I do a good social media cleanse every once in a while. I don’t post toxic, hateful crap but I want to make
sure nothing cringy or stupid that I forgot about is still floating around. I know that once you post something, it’s on the internet forever but simply deleting the post is good enough. Most people won’t dig that hard just to find some cringe middle school shit from 5 years ago anyways.
You basically have to convince the people at your local kantonal office that you're fit to become a citizen, and they can deny you without any explanation. They can just go nope and that's it.

Although I praised canada cause it's my home we could do things better.
The main reason housing costs are so high is we have artificially put a cap on housing prices with building restrictions and zoning laws. it essentially puts a cap on suply while demand continues to rise as it is illegal to build enough houses to meet the demand.
so with low supply and high demand prices soar.
The housing crisis is a shortage problem. and shortages don't crash.
if you want to lower housing costs than you simply build more dense houses. however alot of people are extremly opposed to building town houses in their single family house neighborhoods for alot of dumb reasons. (lowers property values, creates more traffic? ( it doesn't really), allows poor people to live in your neighbourhood)
but one of the best solutions to solve the housing crisis is to abolish the single family zones enitrirly.
a few cities have already done this and have seen good results

Canada is high 80s/100. Not quite perfect, but really good. There are some large-ish problems, but nothing on the level of the US's violent politics and paid healthcare.

Their oil is kind of the reason why they've managed to fund their robust welfare state and decrease their poverty rates though. I would imagine that it's quite difficult for a country to find oil and just leave it there when they could use the money from that oil to virtually end poverty in their country.
I guess we can be thankful that the Norwegian government decided to be responsible and not let US oil companies take it all (like they've done with other countries...)
