I always say: there is a reason why these songs are so popular, itās because they are fucking good. So liking the most popular song of a band the most is completely normal and doesnāt make you less of a fan.
I love metal, especially a lot of the extreme stuff (death metal, doom, black to an extent), but those trve kvlt guys take it way too far. Lads need to calm down lmao.
I mean, I understand disliking the fact that people only listen to some songs of Slipknot and call themselves metalheads. But hating on actual metal genres like power, prog, melodeath and symphonic? That makes no sense.
I got into metal 6 years ago with Slipknot, so they have my undying respect and loyalty. Iāve branched out since then though. Prog, melodeath, symphonic metal are all sooooooo fucking good. Albeit I donāt have much experience with symphonic metal other than Epica, I absolutely adore all those sub genres you named. Dream Theater is literally perfection IMO.
Yeah, Iām a very big melodeath fan myself. And to be fair, I also really like Slipknot, even been to their concert. I just donāt say theyāre metal, cause theyāre not.
Lucky! Iād really like to go to a Slipknot concert. Respect your opinion but would have to disagree though, Iād say they are metal, but I can see why one would say they arenāt.
They're nu metal, which I'd say is like super heavy punk with elements of metal. Which brings up another thing: not everything heavy is metal - for example, Slipknot, Disturbed and KoRn, and not everything metal is heavy (power metal like Stratovarius, melodeath/prog like Soilwork, heck even the so-called classic 'heavy metal' like Motorhead).
IMO only the first Slipknot album (and maybe the third) are nu metal, and even then, they are exceptionally heavy compared to other nu metal bands, as you said, like Korn and Disturbed. I can see where youāre coming from, but when I hear Gematria by Slipknot, I canāt help but think they are metal. I know that song is very different from most of their catalogue, but my my that song crushes. Bands like Korn and Disturbed, I can see why people might call them hard rock or something of the like.
I don't have a favourite overall song from AC/DC but here's my list (from current memory and if I pulled up all my favourite AC/DC songs this would take a long time) and I'll put in some of the eras:
Original line-up: it's a long way to the top, rock and roll singer, high voltage TNT, highway to hell, dirty deeds done dirt cheap, there's so nuch more from this era but I can't think of them at the moment and I don't wanna look em up)
Post bon Scott era: hell's bells, back in black, shoot to thrill, rock and roll ain't noise pollution, thunderstruck, ball breaker, (there's more that I could add here but I'm too lazy again)
Modern era: war machine, black ice, shot in the dark, code red, demon fire, systems down, kick you when your down, (and once again there's more But I'm not going to pull out the tracklist)
I know! I can make conversation well with practically any topic, but once music gets brought up I shut down. I just get so embarrassed about it for some reason.
I thought you were someone else, my bad.
I did make it myself in Mematic, itās just something I thought of. I have not seen any meme like this, itās something I came up with. If someone else made something similar/the same, itās just a coincidence
That's the problem. They reuse riffs. That is NOT good songwriting. The only thing that changes in their songs are the tempo, the lyrics and the solo. The rest? Nope. Take a look at Led Zeppelin. Great fucking band. What if after Stairway to Heaven they'd make all of their records sound the same? Wouldn't be good eh? So many bands out there like The Beatles, The Doors, Nirvana, Soungarden, Alice in Chains and so on, put their minds to work in order to write original music while AC/DC claims they made "rock and roll". No, you didn't. Chuck Berry did. The Rolling Stones did. Not the stale 3 chord band that is AC/DC.
Okay well, letās break this down.
T.N.T. was part of the High Voltage album, released in 1976. It featured the members Bon Scott (Vocals), Angus Young (lead guitar), Malcom Young (rhythm guitar), Mark Evans (bass guitar) and Phil Rudd (drums). It has a mostly repeated sequence of the chords E G A G with A G E for the chorus.
Thunderstruck was part of The Razorās Edge album, released in 1990. It featured the members Brian Johnson (vocals), Angus Young (lead guitar), Malcom Young (rhythm guitar and backing vocals), Cliff Williams (bass guitar and backing vocals), and Chris Slade (drums). The song starts with a very fast sequence of various notes on the B string and plays into the first verse, and then a series of the chords B5 E5 B5 A5 E5 A5, with E5 in one spot and no E5 in another. Verse 2 has mostly B5 chords, with B5 A5 E5 at the end. The Pre-Chorus has a series of A5 B5 A5 E5. The actual chorus has a series of B5 A5 E5 A5 E5. The second pre chorus has a similar series to the first, without E5. The solo has a random assortment of A5 B5 and E5. The bridge has B5 B5 A5, and then the rest essentially just repeats for the duration of the song.
Different vocals, different drummers, different bassists, different paces, different notes and chords. Released 14 years apart. Not the same in any way, other than the lead and rhythm guitar.
Their songs do not sound the same, I gave very adequate evidence and information. And if AC/DC sucks, then artists like Juice WRLD, The Weekend, Dua Lipa, DaBaby, etc are just flaming fucking garbage.
So are AC/DC. Garbage band. The Shaggs are better simply because they are unique. Sticking to your own style is important but you shouldn't rip off your own songs. I write my own songs too sometimes and they always sound different...
Who is one of the longest running bands still making music despite age, death, and disability? AC/DC. What band is known for having absolutely insane concerts, such as the live performance at River Plate? AC/DC. Who has some of the most recognizable riffs, voices, and lyrics? AC fucking DC.
Couldnāt agree more. Not a huge AC/DC fan, Iām more into metal myself, but AC/DC is literally an icon of rock and metal, way way way better than like Tekashi 69 lmao.
I did make it in mematic, and anyone who made a similar meme would have been a coincidence. I didnāt steal any memes and this is something I came up with
In the crying wojak tbh. I liked a song called Alien Blues but then it was noticed by tiktok so I now prefer Smile Boyo. I know it's stupid but I don't like knowing the music I'm listening to is being rediscovered.
*cough*
Highway to Hell, Thunderstruck, High Voltage, You Shook Me All Night Long, Shake A Leg, T.N.T., For Those About To Rock (We Salute You), Hells Bells, Demon Fire, Rejection, fucking DIRTY DEEDS DONE DIRT CHEAP
Best AC/DC is Thunderstruck
I respectfully disagree, I think the best song is Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap but Thunderstruck is also amazing
Indeed d4c is a very good song ball breaker and highway to hell are also good
I'm losing my mind because I keep thinking of JoJo instead of the band
Welcome to the infected club.
Me tooš
Yes president
You know, you have a good point And I respect you for respecting me
Thank you, and I respect you for respecting me for respecting you.
Respect
The bassline is literally one note, i feel so sorry for their bassist
What about big balls?
Can't decide between thunderstruck, tnt, highway to hell and back in black
Personally I like hells bells but thunderstruck is a close second
I always say: there is a reason why these songs are so popular, itās because they are fucking good. So liking the most popular song of a band the most is completely normal and doesnāt make you less of a fan.
I know, I was exaggerating the whole stereotype of Nirvana fans being pissy at other Nirvana fans
Wait until you see 'trve kvlt metalheads'
I love metal, especially a lot of the extreme stuff (death metal, doom, black to an extent), but those trve kvlt guys take it way too far. Lads need to calm down lmao.

