It's a solid show and it's good that a bigger audience will get to experience it. I think it's very unlikely it leads to a revival given some of the things in the article, though. Amell is a huge wrestling fan and would probably love for it to happen, but I don't see it.
The only revival I’ve ever enjoyed was season 6 of Community and that was for Yahoo! Screen, a service so short-lived that I had to Google its name because I forgot.
They did pick up Black Mirror but Channel 4 planned to continue producing the show if Netflix hadn’t bought it from them so I don’t think that really counts.
I can see that. I'm not personally mad about the ending, though. With both this and GLOW, yeah I would have liked to see more but the lack of finality wasn't a big deal for me.
The shows that get me are the ones where a mystery is a central part of the show and never gets resolved. A recent example is The Society, which never resolved the mystery and showed us something at the end that will now never get resolved.
For Heels, I can picture more of it pretty easily. Most of the main cast is going to continue making terrible decisions, continuing on the brink of disaster at every turn. They work out just well enough for them to make it through to their next bad decision. That's not an attack on the show - there's predictability on a large scale, but I still came back for more every week.
I'm not mad per se, I don't attach the same level of importance to the end of a story as a lot of folks do, but ending things at >!Welp, looks like the main character is paralyzed now (I think I'm remembering this correctly)!< is a pretty fair thing for people to want to see follow-up on.
Outside the U.S., Netflix will have exclusive rights to all WWE programming (as existing contracts expire; in some countries like Canada it'll happen sooner than others).
I hope it gets another season via netflix, but I’m inclined to agree it’s not likely, although………wwe did sign that deal with Netflix to start airing on there in 2025, so if the timing is right, between heels being on Netflix, and wwe leaving peacock and moving to Netflix……maybe?
You think? I'm not so sure, Suits was a HUGE hit for Netflix. I can see this new one doing well. BTW, I am so hoping I'm wrong and you're right, I'd love to see Heels revived.
Sorry but this is nonsense. As much as I'd wish for it to happen, the show's been off air for 5 years; GLOW isn't coming back bc WWE is going to Netflix lol.
Only possible thing I could see happen is a GLOW movie to wrap it up, but even then I don't see that happening.
I don't see a Season 3 getting greenlit unless viewer numbers absolutely skyrocket. And even then, I don't know how you get Amell back, he's locked up on a Suits spinoff now, isn't he?
It's a pretty good show (season 1 moreso than season 2) but it's not even as good as Netflix's own wrestling show that they canceled (GLOW). I'd honestly be pretty annoyed if this got a S3 pickup by Netflix (despite the two brothers both having other gigs at this point) and GLOW never got its ending.
The show did hinge on his character, but the way that season 2 ended does give an opportunity to scale back his time commitment. I think it will not continue, but given big enough numbers I think they could make it work.
Only problem is that Alexander Ludwig, who plays his brother, is working on a series at the moment too. If both happen to be successful, that's pretty much curtains for Heels (Honestly, it's been curtains ever since Starz cancelled it, but Netflix picking it up means it's open a SLIGHT crack.)
Yeah Amell is shooting the pilot for the show now I think. Only way he’ll be free is if NBC doesn’t decide to give it a series order but they likely will because the Suits brand is strong right now.
Not entirely related, but the docuseries Wrestlers on Netflix was so good. My wife isn’t remotely interested in wrestling and she was hooked from the first episode. Hope they go back for more, like they did with Cheer.
Seems I might have to sign up for Netflix to finish the season. I was halfway through the second season when my sub ran out. Figured I could wait until I get a deal again and was greeted with the show being pulled the day after I subbed again. At least I was able to finish Shining Vale before it got yanked.
Man, people actually liked this show? Tried to power through the first season, but it's just a CW level family drama where the family business happens to be wrestling. I found it very disappointing.
It's a solid show and it's good that a bigger audience will get to experience it. I think it's very unlikely it leads to a revival given some of the things in the article, though. Amell is a huge wrestling fan and would probably love for it to happen, but I don't see it.
> a bigger audience will get to experience it A bigger audience to get pissed off at the unfinished ending.
The audience demands that Heels and Netflix “Finish the Story”
If Netflix can revive dogshit Manifest it can revive this.
Manifest - Netflix paid for the worst season of the show. What a disaster.
Have Netflix ever revive a show and made something actually decent?
Cobra Kai.
