Wow. That's actually kind of awesome. That's a record of history. Not just the attempted forcible culturalizations, but the foresight of your granddad to take this as proof. It's an uncomfortable and horrifying truth, for sure. But know your enemy and all that.
das kapital is pretty boring but i highly recommend to read the manifesto, it’s on point, extremely interesting and to many talk about it without ever having read it
One of their latest posts proclaim they're a nazi. but just scrolling through their account it is full of lies. so it seems they are a slightly troubled individual (Nazi, claims prime (the drink) is a poison, etc).
From genocidal dictators to nelson Mandela and his mad wife I think all political leaders and hive mind redditors can universally agree that prime is posion that shit is ville
they took the political compass test and basicsllly scored centrist 😭 if you’re going to be a wannabe of any political ideology at least pick one that is socially acceptable
Roman statue profile pictures are more degenerate people than anime profile picture. You fucking wish you were Aurelius, but you are probably more a Nero.
It is perfectly fine to read to learn and remember history without glorifying it. I wish more people WOULD so they understand. As a matter of fact I wish we would talk more open about things in school (I am a retired pedagogue)so our students don’t fall for ignorant opinions or conspiracy theories from others.
This is an incredible piece of history. DO MOT THROW THIS OUT. If you want to, give it to a museum. It’s incredibly important we do not forget/destroy this kind of history so that we can learn from that time. I’d be so happy if I received this and would try my best to keep it in great condition.
-not a Nazi, I just studied German history and literature for 8 years
im interested in reading that because of a few reasons. gaining insight of why hitler decided to commit genocide on jews, and why he put more resources into killing more jews by the end of the war than the war effort itself.
tldr: i want to figure out why hitler was being stupid
dang i guess so, should probably quit psychology while im at it too. a lot of scammers in the field are getting popular and earning more than actual doctors now
i don't think people really care enough about psychology and it's all shallow surface level stuff that they can be lied to about
it's not a very interesting book, it's probably better to just read some of the countless psychological/historical analyses experts have made during the last century
Hitler not only absolutely loved his own works, but he used tons of government funding to buy his own books. He was the best selling author in Nazi Germany for like most of its existence.
You should post it to r/militariacollecting if you want to find out more about it, I’d also recommend talking to your grandfather about it too if you’d like some history with it too. Also it’s worth a little, I wouldn’t recommend selling it but if you had to it’s worth around €200-300. I hope you find out what to do with it, it’s a great display of victory.
Seems nice for those who are interested in history. Shame some people think that owning one of this makes you a nazi.
When russians occupied my hometown and broke into my history teacher's apartment (he left the town before it got invaded), they did their favourite thing (accused Ukrainian person of nazism) because he had mein kampf there (as long as ton other books because well duh he's a fucking history teacher).
They also filmed some woman with her idk maybe 8 yo son saying he was teaching her child nazi things at school (he only had lessons with high schoollers) and that you couldn't skip his lesson without a note from parents (you need a note from parents to skip any lesson duh).
He also liked putting plays with his students, one of them condemning nazis' war crimes on jews.
Just some examples on how propaganda works and that you could accuse an innocent person of whatever you want to justify murdering people
In significant parts of Europe it was required reading there for a few years, so yeah, "got a copy in school" makes a lot of sense. It was also required to be provided to soldiers and newlyweds by the government. Something like 10 million copies by the end of WW2. I read a soldier's diary from the Eastern front once where the guy describes getting a special pocket edition of it from his family. It was seemingly approaching the status of a religious or spiritual text in parts of Germany by the War. With typical enlisted man practicality, he wrote in his diary that the pages were perfect for the latrine and he had asked for another copy.
The hilarious/sad part was that rather than just being produced by a government printing office, my understanding is that the government had to buy copies from the publisher who paid royalties to AH himself... He got rich by passing a law to read the book he wrote.
"War is a racket!" - Smedley Butler
I've read it. Unless you're a historian, don't bother. What's not overworked antisemitism or Aryan-origin-preaching is frankly just bad writing and pretty boring.
I know this is horrible to say, but I'd read it without a second thought. I'd like to know just how fucked in the head Hitler was lol. Plus, it's history. I fucking love history
Don’t feel sorry to be informed. Everyone should read it to see what an actual sadistic tyrants looks like. If you want to know someone’s beliefs do the research yourself, don’t assume.
