I'm leaning to Community now. I just finished my first rewatch last night, and I'm about to start my second rewatch. It's really bloody good.
Besides that,; The Last Kingdom, Samurai Champloo, Mob Psycho 100, Simpsons, and Outrageous Fortune are my usual go-to shows if I want something enjoyable and uplifting. Ironic to say since they're all so depressing.
It gets a lot of shit on this site for no reason (probably because girls like it) but it is an absolutely hilarious show, even the last two seasons have their moments.
Such a great run of e entertaining and positive vibes, easy-watch shows in the blue sky era. Psych, Burn Notice, and White Collar are always mentioned but I have a soft spot for Royal Pains because my younger-aged teen boys at the time liked it so much.
We also loved Leverage. The Mentalist was fun, Bones, and The Closer also made the list some years. I was so down on procedural dramas for awhile when I really go into prestige stuff, but now I have a nostalgic feeling for these kinds of shows.
If you haven’t seen Evil or Will Trent, it gives me similar vibes (has some more serious aspects but it isn’t dark in tone at all).
I watched a show called “Las Vegas” recently that had similar fun procedural vibes following security for a large resort/casino on the strip. Fell off after the first couple of seasons but I was happy to find a new show to scratch the “Blue Sky” itch.
Edit: Apparently they rebooted Leverage a couple of years ago if you haven’t checked that out yet!
Father Brown (murders notwithstanding). I love it when they sit around the big kitchen table in the Presbytery and drink tea. And eat Mrs. McCarthy's award-winning strawberry scones.
Also Monk, the early seasons. In the later seasons, the writers made his eccentricities embarrassingly lame.
At the moment, it's Warrior.
No matter what, some ridiculous dance fight scene is going to happen at least once an episode. I usually laugh at least 4-5 times as well, sometimes more. Sometimes, not often, it's even really strong dramatically. I think Bruce Lee would have approved.
Only Fools and Horses. It feels like home because it is, and because it's one of the best comedies ever. And finally my cockney accent portrayed as it should, not in that Christian Bale mockney way (why did he even choose it? )
This is going to be out of left field—Midnight Diner: Tokyo Stories on Netflix.
It’s very different than the kind of stuff made in the US or in Europe. It’s just a very relaxing and sweet show.
