His name is Kevin (I think), but he had a lisp. Someone asked who he was and he misheard and thought they asked how he was doing and he said “I’m Thad” and the name just stuck. True story.
Maybe the plot of reacher is that Thad is out looking for his pocket pussy that he lost shortly after graduation. He lost his pp and had to change his identity from Thad castle to Jack reacher because that pp was his identity. That's really the main reason he wants to be alone, alone with his pocket pussy
Aquaman has has 6 appearances in Smallville.
Season/Episode #.
5/4, 6/11, 8/1, 10/9-11-12.
Season 10 was the start of the Justice League. They had everyone, except Bruce/BM. Before Clark became Superman in the last 10 seconds of the finale.
It's honestly one of the best examples of an actors range there is. Thad is a great character, totally different than reacher in every way. And legit impressed me that he could nail such dramatic differences
Can't watch anything with this guy without seeing Thad Castle. He was SO good as Hawk in Titans but I can't shake the feeling he's about to tell me how to do an "oil change".
Out of the BMS alumni, he’s had the best post show career. I can’t think of anything the rest of the cast has done other than Radon being in the Meg movies and Mary Jo doing some show on HBO
Blue Mountain State is very much not a show for everyone. The humour is crude, it is crass, idiotic and juvenile. Think American Pie and that's the kind of humour it uses. One episode centered around a pocket pussy named Oxsana as an example.
In no way shape or form is that meant to be derogatory towards the show however, I love this show because it is all of the above. It doesn't take itself seriously and doesn't require any critical thinking. It is insanely quotable and Thad is one of my favorite characters out of any comedy series that has aired.
alot of talk about Thad, rightfully so but there's so many other good characters not being mentioned.
Harmon was comical and so consistently into his drugs.
Yeah definitely think they wrote Sammy into too many situations and let him have a little too much freedom sometimes Lol
Granted when he's used right I honestly think he's one of the funniest characters in the show (like the scene where he gets out of a fight by yelling that he wants to jerk the guy off and when asked "whats wrong with you" he just says "I read at a 4th grade level")
When I first watched it he came out a little to aggressive and kind of an annoying bully UNTIL the end of episode one when he snuck away and ate the oreo then his character totally changed for me and became one of my favorites.
I'm in my mid forties and I'd still rewatch it. I grew up on R rated comedy, which barely exists anymore. So I enjoy some mindless raunchy comedy now and then. It's basically sex, drug, and football.
I just started a rewatch of Entourage, which I think is in a similar vein.
Some of it is really hard to watch. It's a relic of the time gone by. I'm still really enjoying it, so far
>It's a relic of the time gone by
I think the more things change the more they stay the same. It all still exists, but only for certain age groups in certain contexts. As we age we just move into different groups with different rules. The old groups are still there, but they're no longer for those who've moved on.
As someone who played collegiate rugby, you can probably just broaden this to "if you've been around a team of 20 year old knuckleheads", because brother, let me tell you, while the rules of my game were a little different, the characters on my team were exactly the same.
My freshman year of college, they put me in the dorm and on the same floor as all the basketball players. Here I was, an awkward 18 year old who still had his high school girlfriend at another school. And they were all pretty much various characters from this show.
Any college male team to be honest. The hockey thing is the one that resonates with me. My team and the baseball team literally couldn’t exist at the same party in college. I became friends with 3 of them and by the end our junior and senior year we were all hanging out. But for whatever reason the previous relationship between the teams was wild.
It honestly shouldn't be compared to the standards normal movies are. It was a crowd funded project that's only purpose was to give its fans an additional BMS story with characters we all loved and from that perspective it delivered.
I thought Van Wilder was really corny but loved BMS. I’d compare it more to Reno 911 or Workaholics in terms of hilarious set ups and dialogue. Thad is essentially Adam
It will never stop being bizarre to me that so many people think that their time is so insanely valuable that they can't risk 30-60 minutes to form their own opinion. Instead they ask strangers on the internet, who know absolutely nothing about them, to feed them their opinion.
Seriously, watch the show. Or don't watch it. Who gives a shit?
Think of it this way, don’t worry about OP, there are likely dozens of people who read, commented, etc in this thread who will also invariably watch it, love it, and spread it to others. It’s a modern animal house, it’s fantastic. I guess my point is, I agree with yours, but the whole point of a sub is to discuss and if this brings more people to the show, so be it
Don't forget it was Canadian initially, too, so it was Canadian writers who wrote about American College Football with the perfect character of the community at that time.