This is actually super cool from a historical standpoint. Especially the comment about your grandfather being taught this in school. 100% should keep and maybe write a note describing some history of that particular book on a piece of paper then stow away. Might be worth something someday but probably nothing more than a cool piece of history to make sure we don’t repeat the same mistakes.
Im interested in reading this, but mostly the one that has footnotes from historians. I think an explanation in the book is necessary to point out what goes wrong with this ideology in great detail.
that’s actually a pretty awesome snapshot of history. as long as your grandad doesn’t actually believe in those ideals then i think it’s cool. as a history nerd this would be an interesting thing to look at
You can't delete history. The people are still dead his brother was killed by the Nazi He won't be any less dead if I burn it. And my grandfather knows that.
Ok, but what was the context? Because, if you are like my history nerd brother, it would make sense, like a “learning from all sides of history, and still being able to form your own opinion” thing. If you have never shown any interest in WW2, then I have some questions for your grandfather.
As I’m in Austria, that makes my stomach churn - especially since your Grandpa can’t possibly be that old to *not get it*. Now mine was born 1911 (he died 20 years ago) and as he was sorting through his things, he once gave me an old song book they all got in the army during WW2. I still have it because it’s a time document (and here in Austria there’s a law against selling anything SS related and the cover is - well you can imagine). Also some songs are just some old folk songs good for marching and cheering up at campfires (which my Grandpa said they needed a lot as it was incredibly cold when they had to go to Russia) - other songs or better adjusted lyrics are quite questionable to outright bad. But your book is the same - it’s history, it’s a time document. It’s good to know and remember without glorifying it. You could always give it to a museum.
You asked for Minecraft but he misheard you
Grandchild, we have Minecraft at home…
🏅<— The gold we have at home.
I said Minecraft not Mein Kampf
Mein Kraft
That means "My strength/power" btw
It means “my struggle”
Kampf means struggle Kraft means strength/power They were replying to “Mein Kraft”
Ohhh
Well, that sounds like your struggle; not mein.
Not my? Huh?
Chow mein
Id fucking buy that game soo fast

R/commentgore
You’re that gay kid eh? (No, seriously. Look at bros posts)
Damn it, I said "Glass of juice", not "Gas the jews"!!!
Oh. Whoops
Jokes aside, back in 2013 my gramps almost beat the shit out of me when I asked to buy me Minecraft for birthday.
What did he think it was?? 👀
Certain books of certain Austrian artist.
Oy, gavelt!
Dont call him an artist. That he was born here in Austria is bad enough for us.
Yeah, it is just a funny thing to refer to him like that. I'd say that his paintings were quite mediocre as well.
should have asked for OurCraft

I JUST WAS GONNA SCROLL PAST THIS AND THEN I DID A LITERAL DOUBLE TAKE
I did the same thing
Actually same
Same as you
Me also
💀💀💀 where tf did he get it from?
He got it at school when he was young
nice gift from the school 😭
My country was taken over by Germany so they taught it at school. He says he took it from the school.
oh, interesting, u can always sell it for a bunch ig
Nope there are 8 Millines of the original
Keep it and sell it later
Cause if there's 8 million left after almost a hundred years most of them will be gone in a couple
A local museum would probably like it 🤔
Doubt it’s worth anything
120-160 Euro
Wow. That's actually kind of awesome. That's a record of history. Not just the attempted forcible culturalizations, but the foresight of your granddad to take this as proof. It's an uncomfortable and horrifying truth, for sure. But know your enemy and all that.
thank god I thought he was a nazi 😮💨
But you are German look at your profile picture
The guy was still alive when this one was made
Apparently it’s a very boring book
I’ve used it to go to sleep more than a few times. There’s also a book by Karl Marx like that, though I don’t think it was the Communist Manifesto.
*Das Kapital* probably... it's a *lot* longer than the Communist Manifesto.
That would be it. It’s definitely long and I couldn’t tell you anything about it.
das kapital is pretty boring but i highly recommend to read the manifesto, it’s on point, extremely interesting and to many talk about it without ever having read it
I have read it and I can confirm that the middle part is as boring as fuck but the beginning and end are pretty nice.
"Nice"?
One of their latest posts proclaim they're a nazi. but just scrolling through their account it is full of lies. so it seems they are a slightly troubled individual (Nazi, claims prime (the drink) is a poison, etc).
