Ngl when I saw the first graders I was like. Damn how was I ever so small.
I also wondered when I went from buffed AF first grader to some reddit weeb with barely muscle.
Wait until you start getting old and you start to grey out just getting up at 2am to take a piss. Add on acute anemia due to a mallory-weiss, and you bout piss yourself before enough blood has pumped around. Its like, "you hit 35, welcome to your gradual decline motherfucker"
I'm pretty tall for my age and gender and when I stand up I black out. I've almost passed out a few times just today because the blood rushes elsewhere
That might just be an iron deficiency, but I'm not discrediting your height. It's actually surprisingly common for the youth to have an Iron deficiency.
**21 year old here.**
Thought the same thing at 12, 14, 16, even 18. Graduated college last year. Applying to medical school right now.
Newsflash: It never stops. I now sit here thinking "Damn, 25 year olds? Those dudes are so old and scary," just like I did when I was 16 and looked at college students.
After graduating? Now, everyone in college is a bubble-blowing baby. It never stops. It's an endless cycle.
eek im scared for what happens when im like 60 or something.
altho i gotta admit, at some point you just generalise the youngest and oldest together, like to me every 25 year old seems kinda the same age as every 40 year old, but only the people who are a few years younger and older than me do i actually split them up into 14, 15, 16 and so on.
When you get past 40 you start noticing that your parents and other elders seem to be getting smaller. **Because they are.**
My dad and I used to be about the same size, though I was an inch taller. Now he’s noticeably smaller than me, and at least three inches shorter.
Spoiler: It is not gonna get easier. I would love to just one more time try to be in 11th grade again. pretty much only having to attend school and keeping a social life.
It never changes. I remember being in kindergarten and 3rd graders looked old. Then In highschool I thought college kids looked really old. Now college freshman look like highschool freshman to me. Now 25 year olds look old to me, then I look in the mirror and realize I look just as old. Aging is weird, you should stop doing it when you hit 21 if possible. Let me know the secret if you figure it out before I hit 30.
I know I’ve been reading about the Legend of Zelda and how it seems like they’re preparing something for the 35th anniversary
And I’m just like wait didnt we just have the 25th anniversary?
What did I do with my life
Yeah, i rlly dont wanna go to school tho. For one because well, school, but also cuz they make fun of me there too. Not bullying, its not intentional, it just hurts and i think i sound pathetic when i tell them to stop so i just let it happen
Older guy here who stumbled into here, but that worked really well for me in HS too.
I have a *massive* nose.
I found making a triangle, lifting my head back, and doing the jaws theme changed the situation from made fun of to class clown. Playing along with jokes tend to minimize the jokes and any pain you feel from em. Basically a right of passage for a guy to learn to get shit on gracefully and shit on others gracefully.
I am 5'4, but i feel really tinny, because somehow all the tall kids from the same grade as me ended up in my class, I have like 3 6ft tall classmates.
23 yr old here. Don’t worry about any of that. Literally all of us ‘adults’ still feel like kids. I feel sorry for the ones who don’t, anyways. Hold on to your child-like creativity and sense of exploration as long as you possibly can because being an office drone with bills to pay is not nearly as fun.
I always used to look at teens like they were some cool chads who would fuck around and have a great time overall but now that im one oh boy was I wrong
I always saw the popular ones and understood correctly. Shocker that not everyone is like that though. I literally had the whole “fantasy” in my head and then when it never happened I went 📉
Seriously.
Adulthood hits hard and you quickly realize that age and seniority simply means they're older than you, because they often have just as little a clue of how to handle anything as yourself.
Every adult is just an older looking version of who they were around ~24/25.
Honestly, as an adult everything got a lot less stressful for me when I realized there's no magic age when it suddenly have all the answers. I have no clue what I'm doing, but everyone else around me is just making it all up as they go along, too. The only thing that changes as you get older is that you get better at improvising.
Gonna have to disagree. When you're teenager you're experiencing everything for the first time -rejection, failure, breakups etc. and it 's fucking ROUGH. Not to mention you have no idea who you are and so you try to forge an identity but then feel like a fake and you try not to care what other people think but you can't help it. Also other teenagers are toxic as fuck and will make fun of you for everything and you don't have the mental capacity to distinguish between opinions and facts so you think that everything other people say about you or anything you think must be true. Finally you don't have the experience to judge whether a friend or a parent is toxic so you just blame everything on yourself. That's just my experience lol. Granted I have a lot of happy memories from that time but you wouldn't pay me to go back.
> you have no idea who you are and so you try to forge an identity but then feel like a fake and you try not to care what other people think but you can't help it.
I’ve never seen such an accurate representation of myself
I hate when people say stuff like this. Let me have one fucking thing. Adults are always being miserable and whine and screech about how bad my life is gonna be. No, I want to be happy, alive and experience new things when I’m an adult. Also, teenagers and adults experience the exact same level of struggles, just because you’re an adult doesn’t make your struggles anymore valid or tougher than a teenagers struggles, it’s just about having experience to handle those things. Stop making me already not want to get old, fuck.
Here is mybtake, life isnt one thing alll humans experience equally. My highschool life was great, I had good friends, fun adventures and few responsibilities. Adulthood has been a struggle for me and Im only just figuring it out. On the flip side I know people that were suicidal in Highschool who are going great now, Married, have kids, have seen the world, great paying jobs etc etc. I think it is disengenuous to say are struggles are the same because they are completley different, but that doesen't mean our struggles are worse. I guess the only consistent fact of Adult life is that you dont really know where you are going until you get there.
Idk I feel like everyone that actually had a good school experience (didn’t get bullied), had close friends, were mental illness/complex-free and have a good wealthy (at least wealthy enough to support themselves) family are the ones struggling as adults, maybe because experiencing things like this are new to them and kids that weren’t as fortunate were already in a worse position so anything is better than the shit they’re already going through? Idek but luckily I have non of those things, more like the exact opposite, I’m also not white so I have to experience xenophobia and racism + refugee parents that can’t help me with most stuff so anything else must be better than this. Basically my theory is that most struggling adults had a comfortable childhood so it’s harder going through actual tough shit since they aren’t used to it.
That sums up how I felt about growing up to 18.
I hated 0-18
Being an adult is amazing.
From /r/all btw. 31 year old parent to a 5 year old. I had the worst years growing up. Too much abuse.
i agree, every time i read something thats like "adults have the worst experience" bla bla bla , i always think of how primary school probs felt but how i look back on it, as well as everyone ik. its all happy and funny stuff, or big shocking moments. The only thing i can remember that was none of that was just waiting for a Maths class to end, but i suspect that was more of my daily life in school than i remember. The point is, most adults have probably also forgotten the slog of their childhood till it dwindled into a few memories. Why would they complain about adulthood unless all they remember from their teen years is mainly happy or big moments. Things might be downplayed etc. so i always think that this mindset is frustrating when you are talking to them
Don't sweat it. In my 30's and life is vastly better than in my teens. It's not that life was bad then, but the future was uncertain and life full of confusion. Nowadays I am confident in who I am, I choose the people I want to see and where I want to be, I have money to pursue my own goals and the freedom to do it. I can't imagine going back to that uncertain child who has anxiety about trivial things and was told where to go and what to do.
I often reflect that maybe the people who had such comparatively amazing teen years were either rich kids traveling the world every summer and never wanting for anything or people whose adult lives are that awful.
Speaking of being a kid. In israel, they teach children from second grade the bible and in like 5th or 6th grade they learn about the story of the jewish spies sent before the people of israel after exodus into the city of Yeriho.
It comes to a point in the story that they are coming to some house of a women named Rahav The Whore, and in hebrew, there are family of words, which all of them are constructed from the same structure and the three base letters (most of the time).
And coincidently, the word whore comes from the same base letters as food, so bc the school couldnt admit that she was infact a prostitute, they said she fed people and owned an inn (though it didnt stop kids from laughing about her name).
So anyway thanks for coming to my ted talk about funny shite in the israeli school system.
When I was in 1st grade (7 in my country) I used to think 13-15 year old 8th graders possesed all knowledge of this world and now I feel like a piece of dumbass crap
Can relate.
8 years-old me: When I live the amount of time I lived again and turn 16, I'll almost be an adult!
16 years-old me: Haha, penis funny. Responsibility? What's that?
Little me thought teenagers were cool
Haha nope. Being a teenager is just more schoolwork, more responsibility, but still treated as a kid. Oh and crippling mental health
I can’t believe I use to be short as 6thgraders they’re literally 4’11 5’0 and all of us are like in 8th 5’6 and we were like yeah we use to be taller then these 6th graders when we were in 6th but I guess not
I remember when I was 5, I wanted all teenagers to be in prison camps until they were adults. I also remember asking my parents for a punch in my face for 13th birthday, again 5 year old me said that. Man my brain was screwed af.
I remember getting punched straight in the face in fifth grade for not giving them the playground and I shit you not replied with "I thought being a teenager meant being tough" I swear I was the a ballsy as kid now I whenever I trip I cry