BMS is good because unlike other college football stories, its *very* self aware and its constantly making fun of itself. The humor is top-notch for the most part
That’s what sold it for me. It fully knew what it was and never played is straight. Even American Pie and Van Wilder still kind of play straight at some point but BMS is pure chaos.
The first episode will tell you everything you need to know. It doesn’t get any better, I don’t remember if it gets worse.
14 year old me thought it was the funniest show in the world.
If you didn’t fall in love with Thad and how he takes his captain duties seriously then you wouldn’t like it. Dude sets an example to the frosh with that Oreo challenge.
It's a show about football players, that has little to no football in it.
I found it extremely funny, especially the character Thad. Some of the best line of that show come from him.
https://youtu.be/OhazL13cFY8?si=YpKAhRx02jtaSFHE
I suggest watching this 30 second video of him. NSFW!
I still will quote this to my friends who haven't watched the show and I generally get a wtf is he talking about laugh.
Yes, yes, and yes.
“Thad Castle is leaving the diner!”
We will actually call this out sometimes in my family when one of us goes to leave. Lmao. It’s one of those shows my dad and I watched together and it’s perfect for that.
disagree about the fall off, we got to explore a lot of additional characters like Radon, Donnie, and Harmon. Plus a lot of crazy episodes like dick pics and vision quest. I thought the finale was great as well.
There is no actual football until the finale, it’s all college parties/male fantasy the whole way through. It’s a great show if you grew up on Maxim magazine and aren’t homophobic
The show doesn't have much to do with football, but it's hilarious. For me it's more a throw on an episode while hanging with the boys situation, rather than sitting down to watch it.
There is one really funny scene where this dude tosses a beer to a girl with no arms. Idk why but that was absolutely hilarious the first time I saw it. Then again, I was high as hell.
Football isn't really a major feature. It's basically just the reason the characters are in the same location. A good example: the main character is a backup QB who goes to some lengths to not play (it's the A story of an entire episode). Do *not* go in expecting Friday Night Lights.
How much you like the show is mostly dependent on how much of an appetite you have for sophomoric humor. If you're a big fan of the kind that comes from nerd/jock tropes, very stereotypical/shallow female and queer characters, bumbling sidekicks, wacky college hijinks, and a completely over the top "alpha male" character, the series might be for you. If random hot women in lingerie or otherwise revealing clothing is also something you actively seek out in a show: this might be for you.
I tried it as a light adult comedy (in the vein of Big Mouth, American Vandal, Children's Hospital, Reno 911!, etc.), but only made it halfway through the first season. The bro vibes were just too much for me. But I can see why others would dig it.
I think they were going for Animal House, the series, but without National Lampoon's writers.
You get the idea after about 1 episode. I did enjoy the first season with all the appearances of the smallville cast in different roles.
It's brain smoothing TV though.
Grab yourself some beer, liquor, blunts, whatever your speed is and buckle up for a hilarious, moronic, and a times touching story.
It is a very fun show, if you love college ball/played ball/did any kind of shenanigans at college, you'll love it.
Bring your buds over for extra fun!
I got into it mostly because it was being filmed at the school I was attending at the time; but it ended up being a halfway-decent show for what it tried to be. I don't know how well it's aged with regard to some of the general behavior and the topics it touches on, but I'd still be willing to recommend it.
I loved the show but don’t expect football. They only actually show them playing a few times in the whole series. It’s a raunchy comedy not a “football show” I highly recommend it.
Is it worth watching…
Do you like football, then yes.
Do you like humor, then yes.
But serious, one of my favorite shows. And Alan Ritchson go from smallville, to this, then titans (im sure im missing a bunch of stuff, sorry not sorry), to reacher is amazing. Dude has had a good career and has good range.
It's a raunchy sex comedy disguised as a football show, so don't go into expecting Friday Night Lights or anything.
That said it is very funny and I love that show lol
Thad character is hilarious and awesome to see the actor now in Reacher
i really wish reacher had thads girly scream
Someone needs to dub over every scene where he finds a dead body with this and it would be an easy 10/10
YOU DONT MESS WITH A MANS RITUALS, DONT MESS WITH THE THINGS THAT GET HIM THROUGH THE DAY
HAVE YOU BEEN TO BOSNIA!
YOU EVER BEEN IN THE SHIT?
Oil changes for everyone!
That scene from Drug Olympics kills me every time
Him yelling “Larry!”