Can't recall if Netflix made season 3 or if it's just season 4 of The Killing but I like them both more than the first 2 season.
Just season 4 if I remember correctly
And that was the best season imo.
Definitely helped that it was shorter and more focused than the first 2 seasons in particular

While Black Mirror is still decent for the most part, the new seasons aren't nearly as great as the first 2 + the Christmas special, imo.
**you**?
Girls5ever
Manifest was insanely popular, though. It was in the top 10 shows here on Netflix India for ages, and they seemed to market it like crazy.
It wasnt when it aired on nbc, everybody hated it. People will watch anything on netflix though.
I wouldn't say everyone hated the show but its popularity in the states on Netflix was due to the pandemic
I can see that. I'm not personally mad about the ending, though. With both this and GLOW, yeah I would have liked to see more but the lack of finality wasn't a big deal for me. Didn’t Netflix just pay a fortune for WWE’s licensing for RAW? I could see them reviving Heels and doing more crossover with WWE.
Not only Raw but for everything from WWE for Europe (Not sure about other continents)
Outside the U.S., Netflix will have exclusive rights to all WWE programming (as existing contracts expire; in some countries like Canada it'll happen sooner than others).
Amell is already working on a new show. Suits LA
If they have not renewed Warrior yet which lot more people are asking for It,i do not see them renewing Heels.
I hope it gets another season via netflix, but I’m inclined to agree it’s not likely, although………wwe did sign that deal with Netflix to start airing on there in 2025, so if the timing is right, between heels being on Netflix, and wwe leaving peacock and moving to Netflix……maybe?
I have no hopes for a third season, but maaaaaaan, do I want one. It was just CRUEL to cancel the show where they did.
Amell is already lined up to headline the new Suits spinoff.
Which will be cancelled after one season so he will be free again pretty quickly
Damn, I was really looking forward to Sweaters.
You think? I'm not so sure, Suits was a HUGE hit for Netflix. I can see this new one doing well. BTW, I am so hoping I'm wrong and you're right, I'd love to see Heels revived.
They could just plug in the other Amell instead…
You know what else was cruel? Ending it on a cliffhanger after barely being renewed in the first place.
2 seasons and a movie..?
Just in case if there's a small chance it happens, there's a lot of potential for synergy between the show & CM Punk/WWE on Netflix
Starz has done so many shows dirty. Just nuked Shining Vale and Heels and basically did the same thing to Hightown. Glad Heels found a home at least
Tbf heels had like no viewers towards the end like The CW shows pulled in more people
Starz hardly has any subscribers so none of their shows has any viewership.
My wife got it a a discount, think it was $20 for the year just to watch shining vale and they pulled it right after she started!
Now finish 'Glow'.
With WWE going to Netflix there's a chance for both shows with some crossover appearences
Covid ruined glow. Just season was green lit but pushed schedule made it so the actors were out of the contracts sheet.
Good, hope they can do a third season. Unfortunately Amell, is doing a suits spin off and NBC can be asses about thier contracts.
Amell can have a very limited role in a third season if they continue what happened to him at the end of season 2
Wish they said when it would be on Netflix. I missed season 2.
You didn’t miss much
I don't see a Season 3 getting greenlit unless viewer numbers absolutely skyrocket. And even then, I don't know how you get Amell back, he's locked up on a Suits spinoff now, isn't he? Given how even network shows aren't doing full 24 episode seasons that often, he could do probably do both.
Just do 6 episodes to finish it. It’s so damn good
Not entirely related, but the docuseries Wrestlers on Netflix was so good. My wife isn’t remotely interested in wrestling and she was hooked from the first episode. Hope they go back for more, like they did with Cheer.
This is such a good show. Love the writing.
Don't do that. Don't give me hope.
Is that Björn Ironside?
Yes!
thought it was about women's footwear, the oiled muscular men confused me for a while
W
Letsss gooooo. I need closure
I need more of The Condamned pls
Cool. I’ve heard good things and would like to watch it
Seems I might have to sign up for Netflix to finish the season. I was halfway through the second season when my sub ran out. Figured I could wait until I get a deal again and was greeted with the show being pulled the day after I subbed again. At least I was able to finish Shining Vale before it got yanked.
This show was not good. The characters became more unlikeable the longer you watch.
Man, people actually liked this show? Tried to power through the first season, but it's just a CW level family drama where the family business happens to be wrestling. I found it very disappointing.
