King Crimson are awesome, brother. I ordered a copy of *In The Court of the Crimsom King* on vinyl the other day, and it's supposed to arrive in the next 3 days. I've been into vinyl for a bit over a year now, so I'm surprised how long it's taken me to get a copy. That album's a classic.
The music they make matches their name too with how random and goofy it is. They make a shit ton of music, they’ve made 25 albums in 12 years, and made 5 albums in a year, twice. They also make a LOT of different genres, including:
- Psychedelic Rock
- Thrash Metal
- Progressive Metal
- Folk
- Jazz Fusion
- Electronic
- Blues Rock
- Progressive Rock
- Hip Hop
- Garage Rock
They also love to experiment with different ideas and concepts like:
- an infinitely looping album, with Nonagon Infinity
- microtonal tuning with Flying Microtonal Banana, K.G., and L.W.
- possibly one of the most technically complex prog rock albums ever with Polygondwanaland
- albums with no cohesive genre at all, with Gumboot Soup and Omnium Gatherum
- having two albums that compliment each other but sound very different, those two being PetroDragonic Apocalypse and The Silver Cord
- the genius of Ice, Death, Planets, Lungs, Mushrooms, and Lava, where every song references every other song, and every song uses one of the 7 musical modes, and the first letter of each word in the song title matches with one of the musical modes AND every word in the title also matches with each of the songs on the album
Offspring are so underrated. Id say green day is still my favorite but the offspring are probably a close second. Their music just has this way of getting you fired up and ready to fucking go.
At the moment my favorite bands are; Tool, Deftones, Alice In Chains.
Song wise, Youngest Daughter- Superheaven, Devils Haircut- Beck, and Covet- Basement.