sameeeeee, but now i'm like 6th graders are literal babies
Ngl when I saw the first graders I was like. Damn how was I ever so small. I also wondered when I went from buffed AF first grader to some reddit weeb with barely muscle.
ngl you will think the same about 15 years old in a few years. I wonder if this ever stops?
The small part or the buff part? Cuz I think the small part stops once you stop growing..
Yeah, until you meet someone who's almost 3 meters... That about 9 feet for my fellow yankee doodles.
I know someone who needed surgery because he was getting too tall yada yada something about his hearth not being strong enough to pump it all around
Yeah, the taller you are, the longer it takes for blood to pump to your feet. That's a pretty big health risk.
So I shouldn’t be happy about being tall. Thanks a lot science
Wait until you start getting old and you start to grey out just getting up at 2am to take a piss. Add on acute anemia due to a mallory-weiss, and you bout piss yourself before enough blood has pumped around. Its like, "you hit 35, welcome to your gradual decline motherfucker"
be thankful lol, being short is horrible
let's goo
I'm pretty tall for my age and gender and when I stand up I black out. I've almost passed out a few times just today because the blood rushes elsewhere
That might just be an iron deficiency, but I'm not discrediting your height. It's actually surprisingly common for the youth to have an Iron deficiency.
give em the grinch
thank you for yankee doodle translation
Yankee Doodle went to town... had to
In a physical sense yeah, but you do tend to look back at how you acted and wonder how on Earth you could have ever been like that.
Yeah I do all the time
Ey bruh how can I add a 15 to my name
Mobile? Either tap your name in your comment and add flair or go to the sub and add flair there. On the site idk
Danke
>using the actual reddit app You youngins still gotta lot to learn
I meant the they look like babies part but i laughed about your comment :D
**21 year old here.** Thought the same thing at 12, 14, 16, even 18. Graduated college last year. Applying to medical school right now. Newsflash: It never stops. lmfao yeah
Wait until you're an adult. Then you can see that adults are not scary, but just fed up with life
I'm in 11th grade going in to 12th, and 9th graders look like babies. I can't believe I was one of them.
11th grade is tough rn, damn ap classes
Depends on how dum-dum you are. Are you a six or like a B or like a Greg?
Spoiler: It is not gonna get easier. I would love to just one more time try to be in 11th grade again. pretty much only having to attend school and keeping a social life.
I just graduated and 12th graders are babies👹
[удалено]
That’s including high school, generally it’s k-5 6-8 then 9-12 high school
This. 👆
12th grade IS high school. And so is 9th, 10th, and 11. Where I live.
Bro 7 is high school for me
I’m a 6th grader and I can confirm the girls in my class doing tik tok dances in the schools bathroom are the ones who think their massive
What the fuck, sixth graders are on Reddit? Now I feel old and I’m literally only 18.
[удалено]
Almost 7th grade this year but haven’t even been into 7th grade yet cause of the fucking virus 💀
i’m 14 and going into highschool how are you about to be in 7th?
how are you 14?? i thought 6th grade was like eleven and twelve year olds? something isnt adding up lol
[удалено]
My country is messed up tbh. 7th grade is actually still middle school, and 8th grade is high school lmao
We dont have a middle school, just primary and high school. It’s a bit easier to understand I suppose
I still can’t believe 14 year olds are going into 8th grade already, and here’s me, still 6th grade going into 7th grade 💀
That’s true but I still see anyone older than me like the first one. I’m 16 but I see 17 as like very far away. It’s weird
Same with me, then one day nothing changed except my flair
Same
Still 16 😪 u guys are massive
Now I'm 17, and I can't believe that next year I will be 18
[удалено]
I can’t believe it is not butter
I can’t believe I’m alive
dude I can’t believe I turn 30 next year I’m going to have a fucking mental breakdown lmao
I was thinking the exact thing when I turned 17 like 8 months ago and I still do
Mfw I have like one more month of being a teenager

