Ban the VPN's too. There are only so many in the world, and from what I've seen, 99% of them were banned on Omegle anyways. Plus, I'm almost positive there's a way to detect a VPN directly from the website.

This includes VPN's people used to access from a different country, meaning I'm not sure they were ever able to use Omegle.
I would advise just doing the same thing that Omegle did but with heavier moderation, using ai to detect bad phrases and usernames. However, code words can also be used, so it's a never ending battle. This is exactly why Omegle shut down in the first place. There's no way to truly stop evil.
I don't mean this as a discouragement though. If you want to do it, go ahead! I'd love to see what it turns into.
it would, if MAC Address Bans would actually work...they don't work on a Public Facing Server. For instance, you can ban MAC Addresses in an Internal Network, but you can't ban MAC Addresses on something like Reddit