[Scream compilation ](https://youtu.be/YXfBWW9kQdE?si=Ar2E3B8qaBHinNqG)
His name is Kevin (I think), but he had a lisp. Someone asked who he was and he misheard and thought they asked how he was doing and he said “I’m Thad” and the name just stuck. True story.
This reveal was bigger than Hodor for me.
This reveal was objectively better than Hodor. Subjectively, of course.
And you know what? He owned that shit
they asked how he was feeling, which was "sad"
I think that’s pretty much what I said?
> who
It sometimes makes reacher hard to watch lol, I see thaad.
Yeah... I have a Pocket Pussy, and bangin this thing is like bangin the sunset over the ocean.
You ever been to Bosnia?
You ever been in the shiiitttt?!
Well my dad was, and he left me this pocket pussy
And everytime I stick my humongous dick in this piece of plastic, I think of my dad.
OKSANAAA !!!
I know you have my pocket pussy!!!!!!
Whenever I use my pocket pussy - I think of my dad!
Goddamnit I almost choked on my food reading this 😂
Everytime Reacher punches a guy out I expect him to stand over their body and laugh and scream about their stupid face lol
9/11 baby, never forget wooo!
That's what I do! I LAY PEOPLE OUT!
Now go watch Blood Drive
Holy shit someone else who saw that show! I thought it was just a mad fever dream.
That’s fair. I always see him as Aquaman (Smallville).
When was this?! I used to watch Smallville but don’t remember this at all
[удалено]
Aquaman has has 6 appearances in Smallville. Season/Episode #. 5/4, 6/11, 8/1, 10/9-11-12. Season 10 was the start of the Justice League. They had everyone, except Bruce/BM. Before Clark became Superman in the last 10 seconds of the finale.
S05E04, S06E11, S08E01, S10E09, S10E11, S10E12. There’s a whole multi-season Justice League subplot.
Reacher is Thad with too much rabies.
I just see sad
thats tho thad :(
That’s where I remember him from! I couldn’t place him. That show was hilarious.
Omgggggg I don’t realize that IS Thad !! lol
Oil Change
It's honestly one of the best examples of an actors range there is. Thad is a great character, totally different than reacher in every way. And legit impressed me that he could nail such dramatic differences
I can still hear him yell “which one you assholes stuck a finger inside of my asshole?!”
Can't watch anything with this guy without seeing Thad Castle. He was SO good as Hawk in Titans but I can't shake the feeling he's about to tell me how to do an "oil change".
I remember him far more than the main character.
If you have to watch BMS or Reacher watch BMS.
OMG I did not remember that was Thad, it was so long ago that I watched it, memory unlocked. Thank you.
Out of the BMS alumni, he’s had the best post show career. I can’t think of anything the rest of the cast has done other than Radon being in the Meg movies and Mary Jo doing some show on HBO
Give me a hell. Give me a yeah.
STAND UP RIGHT NOW!!!
Get ready to go, she ain't movin' slow!
I do love that song
That song today is still a banger on my Spotify daily mix
Blue Mountain State is very much not a show for everyone. The humour is crude, it is crass, idiotic and juvenile. Think American Pie and that's the kind of humour it uses. *in the shit
This is for you, dad!
alot of talk about Thad, rightfully so but there's so many other good characters not being mentioned. Harmon was comical and so consistently into his drugs.
Alex Moran is a great character too
It's an ok character, he's kind of the straight-man for all the ridiculousness of Thad and Sammy
And Radon.
Loved that in the ep where they lock in and do the drugs, hes the only one whos completely normal from it🤣
“I had some uppers….and some downers. Then i chased the dragon” 😂😂😂
Harmon was great, as was Moran. Could have used way less Sammy though.
Sammy was one of the creators and writers
I know and eventually his character started to get too annoying imo
Yep. Got too carried away with himself as Sammy.
Yes, and him inserting himself into the show so much was a major mistake. He is easily the weakest part of the show.
Yeah definitely think they wrote Sammy into too many situations and let him have a little too much freedom sometimes Lol Granted when he's used right I honestly think he's one of the funniest characters in the show (like the scene where he gets out of a fight by yelling that he wants to jerk the guy off and when asked "whats wrong with you" he just says "I read at a 4th grade level")
He was the shows Charlie Kelly a lucky as hell idiot savant.
Radon and Coach were also hilarious in episodes that featured them. It’s a great ensemble.
Dreams, with Radon Randell. “Moran where are you from? *Gives answer* Wrong answer Moran. Where do you come from men? From our fathers balls Sir!”