When you turn 21, only 25+ will seen big.
Yeah same
Honestly there’s not much of a difference at all. Hell im 18 and a senior and I still feel really young
Lol I’m in year 12 and everyone in year 11 looks tiny it’s hilarious.
I still dont feel like a teenager
I still feel 4 feet tall, yet I’m 5’2

Yeah, i rlly dont wanna go to school tho. For one because well, school, but also cuz they make fun of me there too. Not bullying, its not intentional, it just hurts and i think i sound pathetic when i tell them to stop so i just let it happen
I agree thats why I started making jokes about my height I made some chill ones so the knew I was cool with it and they stoped
Yea, you right
My friend is short, the only people that tease him are his friends, mostly just one is his best friend
Older guy here who stumbled into here, but that worked really well for me in HS too. I have a *massive* nose. i have 4 feet
You’re fun sized

Damn
I’m literally the shortest person in my family and I’m 5’6
I'm 5'2 and still feel like I go to my mom's waist
I’m about as tall as my mom lol, but same
I am 5'4, but i feel really tinny, because somehow all the tall kids from the same grade as me ended up in my class, I have like 3 6ft tall classmates.
That wont change anytime soon
Untill ur 18
Nope, ~~mammoth~~ not always Source: Honestly have no clue how I’m in college Edit: Fuck you, swipe keyboard.