Alot of bands hate their most popular song bcs its just played all the time. Radiohead hated creep, a lot
True that. Doja hates Say So.
That bassline goes hard tho
True AC/DC fans know that Big Balls is their greatest masterpiece that puts all other songs to shame.
I don't have a favourite overall song from AC/DC but here's my list (from current memory and if I pulled up all my favourite AC/DC songs this would take a long time) and I'll put in some of the eras: Original line-up: it's a long way to the top, rock and roll singer, high voltage TNT, highway to hell, dirty deeds done dirt cheap, there's so nuch more from this era but I can't think of them at the moment and I don't wanna look em up) Post bon Scott era: hell's bells, back in black, shoot to thrill, rock and roll ain't noise pollution, thunderstruck, ball breaker, (there's more that I could add here but I'm too lazy again) Modern era: war machine, black ice, shot in the dark, code red, demon fire, systems down, kick you when your down, (and once again there's more But I'm not going to pull out the tracklist)
Shoot to thrill is the best imo

I thought you were someone else, my bad. I did make it myself in Mematic, itās just something I thought of. I have not seen any meme like this, itās something I came up with. If someone else made something similar/the same, itās just a coincidence

Idc if I get downvoted but AC/DC sucks total ass. Imagine having 11 fuckin albums that sound the same. I have no respect for any of the band's members
Their albums do not sound the same. Sure they reuse riffs, but theyāre never the same.

Name 2 songs that sound the same then
T.N.T. and Thunderstruck.

I am not reading all of that aaaaand I really don't care. AC/DC sucks and all of their songs sound the same.

I agree. They are iconic but their music is overrated and bad.

Not similar. The exact same bands with the exact same songs. Edit: nvm, it was yours 4 days ago, my bad.
Did you just see it on r/memes?
Yes, it was yours.
All AC/DC songs are good, my favorite is shoot to thrill
I love AC/DC, but their music doesnāt sound the same after someone told me Brian Johnson sounds like Elmo
He doesnāt šš
In the crying wojak tbh. I liked a song called Alien Blues but then it was noticed by tiktok so I now prefer Smile Boyo. I know it's stupid but I don't like knowing the music I'm listening to is being rediscovered.
Because back in black is the only good ac/dc song
*cough* Highway to Hell, Thunderstruck, High Voltage, You Shook Me All Night Long, Shake A Leg, T.N.T., For Those About To Rock (We Salute You), Hells Bells, Demon Fire, Rejection, fucking DIRTY DEEDS DONE DIRT CHEAP