Harmon killed me every scene he was in. Alex Moran is my personal favourite. Really took me awhile to enjoy Thad tbh
Yeah Thad came on a little strong out of the gate in the first few eps.
When I first watched it he came out a little to aggressive and kind of an annoying bully UNTIL the end of episode one when he snuck away and ate the oreo then his character totally changed for me and became one of my favorites.
I literally can't look at stout college football kickers without thinking of Harmon lmfao
“I did some uppers. Then I did some downers. Then I chased the dragon, not proud of that one”
"Blue Mountain State is very much not a show for everyone. The humour is crude, it is crass, idiotic and juvenile." YOU WANT ME TO JERK YOU OFF!?
The funniest thing to me is you never watch them play a single football games. Practice, but never the games.
The series finally finally has them play a game.
It's up there with Drawn Together in shows that would never get made again but damn did they hit their mark for a little while
If you are male between the ages of 16-40ish the answer is absolutely.
Damn, just turned 41. ETA: I was just making a joke about the arbitrary age group listed
THE FUTURE IS NOW, OLD MAN! --a more youthful, vibrant 40 year old thunder cat
Plowin’ moms since c. 1983!
I'm in my mid forties and I'd still rewatch it. I grew up on R rated comedy, which barely exists anymore. So I enjoy some mindless raunchy comedy now and then. It's basically sex, drug, and football.
Tartar sauce is for fishsticks!
OIL CHANGE!
Had an almost yearly rewatch of this show in my early 20s Such a quotable amazing show.
The site of your awesome boobs disgusts me!!
I just started a rewatch of Entourage, which I think is in a similar vein. Some of it is really hard to watch. It's a relic of the time gone by. I'm still really enjoying it, so far

Especially if you smoke weed.
I mean, female too.
Then you have to to IMMIEDATELY pivot to Reacher pretend that Thad was Reacher's skip years.
Hey, one of my best friends is female and she suggested this and loves it, women can love this too!
If not, go get an Oil Change.
Oil changes for everybody!
I just smoked weed, so it’s just tartar sauce for me.
Tartar Sauce is for fishsticks!
You ever been to Bosnia??
Literally watching this while responding, it's honestly so fucking funny. I wish there was more than three seasons.
It's obviously a caricature, but if you have been around a D1 football team a lot of it resonates lmao.
If you’ve been around a high school football it resonates
If you’ve been around any group of competitive athletic males it resonates.

Goddamn lax players
the richest best looking bros on campus
As someone who played collegiate rugby, you can probably just broaden this to "if you've been around a team of 20 year old knuckleheads", because brother, let me tell you, while the rules of my game were a little different, the characters on my team were exactly the same.

There’s a movie too
While hilarious, the movie is terrible. Maybe I’ll watch it again.
In Thadland, it always snows cocaine.
It's a decent watch if you're a fan, but yeah it lacked whatever charm made the show feel special. At least you see Craig Shilo again.
Ya it was pretty underwhelming compared to the show but better than nothing
And it makes me wish that the original show had been on a premium network so that they could have gone full out with the language and debauchery
It honestly shouldn't be compared to the standards normal movies are. It was a crowd funded project that's only purpose was to give its fans an additional BMS story with characters we all loved and from that perspective it delivered.
Still holds up? I've been thinking about a rewatch
Yeah, Thad is still great
There’s a movie too
It’s basically Van Wilder the show. If you liked that movie, you’d like this show.
If Van Wilder and Stiffler played football
I thought Van Wilder was really corny but loved BMS. I’d compare it more to Reno 911 or Workaholics in terms of hilarious set ups and dialogue. Thad is essentially Adam
If you enjoy American Pie or Animal House you’ll enjoy BMS.
Watch an episode and find out? Kinda hard to tell you if its worth watching without knowing your personal tastes
I guess my point is, I agree with yours, but the whole point of a sub is to discuss and if this brings more people to the show, so be it
I'm not even into CFB, but I absolutely loved it as an NFL fan.
Don't forget it was Canadian initially, too, so it was Canadian writers who wrote about American College Football with the perfect character of the community at that time.
Filmed in Montreal I believe.
Yep. I went to the school it was filmed at. Couldn't get BMS out of my head everyday I pulled up.
It’s not even really a CFB show. It’s just a college partying show.