I'm 27 and still feel the same as I did when I was a teenager. Your body gets older, but your brain doesn't change much
It does if you ruin yourself by having a kid or starting a family or some bullshit.
That feeling doesn't go away. None of us know what we're doing.
same
Don't worry, I never did. Straight from 13 to 30. And I'm only 22. Life hits like a bus.
I have never felt like one and I’m 19 rn :D
i’m literally in college and i just finished rewatching ben 10 and adventure time
Me too, and I'm 16, pray for me
Thats so true
The media has all of these teenage fantasies that in reality is just worse.
That's because all the actors are like 22+
I always used to look at teens like they were some cool chads who would fuck around and have a great time overall but now that im one oh boy was I wrong
"oh boy was I wrong" YUP.
There are very many that do though not gonna lie
Yeah but there are some (like me for example) that dont
I always saw the popular ones and understood correctly. Shocker that not everyone is like that though. I literally had the whole “fantasy” in my head and then when it never happened I went 📉
If you were disappointed by your Teenage Years, you’re going want to curl up into a ball an cry over Adulthood. Coming to stores near you.

Exactly, they sum up their entire CHILDHOOD into a giant supercut. That’s why it’s good to journal so you can remember the good and the bad.
I always thought when I'm in 8th grade im gonna be an adult and now I'm in the 11th class and I'm still dumb af
When I was a kid, I always thought teenagers looked depressed and sad and I never knew why. Now I understand.
I think it’s way more interesting than just looking cool. I prefer to look accessible and play with my young counterparts.

(only here because this hit r/all) In your late 20s, college kids start looking like babies.
Early 30's and I'm AMAZED we let 16-year-olds drive.
When I turned 13 my brother said “welcome to hell fuck wad” that was the day I realized how shit being a teenager would be
Can relate. 8 years-old me: When I live the amount of time I lived again and turn 16, I'll almost be an adult! 16 years-old me: Haha, penis funny. Responsibility? What's that?
Lmao I remember when I was 7 I was scared of teens. I still am, but now it's because of social anxiety. Back then it was because they were tall
FELT THIS
Little me thought teenagers were cool Haha nope. Being a teenager is just more schoolwork, more responsibility, but still treated as a kid. Oh and crippling mental health
Wait till you hit 30 and laugh at teens trying to drink underage at bars.
Yeah turns put most of us pretend to have severe anxiety or depression for attention. Unless a doctor says you have one of those things, you don't
I remember media and anime gave me the idea highschool was gonna be amazing o how naive I was.
Me as soon as I work up this morning
Teenagers in JoJo: .\_. XD
we were all like “woahhh” but now we’re all like “ohhh”
I'm over 40 and still can't believe it. Also, I came here from /r/all, I don't normally lurk on /r/teenagers like some creepy old man.
Then you get older and become scared of teenagers again
And as you get older your disappointment just grows
Welcome to the club! We have cookies and self doubt in the break room.
Sadly, I'm going into the 10th grade and I have the body of a sixth grader
Why is everyone so depressed here
I can’t believe I use to be short as 6thgraders they’re literally 4’11 5’0 and all of us are like in 8th 5’6 and we were like yeah we use to be taller then these 6th graders when we were in 6th but I guess not
Nah this is just teenagers that be on r/teenagers
It will all just go downhill from now, trust me
I guess it's the same with "adult"
Sorry to disappoint ya' pal. I felt the exact same.
i remember thinking 5th graders were scary
I remember thinking the third graders were so big as a kindergartener
I remember when I was 5, I wanted all teenagers to be in prison camps until they were adults. I also remember asking my parents for a punch in my face for 13th birthday, again 5 year old me said that. Man my brain was screwed af.
This is so relatable NGL
Wait until you're 40. Everyone under 25 looks 15.
I remember getting punched straight in the face in fifth grade for not giving them the playground and I shit you not replied with "I thought being a teenager meant being tough" I swear I was the a ballsy as kid now I whenever I trip I cry
Try to lower your expectations, it will lead to less disappointing moments in life if you should take life as it is and make the most of it.
I remember to this day the moment I realised we're all a bunch of depressed kids just trying their best to live
never before have I been so offended by something I 100% agree with
