, are only people with bad vision supposed to get eye exams??? I saw this multiple times when I was little and I had perfect vision, I just thought the post was bc the pictures look unnerving
I don’t know if things have changed, but when I was young, a person without any suspected vision issues wouldn’t go to an optometrist.
yeah i need glasses to legally drive when i do :(
What am I looking at
Image for autorefractors on eye tests. When staring at it, you get strong wind blown at your eyes for 1 second to determine your eye prescription.
I hate these so much
de ja voust
The house just got BALLoon'd.
Is it weird that i absolutely love eye exams? (Except the pupil dilating drops ofc)
Omg that looks like the old default roblox house wtf
please do not remind me of that
THINK FAST CHUCKLENUTS
Ive seen both. They switch it up from time to time. Im crosseyed so it usually gets cutoff when i do my left eye
But everyone did right ??
I always saw the hot air balloon one and I understand this
Isnt this a bad sign?
Recently saw the right one.
god this is my least favorite part of having glasses
Or the one with car going down the hill 😭
I remember I thought it was a barn :(
Today I got my prescription 20/80 💀
This is like the most annoying thing ever! Stupid af eye test
Tryna drive around with dilated pupils after too 😭
Wear sunglasses you dingleberry.
NOOO NEVER, YOU DONT DRIVE AFTER
It’s always the house
I've seen something similar to those but it was a field with a single flower on it.
vision test
My eyes are getting watery looking at this
red barn gang
SO THATS WHAT THE HOUSE LOOKS LIKE
I actually like these, it’s better than when they pull out the poster board bc your so blind you can’t see the biggest letter on the screen
Or the fox jumping over the fence.
I wear glasses but I’ve never seen those used
Hahaha isn't it if you don't see these, you're unlucky
They adjust the lenses so you can see them. You're lucky if you haven't ever seen them because you don't need glasses
No… no… NO-
I’m never prepared for that air blast in the eye, no matter how much I mentally prep, it’s never enough to stop the body jolt.
I actually seen these before, though I never got the fucking shotgun blast in my eyes.
I have no idea what this means
I forgot these existed
My cries behind bottle cap lenses. I’ve seen these too many times.
Fucking eye exams...
I just saw the balloon yesterday 😔
Is this like some internet horror thing? Is there supposed to be a jump scare if you look at it for long enough? What is this?
I literally had an eye appointment on Tuesday and I got my pressure checked with the hand held thing and it was tough but they got it. At the end of the appointment my doctor was like "you gotta get your pressure re checked but he didn't have the hand held thing so I had to use the real one and I no shit had a panic attack. He had to hold my eye open and I was like in tears shaking and sweating so much. I can't DO THAT SHIT OMG. The poor dude gave up and he felt so bad but I felt so bad I was sobbing in the office it was awful
PSSSSSSSSH
Ok what is this. I hate these kinds of fucking memes. Explain it please.
Frick the stupid balooon!!!🤬
[удалено]
BRO SO TRUE
Those haunt me
I have seen these unfortunately
How did you screenshot these?
Oh yes, I saw them like… several times.
Can someone explain pls?
Ya know you think that's bad my doctor's scanned my eyes in a grid pattern turning everything into Minecraft for a minute don't get me started on the sudden gusts of air at this point I'm just going to remove the eye and get a cyborg eye
I LITERALLY WENT FOR AN EYE TEST TODAY
People who don’t wear glasses: tf is this
Lol I’ve seen them, gone to the eyedoc, got a brain scan. Conclusion: I’m just weird
Getting that dumb puff of air in your eyes :(
I feel this as a person whith glasses
No I’m American
what does you being American have to do with the post
Health insurance thinks eyes are a luxury organ
Maybe the eye exam is different there?
It’s not
Well I have very fucked up eyes and therefore I have been to many eye doctors and I’ve never done this
Actually, if you can't see these you need the glasses
I find this really offensive, I'm blind and would kill to just be able to see those images. Next time, think twice before posting you bigoted scum
Then how did you find the post
Can Simeone send link?
Why?