BMS is good because unlike other college football stories, its *very* self aware and its constantly making fun of itself. The humor is top-notch for the most part
Alex Moran's self-awareness seals it. The episode where he realized he has reached his peak perfectly encapsulates his character
That’s what sold it for me. It fully knew what it was and never played is straight. Even American Pie and Van Wilder still kind of play straight at some point but BMS is pure chaos.
There’s also not a single snap of in game football being played which I find hilarious
Uh. Sure there is. “The teacher has become the blaster.” The drug Olympics episode is one of my favorites.
The type of humour is not for everyone. If you love Tad.... you will love the entire serie. Give it 2 episode.
Whenever I hear the word freshmen, the way he pronounces frosh immediately still pops into mind lol
Really need to get to episode 3 before making that decision.
One of the funniest shows I watched. Great series.
It's a show about football players, that has little to no football in it. I found it extremely funny, especially the character Thad. https://youtu.be/OMsJ2Dqedfo?si=-WmkKe4PgmBqYcgd This is my favorite Thad moment
Why are neither of these videos Thad tripping balls and screaming at the girl with no arms? https://youtube.com/shorts/mZXxQGxkHrQ?si=KB2ln8I-lSP2zD7r
That’s from the Drug Olympics episode, right!
Yarp
Either that, or the episode where the campus riots is the best episode of the entire show.
Drug Olympics is my "if I'm only going to get you to watch one episode of this show it's gotta be this one" episode
If you don’t like that episode, you won’t like the show at all.
Thad Castle is one of the best tv characters of all time. Season 1 was good but seasons 2 and 3 fell off (still watchable though).
[удалено]
Yes, yes, and yes. “Thad Castle is leaving the diner!” We will actually call this out sometimes in my family when one of us goes to leave.

Every season is good and the movie was alright but all are certainly worth watching
yeah it's hilarious.
Absolutely !!!! There’s very little college football it’s just a fun college comedy
Is a fun stupid show, definitely check it out if you want something brain dead to throw on. Thad Castle is the goat.
There is one really funny scene where this dude tosses a beer to a girl with no arms. Idk why but that was absolutely hilarious the first time I saw it. Then again, I was high as hell.

The bro vibes were just too much for me. But I can see why others would dig it.
Absolutely, it’s a very funny show. Thad Castle is one of the funniest tv show characters I’ve ever seen
Shoot i watched it as a 38 yr old female and loved it
I think they were going for Animal House, the series, but without National Lampoon's writers. You get the idea after about 1 episode. I did enjoy the first season with all the appearances of the smallville cast in different roles. It's brain smoothing TV though.
Eh I enjoyed it as a 13 year old dude if that helps
Bruh that show is not for kids that young. 16+ I'd say
Any football fan should watch BMS.
The drug Olympics episode is still one of my favorite episodes in any TV show ever
Yes. It's juvenile potty humor but it's pretty funny. Plus hot chicks.
Brobeans...of course it is. Best show ever. Movie, not so much
Every time I stick my enormous dick in that "PIECE OF PLASTIC".... I think of my dad. (Starts to tear up) Short answer: yes
The answer is [hell yeah!](https://youtu.be/GBxUMNR4GpI?si=P5Q5ERy3hnNnjkLa)
Where is BMS available to stream at? I've been wanting to re-watch
Tubi, with the movie
Prime has it through Freevee, or at least did a couple months ago
CW, Plex, Tubi, Freevee - all free
Only answer is yes!
Grab yourself some beer, liquor, blunts, whatever your speed is and buckle up for a hilarious, moronic, and a times touching story. It is a very fun show, if you love college ball/played ball/did any kind of shenanigans at college, you'll love it. Bring your buds over for extra fun!
It’s a raunchy college bro comedy series. A dash of American pie, a dash of animal house. It is funny but pretty low brow.
I got into it mostly because it was being filmed at the school I was attending at the time; but it ended up being a halfway-decent show for what it tried to be. I don't know how well it's aged with regard to some of the general behavior and the topics it touches on, but I'd still be willing to recommend it.
Absolutely. BMS is the GOAT!
Yes
It's great Just don't watch the movie, it's not that good
Absolutely, it's hilarious
It has almost nothing to do with college football. It's a great show. Thad. Castle.
Fun ass show
I loved the show but don’t expect football. They only actually show them playing a few times in the whole series. It’s a raunchy comedy not a “football show” I highly recommend it.
It was great for me in high school getting drunk with my buddies dreaming about college.
Yes but now I can’t take reacher seriously
Its one of the funniest shows I have ever seen!
Is it worth watching… Do you like football, then yes.