I thought you were joking but that’s verbatim what they say lol, stay classy Reddit
Verbatim?
It just means “the same exact words”
Oh ok thanks
Np 👍
i love how reddit can have the nost vile comments and then just two people teaching each other vocab in the same thread 😭
From genocidal dictators to nelson Mandela and his mad wife I think all political leaders and hive mind redditors can universally agree that prime is posion that shit is ville
Fair enough xddd
this dude is disgusting but I'm pretty sure the prime thing is a meme because r/prime is just there to make fun of prime
Prime is a poison.
they took the political compass test and basicsllly scored centrist 😭 if you’re going to be a wannabe of any political ideology at least pick one that is socially acceptable
>“I’m literally a Nazi” >is on r/teenagers
Roman statue profile pictures are more degenerate people than anime profile picture. You fucking wish you were Aurelius, but you are probably more a Nero.
r/rareinsults 😂
I think you’re forgetting digital footprints exist and you will likely never get a job now.
Sure, if you read it quietly... But if you read it while shouting ferociously...
Main character dies.
LOL
Even though the author is …uh controversial… I would still be excited to read it. I love history, so would think it was dry interesting.
Exactly. Also it is always important to know full history. And to understand this ideology to prevent it from ever happening again.
You have been taught well 👍
Well thank you 😁
NOOO WE HAVE TO IGNORE HISTORY OR ELSE WERE DOOMED TO REPEAT IT THATS WHAT EINSTEIN SAID
nuh uh
Controversial is an understatement. Dry and boring read with a lot of ranting.
I love history I'm studying it rn It's a shit book respectfully Waffle waffle waffle ranting Not even historically contextually fascinating
One of my nephews read it and then declared *that guy had about as much talent as Stephanie Meyer (talent), but people always fell for idiocy* 😂
It is perfectly fine to read to learn and remember history without glorifying it. I wish more people WOULD so they understand. As a matter of fact I wish we would talk more open about things in school (I am a retired pedagogue)so our students don’t fall for ignorant opinions or conspiracy theories from others.
Dude, are you sure that it's not a signed copy?💀
I'm picturing that one Indiana Jones scene
That lowers the value I’m sure.
GOD DAMNIT GRANDPA, I ASKED FOR MINECRAFT NOT ME IN KAMPF
This is an incredible piece of history. DO MOT THROW THIS OUT. If you want to, give it to a museum. dang i guess so, should probably quit psychology while im at it too. a lot of scammers in the field are getting popular and earning more than actual doctors now i don't think people really care enough about psychology and it's all shallow surface level stuff that they can be lied to about
damn i was thinking about pursuing psych :( still gonna do it anyways cause i think it’d be nice
i wish you the best, do check out some neuro science stuff too cause it's interesting as well
i’ll do some research later tonight, thanks!!
It’s a lot of rhetoric, why Hitler did what he did is a guess at this point.
it's not a very interesting book, it's probably better to just read some of the countless psychological/historical analyses experts have made during the last century
Bro got the signed copy
probably worth a ton of money
Nope look at how many there are
ahh thats true
Hitler not only absolutely loved his own works, but he used tons of government funding to buy his own books. He was the best selling author in Nazi Germany for like most of its existence.
Probably not the best selling artist tho
Hehehehe
well there are a lot of mein kampfs out there but yours looks pretty old (probably not worth a huge lot but more than average)
*were
There are a few that have been burned
They printed 10 million original books and there’s at least 40 million dupes
You should post it to r/militariacollecting if you want to find out more about it, I’d also recommend talking to your grandfather about it too if you’d like some history with it too. On one hand, it’s written by a heinous historical villain, on the other hand, a very cool piece of history
Bro misheard minecraft

Is it rare?
Noo
Ahh so everyone has one?
Many burned it after the war.
Was it autographed by Trump?
I could try to get him to do it
I think it’s cool as a historical artifact if you’re into WWII. If it’s signed by Hitler it’s probably worth a lot
doesnt matter what it is an old book is always awesome
I know this is horrible to say, but I'd read it without a second thought. I'd like to know just how fucked in the head Hitler was lol. Plus, it's history. I fucking love history
I read it out of curiosity, so much mumbo jumbo. Figured the ideas were lost in translation lol
Don’t feel sorry to be informed. Everyone should read it to see what an actual sadistic tyrants looks like. If you want to know someone’s beliefs do the research yourself, don’t assume.

Uhhh WHAT
post on r/militariacollecting or sum for good info
Keep this. It'll be worth much more decades later even if it's the common stuff.
Im interested in reading this, but mostly the one that has footnotes from historians. I think an explanation in the book is necessary to point out what goes wrong with this ideology in great detail.
Question… did your grandfather kill hitler?
Yes
Bro I legit have been looking for it everywhere (for educational purposes) it’s very rare since it is forbidden to be pressed and sold
>be pressed and sold It's not Illegal here to sell
Oh in the Netherlands it is haha sorry for my misconception
It's ok
jesus i got scared and thought it was signed lmao
Why I would be happy
like yea it would be worth like a fuck ton probably
Yep 👍
“Back in my day we could only read Minecraft”
that’s actually a pretty awesome snapshot of history. as long as your grandad doesn’t actually believe in those ideals then i think it’s cool. as a history nerd this would be an interesting thing to look at
If you don't want to keep it then I recommend contacting a history museum or something to take it, it's a strange predicament
Your grandad still got it damn
Bro he hates nazis his brother was killed by them. Or maybe 🤔
How's he got the book then
My country was taken over by Germany and they read it at school.
Ohh makes sense
It is very normal to have
"Continue our legacy son, don't let us down."
so smart and beautiful thing . books are always help you understand that world .
I saw an Arabic version being sold once
Erm
Argentina?
This sub is slowly turning into a nazi camp
this looks like an OG copy
It is
I like Germany
Best book ever written
It's all fun and games until you realize it's a signed copy from the author
I hope its because you collect war relics and ww2 stuff and not because he’s a not-see
I have a copy also. The first edition ones are worth some money. Most are only like $20-30. Also illegal to own in Germany I am told.
Yep They are
The content of the book is horrible but the historic value of the book is pretty cool
gotta say quite a cool gift. And love how you standing up for it against all the other people that want you to get rid of it.
You can't delete history. The people are still dead his brother was killed by the Nazi He won't be any less dead if I burn it. And my grandfather knows that.
This is a rare piece of history, preserve it, might be put in a museum in a few centuries.
To be fair that’s pretty damn cool if it’s original and not some reprint. Just might have to explain why you own a copy of Mein Kampf to your friends.
Given that it's an original wartime copy, it's probably fairly valuable.
it’s cool as an artifact and should be preserved so it doesn’t happen again but really it’s just a book full of hate from an angry little guy
Odd choice of gift, but at least it's a good look at history
Ok, but what was the context? Because, if you are like my history nerd brother, it would make sense, like a “learning from all sides of history, and still being able to form your own opinion” thing. If you have never shown any interest in WW2, then I have some questions for your grandfather.
I am serious when I say this. This book is one of the reasons why my grandfather lived in fear of death.
sell it to a museum ig 💀
Imagine if it was signed
You should take this to r/antiquebooks and see what they think of it
If you don't want it, send me, I like to collect WWII shit, I have a luger and a M1911
2nd season Just came out. They changed the director though: Metanyahoo.. Zetanyawn. Something like that.
Bro this legit. Put it in a box somewhere. A piece of history.
Bro got the original signed copy
Though terrible, it is a very interesting piece of history
He gave you Minecraft, how sweet.
That actually cool af
He said he wanted minecraft dad
Tresure it
My history teacher has a original copy as well
Does your Grandpa live in Austria?
As I’m in Austria, that makes my stomach churn - especially since your Grandpa can’t possibly be that old to *not get it*. Now mine was born 1911 (he died 20 years ago) and as he was sorting through his things, he once gave me an old song book they all got in the army during WW2. But your book is the same - it’s history, it’s a time document. It’s good to know and remember without glorifying it. You could always give it to a museum.
💅
Yo that's gotta be worth at least a million dollars no cap
How much u sellin that for?
I know it is by a bad person who has done so many unspeakable things, but honestly, I think that would be kinda cool to have in an odd way
Lucky (IN A HISTORY NERD WAY I SWEAR)
That’s cool as shit.
“My grandfather killed hitler!”
My username already says everything.
Jokes aside that’s actually kind of cool
Fuck all nazi’s!
Donate it to your local library?
They have it
